The WiFi at my college requires you to logon to a website before allowing access to the internet. I cannot get this site to load. My android browser says the page cannot be loaded. Any help on this?
Under settings for default browser (not Dolphin) uncheck block pop-up and try using the default browser.

oh whoops i didnt state my problem.
i do not know where to be able to enter in this information to be able to access the internet.
certificates?
other things?
im not sure.
how do i enter in for certificate?
well, what do you have to do if you were to connect to your school's wifi with a laptop?
At my university, once you connect to the wifi and try to access a page it re-directs you to a page where you must login with your school assigned username and password. Once logged in I can surf just fine. I only use it in lecture halls that have no reception.

Your school's proxy likely authenticates through Active Directory - which isn't, as far as I know, used in Windows Mobile (at least in any practical fashion). In an enterprise wireless environment, even a laptop may have to be plugged in via CAT5 cable first to obtain the proper certificate (something that isn't quite compatible with a mobile phone) - after that, it can authenticate on the wireless network. For this reason, some enterprise wireless networks offer a guest account with limited, more controlled acccess to the school's local network but it may, at the very least, give you access to the internet.
Sorry this isn't of much help, but it at least clarifies why you may not be able to access the internet. I did see this same question come up on the Experts Exchange website but they charge you to see the answer.
okay so i tried to connect to the wireless network on my laptop. it "connects" fine and dandy. What I mean is that the "connected" icon shows up. But the message that prompts me to enter in my username and password pops up after i open my web browser (firefox/chrome etc)
on my friends iphone. same thing. the popup shows up after you open up safari mobile.
is there really no way around this?
Are you using Opera or IE?
Opera in turbo mode will not let you authenticate.

Hy, I think the ip which is shown there is providet via DHCP from the DHCP-Server of your carrier. Your Laptop is in the same IP-Area because you use your phone a modem.

hy, i think changing the app doest solve your problem.
You need to be in the same network with your Laptop.
Is there an Error Page in your browser?
You need to Install a Port-Forwarding, or else you cant acess it from the internet, furthermore you need to know the external ip of your college's
network. For further help pm me or write down the ip's an the used networkmask here.

This is a very strange issue.
Here are the sequence of events:
1. I was able to connect to 3G connection on Note 2.
2. Then I created WI-FI hotspot on Note 2 and used internet on my PC. I connected to my company VPN when I was using this network.
3. Then I closed WI-FI hotspot.
Now, I am only able to access internet on Google apps like Chrome, Gmail etc.
I am not able to access internet on any other application like Firefox, Watsapp, Skype etc.
Please help !
Please tell me if I have to give any additional information.

Solved myself by restoring APN settings.
I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick. I use xfinity wifi hotspot which requires that I sign in on a browser that normally on a Windows or Android device, the browser will automatically open up and take me to a login page.
I sideloaded Firefox to my AFTV Stick but that doesn't seem to load up the page even if I try to connect to the wifi network.
Is there some kind of workaround for this? Thanks!
I would like to know this also as I plan on taking the stick with me when I travel and would be connecting to Hotel wifi
I can't speak to the OP's question but as to hotel access you can usually call the hotels Internet help line with your MAC address from your Fire TV and they can manually log you into the network.
Would also love to know if this is possible. I on a little vacation and took my fire tv with me, ready to watch away, but can't connect to the WiFi, since there is a browser login ...
spoof the firetv's mac on your laptop and go through the portal

Could you enlighten me on how to do that or direct me to somewhere? Thanks!
well i am guessing something like this
http://www.howtogeek.com/192173/how-and-why-to-change-your-mac-address-on-windows-linux-and-mac/
will have to try that and see
I often take my AFTV when on the road and faced this very problem. I've overcome this by connecting to the hotspot (in my case the hotel's wifi network). The AFTV should say something like "Connected with a problem" or something to that effect. Then I back out and go to Applications, and launch a browser, in my case Chrome, and the hotspot router should direct your browser to the login page, where you can enter the needed credentials.
However, of course you would need to have a browser installed. Works most of the time though some hotels have routers that for some reason won't auto-direct you to the login page until you manually type in a website address to go to.

Same - just did this in fact. Had to use my phone as a hotspot to install a browser (lighting) first.
I don't think it would be possible on the firestick unless amazon added some browsers to their store.

Why? You could side load a browser on the stick just the same I assume.
I side loaded Dolphin browser onto my AFS. Seems to work well.
Update : when trying to enter address or url, the search dialog box comes up. It starts to load the Web page but immediately closes the browser. So for me, Dolphin doesn't seem to be working.
What browsers are you all using successfully to browse Web pages?

To the original poster, I know exactly what you're talking about. What I had to do was plug in a mouse so I could click.
Reloaded the page a lot of times and it took forever, but you only have to enter this once.
fix!

You can use the built-in web browser in the ES File explorer to go to the login page. The ES file explorer is free and available on the amazon app store.
I have Chrome side loaded in my AFS. Works well. Able to get to YouTube website and play videos easily.

Hi All,
I have installed DN4 on my Note 2 (N7100). For first 2 days, there wasn't any issue with my WiFi connection, able to connect to WiFi, browse the internet. But suddenly after 2 days it stopped working. Notification bar shows as connected to WiFi, but whenever I try to browse the internet using chrome, stock browser, FB application, page doesn't load at all, showing the message as "This web page is not available". (In FB application, it doesn't show latest post).
I am able to ping to www.google.com using Terminal Emulator while WiFi is on.
Kindly guide me how to fix the issue. (I am able access all the application using 3G/2G data)
Regards,
Jitu

Issue was occurring due to DroidWall as well as WiFi router setting (needed proxy server information). Though DroidWall is set to allow the FB,Chrome,Stock Browser to access WiFi, some how it's not working. After disabling the DroidWall, browsers and FB application working as expected
