Dena theme for JPO - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

NEW DENA Theme for JPO
This is the version of dena theme for JPO
Root your phone
install lagfix
install busybox
Managed to get it working using Android SDK tools. ROOT needed
Connected my phone via usb with the computer ... USB debuging needs to be enabled before connecting the phone.
copy the files included in Dena Theme to your internal SD card.
1. adb shell
2. su (grant su rights on your phone when asked)
3. mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
3. rm system/framework/twframework-res.apk
4. rm system/framework/framework-res.apk
5. rm system/app/settings.apk (if no file is found try Settings.apk ... no ide if it matters tho)
6. busybox cp sdcard/twframework-res.apk system/framework
7. busybox cp sdcard/framework-res.apk system/framework
8. busybox cp sdcard/Settings.apk system/app
Then reboot your phone manually.

same issue, need to pull out the battery and restart onto recovery, then re-flash doc's theme...
flashed with cwm of course

The theme is awsome but for some reason this JPO version screws up my lockscreen, I get a flickering blank coloured screen that I can pull away like the standard one, any ideas how I could fix that?

does it works on JPA?
link is dead tho.

It's awesome but full of bugs!!
- No power button (it crashs)
- No Settings mode (it says not installed (lol) )
- You can't insert widget in home screen
pls fix it!

Circular Battery on Status Bar

Use adb from Android SDK, the tools directory
(http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html)
1) Pull framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ by command:
> adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk .
2) Make a copy of the original framework-res.apk to framework-res-original.apk in your tools folder (in case you screw things up )
3) Rename framework-res.apk in your tools folder to framework-res.zip
4) Open framework-res.zip
5) Replace the "circular battery" files I have attached to res/drawable-mdpi directory in the zip file
6) Use normal compression when replacing the files
7) Rename the zip file back to apk extension
8) Push framework-res.apk back to /system/framework by commands:
> adb remount
> adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
> adb shell reboot
Credit to giant_rider, I pulled the files out from his SuperEclair ROM

I have tried this twice & it always reverts back to the standard battery icons. I push the new file with the circular battery files you uploaded. However, when I pull the framework file again to check the icons(after I reboot my phone & see that it hasn't changed) it its back to normal with the standard ones. I can't imagine why Any ideas ? ? ?

its actually very simple, just follow step (1) and pull the file, look for your original battery png files and replace it with the circular battery files, both original and circular battery status should have the same png file names

sweet. Im currently running pays 1.6 and i want to try to run an eclair but theyre all ugly as hell and i dont want a fully themed rom, i just want specific icons ect.
ive been looking into this for a while So i have some noob questions if you will.
1: do i need to "re-sign" the apk?
2: can i apply this method to all the icons on a rom.
for example, i like the "dowloading" icon from my current rom but would like it on an the eclair.
same goes for the text icon on the notifications bar, i like the green one but clair normally uses a black one
could i switch them out?

Keep on pushing it? I did that until it finally got transferred ..
Alternatively, you can delete the previous framework apk and push the updated one.

Tried the original method on Fresh 1.0.1, Pulled file, edited, re-pushed, got stuck at white boot screen, the one that says HTC EVO 4G or something like that.
just get metamorph from market and dr.cloverdale black bar metamorph. replace necessary battery images in black bar zip and no need to sign or push via adb.
This battery is awsome, I'm busy with my own notification bar so I can really use this!
What really is Missing is an step right before remounting the ADB.
Try the Following Steps:
1) Pull framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ by command:
> adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk .
2) Make a copy of the original framework-res.apk to framework-res-original.apk in your tools folder (in case you screw things up )

4) Open framework-res.zip
5) Replace the "circular battery" files I have attached to res/drawable-mdpi directory in the zip file
6) Use normal compression when replacing the files
7) Rename the zip file back to apk extension
8) Restart the phone till you get to the End of the "Boot Loop" and be able to reconnect to phone again with using ADB and Entering Following command:
> adb shell reboot
9) Then push framework-res.apk back to /system/framework by commands:
> adb remount
> adb push framework-res.apk /system/framework/
> adb shell reboot

Thanks.
Followed Amir's steps and now I have circular battery .
ROM: CursorSence
Hi guys
made this small app might help, no need to root / install new ROM / Alter framework-res.apk
it gives you circular battery indicator with percentages (up to 1% if your device supports it)
just download and install the app to your device
it works with Desire and Droid X perfectly, not sure about other devices
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=809553
let me know if it worked for you
cheers
Irkan, love the app. Works perfect on my MT3g 32b with CM6, and I really like the temp stats in notification bar too. Nice work
I am on the CM nightlies and trying to replace files in the framework-res.apk and putting it back messes with my phone for some odd reason. Is there anyway someone who knows their stuff make it flashable?

Hello.
Must I have root-rights to do it?
Cause, when I adb Shell it and use the first command from step 1, it says:
adb pull: permission denied.

Vanilla lock screen on damage control?

