My appologies - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III Android Development

So uh, to the guy I said Sense would never work on our kaisers. I just got it working via the vogue port someone did. Theres no working phone on it yet and I had to fight with it to get it running but its a start. Our hardware can do sense, we just need to improve the build.

incredible device isn't it.

When will there be CDMA Desire Roms?

I just rooted my cdma desire and would like to know if anyone will be wokring on a rom for my phone
How did you do that? Unrevoked 3.2 Isn't out yet is it
Look at their twitter. They tell you how to get a test version.
Sent from my USCC HTC Desire using the XDA App
thats for the heads up. rooted now also.. need a 2.2 now. lol
im wondering how similar the desire is to the incredible or the evo.. i wonder if it could run some of their roms?
the inc is very similar. and would prob work. if it has slcd support. i dunno though. risky. although one should be able to restore a backup
Now someone just has to get the courage up to do it.

Just to let you know
I've rooted my cdma desire and I've tried flashing a couple gsm roms. None of which would boot. If you try flashing any roms on your own make 100% sure you have a backup made because you will end up with a semi-brick and I'm sure nobody here wants to hear you whine about what's a recovery menu.
I've been thinking about making a ROM but I have zero experience. I'm doing a lot of reading but if there are any developers who want to work on a rom, that would be awesome.
i made one with some tweaks that works also i am working on porting a froyo version

they are almost identical but for some reason the wifi and bluethooth would not work on a inc rom that i ported even though they are the same chip
I recently got my desire CDMA rooted also, but i used to hangout over in the G1 forum so i kinda know my way around android & root. let me know if i can help with anything. my twitters @BuddhaTeh1337
You can find some CDMA roms here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10469759&postcount=2. Happy flashing !

Anybody needs a Testdummy twom?

If anyone has any jailbreaking/ROM snatching ideas but are too afraid to use the software on their twom I can be your test dummy, a part of my phone broke and I got a new one. The broken one is still fully functional, just the mic doesnt work, however I can test any software or any trial runs of anything if needed, just post here
BTW i know there hasn't really been any progress in anything and nothing can really be done at all until we get ahold of a ROM or the drivers, just thought Id offer, since ive been paying attention to these forums for about seven months and haven't chimed in

[Q] I may start developing for CDMA Xperia Play.

Would anyone be interested in testing things out?
I have two R800X's now and don't really feel like unlocking the bootloader on my new one to test things for a MIUI blend for the phone. I'm on Alltel that didn't get bought out by Verizon. I just messed up my old phone's data connection by trying to combine FXP and MIUI with different Kernels before getting a new one (thank you phone insurance) I edited myself.
I know this probably turns you off, but I know enough about Linux kernel programming, C langauges, and Java that I'm watching Black Dynamite at the moment.
Just give some feedback.
I've been missing some MIUI goodness on my R800x. If you can somehow get it working, I'd jump on board.

I can't really test if it's 100% working. What I did have completely screwed up my phone's data connection, so it's just pretty much an Android tablet that plays games now and gets wireless.
I'll mess around with the scripts some more and test it on a friend's phone after I'm certain it won't mess it up. I don't really post on here much, because there's usually already enough information that I don't need to. I assumed Hogwarts would start scripting some ROMS since he said he was unlocking his bootloader and his COLA ROM is pretty much flawless for locked ones.
So you do have wifi, then?
Hmm... if my Play wasn't my main phone, I'd test it out, too. But if it completely borked data on your phone, I'm not so sure I'm ready to make that commitment. Good luck, though!
Yeah, everything worked perfectly except for 3G and a few other things. It wouldn't work worth a **** after a Nandroid restore, so there's still a few things I need to fix. I'm not going to post anything on here unless I know things are working enough to post.
Touch screen is still a bit iffy and the wifi is only working with DooMKernel and his drivers. I have no clue about bluetooth, since I don't have a headset. I'm also having trouble with the O key presenting itself as a back button.
There will probably be a much better ROM before I get what I'm working on finished, as I work from 7-3. When there is, I'll unlock the bootloader on the new phone too. I'll continue working on what I have been until then and hope it works correctly.

