I'm running warm 2.2 rls5 I flashed the cube bootanime.
The question is I have seen a bunch of cool ones, dont know if it has something with the rom type i have or what but I cant get any others to work any ideas what the problem is or what I maybe doing wrong. Tried to put them all on the same way as I did the cube one. Move to sdcard wipe and flash, reboot.
if anyone knows where I can get boots that work with warm 2.2 rls5 that would be great. Thx

Get a file explorer like astro, root explorer, or supermanager and copy the boot animation that you want to system, resource, customize I think that's the order then just restart your phone. If any problems let me know
Thx. I'll try that. Does the animation have to be made for the rom your using or the rom type cause I have seen some that say sense and something else like asop maybe.
Maybe i'm doing it wrong I dont know. I open up astro found the bootanime I want to use tried move and copy and tried to paste it in the bootanimation in sys, cust.resource and I cant any help on this would be great thx.
You need to use root explorer and if your on a sense rom you have to put it in the data/animation folder on the phone not the sd card.

I was looking at bakedsnack 1.5 but the file seems to be bad and also in terms of the radio flash i have downloaded from several websites, it seems to not have any zip files in there so when the recovery opens it it says no files found.
Basically I have 2.1 running with unrevoked 3 rooted. I want 2.2 froyo but I have to have wireless tether for free. What is the best simplest way cause the baked snack file is bad and the radio zip update from multiple places seems to not have any files in it, welcome to let know if you prefer to call or text me, I appreciate the help
Have you been extracting the zips? you leave them, place them on the SD card & flash that.
nope not extracting at all, and the baked snack 1.5 is just a bad file i guess the guy knows it but he never posted a good file back so im not sure, can u help me?

I can actually vouch for this. I downloaded the new BakedSnack rom last night & tried flashing it. It just gave me a bad zip error or whatever it is. Although that just may be with Clockwork.
Hey guys i have android on my kaiser for 2 months and it happened to me twice that suddenly part of system fall, that means home button stop works and when somebody call me it just said i am busy. Reset didnt help so i had to reinstall the ROM. Can u tell me where is the problem?
sorry wrong post
I think we need more info, like what did you last do when it happen, did you install something new, did the battery die while in android, is this haret or nbh install?
Its NBH install on NAND. I have Cyanogen Rom and the latest kernel and i didnt do anything unusual just normaly used it.

which cy rom? I had issues with one crashing all the time (cy stuff was freezing the system up) so maybe a diff distro like fresh froyo or I am using Incubus26Jc's Super FroYo.
Also something that helps is clearing the download folder on your sd card. I know in froyo those files have been my bane. The stupid market has download resuming now, but it looks like it doesn't do well restarting the write of the file on the system (which is why you usually don't to this unless you are a master).
I hope someone can help. I have been using TITANIUM BACKUP PRO on my EVO with the MOVE APP TO SD for apps that FROYO 2.2 doesnt automatically detect it can move to SD. It has been working fine.... UNTIL this past week when I would try to move an APP to SD and it says it is moving it but nothing happens and it doesnt move (it still shows I can move it to SD in TB PRO). Any app designed for moving to SD with APP2SD FROYO works fine. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get this feature back working? I am using SPRINT LOVERS ROM and one of the ne battery life KERNELS.. I thought it might be the kernel I flashed so I flashed back the stock kernel. SAME ISSUE. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling TB PRO but still same issue.
I did post this on the forum for TB PRO support and was told it was sent to the developer but I have heard nothing and really need to get this fixed.
Any help would be appreciated....
What I recently did was installed Dark tremors a2sd on my phone. It actually moves all your apps to sd and frees up so much memory. It's frickin awesome. First you have to find out if it will work with your rom, ther is a list of roms that works with on the DT page which I wil post. I put it on my wifes phone which had Ava and it didnt work. I then put her on Myn's Warm rom, which I think everyone should be on anyway. If you want to switch roms and dont want to worry bout reinstalling all your apps, use Titanium Backup and do a batch bacup through the menu. Backup all user apps and system info. Then in the new rom you can go back into TB and do a restore and it will reinstall all your info. Second you have to partition your sd card if you haven't already. To do so you must first create a backup of your sd to your computer as prtitioning will wipe the sd. Also I only now how to partition the sd using Amon RA recovery, it's much easier than using clockwork. Partition up to ext3.
To find Dak Tremors flashable zip go here- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715938&highlight=apps2sd
I'll tell you what, if you cant figure out the rest, PM me and I will walk you through it. Good luck and sorry for the book, I tend to get carried away. LOL

Swyped From Eva Running Myn's RLS4.95 On The Now Network!
I am confused.. it looks like this program you are referring to needs a partitioned SD card.. TB doesnt and neither does FROYO.. the thread also mentions about OTHER APPS to force apps to SD.. is there something else besides TB PRO?
any help would be appreciated.. a

Well yes, the sd needs to be partitioned. A plus is that all your apps go to the sd leaving much more valuble space in your phones memory and it also automaticaly moves them. No need to move manually anymore.
Also when you partition it only partitions around 500mb, you still have plenty of card. I looked and your rom doesnt support it but I would recommend moving to Myn's Warm anyways. It's much faster and smoother and so worth it. It allows you to use programs such as DT. If you want help with it or have more questions send me a personal message. Just put your cursor over my name and click. Then find where to send me a personal message. Just to avoid cluttering the thread.

I like sprint lovers rom.. Its a sense rom and EVERYTHING works nice and fast .. INCLUDING 4G.. with the new KERNEL I am running I am getting great battery life. I just want to get TB working.. I read somewhere that there might be another APP for forcing apps to SD like TB does. Does anyone know what that is?

