Edit: Got it working with the back camera calling to PC

aim with vid would be nice
Working on froyo but the app use bak cam ugjhhh
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Use the Options>About Messenger>Report A Problem menu to report this to yahoo if you want it to be fixed.
I was just using this today. Its pretty f'n awesome; Being able to video call to yahoo users really opens up the functionality. Lets hope they add support for the front facing cam soon...
you can always talk in a mirror
it is currently working fine with video chat, it just picks the back camera instead of the front
I tried it at home from my SGS to PC and it worked decently enough
however i tried from my SGS to my friend's iphone4 who is half the world away and it was pretty laggy :<
And the iphone app is still miles better than the android one when it comes to speed. Hope they optimize it soon!
also they released video calling for iphone but it doesnt work on the ipod touch 4 which has 2 cameras.
Has anybody tried voice calling sans the video? How do you rate that? Does it work with earphones? Can you use earphones with video calling and use back camera for that?
You cannot skip the video. Or, at least, I didn't realized how to do that.
I am in London , And i have Galaxy S with Three ....

I'm with ya on that one...it just sits there "calling".
Yup with ya. Installed Yahoo messenger and set up a second test account. Try calling from phone or PC and nothing happens on the other. Call is not notified and ends as unanswered.
May be there are only some lucky people who can Make Video Calls Right Now ... Looks like we will have to wait for the Official Yahoo Video Version for Us

I'm running SGS with 2.2 froyo here, and the answer is no it doesn't work with headset, and there is a big feedback between the phone speaker and its mic, you'll keep on hearing echo.
By the way it works when you call the computer with the phone but not vice versa. The voice quality was great, if you are hearing it from the computer but if you are using the phone you will keep on hearing echoes.
It only recognize the back 5mp camera, and even there is a switch camera option, still you couldn't choose the front camera when chatting.
But still this was one great app, at least somehow it is working... hope there will improvements when it comes to compatibility with SGS when the official version comes out.

Has anyone been able to find a WORKING app which records audio from a Bluetooth headset on the Galaxy Nexus?
The ones I've tired force close or can't find the audio source...

when someone calls your google voice phone number. you can pickup the phone call and press 4 to record the call; this works even if you're speaking on a bluetooth headset.
I don't use Google voice, but rather was looking for something to record memos instead of phone calls.

I've tried the ones which explicitly say they record Bluetooth audio, but none of them work. Regular recording apps will always pick the mic off the phone, which isn't what I'm looking for.

Thats not actually true from my experiences. By connecting a bluetooth headset it should 'hijack' the speaker and microphone and use your bluetooth one by default.

With the app you posted, using a galaxy Nexus?
I'll give it a try.
EDIT: that didn't work at all. It records only from the built in mic.

this is true of the sg2 on various roms i think its pretty damning that a smart phone cant record phone calls really makes android look like a pile o rubbish. i have tried alot to get call recording on a bluetooth headset and nothing works. once after loading about 20 apps on an old ics rr rom it started working litrally by magic so i know it is possible to work but no one seems to care or managed to do it which is deffinetly very pathetic quite fankly. concidering i can watch two channels of live tv while down loading a film using my phone as router over 3g etc all at the same time its amazing but i cant record a phone call ffs.
Its now 2015, has anyone had any luck with this or found and app in the store that actually works. Cheers

I found one!!
There's an app called Boldbeast call recorder that has worked with Bluetooth on my Note 4: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.boldbeast.recorder&hl=en
The good is that it works (on the note 4), the bad is that this app is $11 (free version without auto-record is available), but it works and it saves me from having to waste more time looking for a solution. :good:
I DO NOT KNOW if this works on the Galaxy Nexus, for whoever still owns that phone.

