Recently messed up by trying to backup the gallery from jboogies rom and restoring it to another rom, problem is when I uninstalled gallery it also deleted my camera/camcorder. I've tied without success to get them back via titanium and reflashing stock sbf. also tied a restore from clockwork. Please help
You uninstalled Gallery Thats something unheard of. Ok try using other ROM and then getting back to sbf. Its almost impossible that sbf flashing does not restore the original components of the stock ROM.
Not true....i removed the default blur gallery and replaced it with the ASOP version.

I have used both the stock kernel and netarchys 3.7.7c and 3.7.8 Does it matter if im using HandCent? Any suggestions to getting MMS to send or anyone with these problems also?

did you restore your back up with titanium back up? I have heard of people ahving issues with MMS after switching from 2.1 to 2.2 and then doing a full titanuim back upr restore.
I personally have avoided this so by by selecting restore all but then going down the lsit and unchecking 2.1 specific settings/apps (it gtalk_update 2.1 checkin_service2.1 etc etc)
if this sounds like your problem i would reflasha nd restore trying the method above. then reboot phone once and try
I didnt restore anything with titanium. I just downloaded everything off the market again. Any ideas? It says its sending and just goes on enlesly
EDIT: i had installed handcent and deleted the stock messanger that came with the rom. That was a bad idea lol. Reinstalled stock sms/mms program and its all good now

I've noticed that some ROMS do not suggest restoring apps with data when using titanium backup. Can someone please explain to me why this is so? and for an app that the majority of root users have, why hasn't there been any adjustments on either end to bridge the gap of incompatability?
I just think it sucks that titanium backup is supposed to be able to restore your apps onto a new rom like you never deleted them, but it messes things up when you try
I think restoring apps is fine, its the data that gets u. I dont do sny of thst, i always clean install then reinstall my apps, its not like it takes very long and i love the fact that i never have any issues at all with roms

Different roms handle data uniquely..... say you have all your apps on a stock incredible Rom if you flash a custom incredible Rom restoring data shouldn't be a problem.....but when you flash a ported Rom like an evo or z based Rom that's where you get in trouble because all of your data was based off of an incredible Rom.

Well maybe just stick to incredible framework roms and u wont have to deal with that prob

You generally shouldn't migrate data between different ROMs...if you're on Cyanogenmod 7 and you update to a newer build you should be fine, BUT if you go to a different ROM you should only restore the app...certain apps you can get away with restoring the data too, but DO NOT migrate system data.
...and then I decided to get my data back..so i did advanced restore and did a system and data restore from cwm purple and now I am hosed..
where did i make the mistake and what can I do to bring it back to normal
On booting I m stuck at sansung logo... I am assuming my system restore screwed it up.
I believe I can do a odin again ( dont have access to pc) or
do full restore from cwm purple to ec05 rom (previous backup)
but other than that.. what other options do i have.
Well you restored your system which is the rom and if you were comming from froyo and restoring that data it could cause fcs... I recomend a wipe and flash the rom and don't restore anything for the best results.

I had trouble also restoring Data from my EC05 Backup. I restored App only using Titanium then only restored data on certain apps. Seems to work better.
The way I flashed EH06 was through ODIN, so I am assuming it has already done a wipe and flash...
so how can I get the rom and the data? if I am coming from froyo to GB?
I am able to get into cwm so tempted to just restore to prev build but modem may not be changed ..dont know about tht if it will cause issues or not.

I restored thru titanium also.. but it didnt do jack for some reason..
for eg..
I would see the unread email count on the app icon but when i hit email it would ask me to add a account.. same with sms.. show me 1 unread but when I opened it was blank. Contacts from the previous state were nt there.. it reverted back to default and any new additions on prev version didnt show up. so i m not sure what "data" titanium restored?
So now would a nandroid full restore get me back to where i was before flashing eh06?
seriously no replies?

Clean your phone up in cwm, wipe everything. Restore your previous nandroid then boot up and back up your apps with titanium. Flash the gb rom and then get titanium from the market again to restore your apps. Just your user apps, no system stuff this time.

You want to advance restore data only, no system. But best bet it always to restore apps through Titanium and then only data for apps you must have.
Hey.
i have an htc desire and yesterday put cm7 on it. (7.0.3) but if i reboot my phone all my installed apps are gone.. Only the standard apps (stock) are still availible..
HOW CAN I FIX THIS? Cause this really sucks..
Thanks in advance,
Marciej123
Did you backup your apps before you flashed the rom?
Sent from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
Yeah, Was running on RCMIXHD first but i just wanted an clean install so i saved all the .apks in an folder..
next i wiped everything and flashed the rom.. And then this happened..
edit: But the strange thing: When i install the apks it says already installed, and all settings are good (tweetdeck) so i dont have to login and stuff.. same for whatsapp, tapatalk.. and more.
Anybody knows the answer?
Am I missing something here? In the OP you say you lost all your apps but in your second post you say "...when I install the apks..." so you must still have the apps. Once you wipe your phone then flash a new ROM you have to re-install all your .apks anyway...unless I'm missing the point.
well i have an map on my SD with all my apk's... and i can install them. When installed its no problem. After reboot, all apps that i installed are gone..
Are you using a third party launcher? If so try swapping back to stock and see if that helps. If not swap back again to the third party launcher and see if they've hey prestoed back.
Also, try backing up using Titanium Backup. Makes life easier after installing new ROM. Then I'd try a full wipe and reflash your new ROM.
Your SD card is obviously mounted if you can access the .apk's so I'd try the steps above first.
Well it worked Awesome! Thanks!
Hiya I need help im rooted already I just need to ask when im backing my Apps with titanium back up do I back all system Apps aswell? Im still on standard rom with all the blur stuff.

If you plan to stay on same ROM. If not you don't need to a it will cause conflict
Got a Headache? It's all in your Head.
I used Titanium Backup before I switched to CM7 (note, CM7 had no market for me at first, I had to install it manually from here[url].)
Currently restoring all apps and system data. I backed up everything. Hope it works
I've used several different roms since I got my defy last February and I'm so glad I have Titanium Backup. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a backup solution on their android phone.
Thanks for the replys im going to put cm rom on but my question was in titanium app do I need to back up all the system Apps and my game Apps before I put c.m rom on. I would of thought that I wouldn't need all the motorola system when im putting cm on.
