It is said that HTC's windows phone 7 device losed in wine bar(maybe in Taiwanese wine bar, this information is from Taiwanese forum that named Mobile 01).
It can get from the picture, this device is littler than T8788. 3.7 inch screen?
Maybe we should go to bar more often. It not be unbelierable that we can pick up the cellphone that not show on the market. XD~

I'm sorry but I didn't get a clear picture of what you're saying but if you want to show us the HD3/7 then you're late.
that post in mobile is abt some guy who apparently picked up a hd3/hd7 in a wine bar in taiwan
he commented that the UI is similar to the iphone (wtflol)
he then listed the specs, 3.7" screen, kickstand, blah blah
and ended by remarking that it seems to be renamed to hd7
Hello all. I don't post very often, if at all, but I had a question and was wondering if those who received their handset recently could answer. I ordered a Galaxy Nexus from Expansys (USA Store), and I received it today. I opened it up and was expecting the handset box to have that security sticker that I've seen other unboxings on YouTube to have. It didn't. I was also surprised that I have Spanish / Mexican writing in addition to English on the outside of my box. I opened my box and instead of the UK plug, I was given a Mexican (?) plug. I'm not sure, the plug said "ME" on the side. I also received warranty books in English and Spanish. Sorry, I'm not sure how to speak Spanish or Mexican so I may be mixing it up. I tried searching these forums, but I haven't seen a thread on this yet.
So, I know there are some people that received their handsets today from Expansys, and I was wondering if they received the same thing?
Sorry, if this has been covered before, but I'm just curious. Thanks.
I was about to make a post about the same thing.
My Nexus also came without a security seal, US charger, and English/Spanish manuals. Also, on the inside of my phone it does not say Made in Korea. Instead it says Korean Product.
But I did not order from Expansys.
Thanks for your response, aeox. I'm thankful I wasn't the only one that received a handset from someplace else. I'm hoping that everything else internally is the same, i.e. same sourced parts. I have flashbacks to when I was on Blackberry and people compared country of manufacture to determine problems. Lol.
I'm naive about electricity also. Would someone be able to tell me if it's safe to use the "ME" plug in US sockets? Could I use my SGSII plug to charge the Nexus? Just want to be sure and not fry my phone or my house.
Thanks again, and sorry for all the questions.
I'm kind of worried too. Since none of the labels on the box or phone itself have all "regular" labels that is seen in every video out there. Especially the sticker inside the back of the phone.
Korean Product vs. Made in Korea by Samsung.
Does any one else have different accessories or packaging?

Can't say that I have dealt with this... but it might be safest to stick to USB charges until you find your answer.
Darthbull: Is the sticker inside your phone the same as mine?
I have said this since last week, no one really noticed/reply...

I order from Negri, seems like it came from spain or something...
Any chance of some pictures guys?
That thread got kind of long full of posts from all over the place. I probably missed it.
I'll try to post some pictures tonight when I get home.
aeox: Yeah, mine says "PRODUCTO COREANO / KOREAN PRODUCT"
Regarding doubts of some batches are made in Korea or not; they are all made in Korea. Even though the phone says "Producto Coreano/Product of Korea", the bottom side of the white box has a lable that says "Phone: Made in Korea, Imported Accessories individually marked" So theres no doubt the phone is manufactured in Korea and the accessories in China as labled.
I just got mine FRESH. I did not purchase it at an online retailer like negri or expansis but from a wholesale company that I have connections with. They seem to have the same batch as many of you mentioned; no security stickers and spanish and english on packaging and documentation. I saw the entire lot that they have and its the same thing. Theyre a reputable company, they wouldnt mickymouse with such a high end device, as anyone will certainly expect folks like us will put anything and everything about it under a microscope.
Sounds a little bit more reassuring. But I personally still would rather have a made in Korea by Samsung sticker with the FCC logo instead of the simple cheap looking one I have.

I completely understand but, know that this isnt a standard US/CA handset where you get a nice FCC seal etc. These phones were meant for a different region with different standards. Also, my hypothesis is that we dont get a samsung seal of quality because this isnt a fully Samsung developed developed device. This is a joint effort lead by Google and Samsung happens to be the lead manufacturer. If it was a pure Samsung device, i trust samsung would have put in their own in-house Exynos SoC instead of Texas Instrument OMAP right?
I dont know what the standards for Mexico mobile devices are either (or if these handsets were even meant for mexico in the first place), but DAMN this phone looks sexy as fcuk. I love it. And you should too, dont let a little packaging issue take away the fact that you have the next badass Google Nexus device.
Guys! I have become a member of the smashed screen club and I am totally heart broken as my phone screen is totally unresponsive after the horrible attack from gravity. No I did have insurance cover on my phone which I totally regret now and I'm currently back on Nexus 4 . After shopping around on the net I've come to see that replacing the screen and digitiser isn't too hefty a task and I've decided to repair my phone myself. I'm after some advice with regards to parts. I was never a huge fan of the grey bottom edge of my D855 G3 and always wished it was totally black but didn't want to go down the skin/sticker route. I came across a black one from the VS985 model which is a Verizon variant. OK yes is says Verizon in the top corner but its totally black! I wanted to know whether I'd have any issues fitting the VS985 black screen to my D855 device or will I run in to issues? I've yet to see someone who has done this replacement and I'm not sure whether the parts are all standardised for all phones or not. Also what do you guys think? Should I go to black or keep it original and grey?
cheers guys

