Hello All,
I have been very lucky to acquire an LG GW910 phone which is now working very well.
My phone has OS version 7.0.7003.0 on it, but I have read that the phones that are currently available are running 7.0.7004. Does anyone know why my phone does not update to the latest version?
Will it receive the update that is expected at the beginning of 2011?
Thanks for your comments

when the phone is a retail (got it in a shop) one than you will get an update but when it is pre-retail(test phone/demo) then I don't know.
this may be a lil condescending but i don't mean it to be as sometimes the simple things get over looked (i know from personal experiences) have you checked that both tick boxes are ticked under the phone update tab in settings. I know the phone is supposed to check under wifi or when plugged in anyway but i wouldn't put my faith in this.
Hello,
Don't worry... I didn't take your comment badly... yes... both options are checked, and I have also asked the Zune client to check for updates.
The phone was won at one of the developers conferences, but I don't think that makes a difference does it? Why would a developer not receive the updates for their phone?
Oh well... when the update comes out, I am sure that I will then find out if I get it!!
If anyone can confirm if I will or will not get the update, your comments are much appreciated.
Regards.

My request for confirmation:
From the Pdf I got from WMPoweruser I read that updates on WP7 will not require any reinstallation, it will be seamless process - after update you get your phone at the same state it was before.
Anyone?
Anyone.........?

I stopped by the other S4 forum (i9500/i9505) and noticed users reporting a new firmware update. Some mentioned faster transitions and camera updates as well as some other things.
Has anyone got a Ota of this? Or would we (T mobile) not get it?
Also wondering... if your rooted, would you even get a notification about it?
Thnx

The firmware of the international version is not the same as firmware released by carriers. Carriers add a lot of stuff to their firmware and they do their own testing on them. It may take months for a carrier to release an update after the international version got it.
Since this is a new phone, I am sure T-Mobile will eventually release an update (most likely several updates). Just be patient.

I found a website that has manual firmware updates for the different variations, but unfortunately I didn't save it. It's out there though, just Google it and I'm sure you'll run across it like I did, sorry couldn't be more assistance, if I find it again I'll post the link.
Edit: Okay I found it quicker than I thought I would, lol. Here's the link, hope it helps:

Thanks for the clarification and info guys.
Definitely patient.. I dont have many issues w my s4 except home key timing, so I was hoping for fix.
Maybe some one can take a look at new firmware and see if there is any info within that could benefit our (tmo) devices?
I would do it but im not as proficient and knowledgable as some of our other members.

I have the i9500 and got the update a few days ago. The description from the update manager was "improved stability" which means they are ironing out the kinks. Another thing that is going to be updated and will surely be on your variant is locked kernels. This is a kernel level that blocks superuser from even executing code. Workarounds will have to be found/kernels compiled.

if you're referring to the home button lag, then just disable s voice like everybody else did, even back in the days of the S3. go into the s voice app and hit the settings button on lower left of your phone, then tap settings, then un-check the 2nd option "open via the home key".
as far as updates, t-mo is usually the 1st or 2nd carrier to get it in the US, but nothing yet. i'm hoping they'd fix the camera shutter lag that i love from the old s3. sigh...
Hello:
I have completed an OTA update of my Moto G 2nd Gen, and everything went smoothly, except for a pop-up after restart, giving me 3 options in some "pirate" lingo...
Fine and dandy, except I chose option 3 - "Take me to the deep", or something similar, - and that took me to the change log and release notes.
OK, but now there is an exclamation mark in the notification area, saying "LineageOS Settings", and a phrase "Ye be on the way to Davy Jones' Locker, me hearties".
It's rather funny, of course, but what exactly is this, and how do I get rid of it?
It's really annoying at this point...
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device.

You might consider re-flashing the previous zip file. No need to wipe anything first. This has worked on the three devices I've tried it with so far. Good Luck.
April fools joke @Ibuprophen you know better. Why do you always post a link to device forum? Like having a bot running for.
Not necessarily a funny joke

Personally, I wouldn't bundle a joke in with a scheduled update, nor would I expect my entire user community to effortlessly know how to remove it. Some jokes are harmless. Others are not. Perhaps I am just one of those people who wants to be able to TRUST the software I am installing (and no, I am not so blind as to assume I always can). Lord knows there are enough malicious types out there messing with enough things as it is. I am sure that, as a joke, no one at LOS was actively trying to be cruel (at least I hope not) but there are 'inside' jokes you can share with your closest associates, and jokes that are meant for global consumption. Most adults who "know better" know the difference between the two, that's all.

