Here's the updated emulator build (thanks to pirozhki for unlocking it). There's no options to add data sources to sync/connect with. Now that we have the final build, hopefully we can get it working better than some of the beta builds.

To run it, just like the previous ones...
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft XDE\1.0\XDE.exe" "C:\Users\YOU\Desktop\WM70C1.en-US.unlocked.bin" /VMID {E575DA31-FC47-4766-853F-018D823B9EE6}
Or you can place the file in "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v7.0\Emulation\Images" with the name "WM70C1.en-US.bin" and debug with visual studio and it will launch. I believe this still does NOT work with https connections which is probably causing lots of things to not work. Hopefully we can get that figured out so we have a fully working build.
So here's the download!

I believe the emulator is still 'locked'. Anyone want to get crackin on fixing that? Here's the instructions I wrote up a while back for the previous build. I doubt they changed anything. I'll work on it when I get home from work if noone beats me to it

anyone unlock?
No-one unlocked this yet...
Barring any unforeseen issues, it'll be done in a few hours. Hold tight.
Any chance you could enable the task manager ans shortcuts while you're at it? Will save me having to redo the unlock when I get back to the office.
uploading my unlocked image right now.
RustyGrom,
Thanks a bunch for doing this!
A couple of comments from a developer who's intensively used the unlocked ROM for the last couple of months:
1. The "Task Manager" and "Shourtcuts" (File System Explorer) programs were missing from the last unlocked ROM. Any chance we can have those back?
I've got samples of how those apps looked like in the original unlocked rom @
justinangel.net/WindowsPhone7UnlockedRoms
2. HTTPs was disabled on the last unlocked ROM, which makes using this ROM for development of real world apps pretty hard. See more on this issue @
imaginativeuniversal.com/blog/post/2010/08/01/WP7-Tip-done28099t-use-the-unlocked-ROM-for-development.aspx
3. If you can ship a dump of the ROM as well as the unlocked eumator - that'll be awesome.
Again, thanks a bunch for doing this. You're definitely contributing to WP7 development efforts.
This ought to do the trick. Add Account and whatnot is still broken though =/

1. I plan on trying to get those back. I don't think it would be too hard. Just need to find the binaries and figure out how to get them into the BIN (I've never added files but it shouldn't be too bad).
2. This one is super tricky. I did some testing on it and once you made ANY sort of material change, it stopped working. It was EXTREMELY annoying. It's almost as if they have some sort of checksum action going on that nukes the certificate checking if you mod the OS.
3. Will do.
It just frustrates me that Microsoft won't release it this way. CLearly if we can unlock it, so can they. They're just making the gap between the "haves" (those with devices) and the "have nots" that much wider.
Tried playing a youtube video just for fun and it asked if i wanted to download the app for it from the marketplace. Said yes but the marketplace doesnt connect.
It really stinks they dont allow you to add accounts.

The problem with registering with any new site is that within 1 week of registering on it (no matter what type of site it is), is that your spam content seems to increase and people then have access to your IP (which leads to trojans, attacks, etc.).
I, like most people, like to keep as much of my information for myself. And, that whole attack thing, it just sucks.
I never got good marks for sharing in grade school.
That being said, I personally am glad that you have shared this with us. At least with the mirrors listed, you know where your file is being distributed. It is not like someone put it on emule and you have no earthly idea where it is.

Please forgive my ignorance but I will like to have some more information about this.
When you say "All rights" are you talking about the:
The IPHONE brand?
The Artwork including icons?
About the legal stuff:
If you are giving this "software" away for free, under which license is your work protected?
Can we have a copy of such license, if any?
Please with your answer provide the country of origin as well as any other pertinent information within the legal framework.
Thank you.

Carramba... just installed this stuff on my spv m3100.
Everything is ok although...

Any ideas? (tried to change today theme 100 times...)

Well, I know I'm rather noob but maybe someone more clever could think it out...
We have many attempts to flash our devices with "white screen effect".
Some of us reports that have bad blocks, but in different areas. Think that mayby this is way with no way out.
Symptom remains the same always. White screen.
Important is that in fact - system works good (eg filesystem, core, etc...). After taping a screen with stylus - we can calibrate it and go on.
Then we have today screen with no background, a telephone pad with no background, media player with no background... In fact it's such annoying that we can't use our system.
We can even use our camera and record a video or take a picture, but we can not see it.
But not always... if we use "full screen" mode - we can see our films... - strange? isn't it?
Maybe system after flash have some "very small" defect concerning missing ability to scaling down bitmaps or something?
Maybe some stupid modification of graphical engine of our phone after flash will result in getting fully healthy system?
Maybe someone wiser will think it out?