If they are compatible, why not try this one - or something like it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Matallic-Bl...495?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4632c789ef

I only bring it up because I have a vs985 and I HATE that verizon tag...and you may grow to hate it too *If/when I break my display I'm looking for something like I linked...& $80 isn't that bad a price.

Oh nice. Hopefully that is a full black one without the carrier logo rather than a badly photoshopped picture. Will check this out. I wonder if I'll get raped with customs charges as I'm in the UK?

Hi, Huawei G8 is sold since 2nd half of 2015, but still no comments her on xda? Is there nobody who owns this smartphone?
I think that now that the GX8 is officially out in the US, it'll be more popular around here.
I have a test unit I received from Huawei a few months ago and now that they're allowing us to keep these units I was wondering if I could get rid of all the extra software they added to it (log collector, surveys, etc) and gift it to someone.
But g8 and gx8 are the same device. Huawei only changed the name. In germany it is the same, don't know if this is like this everywhere in the world.
But there is no extra forum for gx8?
Only one difference exist. Rio-L01 is dual-sim and Rio-L11 is only one simcard. But i don't know where to buy the L11 Version... Germany is called G8 (Rio-L01)
Hopefuly this device gets more love from devs ... My last LG g flex gets nothing. only root and twrp... ... finger crossed
I've already found root for g8 in a German forum, but i would like to see cm or another custom Rom too.
I want to buy a g8, but i think, i will wait some time and watch the forum it there is any development. Smartphone without it is not what i want to have. If Samsung wouldn't habe all this SH*T with Knox and so on i would buy it, there is much more development.

Here it is: http://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/huawei-gx8-g8-forum.2425/
I have also a huawei g8 (german Version) with dual sim
Mine model written on the box says it's a Huawei G7 Plus. RIO-L01 in the "about phone". I live in Cambodia.
Hi, I have a G8 too, the dual Sim version.
G8, Gx8,G7plus....they are all the same I think. Can´t find no changes in the tech.specs
I have a G8 single SIM too, and I am found some official firmware, I think I'm going to open a thread for it
I have to decide if i will buy a 5,5 model like g8 or a 5,2 model like honor 7 or p8. Is there much difference if you put it in your bag of the trousers?

Yes, they are exactly the same phone, but different name according to the region: G8 for Europe, GX8 for America and G7 Plus for Asia.

I can tell you that the 5.5" screen on this device feels really nice, actually it has a nice ratio and it perfectly fix on the pockets of any pants I use.
:fingers-crossed:
And there is no need for another smartphone with faster CPU? Built in CPU is fast enough?
Can you tell me, which colour is called "mystic chamapgne"? Is this the gold or the silver one?
I want to have the gold version with both sides gold. The silver version is only silver on the backside? Frontside is white? On some internetshops there are picture of golden smartphone and in the description you can read mystic champagne?

For me and the tasks I make, CPU is perfect, I'm a normal user and I tend not to perform tasks that stress the phone, even when I'm a software developer and all my life I have bought Nexus line.
Mystic Champagne is actually the colour I have, it is white on the front and silver in the black, is really nice colour, I liked it a lot. I don't know why is called like this, but this is the colour that comes in the box, which I got kind of scared when I saw it because I didn't want the gold one, so be careful with this.
:fingers-crossed:
Did you see this guys? Is this true or fake? and if it is true, what's that Aosp or cm13?
http://android-xda.net/tutorial/upgrade-update-huawei-g8/
I wish it to be true. The download links are survey-locked and look really fishy. Most likely fake
Haven't tried but would love a marshmallow rom and if its aosp, the better. I hate this emui rom ><
Can someone tell me how to root our phone. I looked at german forum but i dont understand anything

