[ATTENTION] Calling all Dev's, Lets begin NANDROID for Blackstone! - Touch HD Android Development

Guys & Gals,
We really should start focussing on android on NAND for us blackstone users.
I will be glad to help and I will be updating this post and the below on my progress.
The Rhodium have now fixed their panel issues they were experiencing on nand thanks to ACL.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=870081
(BLACKSTONE USERS DO NOT FLASH ANY FILES FROM THE ABOVE LINK - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED)
As I have said beforehand we will need to trace the NAND memory access points via haret to input the correct values into the tinboot source before compiling, once that has been done we can create a nbh with a kernel and all other relevant files to initialise tinboot. I will have a crack at that so that we at least get tinboot loaded but I may need some help from willing developers if any.
Once we have tinboot sucessfully initialised we will then move onto the more daunting task's of booting the userland and initialising hardware as at the moment winmo is doing that for us.
Welcoming any developers wishing to help.
Best Regards,
ST1Cl<^^aN

good idea man
but sorry i didn't have any knowledge a bout that
all what i can say is goooo ahead man

I think that's a great ideea but first we need the nand map which is hard and tricky to obtain . After that, it will be a piece of cake .

Go go go
Devs, please do this. Sorry to say I dont have any usefullness in the project. Maybe as a tester

Well, for now there's no Blackstone specific development (at least @ #htc-linux) because there are no devs with our phone. Camro and OliWe went AWOL and even people with much less skill are not active at the moment.
Anyway if we'll find just one person interested in doing this - I'm happy to help (testing/building/research/tracing).

maybe we could ask other devs to help us
like neopeek???..............

I'm sure they will help us, but we REALLY need someone with Blackstone & coding skills to do NAND boot. Other devs are busy fixing bugs in "common" kernel or their specific devices.
BTW. Neopeek won't help because he builds Android system and we need a Linux kernel guys.

If I can get hold of DZO things can progress further hopefully. I will keep you all updated.

maybe
as we are not developers
and neopeek webiste has a developer forum which we can see at the moment
but he might be working on it with other developers
i hope

of course you could always ask neopeek . Maybe some other guys over at neopeek can help you.
NAND for our blackstones would be awesome . I'd love to test it when it's done. Will be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.

me too

yes we all would love that but we need a lot of kernel level development, porting, hacking and testing before we could move to NAND.

yh but since other android build have not been updating yet
maybe of the holidays or gingerbeard
looks like the updates might come next year (january i hope)

if some one get nand to work i will donate him really if the first person with full functions work with nand ill donate the person 20 usd!

Would be great if Magldr or LK worked with our Blackstones. I don't know how much work it would be since I'm not a hardcore programmer. Right now a lot of focus is on HD2 and Rhodiums though. Hope devs are not forgetting Blackstone.

This is indeed a sad trend i've also noticed, no one really seems to care about our poor blackstone :/

WM6.1 For Blackjack II (i617)

I can't really find much discussion on this, or any other boards for this.
Anyone think WM6.1 will be coming to the BJII or if it's hackable to work on it?
I have no idea how to go about it, so all I can do is request it....

dump the rom ... find a way to do bootloader mode .... maybe somebody can help porting it
if u hv time & willing to try, see thread on

Take a look over at http://www.txcaesar.net
We have WM6.1 working on the BJ1, I have no BJII device to test with however
Also, I have posted there in the forum an itsutils script to automate dumping of the ROM, and also a copy of the dumped ROM
txcaesar? Aren't you the ones that were charging for the MPx200 upgrade that I had for free at mpxupgrade? Or were you the ones that helped me get it up and offer it for free?
Anyway, thanks for the link. Looks like the BJII has been dumped and uploaded to your site. I have no idea how to progress from there, but if no one does it before easter /summer break, guess I may give it a try then...
Charging for a ROM upgrade? I find the notion amusing.. (I would never do that)
I could cook up a BJII ROM, but i have no device to test with, and so far no one else is crazy enough to risk bricking their device

I'm willing to try if you want to create a ROM for the BJII
does flashing a rom unlock the device as well ?
i had got a at&t blackjack2 and i looking at unlocking it.
any help
typically the phone must be unlocked before cooked ROM could be flashed.
To my knowledge there isn't a free option available to unlock the i617 yet.
Hey, guys, has anything happened with this? I too would love to upgrade. Based on prior experience, AT&T won't be releasing an official upgrade for another 4-6 months.
Someone needs to give MOHBY a hand extracting the ROM from his i617(thread below) and we will all be happy campers.

i have a sgh-i617... but it is locked in AT&T... is there a way to use it in any other network?... i have to say that contacting AT&T is not an option...

