Hi Boys,
I'm an Italian boy, this morning my Desire said me that there is an update for my system.
In this moment is impossible for me install the update.
Do you have this message? There are news in the system?
Did you try checking for updates again, in settings go to "about phone" and tap on the first option "check for updates" or something like that, if it doesn't prompt you at the first try, check it at least a few more times without exiting.
If you want to know what is changed (probably not much) you should tell us the number of the update file and whether you are branded.

Automatic updates > from phone settings menu, not working? How does it looks on Your
Hello all
I recently saw in my phone settings menu option for "automatic checking of firmware update" and also "check for update"
And a question is - does it work on your defy?
I have 2.51 firmware - so i think latest one, but anyway when i click "check for update" new (black) screen appears, with text "checking for update, please wait".... And thats all. It stays on this screen forever, and nothing happens..
No feedback - for ex. that i have the latest one, or sth..
How exactly this works on your defy? I am warried because i think i may had removed some important apk from /system/app
I heard FOTA is responsible for updates? But i didnt delete that one....
so: how exactly this "check for update" works on your defy?
Yes mine did the same thing last week where it was just continuously searching. It is now ok and searches for a few seconds then says phone is up to date.
yesterday i searched for updates in phone menu and it said as it always did "checking for updates is unavailable. tray again later" so i decided to try motorola software updater and guess WHAT? it updated from 2.34 to 2.51.
i think the servers aren't online, or i don't know. but on 5 devices in my country says the same message when checking for updates.
Hi Folks,
I have a rooted .145 and want to check now and then if the .368 is available.
Unfortunately, the "Software update" option in Settings->‘About phone’ is not longer visible. Has anyone had this problem?
The only reason I may think of is that I removed bloatware using Root Explorer and the guidelines in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089470
I thought removed some .apk but now I restored all of them back and still the Software update option is not showing.
Hints?
Just use flash tool and reflash, will be easier.
From my phone to your eyes.
Or double check permissions for any apps you replaced.

Couldn't find the reason and I gave up.
I reflashed to the latest version, rooted, starting from the UK generic baseline one and doing OTA on top of that.

All other options to have latest rooted just failed.

Hi! My HTC Wildfire S became laggy so i decided to do a hard reset.
After doing that, i'm stuck with a few problems:
1) My Android version is 2.22.405.1. When i search for system
updates, it says, that my phone is up to date. I read, that
2.3.5 is officialy available, i'd like to have at least 2.3.3, but first
i'd just like to get notice, that update is available. I resetted the phone
few more times, but every time there are no updates.
2) I entered gmail account with market and it found updates for gmail and
market... but all downloads are paused?
Any help please?
TY
Oh yes.. and upper notification tab... it's gone! I can't pull
the bar down anymore.
Anyone?...
Download an official ruu and run it.
You may need to create a goldcard.

I've noticed that my phone has an available software update in the "about device" section in settings. After hitting the "check for updates" I get an error message saying "it can't currently connect to the servers".
I've tried this on WiFi and on my LTE connection and both don't work. What should I do? Does anyone else have this problem? How do I update this phone?!?!
I don't see anywhere that it says there is an update but I have been getting that server error it seems like forever now.

connect you phone to kies, it will say update is available, let it update. This is will fix your update problem.
But update will remove your universal search
Thanks Sam, I guess there is no need for me to update then. At least I know what to do when there is a good update in the future!

if you root, then you can put old search.apk to get universal search back.
Hey everyone.
I have Zenfone 2 ze551ml (ASUS_Z00AD) for a year.
Apparently, it was rooted by the seller, I wasn't actually aware of it being rooted, acknowledged it only after I had tried to install some applications required for my job - they wouldn't install on a rooted device for security reasons. And I haven't used any benefits from my device being rooted (Are there any at all just because of the fact it is rooted?).
Later I found out that while rooted you don't really get any updates unless you manually upload them to your phone.
So several days ago I did unroot my device using "SuperSU" app. The only difference I've noticed - there is a lag spike when pressing "Home" button while in main menu - it does really annoy me, as I haven't seen this lag before, though I'm not sure if it is "unroot-related problem". Should there be any performace change since I've unrooted it?
But main question is about updates. Finally, there is a Marshmallow OS update - how do I upgrade?
I haven't got any updates since the first day of usage - I believe it is because of the root feature I had preinstalled. But now it is not rooted, and still I am not getting any updates.
I would love to "Check for updates" if there was such a feature - but in settings menu "Settings" -> "About" there is no "Check updates" function. How do I force check for updates? Will I get them automatically if I wait long enough? Or I won't since my device was sometime ago rooted in the first place?
I am sorry if the question was already mentioned here and for my bad englando.