HTC One V Dead

So I bought my gf a one v and she loves it. One month after using it (stock, unrooted) it just went dead. Doesn't charge and doesn't get into bootloader (but not the QHSUSB_DLOAD and Blank Screen issue). Guy at repair told me that this was an issue with the ICS kernel causing a hard brick. Now, I naturally sent phone for repair since it is a warranty case. So far so good, lets just hope they get it done fast.
My question is though: should I root device and flash another ROM with presumably no such issues so I can avoid a future brick? I mean, I'm using a rooted desire and have no issues for over 2 years, now just didn't want to mess with the new phone of my gf and thought 'hey, lets keep it stock'... But the thought that it would die again after having it repaired is really discouraging. My gf is kind of frustraded and I don't want this to happen again. But are there such issues with custom ROMs for the One V? Like I said, I'm using the good old desire and don't know much about the one v, so I would really apreciate if you can tell me - because if such an issue is possible on custom roms, there is no point to bother flashing and voiding warranty.
Thanks for your time guys!
Well at the moment we have only modified stock ROM for this device and one custom kernel (in beta state) which is still an ICS kernel.
However you''ll never know whether this happens again or not. But one thing you can know for sure is that if you unlock the bootloader and install a custom kernel and ROM and it happens again then your are screwed because you lost your warranty.
Maybe you should wait a bit for some stable custom rom. Because an unstable and buggy ROM would make your gf even more frustrated and andgry
Oh well, thanks for the insight my friend..So, If I got this right, if I root and flash one of the current roms and it bricks again, I will still not be able to acces bootloader? And is this really a kernel issue with ICS? I'm willing to even flash a GB rom, if it is possible, in order to avoid this...gf won't mind for sure lol, if this delivers a stable phone in the future
P.S. Does this even happen with other ICS roms/on other stock ICS devices? Or did HTC just screw up on this one? I can understand a phone bricking when changing hboots or other tinkering, but just dieing like that is pretty damn stupid. And from what I read it happens to quite a few other one v users...Hope noone of you guys gets to experience this crap

1. In no other galaxy, no other planet... IT IS NOT A KERNEL FAULT! it may at well be a piece of poorly made phone. you should get another one from the warranty. I can 100% say that you will not have any problems. The kernel doesn't suddenly causes hard brick to your phone. If it does, do you know how many phones running ICS are there? Or One V's...
I have flashed alpha/beta/final kernels/roms for millions of times, no problems whatsoever.
in no way this is a kernel/soft problem. more likely the flash drive from your gf's phone, died!

Thx dude, I was sort of wondering how this could really be a kernel problem, since the guy over at the repair told me so - 'Its a kernel issue with ICS'... well, I hope he was really wrong and the device we receive (hopefully soon) will be proper

That guy should really make his homework. In no way a kernel can brick the phone. If this was true, the phone will not boot and work for weeks in the first place. Its not like the kernel has a "time-bomb" inside and it triggers when it is set.
As I said, it is a phone problem, something hardware has failed.
Hopefully it will be fixed for you gf and she will not have any problems in the future.
It happens in India too
My htc one v got bricked suddenly while using it. Forums at internet says it happens if battery charge goes below certain limit. Mine it went down to 24%
It happened to me when my battery level was 14%. now I have to pay 200$ for repairs. (because I live in Iran.)

Has development for the glide gone belly up?

I've loved this phone since I got it, and was terribly excited when it was successfully rooted. Many roms sprung up by a few devs, such as dman, and thegreatergood. But now, dman is prioritizing his daily driver, which is fine. Thegreatergood has disappeared due to personal reasons, which is also fine. I don't demand updates or anything, however it seems all the other smaller devs abandoned the device. Thegreatergood has 5 jellybean roms in the dev forum, and sadly none of them have been touched by anyone in almost a month. I'm starting to see issues with every 4.2.2 rom spontaneously fast booting, and there is no mention of any updates on Jelly Bean.
Basically, what I'm trying to ask is, is anyone out there working on something? I know asking for ETA's is a no-no, but I'm just asking if anyone has adopted development for this device? I use this phone for everything, and I'm not able to change to some of the more "preferred" devices such as the Nexus series. Is there anyone who knows of anything coming soon?
Sorry for the little wall of text, I'm just kinda sad that the glide seems to be dying off.
Worried about this too, the DEV section of forum seems to be totally dead.
AT&T seems to abandon this device too, since hasnt release a proper ICS ROM (It was like "Oh, ICS didnt work, lets leave it on GB").
Have to stay at GB because of that
dman with do what he can, I am sure. Other than that, I think development is dead.