I can confirm that Boldbeast works on my Galaxy S4 (i9500) as well. I had to do a little bit of tweaking (give the app root access, change SELinux to permissive(there's an app on XDA for that)), but I was able to get it to record both ways with a bluetooth headset (Plantronics voyager edge) when I put the Record Mode to "Alsa Mode (Root)" However the volume is a little low, and when I tried to give it a 20% boost in volume in the app settings, the recorded conversation was really really distorted. Turned it back to 0% volume increase, and it's at least not distorting the sound.
I am using a custom ROM (n4/s6 by @alemtro) and kernel (can't remember but as it turns out it's not permissive), and of course it's rooted.
ACR has a far better UI, and does auto call in the free version, but they don't want to play around with SELinux etc because that is against the Play Store terms. So if you don't need BT recording, that's a better app, but like me if you really need BT recording, Boldbeast seems to be the only option (and a good one).
Hi,
I have a problem using Skype with my Xperia Play (R800i) on CM9.1.0-Zeus (kernel 2.6.32.9-FXP)
Front and Rear camera are working separately, but when I am doing a skype video call the camera I use is not working on my own screen.
I will try to explain this :
The person I am calling sees me perfectly with front or rear camera
I can see the person I am calling no matter which camera I am using
On my skype video call screen, there is a little square on the bottom right corner where I am supposed to see a smaller video of what my phone is sending, but this square freezes and displays a black picture.
I tried using google call and with this software the smaller video displays perfectly.
I guess the problem comes from Skype but I have no idea how to fix it (I have the latest version of Skype : 3.2.0.6673)
I have done some research but I don't find any record of the same problem.
Anyone has ever heard about this?
Happens to me too exact same problem but because the front cameras quality is so poor I don't even use Skype on this phone. usually use it on a lg revolution
Also happens on Google now when you use search by camera it gets all green and fuzzy

Ok, so this problem is "common"!
I don't have any other phone so I have to use my Play and as most of my friends/family are using Skype, I have to stick with that.
Have you found some posts talking about this? (because I didn't)
Do you know if anyone was able to understand or solve this problem?
(I am not using google now, but I see the camera is a recurring problem)
Hey guys, I've got a small problem with recording audio on my phone, the Samsung galaxy Note 3 Neo SM 750. Every 5 seconds or so, there's a small break in the audio being recorded. This happens when using the default Voice recording app, as well as any 3rd party app, like when recording a voice note in Whatsapp for example, or when taking a video in the camera app. As a result, now even when i record videos, the audio and the video are horribly out of sync.
Is this a mic problem? I'm using Stock touchwiz and i recently got an update to 4.4 kitkat. This problem seems to have arisen after that.
I would be most grateful for suggestions.
Thanks,
I have the same. After hard reset the problem fixes for some time, but the next day it returns. Impossible to use audio and video recording. I would appreciate any ideas to solve this.
Hello, I think I found the reason. Try to disable voice calling OK Google from any application. This seems to help.

This is the solution, I have been facing this issue for a couple of months and I was about to flash a new rom haha.
yeah bro its working thanku for such a great solution
I recently fitted a GA2114 into my car, and for the most part I'm really happy with it. I liked the idea of adding a dash-cam so I bought a R0003 camera to go with it, but I'm having a couple of issues:
1. With the camera plugged in it seems to disable Bluetooth Media, so I can't listen to any media that my phone is playing - and as that is precisely why I upgraded to a BT head unit it's a bit of a show stopper. Eonon CS have confirmed that this will happen. Surely there must be a way to fix this?
2. Assuming #1 gets fixed, how do I set it so that the camera starts and stops recording automatically when I start/stop the car?
Anyone know anything about these??? TIA
Any updates on this? I'm looking at this model as well. Wondering if its a power issue that a powered USB hub would fix ( Putting the camera on a powered hub ).
Nope, no further. I've tried the Malaysk custom ROM and it's the same. I think the problem is that the camera is also an audio sauce, so it takes over. Eonon seemed to suggest that they could fix this, but probably wouldn't bother. Shame as it makes either the ability to use a dash cam, or having bluetooth pointless.
that's not good. I was hoping to run the dash cam also and Bluetooth is a must. How is malaysk's rom running for you? Trying to get everything lined up. I'm now the owner of a ga2114 just waiting for it to come in the mail. Have you asked Malysk to look into it?
Any tips / hints I should know about the ga2114? Are you still enjoying it?
couldn't you use a different cam, like a go pro or something that is wireless?

