[Q] LiquidE port - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I see on ID's twitter that Kingklick92 will be taking over the LiquidE port for the Evo.
If he brings it to a completely stable point, wouldn't it theoretically be a relatively easy to port that version to the Inc?

Yes

Id say that ID could even port it after its done on the evo, but then again it just means he'll still be coding for it.

Would it theoretically be possible for people to post questions in Q&A instead of Dev?

Why do people waste their time posting flames after the question is already answered? Seems like a waste of time.
To the mods, my apologies.

Indeed. I too dislike humans.
There is no Root
There is no root out for 2.2 yet. A sticky are the posts that are always on top of the forum list you will see a pin icon right before the title. The XDA devs are working on finding an exploit for 2.2 but as of right now no one has made any or mentioned making any progress on rooting 2.2. I along with many other new EVO users bought it with the damn 2.2 already up an running. But worry not it may take a few months but no one has ever built a perfect un exploitable system. Some one some day will figure it out just give them some time until then cheers.
Sorry dude, there is no root method for Froyo yet. I'm sure its in the works. Not saying this to be mean or sarcastic, just a heads up, try to familiarize yourself with the search feature here and do alot of reading to make sure your question hasn't been answered yet. It will save you from getting flamed by other members for posting something that's been asked multiple times already. A sticky is basically a thread deemed important by the mods. It will always be at the top of the thread list. There's one that explains all the forum rules. Hope this helps and enjoy XDA.

Goosey,
I think this IS in the correct forum. He wants a Samsung Fascinate port for his Incredible. Where do you want him to post it, in the Fascinate forums? That would make zero sense.

My guess would be "General" or "Q&A" since this is a question/request and not an actual port...

And it makes zero sense to post a QUESTION in "Android Development" when there is a QUESTION & ANSWER sub-forum...
IMHO this is where he should be.

Thread Moved to QA
Lol
+10char
oh look, it got moved to q&a... what a surprise...
I asked this same question a page or 2 back and everyone kept saying "oh just install the launcher".. which sucked anyways. I think it would be cool to try the whole experience.
Just a rough port. Nothing that needs maintaining

Rosie's Framework aka HTC Sense's Framework.

So I'm getting pretty ignorant responses from a few people over at my own phone's Q&A forum, but its highly likely and due to the fact that they know zilch about Sense and misunderstood me when I said NOT port, but SPOOF. Now, I ask the Sense Community who actually OWN a sense device,if any of you are devs or experienced users in this area. What is checked by your HTC devices when you run an HTC widget? The most common thing I have browsed around and found was people saying "oh, its because of the framework" but truly is that all that is checked? If so, I have probable cause in believing that a thorough understanding of the verifying process could lead to a spoof of it in order to work on other devices. Input anyone?

This information might be drastically outdated but when I was on T-Mobile I owned a Vibrant. Reason I tell you this, lol, is because some of the devs were were speaking of a Sense project.
actually a quick seach:

I didn't read the whole thread but the OP might have some insight to your question being on another Samsung phone.
Thanks, I'll have a look.

[Q] T-Mo/AT&T unlock

Is there a way to make a rooted and SIM-unlocked DInc2 usable on AT&T and T-Mo networks in the US? Any sort of flashable upgrade to any internal components, hacked radio or whatnot that would achieve that purpose?
Search the forum. There you will find the out that this can be done. As well as the fact you shouldn't post questions in the dev section.

Also, xtc clip or call vzw and ask for an unlock code.

I have searched and I couldn't find much on this topic either. Granted I did it using tapatalk which leaves a bit to be desired in the search department. My point is that it might be more helpful overall to just answer the question rather than refuse simply because someone missed a thread and can't manage to find it using search for some reason.

I understand that, but it wouldn't be entirely uncool to answer the question along with any chastising someone might feel is necessary. or at least help someone in the right direction, which doesn't include the entirely unhelpful "search" comment all too common to forums with regulars.

If it is, I can't find it.
I have re-posted the question in the General forum, but all I got there so far is more of the same arrogant ignorance that some of the replies demonstrated here.
I believe it is perfectly clear from my original post that the phone is _already_ SIM unlocked and rooted.
Let's move further discussion to the General forum to avoid moderators' wrath.
If I'm not mistaken its a global phone. However the GSM frequency used abroad is different than in the states. Therefore I don't think it's possible.

It works with ATT and TMo. If you are talking about 3G on them, then that's a no. Hardware limitation.
Why posting here?

No one can answer this but you. If you are unsure then I would advise you not to do it. Educate yourself on the pros and cons and determine if it will hold any value for you.

The way you phrased your post sounded like you were asking of you should root or not. And I think this is kind of a silly question to ask on a dev forum when the answer is so obvious. I believe that rooting is the only way to bring out the full potential. Even better is the development of custom roms.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747
It's a must for me.
Well as personal experience I would say ROOOT!!, but only if you feel confident enough arround the system that you wont screw it up
Don't root. You will get pregnant and die

As mentioned, do some research and decide what you need to do with your phone. Do you want features not available with stock? An Engineer at Qualcomm just stated at XDAevCon 2013 yesterday that a custom ROM can be one of the best ways to increase battery life, however ERD Jcase stated that it opens security risks so he chooses not to root. The choice is yours. But read, read, read before you decide.
I will never own an Android phone that is stock. Once I took the plunge back with my Inspire 4G, I couldn't run stock. It would drive me crazy. Too many features and Roms to try.

Talking about risk, theres no risk if u follow and read the steps very carefully, although there are largely benefits of rooting, on battery, resources, space, and ofcourse using some rooted apps like root call blocker, titanium backup, greenify, and many more.....

Your question was already answered here on your very on posting. If that is not enough information for you please type that question on Google or yahoo and pick and choose from the results. There are so many articles, blogs, and forums on this that you should not need to ask what the benefits are.

You have to understand that they are trying to clean up these forums from the many and many useless questions and posts that have been asked and answered many times for years; What are the benefits of rooting being one of them, which actually takes longer to type in using a simple google search, than to find the answer.
They feel here that these types of posts only crowd the forums, and only get in the way of people's searches for more useful information.