Are there any decent QWERTY phones out there or any coming up this year?
I love this phone and it seems like there is no suitable replacement out there.
i would have to say that development isnt exactly dead... but its dying quickly... this phone isnt the main focus of the devs that hash out roms and tweaks for it anymore (for some not sure it ever was)... its an older phone now, there are bigger better phones out there (have been for a while). granted this is probably still the best qwerty phone, the interest to develop full time for it isnt.
i am sure here soon dman will put out whatever he is working on.... eventually...
in my opinion dont expect a 100% fully functional custom rom that isnt based on the stock ics... the only one i could say that is there is literom... all others out there arent even close.... we wont ever see 100% working JB...
Yeah, for a while I was checking in daily and flashing some patch, mod or rom like once a week! I am still happier on CM 10.1 than I was on GB or even the very nice ICS literom, but it would be great to see the list of fixes get worked on like they were.
I guess we are being put out to pasture, but I sure appreciate all the Devs did to help keep this phone feel great as long as it did!

I'm part of the Covenant Team as well as a co-dev for the IcePop rom. All I can say. Is that I know most of the other devs are either spending more time with their families with the near stable roms having been released, and maybe a few are back in school for the spring semester. I personally looked into the graphical and appearance of the roms, not as much of the coding due to computer technical issues and spacial issues with my hard drive. But don't give up hope just yet! Our glide may have a comeback soon. who knows. There are still a ton of we glide users in this community that are working behind the scenes to push out either patches or completely new roms.
Nevermind.
You are kidding right? The dev forum is full of different roms for all tastes, ICS, JB, the like. As far as I am aware, nobody got a "free phone" as you say. People just donated to dman (who paid for his Cappy out of his own pocket), and rightfully so because he and thegreatergood put our phone on the map again with great ROMs and updates.
Vanilla Rootbox has been my DD for a while now. The 4.2.2 roms have very few issues and none of those affect me fortunately.

Hmm, I don't think this is true. I got the busted ICS update for these devices when it was out before it was pulled. It was then posted a few weeks later again with the proper fix. You have to go through Kies, but you should have an ICS update for your device, at least to 4.0.4..
Really hope it hasn't died but at this point I am considering moving back to ICS just so my sound works properly. Sucks. If my VOIP calling worked correctly, CM10 is exactly what I want. Its so smooth and less bloated than the official ICS ROMs. I wouldn't even be considering a new device this year if we could get the sound issues fixed. But its gone on so long now that I would just like a straight answer from the few devs we have - is this issue ever going to be addressed?
I'm as happy as anyone to have any sort of development for the Glide and none of the developers owe us a thing. But this has been an issue for so long now, I wish we could just get a straight answer. Working on it, can't be fixed or they just don't care. Any answer is better than nothing at this point.
I really like the glide, because a like the tegra graphics for games, but, i like switch roms too. I hope that someone come to help us. Maybe we must wait a little more
Hi to all. I've tryed different roms till now. Im a noob still regarding android development, but i'm trying to learn a bit. I would definately love to have the VOIP calling enabled, photosphere less lag at wakeup for 4.2.2 and no lag for voice calls. Regarding photosphere, i've tryed it with every rom available i set permissions and everything. As far as what i observed is on 4.2.2 I can get 1 photo and then the app simply close. On ICS i can take up to 7 - 8 pics and after that the app close.

I would be happy to be wrong, but as far as I know ATT has released ICS with much errors, after that released the GB again to roll everyone back.
Also, all the versions of ICS have the deep sleep issue, so they are totally unusable as a phone itself.
People that asked ATT support for a solution had unacceptable answer like "Reboot your phone once a day".
As for Kies, my phone is not recognized with any rom to update so I do everything manually.

The best answer I can give... Actually read the development section for our device...
ICS IcePop Rom -modded UCLJ3)
UCLJ3 rooted (ICS -the fixed one-)
you guys complaining about ICS need to read up through the development forum before coming here to complain...
as for JB users (including myself)
Liquid Smooth (has working panorama, video (with sound), sound recording, and skype like apps work)
To be honest, liquid smooth i dont try it a lot, but in the issues say, that skype doesnt work

Lol, and what?
I've mainly been reading the dev section for all the time, and tried most of the roms availible there.
Stock and modified 4.0.4 has problems with the GSM deep sleep issue, so do all the roms above 4.0.4 (4.1 and 4.2). All this makes a good toy out of the phone, but looses the main purpose - recieve calls and sms on time.
And yes, I've already tested the 4.2.2 version of liquid smooth, but skype and bluetooth are not working, as stated in OP.
