2.2.1 Opions, Opions - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Android Development

Still too fresh to post in operating threads (I'd prefer too), never the less I HAVE to express my gratitude - Major KUDO's to the guys that have assembled and continue to work this to near perfection. On my TMo TP2 I've been running with 2.6.27.46-01202-g6c41ca6 (Glemson) and Build 20101010.204523. Aside what I don't use (camera, blue tooth, time being music), this rocks for me very much enjoy this well over sense, win., spb or the slew of other mods. No matter the complaint I see you stroke on and I for one THANK YOU for this obvious tremendous effort as it continues on!! You don't hear often enough THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's using an old build.
To the OP - always glad to hear satisfied "customers"!
With that said, I'd update that build - Oct.10? We've been pumping out test kernels if you're brave, and GlemSom's site I think is updated to 12/4... Unfortunately his machine is down, so the autobuild is down for the time being. I think he said it'd be back sometime in January.

oh okay but thanks anyways

Brave Indeed Sir
Been away sorry did'nt reply thanks Arrrgh for doing so. Yes this is a old build consisitently bounce back to it since it remains so reliable, though I do update often (maybe apply these wrong?) however none have remained in service as well as Octobers for me. More important is how awesome it is to slam my son's I-phone with my crusty TP2 and Froyo when he stops by (can't beat him in football or the nightly run anymore winning this way THANKS)

Ever satisfied?

I know that you hardcore coders and creators of these awesome works are constantly at it tweaking and improving ROM's. But are any of you guys ever just "satisfied" with a rom? Saying "yep, this is the one for me" a quick paypal tip and off you go.
I am still quite a newbie and just did my first flash a couple days ago. I believe it was vp3g. Overall pretty pleased, and by the time I add some of the apps that I like, and add some personal touches I am pretty content. Of course until I see the interface on Schap's, especially the upcoming things he's got going. That will likely be what I switch to if I do. My key desires are speed, UI, and mostly finger friendly. Thought I wanted iPhone-like but after trying things like ifonz I am not so sure. VERY nice program and look dont get me wrong. Just a bit cumbersome at times. Not to mention a program always running.
Just curious. Because if my phone had came with this rom, and its vastly improved speed I would probably have never looked into this stuff. But I am very glad I did as this stuff is awesome and I tip my hats to you all.
I understand your sentiment as some of us guys flash a ROM a week. I myself try to stick with one until another fixes some misgivings I have or has a feature that I want. I am going to try and stay with my present ROM as long as I can but you do get a bug for these things.
It's a pain in the arse really as just when I've configured things the way I want out comes a tempting new ROM, with new build and promises of improved stability and greater speed...

Cool. This is kind of my thoughts as well. It does take some time to get it to your liking. And then.....
Flashing freakes right here
Cmon, i flash rom's at least 4 times a day!
In the last month I have maybe flashed my rom thirty times at the least .
Right now sticking with v20 dhva lite as I got everything a five mb pp and thirty mb memmory.
Correction : Omnia build out, here we go again with flashing
hmm
I am about to say yes, there is, and that would be this latest ROM from the chef abusalza.
The thing is you always want to have the latest MS OS build, what ever device these clever chefs have ported. One build is guaranteed to be better than the next, and it is I feel a MS testing ground. And there are chefs that are out there now are amazing. A number has left us, and new ones are coming on board.
What a bunch of geeks, but yeah ... I am going to rest my flashing for a while now.
I get urges to flash, but mostly after testing most I go back to CRC's latest.
They just work best for me!
(hoping for a new dev build soon)
muahahahahaha NEVER!!!...jk...i usually try to look for the best performance and battery...most ROMs are the same just with the chefs preferences.my 0.02.take care

That's insane! So you do it stricktly for testing purposes? There is no way to tell if it's "the one" for you in such a time frame. Unless it's just horrible, like I said it takes time to get accustomed to it and make some changes.
I almost feel bad saying that I am going to change my starter rom (vp3G) just due to a few quirks I have found and things I have read and seen on the others that I am interested in.