It's a pretty good unit, and apart from the bluetooth/dash cam issue does everything I need. Being able to load standard Android apps is brilliant for sure. For fun I loaded a Live Wallpaper of a fireplace on, slightly bizarre to drive along with a roaring fireplace in your dashboard.
Malaysks ROM does the job fine, but I haven't really delved into the guts enough to get much of a benefit over stock ROM. Biggest extra you get is the stock music player has Random playback which is bizarrely missing from stock.

At the moment that's exactly what I'm doing, I have a Mobius cam mounted and doing it's own recording. Works about 95%, just occasionally I have to start it manually for some reason.

So if you use another cam model, Bluetooth isn't an issue? I was thinking about looking for a camera that had no microphone and test it. I've got a couple laying around once my hu finally gets here.
Edit -
I just saw the cam you are using is a stand alone model. I'll still test other cameras to see if its just an issue with that specific camera model. There's a few other types of cameras that say they work for android.
Also, there's an app on the play store that says it supports other PC cameras. Camerafi is one of them. Wonder if there's another car DVR program that supports any USB camera to test.

Hi.
I have been using this forum for years but this is the first time I started a thread so I hope it hasn't been answered before. I did a search but didn't see anything that matches my query.
I have a Sony bravia XF9005 running android 7 and I haven't updated android since I bought it.
I was trying to get a video conferencing app to work on the TV because I had been using screen mirroring from apps on my phone but the quality was hit and miss and it wasn't as convenient as doing it directly on the TV.
I have managed to get Skype Lite, Zoom and Jami onto the TV and used TV App Repo to create shortcuts for them in the launcher.
I have connected a logitech C270 webcam to the TV and got it to work for video. I got this working by switching the TV to pro mode and running Skype which then connected to the camera. When I switch back to normal TV mode Skype, Zoom and Jami all work fine with the camera but the audio mic built-in to the camera is not working.
I got around this problem by connecting a USB mic to another USB port on the TV and it works well when I can get the apps to connect to it. The mic I am using is a Blue Yeti.
In Skype lite if I make a video call to another Skype account everything seems fine until both devices are connected but then I have no audio from the Yeti. I have found a quick way around this is to make an audio call to the other device, the yeti is recognised and the audio works perfectly, then I just switch on the video and both work fine. It is the same for receiving a Skype call, if I answer with video the Yeti doesn't work but if I answer as audio only it works fine, then I can just switch the video on and it's all good again. I'm not too bothered about this as the workaround is easy enough.
In Zoom I have been able to get it to work well with both the camera and the mic but there are problems with it too. When I first installed the latest Zoom app and started a meeting it asks me for permission to use my video and my audio. When I give permission both work perfectly and I have had 4 devices in a meeting with no problems at all. As long as I don't close the app I can go from meeting to meeting with no problem but when I close the app and open it again I have no audio from the Yeti. I found a workaround on this as well but it is not as easy as the Skype one. Before I open Zoom I go to the app settings and permissions and disable the microphone permission for Zoom. Then when I create a meeting the app asks me for the mic permission and everything works perfectly again.
I have gone into the developer options and changed the Select USB Configuration to Audio Source. I have also allowed zoom to automatically switch on the sound in one of its settings but neither has made any difference. It seems like after the app is closed it doesn't recognise the mic on the next use.
Is there a way of automatically disabling a permission for an app after the app is closed or does anyone know of another workaround. I know that the apps aren't designed to work on the Android TV version of Android but bar these little problems they do work well.
I haven't really played around with Jami as much as the others so I haven't looked to see if I can get the audio working with it but the video works fine. I also tried the normal Skype app but it tends to turn itself into portrait mode when you are making calls or changing settings whereas the Skype Lite app runs perfectly in landscape all the time and it is much quicker too.
I was going to try Tellybean but I haven't got around to it yet plus most people already know Skype and now Zoom whereas I'm not sure how wide Tellybean is known.
Thanks for any help.
Hmm, a difficult situation. Have you solved this problem yet? A friend of mine works with conferences on https://brightvisionevents.co.uk/conferences / and he often gives me advice about my work because I often use conferences. I had a similar situation. Most likely, this is an incorrect operation of the microphone drivers. I think either reinstalling Windows or removing the microphone drivers and installing them from the official website of your Blue Yeti microphone can help you. I hope my advice helped you and you will solve your problem. Write if you have succeeded in everything, maybe it will help someone. Good luck!
