Has anyone used unrevoked 3 version 3.22 yet on a evo with software 3.30.651.3 hbootloader 2.02 yet and if so did it work for root or did it fail?
I'm wondering the same thing.
change log doesn't state anything about the new ota for evo just incredible

unrevoked is universal so it changes for all phones
ok will it do everthing just like 3.21 did for 3.29 or is it missing the recovery img?
as far as i know unrevoked still cant root the 2.02 hboot.
however my guide can !
its in the dev forums:
hboot s-off like a boss edition
Ya you and your bunk image of 2.02.001 hboot. Screen is black and i only have fastboot and hboot usb. But my hboot is your fake image which bricks phones. Dont have extended fastboot commands so i get errors when flashing thru fastboot commands.Half of my partition images are completely gone. Why dont you fix that? When i flash eng pc36img, the phone vibrates five or six short times and it say failpu. Ive tryed the rom.zip putting on sdcard and renaming it pc36img. You warn people it may brick but you didnt supply the correct file. How to fix bricked hboot 2.02.001??
Nothin huh?

Not a true story, this poor guy just doesn't know how to follow directions. I rooted my buddies EVO tonight with no problems using this method. Yeah, its nice to have Unrevoked but at the end of the day what have you learned by using the "easy" way?
Maybe. Or maybe after he realized it was no good he replaced the link with a new image....yellow is a young, dumb, simp. Yellow must of been sheltered from the world as a little girl. Its ok yellow, we understand
I tried this unrevoked on a friends BRAND NEW EVO 004 and latest OS.. doesnt work.. I did find a manual method that has a unrevoked zip file in it and a couple of other zips.. all worked great!
My husband and I are selling our phones to get the new 3d. We both had rooted our phones so we needed to unroot them. I did mine 2 weeks ago and it took quite some doing but finally got it to work. So I unrooted and than downloaded the OTA update and sold my phone.
Sooooo I need to do the same to my husbands unfortunatly his phone is in a different state than mine. First thing I noticed is that his hboot is .97.. Now mine was 2.1. I am newvous about trying the procedures I used since he has different hboot. Secondly he has a custom rom installed something that has gingerbread on it already. He is not really sure what he did since he flashed rom's and radio's etc etc (arrgg)
right now here is where I am on the state of his phone..
s-on
hboot .97
radio 2.15.00.09.01
any help on how to unroot his phone and get back to a point that if sprint has another upgrade a new person can just accept the OTA upgrade without any issues..
thanks in advance.
You need to do an RUU. Try the 3.29 or 3.30 one from this site:http://goo-inside.me/supersonic/stock/ruu/
Download the exe file, the other is the md5 checksum. That's probably how you did yours, just try an older one. Worst case is that it errors out. If it does that, just try another one.
Or you could run a PC36IMG of the RUU through the bootloader, your choice. You're halfway there since you have s-on. Did you check with the buyer to see if they want to root it? If so, you can still run the RUU, just keep it on Froyo so that they have the option.

Thanks for posting PlainJane. I was looking for this for someone else.
well I finally found a file that says it was for the hboot .97 and so I am currently flashing that we will see in a second if I totally messed things up or not hahaha.
holding my breath.. says it is done and rebooting device..
circle with arrow in it..... holding breath.... htc evo 4f white screen... taking short breaths.. sprint logo.. breathing sigh of relief.. least we are not bricked or anything.. now to see if we are unrooted..
yahhhhhh whoo hooo.. done.. man.. this is toooo stressful ..
thanks guys..
I've messed up big time now guys.
The background to the issue is that i wanted to upgrade my DZ to android 2.3 but when I tried to install the update Clockwork recovery wouldn't install it, so I figured that I need to install the original bootloader.
So I went into hboot and install what I tought was the original, it was, but it was for the G2.
So I tried in all kind of ways to get back to the DZ hboot but nothing works.
And after doing to many things, the latest thing I did was flashing a nandroidbackup from my DZ, and now I am stuck at boot screen.
However I can get into hboot and Clockwork recovery, so I don't think I am totally screwed, right?
But is there a way to get back to my old DZ at all?
Edit: I have the DZ bootloader now, but when in hboot trying to update to DZ it just fails.
Edit 2: Just wanted to say that I solved the problem, found an older nandroidbackup and flashing that one did the trick, sorry for posting..