Man. You go through ROM's like I go through beer, but without the hangover. Though I must say, I have never turned into a brick from drinking too much.

i know the feeling of never being satisfied, as of now i went through atleast 15-25 roms in 8 hours because i didnt like the last one. No lie, from 12:35am to 7:00AM.. i didnt have much of a problem with it because its a learning curve to see what each rom has to offer and that i backed up all my data

Sound??

Ive been looking around and around, and there is no talk about fixing the multimedia sound on Android for the TP2, is this something that is being worked on, if sound worked on android, I would use it 100% and I would give a donation too! can someone fill me in?
same here!
If you guys even TRIED TO READ THE FIRST post on the thread he had Specifically said that SOUND does not work.
Although, I think its a mattar of patience until it comes because I am as well excited for sound.
Read the threads!
Have faith, the 5/10 GPS update came with almost no hint of an update in the main thread, so it could surprise you. I wouldn't base the talk on here with what's going on with the devs. Especially because most of the regulars know to just play it cool and appreciate when updates do come, knowing that it is being worked on.

I have a feeling its gonna come sooner than we think. Might be as a surprise update that they dont tell us about and we just find out ourselves.
whats going to happen once everything is working on this build? No one would have anything to nag about to developers then... it be funny alot of times reading these threads with same questions asked Daily. People want to jump right into the mix without doing their own research. a little reading goes a long way up here, seriously.
Developers are awesome! Whoever complains is an unappreciative bastard.
After using it for a couple of days, I think power management is in higher priority for me. The battery runs way too hot and battery lasts a short period of time. With proper power management, we can use touch pro2 as everyday phone as long as legs or waists can sense vibration.
Sound is the next priority.

These kind of posts are funny because they strike me as being overly sensitive.
If you read the original post, it is NOT a complaint. And he wasn't being unappreciative. And no one said the Dev. are not awesome.
looks like someone had too much coffee.
i'll agree with outback, battery runs hot and battery does not last nearly as long as a normal winmo 6.5 boot. I don't think pm has been implemented

Battery is more important than camera

i'm using the xdandroid 03.05.10 | 2.1 builds which should be the lastest version , but the power consumption perform badly. it would take 12% of the electricity to setup a tiny program.
Although babijoee said " now camera is only left ", I don't think so.
there are still many bugs should be sloved , such as battery , usb connection and shutdown .
For me, Battery is more important than camera. without camera, Fuze is still a phone. but with battery bug ,i cannot use .
you guys did a good job , pls pay attention to bugs.
babijoee did a lot of good works, but actually lack the full functionality to improve the power drain, and the possibility of using Droid without WM (pure Android)
Calm down guys. Don't think the devs are ignoring these other issues, they realize it's not perfect. Be happy that they're sharing it with you!
Heck, it may never be considered a full replacement for WinMo - where they have gotten it today is very impressive. Perhaps with more fervent development the final big bugs will fall, and they can start focusing on the polish stuff, like a NAND. My point being, they know the battery is far from perfect. Chill.

TP2 Android biggest achievements... ---> Everything

Seems that the majority of threads recently have been complaints or 'gentle nudges' in the direction of what people are missong on there builds.
I'd just like to say, THANK YOU!
Thanks for all the people involved in this project for getting what we have so far. A 90% feature working phone build which as far as I can see isn't bricking people's phones. We have gone from android 2 to 2.1 and now 2.2. Some people who own OEM android phones are stuck at the stock version so we are lucky.
OK, the sound isn't working yet, and the camera doesnt work. Thats unfortunate, but there are people working on it. Its not like they have said "here is a build, no sound, no camera, no bluetooth, bye"
Lets remember that these dev's dont work for HTC or Google or Qualcomm and they aren't paid.
So before people post saying "biggest dissapointment" or "how long until ?" How about you spend 10 minutes having a read or even heaven forbid a SEARCH on the forum.
Thanks again everyone.

While at the moment i can't send my "thanks" through paypal, i really like to thank the devs for even making this possible. Not to mention that the 2.2 version is really noticeably faster and now flawlessly working with our exchange server on windows 2008 server! Even if not all features are working, i am very happy with it as it is today.
Thanks again!
yeah, +1 with the OP , just say thanks to all dev porting our device to android, so we can feel the taste of anis android. And don't complain about this and that, just THANKS.

