Ok so I just downloaded synergy rc1 and works great on my EVO runs very smooth .
But my question is what kernels are there that can give me decent battery life.
I downloaded piggy havs more sbc kernel and everythingwas fine but I got the white screen on my cam

Best you use the stock kernel for now since HTC didn't release the source code from their latest ota update. Once the code is released they will release custom kernels for the sense roms.

There really are a lot of good ones. I'm using Miui with godmode kernel at the moment and loving it. Not the most stable Rom out, but it's getting better, especially with the new update .24. Customizing your phone is super easy with the theme manager built in. I also like MikG, Cm7, Gingerbread and Myns

This would absolutely be a question that should be asked in the thread for this rom. Not only should it go in that thread anyway, but if you actually read the first post for that thread, I guarantee you the latest version is listed there, no need to ask.

OP....here's the link to the thread: [ROM](6-26-11) SNS Gingerbread v1.2, OTA 4.24 Sense, Actually looks like gingerbread! - xda-developers
unfortunately i am not able to reply to that thread, and also it says v 1.2 for that rom, but on the updated rom that i have it's v 1.4, hence the confusion.
you're using the froyo version....the link i gave is the Gingerbread version. use that one..its up to 1.3 now

Ok, thanks for contributing nothing to this thread, since it's about Smooth and Sexy, NOT cm7
So I decided to go back to an Epic instead of an Evo. I had the Epic when it first came out up until around January. Last things I remember from the Epic development scene was Herver and his Baked Snack Roms and Kernels. (what ever happened to him anyways?) I am obviously in no way familiar with the current crop of roms and kernels and would appreciate suggestions on where to start and I'll test combos to see what works best for me. Froyo and Gingerbread based Roms please.

Good choice. Don't overclock if battery life is a concern. If you want some overclock, go with 1200. I have 2 batteries so I run 1400 max

no 2.4 was the latest. he stopped dev cuz he now had an evo 3d..
I too am looking for the best battery life and I'm having trouble getting it. Currently trying out latest random rom for EC05 and its decent but nothing amazing, I've also loaded the super V6 memory script and the battery just doesn't hold up very well. Where can I get the old baked snack roms?
Sorry to let you guys down, but I can't seem to find the files for baked snack. I'll keep looking though.
i had excellent battery life on the bonsai rom and kernel
Rebirth + Genocide, 38 hrs. moderate use........
Syndicate frozen 1.2 and genocide 2.0 give me the best battery and stability so far, but random rom is a very close second, and then probably viper synergy 5.0. The gb leaks were good with battery too, but I had too many fc issues with them. I would love to try this baked snack I keep reading about though. I've seen a lot of random posts here and there mentioning it, and always boasting about the battery life on it. A pm with any info on its whereabouts would be greatly appreciated. Then again, syndicate 1.3 seems to be just around the corner too, so I'm really interested to see what's in store with that as well.

I am hooked on random rom hawk, battery life is amazing. It usually only drops about 1-2% an hour for me sitting idle. I have heard urban warfare is very good on battery life as well. Gingerbread leak roms are still pretty unstable at this point though. Only try them if you have a good backup procedure down, and are prepared to get hit with force closes and random reboots at any given time. If you need the stability, stick with EC05 roms.
Sent from my SPH-D700 using xda premium
I've tried several roms froyo and gb and the best battery and performance I seen was with randomroms 2.3. Rom but the random reboots kept pissing me off so I wentt to pheonix and its been pretty good I hadbetter battery life with hawk but this is better for now.
I also would like to try backed snack so if anyone has the url t the rom or anything can you please let me know
I found one rom a long time ago butit was 2.1 so I didn't like it I kno there is a froyo one but I can't find it anywhere if anyone has it it would be greatly appreciated if you shared it.

Good luck with that kind of find...
If you're looking for a sense-like feel, why not just go with a sense ROM? I personally use Synergy ROM and everything works super fast, no issues, and service seems to be better than when I had CM7 on it. That and sense ROMs also make full use of the phone's hardware, such as the camera...
The support and extras are a pretty sweet deal, as well.

Signal strength is not universal. You can have the same signal strength on your phone but it will display as a different number of bars based purely on your ROM. CM seems to be one of those ROMs where I have a really good signal yet I'm only showing about 2 or 3 bars. Its just the way the ROM displays it. Flashing another ROM and getting more bars doesnt mean your signal strength is any stronger or weaker at all.
Also, if you're looking for a sense feel then just get a sense ROM. There are a lot out there to choose from. I'm actually thinking of running Boot Manager on my phone and flashing a sense ROM alongside CM7 so that I can make use of the abilities of the sense ROMs when I need to.
I switch between Fresh 4.22 and CM7 pretty regularly and love battery life/performance of both. I use Tiamats 4.1 SBC on CM7 and the stock kernel on Fresh, although it would be choice if there were a Sense SBC kernel.

I keep coming back to Mik's roms. On MikG now and love it. Battery life is great too but then I use all the app tricks I can find. App2SD / DroidWall / SetCPU / StartUp Auditor. If your signal strength is bad just call Sprint and ask for an Airvanna. Once it's hooked up you should be up to 4/5 bars constantly. That's been my experience.
Have you tried team nocturnals merge Rom its sense based with an soap feel its pretty nice if you are trying to have your cake and eat it too

Why do people keep responding to these best ROM threds? Point them to the other 50 damn threads with the same stupid question then tell them how to read the threads in development! There is one of these stupid threads every damn day! READ PEOPLE!!!! I read ROM threads for a month before I decided to root and flash. NO ONE can tell you what is the best ROM for you! Read up on and try each one and see what other people are saying till you find the one that your phone likes
I agree with penny. You have to try them out yourself.
I'd recommend sticking with the default MikG 3.1 kernel (which is the latest HTC kernel) for a couple weeks so you get used to it. Then jump to lionfish and see if you notice a difference in battery life and responsiveness. Personally I don't notice a difference in those areas, but others have been wowed by the latest HTC kernel. Some people say it takes a couple days for a ROM / kernel combo to "settle in." Your phone will have to rebuild the cache and dalvik, and it does that over time as you do different things on your phone.
Lionfish is not based on the latest HTC kernel since they haven't released the open source yet, but it has other features of course, like HDMI mirroring.
Thanks guy ill check them out