i dont know if this will help, but,i did the rev. s off tool.got s off and did something wrong and got a big bowl of boot loops!i couldnt get it to stop.so i took my sd card out and put it into a card reader, and downloaded the pc36img file straight to the sd card, booted into recovery and installed it.but now i have no revovery, but still have s off.i have no clue how to re-install a custom recovery.but i hope that i somewhat helped.
If you used revolutionary, you should have a 6.16 hboot, not 2.16 (you said 2.15, but I think only Japanese Evos have that). If you're s-off but don't have a recovery, you can put a PC36IMG of a recovery on your SD card. Just use a card reader to do so. If you can get into recovery but your rom is bootlooping, try wiping cache and dalvik and rebooting.
If none of those are options, try running an RUU from your computer. You should be able to boot at that point so you can put whatever you need on your SD card.
When you select recovery from hboot, what happens? Do you get the stock recovery (red triangle), or does it hang on the splashscreen? Or can you get into recovery?

I bricked my evo 4g while attempting to flash to metro (on my own, couldnt find a exact guide). I had written a metro prl, donor flashed, and I was changing the NAM settings. All this went fine and then I was attempting to write the NVRAM file from whiterabbit site exactly as it told me. It wrote successfully but when I turned on my phone it was bricked.
I can access boot loader but it wont load into recovery. I get the white htc screen over and over again when I normally turn it on or when I attempt to access recovery.
Any help would be appreciated Im super frustrated .
Here are my bootloader specs

You can try and take your SD card out of the phone stick it on your computer and download a recovery place it on your of the SD card rename it to PC36IMG.zip ,place the card back on the phone and go to your bootloader and see if it finds the update

Will unrooting unbrick my phone? And i have a recovery I just cant reach it because when i press recovery it boots to the white screen again. I tryed reflashing my recovery and same thing keeps happening.
A little update at where Im stuck. I reflashed my recovery in hope that it will work but nothing and now it will not let me flash using Cmd prompt anymore. I cannot flash using cmd because it says waiting for device. Putting roms or recoverys in my sd card and renaming as PC36IMG comes out the same, it stops at Parsing zip and never moves forward. I cannot reach recovery because when I click it I just get the white splash screen again.
Apparently my messed up NV items are not as simple to fix as other bricks. There was a solution posted here by cutthroat but the file is no longer downloadable. Here is the link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...6&postcount=54
Any further help on how to fix my NV files or stop this bootloop/brick would be appreciated. Thanks
Well I looked through all those old links and trying to get those files now looks *really* hard.
You could try what someone did in this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31931866&postcount=49
And hope that it works.
Maybe afterwards flash a stock rom like nitrous rom and ##3282# reset and ##786# reset
**edit**
This one looks interesting too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1885208
If you could actually manage to find the nv.img file that would restore your evo, all you need to do is load the engineering hboot aka eng hboot,
then "fastboot flash nv nv.img" ( Without the quotes )
**edit #2**
Supposedly you can get a nv.img file from a PC36IMG.ZIP file, ruu maybe?
Anyways, this thread looks helpful too:

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into these. I gave up for a few weeks cause Ive gotten too busy lately but hopefully it will be fixed soon

No problem. I actually had to fix a friend's evo a week ago that had this same problem. It already had S-OFF so I found an eng hboot that was inside a PC36IMG.zip file
After it had flashed, I put it back in bootloader and executed the fastboot command in my post above with the nv.img file you can find by searching google for "mik mik evo radio"
You want the one that says: Baseband 2.15.00.12.19, PRI 2.33_003, WiMax 27243 & NV 2.15_003
After I flashed the nvitems, it worked fine afterwards. Reflashed back to the carrier and all was well.
So Ive tryed a few things and Im stumped. I tryed to fastboot flash my nv.img and it never works. I tryed to put an original signed ruu into my sd card and it never flashes. I looked at trying to s-off but i cant seem to find a guide where I can do it with a bricked phone. Dont really know what to try next.