Information about bootloader, bootstrap recovery etc ?

Dear community,
We have our Defy section which is totally awesome. Now it's time to begin the real work here.
I wanted to spend some time with the Defy Android development and wanted to know if we could gather information about the bootloader, kernel and the bootstrap recovery here.
I just want to know how Motorola tries to secure their phones and how we could work around the protection.
Every helpful post is welcome. Let's see if we can beat Motorola and make the Defy one of the best phones around (or is it already?...no doubt is awesome!)
Best regards,
DunkDream
This site should be of some use.
https://www.droid-developers.org/
lots of info about motorola devices and all about the boot processes, hardware ect. Hope this helps.
And see here. Custom recovery is on the way along with custom roms.
I didn't understand if for the defy there is still a bootloader problem to solve or if it's a question to find cookers who have time to make a defy custom rom...Anybody have some fresh news?
Trust me since Handler got his defy you will have a custom recovery and roms. He does good work, just be patient
He does seem confident about it I sure hope to get froyo on this rugged little beast

Yes, at least for C2DM capability!
I'll buy a beer to Handler when he suceeds!
anyone know where can i find a Tmo defy sbf?
It seems that Handler already started to work with the Motorola Defy.
Hope he realizes that the Defy is such a great phone.
I'm sure that he'll do it...he'll get us a receovery method and custom Roms.
AND he can be sure to get a donation if he succeeds. That's a point of honour.
Hope then good news from Handler...
Anyway this is my very firt android device I know few things about cooking in the android world I cooked some winmo roms and I don't know if there are similarities. Many of you have some experience in this field so I ask you an advice on where I could start to learn the structure of the android roms and the tools to use...

Thanks I'll have a look at it I am a bit curious to learn more on Android...
I remember doing a TP (test point) helped to flash cracked bootloader on my older Motorola...
Can it apply to our Android device?
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
Hi,
i guess no one will do it!
Maybe there is no interesst in cooking own bootloader to kill closed booloader from moto.
Hacking the bootloader will also be easy for hackers (perferct hackers )
But no one do it.
it seems all people with the capacity to hack the bootloader aren't interested in doing it.

Custom ROM for FlipSide MB508

Hello!
I bought an used FlipSide MB508, and would like to upgrade it in some way, so I wonder if may be some news about a custom rom at this date, since the last messagues are from some time ago.
Also,I wonder if there is so much diference or if may be possible to upgrade the MB508 with a custom rom of the BackFlip since over the net, seems like if they may possible be very similar if not the same internal hardware.
Also, wonder if could be possible to use some utility for get Apps2SD under the 2.1 android and also if may be possible some trick to make available JIT enable in order to try to improve memory use and some speed on the MB508.
Thanks for attention and best regards!
Hey man...I've asked about tying a backflip ROM and the general response is that it wont wokr...I havent tried it but it seems to be general knowledge. charm and FlipOut ROMs will work but there is little development on those as well. As for the other stuff...not sure man
Hello JBallin4life27!
Thanks for take time to reply, ...well, if may be possible that FlipOut ROMs, then may be some hope in the Angel ROM, may You know if in that case the FlipOut ROM could be simple directly installed over a FlipSide or may be required some mod by a developer.
Thanks again and best regards!
Yea i'm hoping the Angel ROM might work. I've checked it out already and so far it isn't functional for the FlipOut or Flipside yet. I did try the soft ROM with no motoblur and it worked but it def needs to be modified a bit to properly work for the Flipside so I'm assuming the Angel ROM would need to be modified as well....but that's just my assumption and in my experiences assuming things doesn't always get you to the truth you seek lol.
