Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I am 99% sure your device will be toast if you flashed a G1 radio onto your desire.
I hope I am proved wrong though.

Help, i think ive bricked my HTC Hero :((((((

Hi Guys,
I really need your help.
I went and got myself the new HTC Hero (G2) on t-mobile about 2 weeks ago - since i have got it i have been doing loads of research and stuff in to the device and started to have a play around with it last night.... the first thing i did was install VillainROM 5.2: RELEASE CANDIDATE - for GSM HERO (NOW WITH KITCHEN!) Image just incase summin bad happens (ironic really) and then took a nandroid backup .
I then went ahead and installed the MoDaCo ROM..... I then thought i'd try another ROM just to see how easy it is (or isn't) to load them..... but something has gone wrong somewhere.... after i loaded VillainROM custom ROM i cannot get passed the G2 Touch boot screen..... nothing seems to work.
I have wiped the device several times and formatted the sdcard several times and tried to restore from the nandroid backup but nothing has worked.
Any ideas guys?
Cheers,
Dev

It won't even switch on when plugged in?
Yeah... that sounds bricked.
ive send you an email
If you've JUST switched ROMs, there's nothing you could've done to brick your handset, UNLESS you've flashed a CDMA radio instead of a GSM radio in order to flash the 2.1 roms.
Otherwise, try to get into recovery mode while holding the HOME button and pressing POWER ON. Don't let go until you get into recovery mode.
Like I mentioned; unless you've flashed a CDMA radio, you should be able to enter recovery.

"I've tried tuning my car, but I've broken it; help me buy a new car"
lol man, do people really fall for that?
Ive plug in Phone now and nothing phone not responding ;/ ((( what i need to do it's any chances to fix this :??
I flashed a CDMA radio ;/ and after this i put file with rom into my memory and i flash flash was stop somewhere in the middle and phone was switched off, and now dont wont to switch on
Why would you flash a CDMA radio on a GSM Hero?
don't know i think its nessesery ;/
Its like i sed it was my frist time so i do it... and i lose g2 ;/
Well then you are bricked.
There are ways to recovery from this but they are not widely documented and are not easy to do.
Never ever ever flash anything CDMA on a non CDMA device and visa versa.
Fuc...... he..... Thanks any way ;/

Stuck At HTC White Screen :/ Bricked?

So I think i have officially bricked my Evo. Apologies if this is the wrong sections. Didnt know where to put it.
Well I had rooted with Simpleroot and everything was just fine. But when i tried to install a copy of the Fresh root suddenly i was stuck at the white screen. So i went into recovery and and wiped everything. I also partitioned the sd card... Dont know if i should have done that but i figured it would wipe everything.. It did and now my zip files are gone. I Dont know what to do.. Yikes
Help much appreciated .
Lol because lol

Probably shoulda gone into Q&A....but u erased all.the data on ur card when u formatted it. You should probably follow the root instructions again from the start including copying the files to your sd card and u should be fine.
You could have done a simple search and fixed ur issue.

Sorry I thought this my be the wrong forum section. I cant access my Sd card though?
Your Evo isn't bricked.
Select the USB-MASS toggle feature in recovery mode, that'll mount your SD card to your computer, then drop a ROM or two onto the root of your SD card, wipe, then flash one.
Or pull the SD card out and put it in an adapter and plug into computer, then drop a couple roms on it

Youre definitely not bricked. Pull the battery out, boot into fast boot, wait a sec while it does its thing, then select wipe/restore factory defaults. Then it should be fine. This happened to me 2 days ago. When bricked, the phone won't even turn on. It does nothing, thus the term.

That's a pretty douchie comment. Just because notify likes you, and everyone treats you like **** in the real world, doesn't give you an excuse to be a " richard" in a forum.

Im sorry you feel that way maybe you need to hug from someone but not me. There was nothing rude or wrong with my posting. There are basic knowledge required to do what the OP wants to do and so I directed toward that direction. If you would like to continue to express your PERSONAL feelings please PM me.
Yeah Anyways. The problem now is that everytime i try and boot from a zip file i just get a white screen. Is there anyway to bypass this?

