Heya
I want my Wifi to turn off when the screen goes off. Right now I can only set it to go off after 15mins. Is there anyway I can get it to go off when the screen goes off ?
Cheers
MJ
Cyanogenmod has the option to turn off WiFi when screen goes off.
On sense roms you can try using tasker app to specify when screen off to shut off WiFi

I have perm root, bacon bits (new version for the track pad wake mod)
Every time I make a wi-fi call, it will drop when the screen turns off. I have the no sleep settings turned on for wifi.
It's as if the wi-fi calling app closes when the screen turns off and reopens when the screen turns back on.
Any ideas?

Well I re flashed stock kernel and it fixed it.
I don't have a light on my data connection sometimes when it's clearly on. I would have to tap it twice (one to turn off, and one to turn it back on) to get the light back. But even so, the light still goes out somehow. Any ideas how to fix this? I've only had this problem as of late.

At first, that's not a very serious problem. I am just wondering the reason behind.
The situation is that I used to turn on airplane mode when sleeping. Turn it off when wake up. I found that everyday I repeat this action, the wifi auto turn it on! Is that normal?

certainly not normal, i just tried on my gnex, wifi did not turn on.
Updated to stock ICS last night. Today I came across a glitch.
On Gingerbread, whenever the screen goes off it smoothly dims off. On ICS, it now dims with 2 clicks (like it dims half way, then goes completely off). The glitch kicks in when I turn on the screen, sometimes it doesn't come full brightness (the brightness that I have it set on). When that happens, I have to go into settings and touch the brightness bar for it to go back to normal. Anyone else noticing this?
Also fyi, I have auto brightness off.

Turning screen off has been like that on ICS. Turning on, mine is fine. I have seen what you are describing when using stock browser.

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a fix that when you have wifi turned on and are listening for example to a stream it will stop as soon as the display turns off.
With the Transformer Pad this is not the case for example.
May be there is a fix?
Best,

I know if you go into wifi settings and hit the menu key you can get an adavced mode and adjust the wifi policy there. A lot of roms I have seen on various phones have it set to turn wifi off when the screen goes off. I set mine to never turn wifi off and no more problems.