Dconfig comes built into the DC rom - if you are using the latest DC rom, just open the app drawer and look for dconfig.
hmm, that didn't work, i might be doing something wrong, thanks though
You need to remove HtcLockScreen.apk from /system/app on the phone
or use Dconfig (included with damagecontrol roms..look in your app tray) and goto the banned apps and ban htclockscreen.
I had problems banning the HtcLockScreen too, & had to manually do it.
Using Android Terminal Emulator ( & after flashing the proper zip file) i ran:
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblk3 /system
cd /system/app
mv HtcLockScreen.apk /dcbanned

& then rebooted, & got the Vanilla Lock Screen.
[[ In another thread some other users had other mount commands ( someone told me the "yaffs2" part was not required ) but that command worked for me so that's why i posted it as-is. ]]

I banned htc lockscreen and it came up all messed up, if i want to unlock my screen i have to slide up, not across. i downloaded the vanilla theme but when press it to update it shows "No MD5 file according to the update was found" and if i hit apply it reboots and goes to a screen with a box and arrow for a brief moment and then it shows a exclamation mark and the android guy. it doesn't do anything after that please help.
That's the default Recovery. Do you have Clockwork Recovery installed? If so, DamageControl doesn'y work well with that. You can either replace it with Amon's Recovery or instead of applying the Theme after download, restart into Recovery manually, & flash it that way.
thank you very much. yes i did have clockword mod recovery but i managed to flash the image manually

P.S. use at your own risk and make backup of your old files (/system/lib/egl/*) in case something went wrong.
Worked thanks.

[APP][31.07.2011] OpenVPN update.zip for CWM

Hi,
I created an update.zip that you can flash in CWM.
After that you just need to install OpenVPN Settings from the market and add your config files.
if you want to know what exactly will happen then you can open the following file in the zip:
Code:
/META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script
the idea for the update.zip came after an initial topic on how to get OpenVPN to work in combination with the amount of updates designgears is bringing us with his great Cognition rom
this update.zip is tested with Cognition 1.15, Cognition 1.21, Cognition 1.31 & the first Nightly of CM7 (in 0, OpenVPN didn't work for me)
*reserved* just in case
Does this work on stock rom?
Sweet!!! Thanks!
Thanks! Great little addition to my "ROMs" folder

the update.zip should work as it mounts the /system, copies needed files and create symlinks
OpenVPN needs tun.ko in the kernel from what I understand so I'm not sure the stock kernel supports it..
It works perfect!
Thank you!!

Well I installed it and started up OpenVPN and it doesn't complain over a missing tun.ko. So I would assume I am in the clear.
Is there anyone using OpenVPN with SIPdroid? My OpenVPN connection is working (via 3G I can access the modem configuration screen of my homenetwork by simply entering the local ip in the browser on my phone), but SIPdroid won't connect. I see the red dot, sometimes it goes to the yellow dot (trying to reconnect), but never the green dot (connection established).
Thanks, the zip works fine for me, on stock ROM with CF-Root.
I'd previously installed OpenVPN and settings app and got it reporting a connection without the tunnel and IP address actually being present. This works fine with my same config and keys!
great ,,, thanks

you need to reboot to recovery (ClockWorkMod) and flash the update.zip attached to the first thread like you would flash a rom (but without wiping offcourse )
Thx!
So you mean I have to flash the SGS2 like at the rooting proceedure?
- copy the zip file on your internal sdcard (/sdcard)
- reboot to recovery
- select "install zip from sdcard"
- select "choose zip from sdcard"
- now select the file and flash it
- reboot and you should be all set
How do I get in recovery mode again? Lock Button, Reduce Sound Button and Center Button?
good question, don't really know
The roms I used always had the extended power menu (long press power button) and had the recovery option..
I got it. It was with CWM
Thx 4 help!
Hey thanks
already got tired of making all the symlinks again and again
so im gonna test it now
but why a update flash is nessesary?
you need root for ovpn settings anyway and all needed (beside proper tun.ko) are proper symlinks to busybox
so wouldnt it be enough to make an app where oyu enter path to BB and do all symlinking?
btw - no the tun.ko dont have to be compiled in the kernel - thats what insmod is for - linux you know *g*
Thank you for your work!

any chance you can do the same for deodexed 4.1.1 ?

-restart into recovery
-wipe cache
-wipe dalvik cache
-restart your phone

flasher says [error] We need one sdcard mountted!]
[EXIT] Check and configurre MOD.config
in the tools folder of the zip, there is a file called run.sh that checks what sd card the /cache/tools gets put to...
Could it have something to do with the sd card actually being now called sdcard0 ?
#SET THE WORKING SDCARD & EXIT IF GOT CRITICAL ERRORS
if [ -e /cache/tools/ERROR`basename $SD` ] && [ -e /cache/tools/ERROR`basename $SD2` ] && [ $BACKUP = "yes" ];then
UI_PRINT " "; UI_PRINT "[ERROR] We need one sdcard mounted!"; UI_PRINT "[EXIT] Check and configure MOD.config"
EXITING "0"
elif [ -e /cache/tools/ERROR`basename $SD` ];then
SD=$SD2
you need to change run.sh and mount.sh in the /tools folder in this zip ....
for each instance of $SD change it to $sdcard0
for each instance of $SD2 change it to $extSdCard
Once I did that, added the two files back into the zip, put to sd, and then flashed again, it worked great !