I do not expect support unless I pay for it ... hm...
Anyway, did anyone with white screen effect tried to put into "white" phone registry file from "healthy" fresh flashed one?
Mayby we do not need new bootloader...

Fully support xelashiu. The dialpad is a nice job.
Building a dialpad is quite difficult, i fully understand the feeling of xelashiu.
Thanks alot for this dialer I really like it
xelashiu, you are doing an excellent job with these dialpads, and it is completely within your right to restrict others from mirroring your works. However, you must make it clear on your website and/or in your posts what rights are given to people in regard to your works. If it is just a download without any license info, people will usually assume "public domain" which means anyone can do anything with it. I am not saying that people should assume that, nor am I saying that it's a correct assumption. What I am saying is that you should tell people what they can and can't do with your works, otherwise they will assume total freedom.
Please do not let this incident discourage you from making more of your great dialpads.

Fast Tattoo build I've found over at the vogue forums. Everything that works in the latest donut builds works in this build..including working wifi, ect, but no bluetooth.
camera needs work. No force closes, and it starts up faster than any hero ive tried. Haven't tested everything so let me know if you run into something.
This is not my work..special thanks to dzo, vilord, jamezelle, and many more still involved in the android project.

ajclai08, it's importante to say that everyone has to set the screen resolution in 320x480 at first boot, and then change to 240x320 if they want to.
Some apps that won't show in the market if you don't do that step.
PS: Some screenshots would be nice.

Good Work , Only issue it still is taking a long time to load from the drawer to the home screen and it won`t let me add Htc widgets, Is it just a issue that I am having or is just some general issues. It takes about 1-2 minutes to load home screen after going in setup or anywhere else....and have downloade the last conf (that makes a swap file)...
Cannot run
I keep getting "read only file system" and can't install this. Any suggestions?

Loading
I can get mine to load past Haret and the Android Pops up followed by the letters HTC and loud startup sound. I leave it there for 5 mins and then come back to a blank screen, 20 mins later it is still a blank screen.
I am using a Tytn II (Kaiser) Have tried this on a FAT32 formatted single partition SD with both 1GB card and 4GB card.
Any pointers in to where I should look? I was previously using a standard donut build just fine now I have replaced the files using these because I wanted to try out sense ui
Me too! Although I tried it on a Polaris, but since all of the builds for the Kaiser work on my Polaris I don't think this is the problem. Maybe, I didn't download the rootfs on this thread or the conf file. Will try now. EDIT:Yay! It worked! I downloaded the rootfs file and conf file (The one without the swap file conf) and overwrote my existing files. One problem though, no sound.
Does this even work??
Has anyone got this to actually work as described in the first post? I mean I have tried various mixes of files back and forth and now I can get as far as the Screen Calibration and sometimes to the SenseUi but its quiet slow and I get a
FORCE CLOSE com.android.phone has stopped working every few minutes.
Anyone had any better luck and if so what base files did you use as I have used new old whatever it runs into some problem or another.

But agree with you that this appears to be a really crap build..
Plenty of users have gotten this to run, and run well, just check the original thread. If you want the SenseUI/Hero look on our device, this is the best it gets right now. You don't need a mishmash of files, just use what's in the first post. No build is perfect, you guys should have more respect for what the developers are trying to do for you.

No disrespect at all polyrhythmic...in fact when my next paycheck comes I plan on donating I'm very grateful for all the work the devs have done. I've just been so fed up with WinMo that I run android pretty much as my primary OS so stability and functionality is everythign to me. I figured I'd give the tattoo build a shot just to check out the senseUI but couldn't get it working. As it is, it seems that the Kaiser has JUST enough power to run most andoid builds, that builds with "enahnced" UI's to me would prorobly just bog down the speed and functionality of it....no matter how pretty it is....and it is

i didnt know that. i installed from your cab and it never gave me the icon so i figured i had to make my own. this does also install on any device. i got it on my fuze.
I've added this to the wiki.
By the way mine only shows the HaRET icon ... but it is in the start menu. I am using a 6.5 ROM if that helps
edit: icon shows after soft reset
I've added a link on my page to this cab where the .rar package instructions are. Just in case someone doesn't want to use the .cab, but still wants the shortcut. I also made a new icon for my XDAndroid cabs if you would like to use it also I can send it to you.
thats cool. im sure alot of people appreciate that.
i finally installed the newest version of android and haret is in a different place now. if you have something like total commander you can fix the shortcut under its properties. ill upgrade the cab soon for people who want this more stock icon.
Not to rain on the parade (because hard work is always appreciated) but, isnt this the same thing as dualboot from yozgatg? You can use the icon created in start menu on his project to boot straight into android also, with out resetting. Although, I think he's going to be updating dualboot since the path has changed for the install, which you've already noticed Nonetheless, thanks for the contribution.

