Is it possible to install and run g-sen enabled iPhone games on Touch HD ???
Only thing in iPhone which is beating touch Hd hands down are the games available for iphone . One of my colleague is rubbing it in all the time by showing amazing games on iPhone which is not possible on WinMo devices like diamond/pro or now HD.
games
Not sure if there are any games like that, but show him the things HD can do that iphone cant do. My daughter has an iphone, she doesnt play games, but other things such as tons of programs, Tom Tom are just a few. She walks away....
Oh yeah, thats also my question. I had seen on an IPhone of my friend "Super Monkey Ball". I fell completely in love with this game... But for sure, I'll by a Touch HD, can I port this game for windows mobile? Or does it exist already this game for wm? I really want this game.. Or at least, knows anyone here something equal? Greez, cad^^
I don't think it will be possible to port the games - besides the different Operating Systems there is one mayor difference in using the games -> MultiTouch
Yes, but for example "super monkey ball" doesn't use the touchscreen at all (besides for the menue, but this isn't multitouch), its a game only for the g-sensor. So, wouldn't it be possible to play the same game on the touch HD? Its suuuch a great game, really!!! Please, is there some hope? Greez, cad^^

Actually both even have similar processors, but the main problem is they run different operating systems, so if you dont port the application itself you would need some kind of emulator which might not only exceed the present processing power but also might not offer the same experience as if run natively.

Or would it not be possible for someone to figure out how to run Iphone OS on HD? Or is that even possible?
With a screen with twice the pixels than the iphone don't spect the HD to be able to move the screen on games smooth like iphone.I think only games using 3d aceleration can be smoother.... And why is not a Direct 3D standard on WM ?
I really like the bowling game on the iPhone. Is there an equivalent for WM?
Im interested in this to. If we currently cant port iphone games, then what games out there take advantage of the g-sensor and 3D drivers inside of the blackstone? It has to be more then tweeter.
hi !!
Is there any news about that...because to be honnest, I'm a little bit disapointed by HTC... I thought that more games would came for it...
Games!
Yep there don't appear to be any good games, the current crop such as machines at war or call of duty 2 have various bugs because of the high resolution. Apparently the hd actually has a custom graphics chip that HTC wont allow developers to access.
I wish someone could make HTC understand that with this screen if there were games comparable to the iphone the HD would have mass market appeal and blow the iphone away.
yah!!!
That is exactly what I also think... lets wait and see, maybe they need more time
an iphone emulator for hd
hi guys
there are some issue that we should notice :
1. i think we as developers should take participate in this and make emulator to run the iphone gamse on blackstone , waiting for game companies to figure it out is not a good way.
2. the multi touch problem will resolve in WM7 , so just be a little more patient fo it.
3. blackstone really need some thing to resolve this problem , if there is not , iphone will win.
4. please come together to make it right.
thanx all
Unfortunately, an iphone emulator is out of the question -- the two devices are too similar in processing power for one to be able to emulate the other. Running the iphone OS is also unlikely, given how much trouble there is even with running Android. All we can hope for are native ports of games, which, given the current market trend towards the iphone app store (e.g. warfare inc.), is unlikely.
i dont know ive i may post them and ive its freeware but i have a lot of games/funny stuff for the blackstone
dont know ive i may post it because i got it from somewhere else and i think some programs are cracked ive a mod can help ill upload it somewhere and send the link to you so the mod can check ive i may post it

porting games == having the sourcecode and doing the changes required for it to run on another platform
2 problems with iphone source code which makes it hard to port
1. it's objectiveC rather then c++ / c or c# which are the languages more used on wm
2. it use cocoa the apple version of .net kinda which don't exist on wm
another option is
redoing the whole game
writing it from scratch but thats a lot of work
i think ms has done a good job of persuading devvers to jump ship from iphone to winmo. i think that, by wm7, gaming will be far more commonplace on windows mobile.
games
Well there is a website with some pretty good freeware games. This is the link
www.krenisiswinmobilegamesapps.com
Has games like supermariobros, metalslug, and canabalt. They are all freeware but they are pretty fun.
I mean I understand that it's to be released on both the Xbox and WP7 at the same time but really? That's it? I am thoroughly disappointed this time. Xbox has dug through mounds of **** just to make a name for itself and what has Windows Phone 7 shown in that department? I mean there's ilomilo and then theres iphone clones. It's so sad to see a first rate OS by a corporate giant turned into a third rate gaming platforms because they'd rather spend a huge budget on advertising what the phone can currently do rather than making that Xbox live tile appeal to a plethora of users who had hope in their hearts when they saw Xbox live integration and watched it be shat on with garbage like... well... half the stuff on the Xbox live WP7 marketplace. It's cool that you're getting the most popular iphone clone and a game I played on my beat up sega dreamcast a decade ago but really, where's the innovation?
I think it might be time to change your siggy...
I don't have an xbox, so I don't care so much about the integration, but I'm finding way more games I like on my phone right now than on android or winmo.
Currently working on twin blades, AC, I dig it, and The Harvest. Also play majong(sp) tiles and a couple rounds of spades as well.

Ah, R.I.P. Twin Blades. It was a great game unfortunately I've since swapped memory cards coincidentally on the day it vanished from the market and alas I am left without one of the defining games on the platform. I Dig It I havent really visited in some time due to the inability to save (not sure if that's still present), The Harvest has somewhat annoying controls, a virtual joystick makes more sense than a point and click diablo-esque phone game in my opinion, and AC has been on multiple other platforms as well as the other two games though perhaps not the exact same program. The astounding part though is regardless of the faults it's still the best. It's just that they've given us an amazing game or two (The Harvest really is amazing the controls just aren't for me) and then since have lacked innovation greatly. Where I thought they were going to try and stand alone it now looks like they're trying to be a "me too" platform. I did recieve an email from someone regarding a mobile version of Torchlight though and though they couldn't confirm or deny they did tell me it was an option they were exploring. That would be amazing as that game only takes like what? 140 megs on the xbox? Dull it down a bit and it could be a game changer for WP7.

I know there are several big titles slated for first week in april. I agree they could do more, and I think they will. MS, if nothing else, is willing to throw money at devs.
So what's next on your list of complaint...

yeah and though I'm ok with that theyre throwing money at devs to release iPhone ports. Originality is Microsoft ticket and they've got more capable devs on their rolodex than any other mobile os. They should utilize those resources...

always such informative and insightful posts. They add a lot to the conversation.
I'm starting to agree with you about all the new releases. Puzzle games have their place (especially on a mobile phone platform), but without more action titles, it makes it seem like XBox live is not really a serious reason for someone to get a WP7 as Microsoft would like people to think.
That said, I have actually really, really enjoyed the XBox Live games. I used WinMo and Android for a long time before WP7 and never really got into gaming on either platform but for some reason, I just started playing games on WP7 a lot. I don't have an XBox so the integration with XBox is not something I really care about. I like the achievements. It gives me something to play for.
The April releases will keep me satisfied for a while, but in my opinion, they need a lot more releases like those in April, not just every now and then.
edit: oh yeah, an afterthought... maybe chill out on the tower defense games. 1 is enough on the entire platform. It seems like every other game on the Marketplace is a freakin tower defense game. Not a big fan.
I guess you guys haven't seen the poker commercial on xbox live then? Its quite stupid.
You can play the game on both your console and phone.
Spoiler alert; its not the way you think it is. Integration my ass.

Give people a break. Typos are just typos and oftentimes, people use translators and such.
SPORTS GAMES! WTF!
Is there a single sports game on this platform? XBox may not have many either....but some sports games (i.e. one button swing type games) are made for mobile.
WP7 is lacking sports games something fierce.

How do y'all like WP7? I'm still on WinMo because Garmin Mobile XT is awesome, particularly where there is no cellular coverage. Also, I do not own a laptop and do a lot of long emails on my phone when I'm not at home with my 70lb desktop and I'm irritated that I can't get a WP7 device with the exact same keyboard as my Rhodium and at least the latest Qualcomm 45nm goodness in it complete with Adreno 205, much less the upcoming dual Cortex A8 with independent clock speed and CPU voltage and Adreno 220. Why in the Sam Hill did M$ decide that only 65nm OG Snapdragon SoC's were going to go into WP7 devices?
I read a few reviews of the Euro-spec 7 Pro and it seems that HTC used a crappy LCD but not as crappy as the HD7's, and they somehow messed up the chassis of the Rhodium and the keyboard. I like that I can get giant batteries for these things and that unibody sh*t jus doesn't float my boat. I guess I'm just pissed that WP7 is locked to 65nm Snapdragon and irritated with HTC for messing with the landscape qwerty slider chassis and keyboard that they perfected with the Rhodium.

Found another addicting, simplistic game to try. It's free and super easy. But it's time-passingly fun.
Hmm... What is the purpose of this "game" (except showing ads)? Funny popping sound?
One of my all-time favorites (from it's Facebook days).
The purpose is to figure out a way to create a chain reaction of explosions (hence the name ). The longer the chain, the higher the score you receive. The catch is that you only get one tap to start the reaction. If you don't explode enough of the balls on any level, you have to try again - you can't move on to the next level.
hello
whats the name of game?
Chain Reaction (it's in the thread title ).
I also found two more new games that seem to be pleasant: Enigmo, an XBOX Live title, and FlagSpotting.

The save feature has actually been there since version 1.0. It would automatically save your game any time the game "tombstoned" (Press the Windows key, get a text message, etc.). However, we realized that people would have no way of knowing this since it was not an advertised feature. That is why we added in the save game and exit button on the pause menu so that everyone would know that they could do that. Plus, with the 40 level "Insane" mode, it can take you a little while to work all the way through it. Maybe not something everyone wants to do in one sitting.
We can't say thank you enough for everyone making Chain Reaction such a hit! Look for our next game Pooping Pigeons to hit the marketplace later this week. Check out this page for some screenshots of it:

I was convinced some weeks back we'd never see Angry Birds for Bada. At least not in a time frame that would breath new life into the Bada app scene.
Then hell froze over and Angry Birds came out, but only for the Wave 3 and only for a few days. As is usual in the Samsung Bada disastersphere, an app just goes missing off the store with no explanation.
Now we've got Asphalt 6, Tintin, Hyperfight, and a few other Bada 2.0 only apps. Oddly most will on Bada 1.2, yet only can be downloaded for Wave 3 handsets. Keep in mind the Wave 3 handset only ever had Bada 2.0. Weird.
Anyway that got me thinking. I had a feeling maybe Samsung was holding back some apps for the release of the Wave 3. Maybe a good idea in their view, but a very poor one in mine. The Wave 3 will never sell as many handsets as the Wave II, let alone the Wave I. So nice move to go lockout all the previous Bada customers who put some faith in the OS, yet ended up again having waited for something and got... nothing.
I had wondered why there hadn't been any new apps from any of the big app companies for the best part of a whole year. Samsung seem to live in a world where they think people are prepared to wait endlessly while they fritter away time. It all makes sense now. Wipe the slate clean, and consider the Wave 1+2 as being testbeds. The Wave 3 is then ready to rule to world in their eyes. Thus they kept back these marque apps to help launch their Wave 3.
The problem is I still don't see any movement from app developers. Things are moving way to slow for any momentum to be made or for the early 8500 momentum to be kept going.
No matter how good Bada 2.0 is, Samsung simply cannot get anything done in a timely manner. It's not as though, hey guys we're sorry we need to polish a few things, and then it explodes all in an awesome way. No it'll be the same as we've all experienced so far. Waiting, promises of soon, leaks of things that will never get released, and enough carrots to keep people around just that little bit longer. But really it's sad a great handset has been killed by incredibly bad app store management, the slowness in how things were released, or even it at all. The low number of ported apps hurt the Wave as well. It's not that hard for a proper app company to port an app from the iOS/Android. I mean they get to use all the same art/sounds and most of the internal game code. So it has to come down to them not expressing interest, been turned off by Samsungs app policies or not seeing Bada as worth their time / or worth investing in a sinking/dying OS.
Bada 2.0 is goog enough to be the 3rd best phone OS imho. But the lack of apps ie. Skype will mean it will fail until such a time as Samsung either ditch it (Tizen perhaps?) or realise they do need to get marque apps and ports happening in abundance. At the end of the day I wouldn't care if I was using an iOS/Android or Bada phone as long as I was given a nice wide app selection. But I'm sick of this waiting feeling knowing we're just sitting there in the rowboat with no oars heading towards the falls.
At this point unless things change, people are already actually ditching their Waves and heading over to iOS/Android. I still hope the BadaDroid project turns out to be a success, but if not, in time I'm not going to give a toss and will just get a proper phone instead of using a phone that could have been one of the greats, but was knee capped at every opportunity to make it a failure.

I think you guys missed the point. I'm well aware of the workarounds and ways to get apps to "work". My point is it's disappointing that it comes to this. It's not as though there are 1000s of apps for the S8600 and with workarounds you can make em all work on the 8500. I'm totally ok with that. The problem is we aren't getting the apps in the first place. I've spent plenty of time helping others create programs and solutions for the Wave over the past year and a half.
My enthusiasm is waning if I'm being honest about this whole Bada experience. The amount of time and energy spent to even get a proper Skype on the Wave would have been better spent working a few extra hours and buying a proper Android phone. I see Bada now as nothing more than a dike full of holes. I've already used up all my fingers to plug them and it's still leaking.
Oh and maybe guys at least make the effort to read someones full post before assuming they are a lazy noob crybaby. Best Regards.

Well I don't agree!
You guys are at the point of almost saying "well if you don't get firmware updates often enough and if you don't get enough useful apps, start developing your own and hack your phone and scratch your left ear with your right hand going over your head.."
What would be next? Build your own hardware if you don't like the specifications? Isn't that a bit.. hmm, how should I say it... CRAZY?
Is that why you took the money out of your pocket and gave it to Samsung? To get some piece of hardware and start banging your head against the wall each day on how to actually do something with it?
If things were to ever change, they would change because of "5 year old girls in pink outfits crying" and saying "Samsung, we paid you so deliver or GTFO of the marketplace". Not because of "cool computer whizzes" spending nights in their room hacking their phone to make it smart.
Fact: compared to 2010, in 2011 Samsung mobile phone sales increased by ~7% reaching 300.000.000 units (8.000.000 running Bada and we know how things are on this side..)
Fact: compared to 2010, in 2011 Samsung's profit increased by 73% (I don't think that's due to entry level phones - since a 7% volume increase gives you a 73% profit increase that means you sold more expensive phones than the previous year)
Fact: the Galaxy S1 which was the flagship until not long ago won't get the last Android update because Samsung doesn't care about it anymore. It sells the S2 now.. So it motives dropping the support for the S1 by saying it doesn't have enough memory, even though manufacturers like HTC or LG (apparently) did manage to find a compromise and squeeze the extra resources on configurations similar to those of the Galaxy S1.
Although I agree with what KrazyKong is trying to say here, adfree is right. This is the "Bada Software and Hacking General" forum. This is the place where people get off their butts (metaphorically ) and actually do something. If you want ti complain about Samsungs disregard for Bada, there are plenty of other forums where you can do that.

do you advise upgrading my wave 2 from bada 1.2 to 2.0?
I would have advised staying with your wildfire, but anyway I'd suggest making sure you know which specific device you have and if it's locked or has specific modem requirements before flashing 2.0, for example, you said wave 2, do you mean S8530 or the other mid-low range bada phone?

I too agree with KrazyKong. He puts his finger right on the button in pointing out the way samsung deal with their app store...
Agreed, Adfree points out XDA is a place where we can effectively get off our arses but I think we at XDA aren't 'normal' phone users. How many of us are 'that guy(or girl) that knows telephones' ?
Also ask yourself this, what percentage of iPhone users tinker as we do with our phones? Oh and do Apple or Google for that matter bugger about with their app store as do Samsung ?
It's Samsung that are entirely to blame for the non-success of Bada.
The reason there's no Skype, blame Samsung.
No Angry Birds, Blame Samsung.
I do however give them credit for leaking firmware, If only they would leak more precise information about their modem
Cheers
Hello!
I am new to this forum so maybe it's not the best place to advertise it but i will give it a try. I am looking for someone who will help me with some Pixel Art for my first Indie game. For last few months i am creating my 1st tactic turn based game on PC and i have big struggle with graphic. I've learned a lot about this type of graphic but still it's big problem for me, i can't progress with this game as fast i would like to because of the graphic issues. If there is anyone who would like to help me or maybe someone who is starting with graphic and trying to put his work into something then PM or just send me a message on my mail [email protected]
PS. Just to make it clear, i am doing it for fun, for sake of doing game and i am just a student so i wont pay you for work unfortunately :/