Thank you for the suggestion. Well, if it is an April Fools joke, it might be funny, but not being able to clear it from a notification area is actually a nuisance. I truly hope that Lineage will release another build to clear this up - I rely on my phone a lot, and although I am all for having a bit of fun, I certainly prefer a clean, well polished and smoothly running interface, that does not detract me from whatever I am doing at the moment. As a short time fix, I had to delegate Lineage OS system notifications to the bottom of the stack, just to get rid of an exclamation mark...
You are very welcome. We all are supposed to be here to be mutually supportive, after all ANYWAY - if re-flashing the last update, which in my cases left everything else about my devices unaffected, is an unsavory choice, there were some other suggestions about minor build.prop edits, etc.. which I am confident would also do the trick. Last year's LOS 01 April joke was some passive "mascot" animation and the updates after 08 April removed it. I think it is reasonable to expect the same will happen this year, and it looks as if the relevant postings on lineage.org now reflect that (which I do NOT recall seeing there yesterday, but at this point, who cares ?). As for me - I guess I will just avoid installing future LOS updates plus or minus a week from 01 April. If letting the developers blow off some steam by making these sorts of things keeps things moving forward, so be it. Good Luck.
@F3nn3c and Everyone Else...

Hi,
I got the update today, so for an april fool joke it's late, and kinda bad since we cannot remove the notification easily.
Anyone have a suggestion to remove it without root?
I did not root my phone because some app does not work with it root, and I did not wanted to search for 3 days to make them work on root.
As previously mentioned ......

Without root, the best approach is probably to dirty flash the previous build - don't clear caches, etc.... At least, it worked for the three devices I used that approach on. OR, wait patiently until 08 April. The next set of updates will remove the nonsense if they are true to their "lineage."
Sadly, on a scale of 1 to 10, not very bright. Good Luck.

Hey guys
Shouldn't we all get the updates at same time? Since we are pixels I was expecting to be something similar to apple and when an update rolls out everyone get it...
I'm in beta pp3 and looks like a lot of people got the ota update for pp4 and I did not... How is that possible? Anything that I need to do on my device to get it? I don't want to do it manually I just want to get my OTA updates in time.. There's anyway to push it to my device?
Thanks for your time and help in advance

Yeah, a lot of folks think as you do, however, it doesn't seem to work that way. It can take up to a week before everyone gets their OTA. You could go to settings/system/system updates and see if it comes through. Other than that, if you don't want to do it manually, patience is your best ally

The carriers push it out????
Google does stage roll-outs. It can take up to 2 weeks for everyone to get it.
If time is an issue for you, they provide factory images, as well as OTA files for download and manual application.
Staged roll outs are the only way servers and bandwidth do not exceed limits. If not they would be a kind of dos attack on themselves.
It's a patient roll out...
I just restarted the phone and I got the update instantly... But while tapping to check for updates no... So weird ??*
Just started downloading a software update. It appears to be pretty big update size because I have fast wifi and it is taking a while to download.
Anyone else getting update? Anyone know what the changes are in this update? I will report back after download completes and see what version it is.

I don't have AT&T myself but, if you Looked at/posted this question within the Dedicated Device Area that this applies to, you may be able to obtain some additional information regarding your specific question.
As a guess myself... If it's recently released, then it's probably due to a heavy server load reflecting allot of individuals downloading it as well.
Good Luck!

Hi Guys,
First, humble apologies if I have asked this question in the wrong section and if there is already an answer to this - I just couldn't find one after a cursory search.
My Pixel 3 XL recently upgraded itself to Android 10 from Pie.
I have noticed a number of issues with the "upgrade", as have others it would seem.
Anyway I would like to roll back to Android Pie.
Can someone tell me, show me, how I can go about doing this please?
Instructions in easy to follow simpleton English would be gratefully appreciated
Thanks in advance.
All the best,
Keith

Probably cant roll back. If you are OEM unlocked you could try Fastboot but with each major upgrade - they change certain BL / Security Versions so you cant roll back.

Hi,
Sorry but I am not sure what you mean, especially this bit: "they change certain BL / Security Versions so you cant roll back"
I have read in the various news reports, and on the Google support page, that those who have had issues with their Pixel 3 XL after the upgrade to 10 fixed their issues be downgrading back to PIE.
So I am guessing it can be done but I haven't got a clue how to do it.

Everything is right there, this will wipe your device. If you aren't comfortable with what is there, you probably should just stay on 10, and wait for fixes to roll out.

Greeting from a fellow grey haired android user. Flashing old versions etc used tobe quite easy on these phones but things changed a few years ago to have slots and some othe mallarky which has made messing about with the phone a bit more complicated and very touchy.
I used to muck around a lot but I keep clear and keep it simple these days. Any problems I will do a factory reset and if problems still arise I will reset without restoring data.
Wifi calling was not working on mine after updating but this was down to vodafone rather than google and it's sorted now.
Nice hearing comments like thick as pig manure on here
I ended up re-setting the phone and restoring from a backup.
That was fun
Still had lost of settings to sort out and for some reason it didn't back up my custom sounds so has to re-install all of those.
Alas the phone is still misbehaving a bit so I hope Google push out some fixes for these issues soon.
if you unlock your bootloader you can then easily roll back to P
I sure hope Google release a fix for this soon, using my Pixel 3XL has become a real pain since the update to 10

Nope, I have done a clean restore as well.
Also the apps that are playing up and not responding to touch are Googles built in apps, like the messaging app for instance, so it is not just a third party app issue either.