Hello XDA Forum,
my daughter's tablet screen was cracked. A Chinese web shop offered replacement screen (lcd, digitizer & glass combo) and I ordered giving them correct model of the tablet. Now, I received physically perfectly fitting gear but I won't get any image on the screen. I can see backlight lit for a short while.
I swapped the faulty LCD/digitizer/glass back and could see picture just perfectly. So it seems like resolution issue. I even swapped the new LCD back while tablet was powered up (I know, I know..) and I could see picture in the replacement screen as well! But the image was distorted just like you've seen in CRTs when resolution/refresh don't match the screen capabilities.
Tablets model is Asus ZenPad 10 Z301M-1B006A. This site explains the differences pretty well:
w w w . p d e v i c e . c o m
/comparison/asus-zenpad-10-z301m-vs-asus-zenpad-10-z301mf
Even the GPU is same for 1920*1200 and 1280*800 system.
Actual replacement LCD is NV101WUM-N52 (1920*1200).
It perhaps should have been TV101WXM-NU1 (1280*800).
I saw some web shops giving possibility to select resolution but my Chinese web shop just asked the model. I have perfectly correct model in the order.
The sticker on the replacement panel says ATAB435 and "Asus Z301M Z301MFL" plus some Chinese chars. This suggests the LCD was indeed intended for Z301M/1280*800 tablet.
Now, the question is, could my replacement screen picture problem be due to wrong initial Android bootup resolution setting which I could possibly change with adb thus upgrade the tablet to 1920*1200 reso?
Hope this question made any sense at all.
BR,
Timo

I don't have this device myself but, I did a little digging around...
First of all, I did see that the new display is actually compatible for your device.
If this were me, my next thought would be to go to the following manufacturers website FAQ section...
https://www.asus.com/us/Tablets/ASUS-ZenPad-10-Z301M/HelpDesk_Knowledge/
... and see if I can locate anything that's regarding the Display (ie... LCD, Digitizer, Display, etc...) to see if there was anything that may/might/does apply to your issue.
Personally stating, I can only assume that it may be tied to some type of Calibration or similar.
Just to clarify, if this were me, and nothing worked, I would just double check all the connections. Specifically for connections that may be loose, dirty, disconnected (by accident), etc... because things can happen when putting them together that was overseen/forgotten accidentally.
In addition, I would look at some YouTube videos in replacing the Digitizer Display for the same/similar device. I would do this only as a reference regarding what I did and see if I had overlooked anything.
If all is well and nothing was successful, I would personally feel that this Digitizer was simply defective. I would then look to begin the process of returning/replacing the Digitizer.
If I obtained the same Digitizer part, and the same happened, I would just look into return/exchange that one for the other part.
It's really hard to diagnose many items/issues without having the actual/same device.
I hope that this was helpful in some way and I had explained this okay via text.
I do wish you the best of luck!

First of all, your effort is highly appreciated. Thank you.
Very interesting. What made you think my replacement display combo (LCD: NV101WUM-N52) is compatible with Z301M? All hints I could gather was stating it's compatible for Z301MF* models.
I tried to look for this information but couldn't really find the proof.

This is my study hypothesis as well. First, I was thinking that my problem is just due to the LCD not understanding the signal sent to it by the GPU.
commands like:
Code:
adb shell
wm density DPI (Change display density)
wm size RES (Change display resolution)
might change the startup resolution so that the new LCD can show it and otherwise get initialized properly.
I was just puzzled that Google didn't give any hits of people doing this so I just couldn't believe I'm the 1st one to experience this. This is why decided to ask here.
What I do not know is can ARM or tablet hardware in general negotiate screen refresh/resolution/DPI information via the cable or is it always something which is hard coded in the firmware itself? After all a tablet isn't really a plug and play hot swap equipment, eh?
Only thing avoiding me to test above approach is that the web shop may want to replace my new LCD. Let's see how it boils. Is it broken or is it electrically unfit for the hw/sw model I have?

I hear you. I did this approximately 10 times. Some 5 times I switched back to the cracked 1280*800 and shows the picture fine. Back to NV101WUM-N52 and all I get get is backlight.

I've seen that part number for your device within some other websites like Amazon, eBay and even Asus as a replacement part option.
I've seen this before. Sometimes a new device will have upgrade options when it's first launched.
I've got an Asus Transformer T100TA Tablet where this option was provided for the Digitizer, Memory and a few others.
As a matter of fact... I've got my Asus Tablet still apart with the newer Digitizer Display ready to be put back together. Unfortunately it's been ready to be assembled for approximately a year now (shame on me... LOL! ).

LMAO!!!
It's actually my first (and only) tablet I've ever owned. It's like a BIG Android... LOL!
I've got a good handful of various Android devices, 3 Laptops and 2 PC Towers (with 3 monitors). This list only includes what's actually working (also less the various parts as well). On top of the various projects I'm involved in bouncing from one to another as well as Life itself.
You can see why reassembling the tablet is actually something I want/need to do, it's just not very high on my priority list at this point in time.
I wish you the best of luck!

Thank you.
One last detail for the record should someone else sometime stumble upon this problem.
Z301M original LCD is KD101N59-42NA-A8 which was later replaced, according to test report 081-170425-200, by TV101WXM-NU1 1280*800.
So be careful when ordering replacement screen for Asus ZenPad 10. There is also some green & yellow connector difference which wasn't involved in this case but I just wanted to mention it here.