Which ROM's are giving you theses problems?
Ive tried the fresh 1.0.1 thats when it all started then i tried the EVO-NonSense.
I had been flashing roms before the Fresh one now im just stuck at the white screen.
Are you using Koush's Clockwork recovery? Try flashing Yay 4 Juggs ROM.
Im using the RA recovery that came with SimpleRoot
Yeah, just try flashing a different ROM.
Hmm i'll try. Is there anyway to earse my root and start over? Because for now im just get the htc Evo 4g white logo everytime i try and flash a new ROM
Did you update the radios and all that too? Did you make sure and use the right version of simple root for your software?
Yeah Yesterday I was flashing ROMS normally. Something may have happened when i tried to flash a radio and wimax

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBu6GsRZMdI Some random video I looked up on YouTube that shows you how to unroot. It's a hassle, to unroot, then root again, I'd give flashing a different another shot before I did that.
Stupid question: Are you wiping data and dalvik cache before flashing a ROM?

[Q] I Need Help Plz

I have been at this for about 4-5 hours trying to root doing every little damn thing everybody has suggested i get all the way to where it is suppesed to say recovery but i have no luck at all im to the point of breaking will someone plz hlp me if u are in the pittsburgh area maybe we could meet up and get a successfull result im so flustered ive rooted the droid the g1 and the my touchs and never had this much trouble trying to root my damn phone
Just keep trying, man. It sometimes takes awhile to get your phone to actually show as "offline" in the adb loop. Just think, after you're done, you can flash the eng release and not have to worry about using the loop every time.
Have you changed the flash in the phone? I replaced my factory 8GB Class 2 flash chip with a new 8GB Class 6 flash chip and I had the same problem. I put the original factory flash back in and the phone went into recovery no problem. Apparently recovery is flaky with some flash chips.
Also, this is the Dev forum, not the Q&A forum. You'll want to post other questions in the appropriate area.
Same thing here once I changed out the factory sdcard with my 2 gig from my g1 it worked on the first try.

Almost always user error. Read the instructions again. By the way, WRONG SECTION! FFS you're question has a 'Q' in front, that goes to 'Q' and A.

RUU.exe(for stock rom) won't do anything, stays at sending.

Hey all,
I wanted to S-OFF my phone but found ot later that I need a rooted stock rom. I've flashed it yesterday and gone back to MIUI but today it stays at 'Sending......' and won't do anything, my phone has this metalic HTC logo and nozhing happens, I can always abort it and no harm will be done, but it's weird since I can't return to stock ROM now, anyone might help me?
@Edit, Wow that was really stupid, the only thing wrong was that the USB "port" didn't worked, tried in the one I used yesterday and worked just nice, sorry for this thread, a moderator can freely close it.
but you don't even have to use a stock rom lol, most ROMs work for it anyway.
And by rooted stock, that doesn't mean RUU and re root ha ha

[Q] Freez on booting

Hello. I have a problem with flashing roms. First of all, i do everything like it should be done. I know because i have android for 2 years now.
The problem is. Every time i flash a OC kernel "sense" rom, my device cant bootup. At first, it just get stuck at the htc logo. Then if i try to start up again, i get to the set up. And it just get stuck again. Sometimes i am even fast enough to skip setup and try to lower the cpu clock. I even get there but it just freeze again. Min-two max! Now, i am currently running Cm7 and on 768mhz(806 freeze sometimes). Working great. But its just not as "good" as htc made sense is. Ive tried every rom there is, and...yeah...you get the point...
I contacked a few of ppl that made those roms, but they all say "i cant help you" at the end of conversation...
I think there are few other people with the same issue. So, you will not be just helping me.
Sorry if i made some grramar mistakes i am not British...
Htc wfs EU s-ON. Unlocked bootloader.
Thanks for your help! Cheers

You could try flash a sense rom, followed by a stock kernel before booting. This should be stable but it means that you will loose support for the additional features they add. I think m1nd******* has a patch for his rom that makes it only clock to stock speed, could be worth trying
Thanks

Ok, i did that. Its working. Now, i saw i can oc manually after this. Do i have to disable no-frills first? Now is 120-600 smass2.
And, thanks, its working. But only this rom... This is sad. And if devs put their rom to startup with 600, will it mean that i can boot it? Then its really bad for me they put 806 as stock, im guessing im not the only one with this problem. Just put 600 as stock, after you can set cpu as u like/need... Just a though...
