My Dash started acting up the other day and I am hoping someone here can help.
It is responding very slowly to most key presses, sometimes taking 5-10 minutes to, say, open a folder or bring up a settings screen. Sometimes they don't come up at all and it appears frozen, requiring a "yank the battery" reset procedure.
ActiveSync on both home and work PC's detects the device but cannot connect to it.
On bootup, the Windows Mobile splash will be displayed much longer than it used to (3 - 4 minutes) before I finally get a desktop.
The time on the main (top) sliding panel is often the last to (slowly) appear on the display when "waking up".
Email has stopped working in and out. I can receive calls, and Bluetooth is working, but often the ringer will continue for 5 -10 seconds after I answer, and transferring calls to my headset takes about 5 - 10 seconds after that.
Sometimes, settings changes won't "take" and will reset themselves back to their previous values.
Hard resets haven't helped, and nothing seems changed after them, which is odd.
The only thing I have changed recently is I installed the ODSHOW weather thing a few weeks ago (which seriously fubar'd my phone and it was all I could do to get the "normal" top panel back) as far as I know it's uninstalled now.
And all of this started happening after the battery had run completely down and the phone shut itself off. I have already tried another battery and the behavior hasn't changed.
I would love to flash it as I think the problem is the O/S is hosed, but is that possible without being able to connect to a PC through ActiveSync? Say, by copying the ROM package to the SD card and running it from there?
I am running RickyWatts/Kavana's WM 6.1 ROM, btw.
Many thanks if you have any suggestions.

Here's what you do.Turn the phone off, holding the camera button down for about 10 seconds , plug the usb cable that should give you the bootloader screen, you can get the official tmo 6.0 on there, it has to be an official rom. Once you got the phone with the 6.0 running, set up active sync and then flash which ever 6.1 rom you want. Good luck.
Here's the link for the official 6.0 rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=381726&highlight=official+roms
Her's the 6.1 rom link. I recomend V24 w/opera http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3315417&postcount=1
Thanks rolo. Let me make sure I have this:
1) Turn off the phone while holding down the camera button for about ten seconds.
2)Release the camera button and plug in the USB cable. Bootloader screen will appear.
3) From the bootloader screen I can put the TMO ROM on.
Is that correct?
Thanks again!

No!
1. Turn off phone
2. after phone's off, press and hold the camera button.
3. after holding it for about 10 seconds, plug the usb like you're gonna use active sync.
4.That will give you the bootloader screen, and you can now install official 6.0.
5. after you got 6.0 set. set up active sync.
6. I would wait about 10 or 15 minutes, then flash 6.1

Ah! Ok, now I have it in bootloader mode. Thanks.
I d/l'd the Official TMO_1.22.531.6 file and unpacked it, but the 40 MB RAR file contains only a 60 KB(?) file named RUU_signed.nbh
What do I do with that?

the phone should recognize the 6.0 rom update. If it doesn't, unpack it again, wait until the screen ask you if you did everything to establish connection, click next and attempt the bootloader sequence again.
ah-HA!! I did it! Officially un-bricked! I downloaded the latest ROM for the T-Mobile site.
ActiveSync now works, I can receive Outlook email, and have even paired up my Aliph Jawbone via Bluetooth! Thanks so much Rolo!! You rock, dude!
I think I might wait a bit before flashing a custom ROM. I'd like to have sliding panels and such, but I'm not in a hurry.

Tweaked removed post as you obviously found the other .zip needed

Yep, you need the official rom that the phone used from factory. Check for your rom on the official rom thread on the sticky. You might want to pm profezza and ask him if the O2 XDA Cosmo, Orange SPV E600 and the Rogers HTC S621 use the same rom. If they do, he has your official rom there.
For the last day or 2 my phone has become slow to respond to screen presses. Also most of the time when I open the contacts (I have the normal winmo screen up) it just opens to a white screen with the search at the top. No contacts are listed. They are still there tho and if I press the phone button are listed in all the calls I have made etc. V occasionally they will show.
I have turned phone off and on etc and presses reset button but it still isn't running properly. I havent installed any new software.
Rom is 1.14.161.6 (50297)wwe
radio 3.44.25.27
Anyone got an idea what is going on?

