Some Games are very small screen resolution - Desire General

Hey
ive played no games for about 2 weeks. Today i just wanted to play solitare and i realized that the screen resolution is very small... alle the cards are smaller than before. I tested some other games and there are also bad screen resolutions
In some games there are three-quarter black and only in one edge corner you can see the small game...
My Desire is rooted with Leedroid 2.3e.
what could i do against it?
thx

You cant do anything, the desire has a wvga resolution, so if a game or app is made for a diff resolution (hvga, qvga, wqvga, vga) it wont display in full screen ......

But before it was in the right resolution. Hqvent seen sth like thaht before

[Q] HD rom clarity

Hi, I have tried both HD roms and normal roms of the sense kind and the no sense kind. I have noticed that SenseHD roms like supervillainHD or RCMixHD have better clarity.
I am usually pretty poor at noticing these things so its hard for me to explain, but its like watching 480p vs 720p on a 1280x720 screen. Everything is clearer. I am wondering why that is so?. The only thing I know is the lcd.density variable in the file in /system but its not that, both say 240.
The HD screen is larger though and as they're the same screen resolution things will look tighter on a smaller screen. I agree it does look better, though
i dont get it..so what exactly is being changed here? i mean what part of code/file etc?
Dunno, obviously assuming the pixels in the DHDs screen are larger than the Desire so when put onto a smaller screen it looks smalle and neater

Desire HD sense uses smaller font (but not the Desire Z sense)
so more stuff fits on the screen and you think everything is higher res
also, some graphics and animations are new - i even think the new clock widget uses higher res pictures hence it looks much better than the old one
Desire HD has larger screen, but same resolution as the old Desire

1080 x 1920 Bootanimation

I've been looking for a new bootanimation for my Xperia Z for some time now, but I can't find one with the right resolution...
Can anyone make some for 1080 x 1920 resolution?
I guess I'm not the only one wanting something new!
Stock 434.

My experience with 1080x1920 BA's has been hit or miss as far as them playing smooth. I've been using 720x1280 ones. They look great and play flawless.
Ps. When I do the 720x1280 ones, I edit the desc.txt and change the resolution to 1080x1920. So, it's using 720x1280 images, but playing them full screen.

Quality's just fine IMO. I mean, it's only a 5 inch screen. Most people can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 42+" TV from only a few feet away. 720p images stretched to 1080p on a 5" screen, the likelihood of noticing any artificating or anything is pretty slim. Now, if you were to just grab one of the BA's apps in the play store and try to use ones from that, you'd be lucky to find a phone model one over 480x800, so those will probably look like crap.
Also, you can use much higher quality images and play the animation smooth when they're 720x1280; however, when you have the images at 1080x1920 you really have to sacrifice the quality of each from to get the file size down. . . and it's still rough getting it to play smooth.

Ironically, I spent the better part of Q1 of this year working on boot animations and optimizing them for work. So this is stuff I learned on the job.

Optimal Gaming Resolution

So today I ran relative benchmark and I found it can maintain 50-60fps with all the options off at 1280x800, at 1920x1080 aka 1080P FullHD it drops to 30-35fps this leads me to the optimal resolution for our Nexus 7 2013 is 1280x800 just above 720P, at 900P it drops to 45-50fps.
Is their anyway to force 1280x800 on all games via xposed framework or alike?
i've used dpi and resolution changers on other devices but they always shrink the picture instead of stretching it accross the whole screen, leaving black borders how do I stretch the picture to fill the whole after dropping the resolution? do you raise the dpi?
I support this! So many devices are bottlenecked by sheer number of pixels. Imagine the performance boost of a galaxy note 3 (1080p device) if it had 1 million or so less pixels to move around. The n7.2 would become a powerhouse.

The Facebook app is actually designed for phones. They haven't created a tablet style version of the app yet, so you're better of viewing things in portrait mode on Facebook or try and use the website rather than the app.
Pictures are automatically compressed and loose quality when they've been uploaded to Facebook so that maybe a factor although it pretty much comes down to what the other user (who you're viewing the media from) is using to take pictures or video's and how they're uploading them. It looks perfectly fine on my Tab S.
Just because your screen is a resolution of 2560 x 1600 this doesn't mean that when a person takes a 1920 x 1080 video it will look any better than on a 2560 x 1600 screen. It should actually look a bit worse as it's 2x the pixels of 1920 x 1080 and thus your tablet is having to use 4 pixels for every one pixel that would be used on 1920 x 1080 native screen. This makes images look slightly more blocky when they're not the native resolution of the screen, though this problem is harder to see on a tablet screen due to the size of them. It's hard to describe but I've done my best.
The main area's of advantage you'll get out of a high pixel screen and the AMOLED is from better colour reproductions, clearer UI and better looking webpages/books when reading.
Hope this helps If it does give me a thanks!
And here I thought I was the only one with Facebook video problems. I am glad to know it was not my tablet acting up.

Dropped my phone, screen broken, 1080P screen?

Hey!
So, I dropped G3 on the ground today, and my screen is shattered + only like 4mm at the lower part of the screen is responsive while the remaining 5,4 inch (... ) isn't . The screen is working as in it is displaying things but it isn't responsive. Anyways, I was looking on the forum for topics about replacing a screen etc.. but I couldn't find any answers on my question.
Which is, is it safe to buy a screen+digitizer+ frame from ebay?.
I'm thinking about buying this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grey-LG-G3-...043316?hash=item2a4e0c1db4:g:lBMAAOSwBahVD-n1
But i've heard/read that some screens may come in 1080P instead of QHD.
Would that be an actual problem if it turned out to be a 1080P screen? I don't mind having a 1080P screen tbh. My previous phone (Xperia Z) had a 1080P screen and I couldn't spot any difference between the 2 screenresolutions.
so,
Is it safe to buy a screen+digitizer+frame from ebay?
if yes, and if it did turn out to be a 1080P screen, would my phone still work properly?
:fingers-crossed:
