I've messed up big time now guys.
The background to the issue is that i wanted to upgrade my DZ to android 2.3 but when I tried to install the update Clockwork recovery wouldn't install it, so I figured that I need to install the original bootloader.
So I went into hboot and install what I tought was the original, it was, but it was for the G2.
So I tried in all kind of ways to get back to the DZ hboot but nothing works.
And after doing to many things, the latest thing I did was flashing a nandroidbackup from my DZ, and now I am stuck at boot screen.
However I can get into hboot and Clockwork recovery, so I don't think I am totally screwed, right?
But is there a way to get back to my old DZ at all?
Edit: I have the DZ bootloader now, but when in hboot trying to update to DZ it just fails.
Edit 2: Just wanted to say that I solved the problem, found an older nandroidbackup and flashing that one did the trick, sorry for posting..

Well Right Now Some How ive messed up my Evo.
I had used Simpleroot to root the phone but i know need it back to factory settings. When i tried to use a one of the RUUs it made my Hboot change from .76 to .79. Whenever i try to use simple root again to get my Hboot back the PC36IMG wont update.
Im on the 1.47 stock room since i can still boot into RA recovery. Ive also just tried to use another Ruu but this time it wont load into the bootloader and gives me the 170 error.
Ive tried all the RUUs and even tried to move the PC36IMG to my phone manually but nothing seems to work. I dont get it.
Help?

Hi guys, I'm at the end of my tether now!
My phone kept rebooting when using Navigation yesterday, then after the 3rd time it has just been stuck on the HTC boot screen and nothing will fix it.
I can't even get into recovery, so I cant do a nandroid restore.
I have been using Leedroid 2.2e with no problems before this.
I have tried flashing the latest RUU but because I had the latest Froyo already installed it wont work as it needs to be an older version on the phone.
I cant downgrade Froyo to an older version as I cant get into the phone to turn on USB debugging.
I have only had the phone 2 weeks, please help if possible.
If you use the 2.10.405.2 or 2.29.405.2 RUUs they should flash with no issues. Might be worth extracting out the ROM.zip from the RUU, rename it PB99IMG.zip, copy it to the sd card and go into HBOOT and it should revert back to stock (assuming it can read the card)
I tried flashing the 2.10.405.2 RUU but it fails halfway with a Customer ID error, and I know the goldcard is good so I thought it must be failing the check for older software version.
I also tried renaming and flashing the rom from the card, but the phone read the file and a progress bar went up the right hand side of the screen, then nothing, it just stopped.
I'm not really clued up on these things, but I have been doing a lot of reading on various forums.
Hey EddyOS, thanks for the heads up on the 2.29.405.2 RUU, that was what I needed to flash over my current rom.
All back and running now, after being up all night trying to fix it.
I'm scared to root and put a custom rom on now in case it happens again and I have to send it in for a warranty repair, that was my biggest worry.
Thanks again!
Hi,
I recently installed an alpharev hboot, but else but satisfied with the fact that I suddenly only had 6MB left of space on my phone I tried to push in an original RUU to reset the hboot. Wich was partly succesful. Now though I discovered the Alpharev hboot still was there, and this resulted in my phone getting stuck at the very first bootscreen where it says HTC.
The plan so on is to root it, and load in the backup I took with Rom Manager.
So, are there anything I can do? Push in a ROM manually, or something like that?
EDIT: I have now found that there is a downgrade hboot, wich I have flashed in now. Though it looks to be too late..

what HBOOT did you use and with witch ROM did you use it on.... changing the HBOOT to any thing other then stock if you are using a stock rom will make you lose space... you need to take a look and see what hboot is needed for your rom
If you want to go back to S-OFF then just flash a stock RRU
Hey guys. A while ago I was trying to use the gfree method to unlock my sim (I had S-OFF) but I realized I had to downgrade my radio. Stupidly, I tried to flash the official RUU (RADIO-26.03.02.18_M3).
Half way through, I got an error (forgot what cause I wasn't paying much attention -_- ) and had to abort. After that, the phone would not go past the HTC screen. I go into bootloader and the phone was now S-ON and had the radio version 26.03.02.18_M3.
No matter which rom I flash the same thing happens. On another note, I can get into Bootloader and clockwork recovery and ADB works as well.
Anyone know what to do from here? Sorry for being stupid but i`m not the brightest at this
Sounds like you may wiped your boot and system partitions doing this. Did you have a nandroid backup to restore? You can try flashing the PC10IMG again to see if it works this time (risk of losing recovery) or try flashing a custom kernel in addition to the rom.
Kind Regards,
Kevin
Okay, so I flashed the 1.32 RUU to be able to upgrade my DHD up to 3.12.405. so that I could install the unlockable HBOOT.
According to HTC this unlocked HBOOT should let you flash custom ROMs.
I went to to htcdev.com and followed their steps to unlock my bootloader, which worked flawlessly..
Except when i flash custom ROMs the phone hangs on splashscreen. I've tried full wipe and clean install, I've even tried restoring backed up ROMs.
Any one else have simlar problems? or a solution?
anything that may help?
Since I don't read anything about it, I'm gonna ask you: Did you flash a recovery?
Yes sorry for not managing to provide that info before :-/
I have ClockworkMod 5.0.2.0
And do you also know that after flashing a custom ROM the first boot might take a loooong time?
OFC. I've waited over 20 minutes for the thing to boot but nothing happens.
Only thing i can think of is that it might be that it is S-ON and not S-OFF.
also i can recover the backed up stock ROM.

I got Advanced ACE Hack Kit to degrade it so now I'm able to S-OFF, super CID and everything again
All I had to do was to relock the bootloader and run the AAHK
Thank for the responses.