Sometimes that dual boot app is nothing more than a pain in the ass. Seems more streamlined with just its own icon. I have an icon i install from my .cabs as well. Don't use dual boot anymore.

If I wasn't constantly flashing my phone, id probably stick with the dual boot, but for me eventually it just got monotonous. I may even go back to it once android is more complete, but for now I just went back to the simple things in life.
lol
Also, these guys need to change the registry (unless you know how personally) to look for the "andboot" folder, instead of "android". Nothing major really.

You make a good point. Since I don't use it everyday, I don't ever really need to boot straight into it. I just run it to show off or mess around with it for a little bit. I dont know how to change the registry, but I know the shortcut for this app can be manually changed to look for andboot as mentioned above. i think that's what you were talking about right?
Oh, I think you were talking about dualboot. Yozgatg is actually updating it today so you can set where haret.exe is located to boot from.
Hehe, great minds think alike Here's one I made a while back:
bedoig said:
I was sick of haret uglying up my start menu, so I used reshacker to swap the icon with one of my own making. Figured I'd share in case anybody else is interested.
The exe now contains 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64 icons, so it should look pretty good on most devices. Just extract haret.zip to your storage card, replacing the existing executable.
For WM6.5 users, I created a cab that will also install a 90x90 png along with a start menu shorcut and the appropriate registry entries.

This is great because I flash ROM's just about every day and lose my shortcut.
Thanks!
Update. This has been tested and found to work by people with the phone to test with...
So , as many of you found out, when you get a Galaxy S phone, you get this...

Alas, I have something to test. I'm not about much today, and I don't have a GS II, so it comes untested, and unwarranted. If this causes a large explosion near you, not my problem. Likewise (and somewhat more likely), if this causes it to wake you up constantly, or to not boot, then just push the old file back via ADB, or re-ODIN back to stock.
This should remove the annoying "OMFG OMFG guess what?", that your phone presents to you at approximately 3am each morning. It should then remain quiet, merely content that it is fully charged, without having to alert the universe to that fact.
So, if you wanna try it, fire away. Rename /system/app/SystemUI.apk and /system/app/SystemUI.odex to have the ".old" extension added on the end, and then copy in this new APK to that same folder. Then reboot your phone, and cross your fingers for good luck And if it all boots up OK, then you can try popping it back on the charger and see if the neighbourhood gets woken up now...
If it works, please post. If it doesn't, please post that too I don't usually release things without testing on my own phone first, but o2 seem to want to infuriate you guys with this noise while my order sits around somewhere in a pile.
Tl;dr?
Pop this into /system/app, rename the old ones, so you have backup. Reboot, see what happens and if the alert disappears. If not, use ADB shell to remove the new file and rename the old ones. I would suggest using adb to push the apk like so...
<remount filesystem etc>
adb shell
cd /system/app
mv SystemUI.apk SystemUI.apk.old
mv SystemUI.odex SystemUI.odex.old
exit
<back to the windows prompt now>
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app/SystemUI.apk
<remount it read only, and reboot with fingers crossed>
Reverse the rename, and delete this NEW apk to undo.
The file is at this page so that if it causes trouble, someone else can pull the download while I'm not around
as soon as I renamed systemui.apk to the .old extension I started getting crazy FC popups, had to play with it a while just to rename it back to systemui.apk.. so I wasn't able to get far enough to install the modded version
note this was with root explorer, don't have access to a comp atm

Yeah, you will need to use ADB to push the file in I'm afraid. Forgot to mention that. SystemUI.apk is constantly called.
haha just wanted to post appreciation for the awesome comic strip you put up there LOL
Although to be honest - it doesnt bother me at all both the vibration and the light, so meh.
But I can see how it would get annoying to some and I definitely appreciate the comic, because when it lights up during the day I always think i'm getting a phone call.

