Hello guys,
I have a problem with my Galaxy Google Nexus GT-I9250 ! Of course, the update for 4.3 JB came up on my phone. When I pressed the button to install it, after a few second the installation stopped. It said : "Installation aborted" and then "Signature Verification Failed" . I tried to search through the other forums and threads, but as I`m a kind of a newbie with that technology I would be really pleased if someone explain me how to fix that, maybe, silly problem.
Oh, and also what is this thing named OTA.zip ?
Thanks.
It's exactlly the same thing that's happening to me
I opened a new thread but didn't include that detail, but it cant update.

In my case I bought it like this, how can i know if something is not stock?
you mean i have to go back to stock and flash it again through Odin?
I saw a post from someone here showing how to do that, but i wasn't quite sure either...

depends on if you changed something else. if you just have root, no. but if you installed busybox, i know it modifies some system files
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626895
follow that. easiest way to go back to stock. if you dont want to lose you data, just dont flash userdata.img
DONT USE ODIN.

In a short answer, yes. The OTA update needs to verify that the software on your phone matches what it needs to update. This is why you will get a "signature verification failed" message. If you phone is encrypted, the OTA updater will not be able to verify that software. Decrypt your phone, once complete goto settings - about phone - system updates and retry to download and install the OTA update.
---------- Post added at 10:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:38 AM ----------
Let's keep this simple guys... If you want the OTA update to work properly and reliably you must be completely stock. No root, no mods, no encryption, no nothing! Most people having issues with the OTA not working fail to mention some little mod they installed making them not "completely stock".

Answering for the team so if the guys want to correct me, feel free, just attempting to head off more distracting lines of "not" frequently asked questions. THANKS FELLAS!
1. YES, this is simply a method of gaining root, nothing more, nothing less. Your FOTA will likely fail OR worse due to a) being rooted and failing checks or b) system changes you may or may not make after you ROOT but this is a "Method TO ROOT" so again, nothing more, nothing less. (Question is out of scope)
2. NO, why would you even want to get an updated root method app that you are supposed to uninstall after you have rooted? (Question doesn't really make much sense)
3. NO CLUE and out of scope, this is a "Method TO ROOT", nothing more, nothing less.
4. Probably but if you want to help, you tell @jcase but it's out of scope and as an exploit creator, not really his/the teams deal or worry.
5. Out of scope, this is a "Method TO ROOT", nothing more, nothing less.
Good day to ya... :good:

I'm sitting here with my Verizon HTC One on the "Software update ready to install" screen. I'm not sure if I should select "Install Later" or "Install Now". I guess my main question is, has there been any indication that someone will come up with a workable root solution for the M7 with the OTA KitKat update? I know there isn't one for Jellybean.
Sorry if this is a n00b question. If it has been asked and answered before, please point me in the direction of the thread. Thanks!
Edit: I see a couple of folks have asked about this in the Q&A forum (where I probably should have, heh). Mods, please delete.

If you are s-off dont take the OTA. you can get the firmware here and it would be like you took the OTA.

if you want root, it will cost you $25 for the license from Sunshine. I would do sunshine before taking the OTA because it might not work on the latest OTA.
if you dont care about root, just take the ota.

Ah, gotcha. I've read conflicting reports about Sunshine's success with the Verizon HTC One, so I wasn't sure if it was still a valid method. Thanks for the tip. I'll do that before the OTA update.

You should never have to pay for Rooting. Android is a better community than that. Setup bounties, but never force payment. My opinion.

Has anyone noticed HTC Clock and HTC Lockscreen updates in Google Play after the new OTA? If so, have you installed and had any issues? I'm reading the comments and some say HTC Clock update causes alarms to no longer work and HTC Lockscreen update causes reboot loop.

Just bit the bullet. Everything is working OK so far.
I was able to successfully S-off via SunShine, flash TWRP and root. Then, after making a complete backup, I accepted the OTA update. It didn't mess up any of those things.

Oops, sorry. You're right. I remembered my steps wrong. I did S-off, then OTA, then TWRP.
Just a thought, has anyone tried this? Just curious.
I don't believe there are any devs working on it since the last update that patched the "Depixel8" software. Seems they've given up on the VZW variant. There is a bounty somewhere in these forums. For both bootloader unlock exploit and temp root to flash TWRP and hopefully SuperSU. But I don't know if anyone is trying or what.

Honestly what is in it for the devs to find another exploit, just for it to be patched again, especially that there is an unlocked model of the phone. If they all were locked down, most likely they would try. Honestly just sell the VZW Version and buy the GPE. It is still locked on O, while being TMO.
I realize this phone is from last year, but i feel like I am doing someone somewhere some kind of good by creating this program to Unlock and Root an HTC 10 (pme).
I hope someone of higher authority sees this and is able to use their authoritativeness to validate this program's usefulness. Thank you all those who use this tool!

What do u mean by "s off" ? and also this is just bootloader unlocker, TWRP installer, and rooting tool.
Does your program use HTC dev to unlock bootloader or something else ?
S off for bootloader there is s on and s off like sunshine does s off but is a paid app but I'll assume if you do not know what that is that it'll be s on

As far as I know, using htcdev is the current only method to unlock the bootloader initially. I will be incorporating sunshine-off into the program if u want to use that to factory unlock the phone to change carriers and what not (if thats not what sunshine-off does, please, someone correct me)

I will push it to the phone, but i wont be paying for moonshine's penalty distribution fees, or sunshine's cost. I will incorp sunshine since there is no penalty for that, but i will not be paying for it.
On another note, if someone finds a way to unlock the bootloader without HTCdev, please let me know. I am currently editing my tool to incorp sunshine pushing, and a couple other things i messed up, but i should have the official link ready in a few minutes from now.
Edit: Link has been updated.

He can't incorporate sunshine and make it a free tool, the developers of sunshine will not allow that.
And i doubt if there will ever be another (payable) solution to s-off besides sunshine.
Sounds like Monopoly haha but why wouldn't he be able to rewrite to change some things make his own and distribute as long as some coding is changed it's his they can't prevent him from offering a free app...
"Unless of course it's copy written where he paid to have protect and Pat. And even then if it's changed it allowed cough look at China they do it all the time" just saying ....

You've included the SunShine APK in your zip, which we do not allow. We update the software frequently, and disable old builds. Please remove it from your linked archive. To those wondering: There is no free/cracked version of SunShine out there.
Also, moonshine never supported the HTC 10 - I'm not sure why you would reference that.

Thank you. Just to be clear, there was not a cracked/modified version of sunshine in his zip (no such apk exists), but bundling sunshine in packages like this causes us significant support issues as we frequently update sunshine.