Three cheers and all that. After going from the G1 to the MyTouch, to the Moment, to the Hero, to the Moment and back to Hero again, I have realised that for me, the Tilt 2 is my ideal hardware and I'm really not happy with any current Android phones. By porting Android to the Tilt 2, you are making my phone dreams come true, thans devs!
+1 Mucho BIG thanks to the entire Dev team.
Your work is exceptional and very much appreciated.
I'm really diggin' the froyo 2.2 build on my TP2
The rest will come when it comes.. Good things come to those who wait.. so keep waitin'.. once the dev team reaches another milestone you can bet your arses that they'll let us know.. They've done an amazing job thus far IMO
I just wanted to give a shout out to all the dev's for all your hard work. I know these things take time, but I am very thankful that you guys take the time out of your schedules to enhance these roms. Believe me you have more ppl who are very thankful as well. You can never underestimate the time that goes into putting these successful roms together!
guys, Rock it! Anyway you already made it possible! I am ready for a second birth for my TP2.
Xda n its developer's R the Best. I Love Android on my Tilt 2. I upstaged my pops with his EVO whn I showed him that I have a newer android version and sdk than him. ;-) Like I've been saying, this is by far the best mod/app that I've ever done to a device. Keep up the Good Work.

The fact that we have any sort of Android build running on the device AT ALL is a gigantic achievement, and for FREE non the less.
Thank you guys for all of your hard work and support. Just goes to show you what a strong community can accomplish.
Bluetooth, camera, and sound would be nice, BUT WE ARE RUNNING FREAKIN' ANDROID 2.2 ON A RHODIUM HERE! AMAZING!
Thanks again devs =)
O hai ther! Wen can we have blueteeth and soundz and camras and opinglz and go faster plz. Kthnxbai.
Didn't even notice the sound and camera didn't work, was too excited to see Android on my TP2.
Thanks to everyone working on this project.
risc999
+1 for the devs here!... actually +100
yeah this is truly appreciated, since now Sprint's SERO plan doesnt allow us to upgrade to an actual Android running phone. TP2 is probably the best smartphone available to those on the SERO plan.
Anyhow this is great, I really didnt wanna have to get outta my $30/ Month plan just to get an EVO or ANYTHING with android. This really is a thankful person here.
Biggest achievement... Hmm that's hard... Perhaps porting a foreign system to a device which actually (besides missing camera BT etc) actually works better than the device's native system. Major kudos to the dev team!

Please respect the devs, they have put in countless hours of UNPAID work to get where we are now. We certainly dont want to make them upset with unwitting comments.

Why doesn't damage control gets updated like the other roms anymore
He's providing a public service and these guys have lives outside of the forum as well. He may or may not put up any updates. What he has out so far is pretty stable and is of good quality.
Take this as an opportunity to try out some of the other Devs work out there
I'm pretty sure he has a life now. He got married and would actually like to spend time with her.

Yeah trev and damageless are super talented and I would love to see more from them, but if they also decided to "go out and play" for a bit it is totally cool. I do hope they're secretly working on The Monster Rom and nobody knows it yet. /dream
The lack of information from Treve and Damage have made me move away from their DC. I understand all too well that they have every right to do whatever they wish, but they have a community using their work that is left abandoned without any word of if they are working on something, taking a break, etc.
They just went silent.
they did reply a while back to let us know they were working on dconfig. now it was a few weeks ago.
I personally dont think DC is dead. Most of the updates that are done to all these other roms are minor tweaks and changes that rarely at least for me fix or change my performance and experience.
I think people are getting spoiled by the nightlies and frequent updates that a few roms put out MOST roms do not update every few days. Also most people cant name off much that actually needs updated with dc 3.5 that would make a major impact. they jsut want an update for updates sake.
Here is how this question will be answered. there is an ota update coming soon. If dc doesnt have an update to incorporate this ota then it is probably safe to say that DC is on hold (I am sure after the honeymoon phase etc we will see DL back).
Until then the rom uis solid has the major features has good performance and stability. All these minor tweaks that dont actually do much that some roms up out jsut to say they updated may make you feel good ... but it isnt really needed 90% of the time. It is just weird to me that when something works and works well people still thinkt here should be tons and tons of updates and go to roms that have a lot more problems and need updates and fixes to try to fix them all and praise it.