Haha not sure where it's from - someone sent me the link at some point.
Not sure why but I've not experienced a full charge notification. Is it because I've got Audible Selection unticked??

Really is!
I would test it, but I'm using the 'CRT Off' SystemUI.apk atm :/
Does anyone know if it works then?
Yes it's a lovely comic strip, whoever made it, but given o2's fail quotient right now is in triple figures, I'm stuck relying on people testing these tweaks. I'm aiming to fix one of the failings of stock software each day though... But pretty hard without a phone to test on
LOL welcome to the SGS world
this issue is a well known issue since the old SGS i9000, this was like the very first [REQ] from people to turn off that infernal alert "i'm fully chaged" in middle of the night

Same position here except I am using one that makes signal icons go green on Google connect.
Tempted to delve into the code myself and get a more universal method of modifying different systemui apks.

Tried this - appears to work - there was no audible notification that it reached 100% charge, no notification dropdown message and no popup either.
Going back to previous UI modified version of SystemUI.apk when I get home, but haven't had any problems with this one.

I was about to say I didn't feel like much more just now due to O2 UK, but I've changed my mind. As of tomorrow evening, I aim to start the "one fix per day" to fix something Samsung broke, regardless of their FAIL quotient...
But there is only one rule... And that's that nobody in this thread mentions O2
I'm going to just forget about the idiots until the phone appears, and focus on fixing the niggles that Samsung did...
Also, to whoever PMd me for the details of this fix - I've not forgotten you, but I don't have the stuff handy for a day or so Sorry. I'll try and get the details to you at some point.

Thank you kind sir, last night was the 1st time it woke me up
I just got my hands on my first WP7 device (an issue-free DVP) and I absolutely love it. Gearing up for Mango, I wanted to have a couple of ringtones ready when it arrives, as there are a few limitations to make custom ringtones work.
So I've cooked up a nice little utility in .NET that uses ffmpeg to trim and/or convert your audio files to nice WP7-compatible ringtones. I expect a few bugs, so if you come across any, please let me know, and I'll fix them ASAP.
(Updated 29th October, 2011) WP7 Ringtoner - Version 1.0.4
What's new in version 1.0.4?
Added volume gain feature, as requested by user ahlMAR
Bugfix for incorrect output folder.
Now available for free download on Softpedia too! Grab it here → http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Editors-Recorders/WP7-Ringtoner.shtml
Features
Portable - Just one executable.
Validates track length before converting - MS mandates a maximum length of 39 seconds.
Calculates bitrate automatically, making sure the filesize is under 1 MB.
Lets you directly download ffmpeg binaries if you don't have them.
Custom volume gain.
Requirements
ffmpeg - Download link provided by WP7 Ringtoner when needed.
(If you'd rather download it yourself, here are links)

Hi!
Absolute Top Job, Bro
I recently bought a WP7 Device for my wife n she hates it cuz she can't set her songs as ringtones. That is just crap with WP7. So i need an App that makes it all easier.
May i suggest some more features for the future if you are still up for developing this?
Features like:
- Fade in /Fade out for the cut-out part
- automatic deployment for nodo devices like that RingRing7 from Arktronic
-Automatic send-to Zune Library with auto-tagging as Ringtone for the Mango devices...
Thanks for your work mate.
Can't make ringtone
tryied your app, but when i want select starting point it automatically selects 00;00;00 worthless program
hey nice man....working fine.
thanks for sharing
cheers

Thanks a lot for your suggestions! Is Fade-in required? Because WP7 automatically fades-in the ringtone when you get a call, right? Automatic deployment - I'll look into it. And send-to library - I am still looking into it and haven't found out how, yet.

The fade in and out is just for the sounds not to begin and end too abrupt. Not sure if that'd be really necessary.
Currently I'm also more interested in a program to pull tracks from the phones library and edit it on the device.
There's a guy here trying to figure out a way to do that.
But I'll keep testing your program.

First off, thanks for the download.
The link to the 64 bit version is incorrect in the first post, but correct in the quoted post above ("ffmpeg-latest-win32-static.7z " should be "ffmpeg-latest-win64-static.7z").
Thought you'd want to know
This tool would benefit having a more accurate "cutting" function. It would be nice to have an overview of the wave structure to be able to cut the "beat/rhytem" at the right point so that it can sound right when it loops on the phone.
will try it,as soon as i get to my computer
Does not Save Ringtone
On my 64 Bit machine, I dont see any ringtone getting saved even thought it says it is doing it.
What should I look for ?