Myn is sense and everything works as well. I actually use Calkulin's newest kernel that gives me 2+ days on my seidio 3500 overclocked to 1152000! Either way, I hope you get things working for you and feel free to hit me up if you need. I'm Out!!!

Sprint lovers if just the stock rom rooted. Myn's is a custom rom with built in themes, mods, añd tweaks. You can use things such as Dark Tremors and more. It gives you the ability to expand your herizons. You could always do a nand backup and then wipe and try the rom out. If you dont Like it you can restore your backup. The keyboard is a little different as far as looks but I actually use a different theme which is really cool. I dont know if it works with sprint lovers. Its called Riptide's colorNclear- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=727117
Also, I dont know if you got tether to work but it's included in Myn. Myn is also working on his newest update which implements the new system updates and is supposed to be rockin.
If you want the most out of your evo then try it out. If you're fine with what you got, that's cool to. It's all up to you.
Hi,
I'm just wondering if it's possible to manually disable bootanimation on start to decrease boot time. I know there's no option in CyanogenMod settings, but if I delete the bootanimation file, will that work or will it just mess stuff up? Also where is it located?
I'm using the stable release of CyanogenMod 7.1.0
Its already merged in source but there's no nightly for it
Sent from my HTC Pyramid using Tapatalk
I see, thanks for the reply. But do you know if removing the file completely will mess the device up? And where the location of said file is?
File is in /system/media/bootanimation.zip but there are other considerations I'm not sure may cause problems. There's a file I think in /system/lib labeled bootanimation, recommend nandroid backup and then(easiest if you have root explorer) browsing the root files, namely /system directories and delete anything referencing /bootanimation or /bootanimation.zip unless you update to latest nightly where its an option, unless its just integrated to the ILWT I'm running

It's absolutely fine to remove it. Your bootup will be black but don't worry.

If you still need help and my last post isn't as helpful to you as you need, pm me or email [email protected]; if you're having issues I can try this method myself(as I do have root explorer) and see if I can make it work, though my phones fairly stable atm and id rather not unless you need the help. Always glad to help somebody else trying to learn as I am.

Yeah, my old phone had a nightly that had an option to remove the bootanimation, which is why I asked in the first place
Anyway thanks for all the replies. I deleted the /system/media/bootanimation.zip file and also /system/bin/bootanimation file (took backups of course ) and glad to say to say it worked! Booting into homescreen in.. 5-10 seconds
Worked for me too!! thanx!! now boot very fast!!
Hey guys. I finally unlocked and rooted my phone but somehow broke my camera. It loads up and takes a picture but it never saves. I thought I had read about this issue a while back but my searches have come up empty. I did download another camera app called fxcamera and it seems to work just fine. I liked the original app and would like to get it working again if possible. Oh yeah I'm still using the stock rom. Any ideas?
I don't really know where to begin with this issue. It seems so minor and appears to be the only thing not working at this time. It weird because nothing changed. Its only been rooted and unlocked. I tried to clear data. That didn't help. I'm thinking I just need to flash a new rom. I just haven't decided which one yet. I don't have time to play with a few so whatever I pick needs to my daily driver for awhile. Maybe I need to reset to factory again? Again any ideas?
I've too seen others with this issue...
Not sure what they did to fix it...
But I also remember one user flashing multiple roms in the attempt to fix and didn't fix it.
Sorry I'm not of further help at the moment, I'll do a quick search as well.
Edit:
Might be a permissions error.
Try deleting the dcim folder from your SD card first...
And then check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473629&highlight=camera+not+saving
The code user #2 gives can be imputed through "Terminal Emulator" found in the market.
Type "su" and hit enter.
App will ask for superuser permission...accept, obviously.
Then input his code.
Thank you for trying but Im still stuck. I tried deleting the DCIM folder but it wont let me. Just says folder cannot be deleted. I then tried to run that command in terminal emulator but it says it cant find busybox. I really dont know what im doing here but its my guess it cant find busybox because its not installed where its expecting it to be. And I cant install it where it expects it to be. Would it make sense to wipe everything out and install a new ROM?
Just reboot the phone. If that fails, clear data and reboot.
Sent from my ADR6350 using xda premium
Still no go. In the meantime I was able to get my camera working again by renaming the DCIM folder To DCIM1 and creating a new Folder called DCIM with two subfolders 100ANDRO and Camera. Not sure if the subfolders were needed but it worked. The old folders with my backed up content still sit there now useless and still cant delete. Cant I just wipe everything and start from scratch. I really just want a clean install. I dont need to backup anything. I didnt need to backup anything after rooting and unlocking but I figured why not.
You can reformat your internal SD card via CWM. If it still doesn't work I'd put it back to stock and take it back to the store and complain it doesn't work properly. Assuming the camera doesn't work as desired once back to stock.

+1 If you have problems with any part of the phone just unroot and take it back. if that fixes the camera. then you know it was the method you used to root and I would try another method.
Fix it from recovery
I had a similar problem because I copied files to my sdcard folder while in recovery, which uses root ownership but when the system is booted, sdcard is mounted under a different userid which does not have permission to modify root owned files.
1. boot to recovery
2. use adb shell to cleanup or chown root-owned files to 1023:1023 so they can be modified after rebooting
If you are still having problems you can always just use the ToolKit to unlock and flash a google stock rom which will wipe everything including virtual sd card and should fix any problems.
Mark.

Thanks Mark your right seeing as though I just want a clean install at this point anyways. I remember looking at that in the tookit but it was late and I think I dismissed it because I believed at the time it would also lock or unroot it or both. Im guessing since you recommended this option that is not the case.
Thanks everyone for their input. I appreciate it.

Flashing the Google Stock Image will not relock the bootloader but you will lose root. You can easily use the ToolKit after you flash the Rom to root the phone again if you wish.