Maybe all memory is filled up? (Try to move all your music/pictures to SD)
Also, try to remove the SD alltogether, maybe that will help.
And, use a taskmanager to see what service/program is using all processor speed.
Already tried to see if the device is using too much power?
Cheers for that.
For memory it reads:
Storage Tot: 291.91mb, used 82.20mb, free 209.71mb
program Tot: 188.21mb, used 82.07mb, free 106.14mb
card tot: 7592mb, used 3294.97mb, free 4297.03mb
I have checked task manager and no programs are liseted as running. even task manager takes a while to open.
Sometimes its like the phone works ok but most of the time it is slow to respond and I still have the contacts problem most of the time (e.g 8 out of 10 times it will just open but show as empty).
Even with the memory card out it still does it.
Power doesn't seem to be running out partic fast either. It's pretty much the same as it's always been

Have you flashed the device?
Do you have graphical glitches now and then? (eg. the wait cursor shows weird)
This has been happening to me about once a day for the past 3 or 4 days. I was running the Timor 7.1 rom, which is based on the official HTC WM 6.5 rom (just has some things removed and some minor stuff added in).
Last night I reflashed with the official HTC WM 6.5 rom and I haven't had it happen yet, but there is still plenty of time. I was ready to send my phone into warranty though because it was happening so often (of course after reflashing stock rom and spl)!

Hi, yes, sometimes the wait cursor shows up when it's done loading, but I'd always thought once you restart the phone, it goes straight to home, but I do see the cursor (windows colorful graphic) spinning before it gets to the home tab (clock).
I did flash it, but that was a long time ago, I only hard reset now because I like the Rom I have.
Hi,
I got my Galaxy Nexsus today in Asia from a shop.
I start to play with it and from time to time suddenly it without my help bottom of the screens gets tapped repeatedly! pressing home, back and apps list buttons again and again.
I was wondering if anyone else have the same problems and if the best guess is to be a hardware problem (I will be screwed as I bought it from a shop! ) or a software bug (I can wait for an update as mine if 4.0.2).
Cheers,

No problem here.
Try to remove the battery first. Wait one minute.
If it does not work, try to reset the phone (All apps/settings/backup&reset/factory data reset). You will lose everything!
If the problem persists, maybe it is a hardware problem.
Only if Pointer Location is on?
Thanks tigajr,
Can someone enable the "Pointer Location" option from "Developer Options" and play with phone and see if it happens?
I think when it is off from the start of phone everything is fine. But when I enable this feature after a while bottom of the screen gets tapped repeatedly.
Hi,
I installed the cyanogenmod 11 nightly like a week ago on my galaxy note 2 and all was running perfectly until this morning.
When I woke up this morning the phone screen was black. The phone is actually working, I can hear emails notifications, phone ringing etc.
The buttons light up when i press them. When I connect it to the PC I can browse the phone contents etc. All seems to function except the screen.
The battery is charged. I tried to remove the battery for a long time and try again but still nothing.
I can't get into recovery or download mode as the screen is blank (sometimes there is a like a weird area at the top where there are like different colored pixels present). I know people will say the screen might be damaged but last night before I went to bed it was all fine, the phone was placed on the table, and this morning when I picked it up screen is blank.
I want to flash back the stock firmware. However I can't get into download mode in order to use Odin. Is there any other way to get into download mode or hardware reset the phone?
Any suggestions are welcomed.
EDIT: The touch screen also seems to work when I touch it as I can for example call numbers for which I had speeddial scortcuts but it is still completely blank.
I think this is hardware issue. You must replace the screen

Yeah I think so too. I've sent it to Samsung.
It was rooted and had cyanogenmode so probably I have no warranty
However I managed to install stock ROM so hopefully they won't (can't) notice.
