I've tried several times to install android on my AT&T tilt with varying success. I have gotten a few mods to run now but they all seem to have the same problems so I think I'm either missing a step somewhere or not setting things up correctly. I can navigate within Android but can't use the phone functions. It shows a signal on the meter but seems to hand on dialing and when I try to hand up stays on the "hanging up" screen and the phone icon stays in the upper left corner of the screen. Also it hangs when I try to import contacts from SIM card when trying to access card.
Installed to SD card
radio version 1.65.21.18
builds - various but latest is VaniljEclair_RLS10b
info from within Android
network - Cingular
signal strength -101dBm 6asu
mobile network type UMTS
service state in service
mobile network state connecting
kernel version 2.6.25-01130-g99a3b07-dirty
mod version cyanogenmod-5.0.8-d5-ve-rls10b
build number epe54b
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I'm using the same build on TyTN II, and I have no issues with it. I have the OS installed to NAND however.
Are you sure that you are using the latest kernel??
I had tried installing that version after others had the phone issue since it included all files in one zip.
I finally removed the battery and after a reboot everything seems to be working now. Guess I should have done that instead of just a reset...

Alright, so I have a Sprint CDMA Touch Pro 2, security unlocked, and flashed with the world unlocked radio. Everything in windows mobile works great on tmobile, however when i boot into android (Froyo X) from SD card i am unable to access anything. I'm assuming android is using the CDMA radio, and I cannot find any options etc to change it to GSM, or enable world phone mode.
So, it this possible? When i search for the network, it will find Cingular and Voicestream Wire. It will only do this once, and if I attempt to search again at any time without rebooting first, the entire system will freeze, and requires a hard reset.
I do have a 3G indicator, and signal bars which change periodically, but I am unable to connect to anything.
I've done several forum searches, as well as looked through all the settings I could find.
Any help with this would be awesome!
You need to check two things in your Startup.txt file. The first is that you should have your model number in the following field instead of the "rhod100_uk."
Code:
physkeyboard=rhod100_uk
The second thing is that you need to set the following line based on whether you use your device on a GSM network or a CDMA one. If you use it with a CDMA network then change the "0" to a "1." If it is used on a GSM network then leave it as a "0."
Code:
force_cdma=0
Depending on how you installed Android, the startup.txt will normally be in either the root of the SD card or in the \andboot folder on the SD card.
Hello,
I have special SIM card issued by my operator which enables mobile ID use (with sPIN authentication) for connecting to bank or e-government. Works like this:
1. The user clicks the "Log in with mobile ID" option on a supported website
2. The phone displays a screen indicating that a connection is being made
3. The user is prompted to enter a mobile ID sPIN code into the phone
4. The screen on the phone disappears and the website is automatically reloaded with a logged in screen
It worked fine with stock firmware, but after I've rooted my HOX I'm not getting sPIN request screen anymore (step 3).
Have tried several custom AOSP or AOKP ROMs without luck, but found some of them partly working.
One I'm using right now is [ROM][4.2.2] Slim Bean - Endeavoru [STABLE][Build 7]. Mobile ID worked for first days after flashing it but later I was only able to use it for a few random times (after restarts). Then it works till next restart...
I was first thinking its an issue of incompatible apps I've installed or system settings I've mixed up, but somehow it works sometimes after restart (with very low success rate though). Also tried to restart into safe mode - it worked for the first time, but no luck for the next ~20 safe mode restarts after that.
I've also found hints it could be stk (SIM Application Toolkit) related problem. I can see SIM toolkit in my app list, though it doesnt' show up on running processes on developer tools.
If you're still reading this and have any ideas, please make some comments, maybe it would help me to get back on the right track, thanks!
Hi!
I've made a post in the Asus forum, with no luck and I found this page where you seem more technical :
Two days ago I downloaded the Android MM 6.0 update from the Asus Homepage downloading the version WW-4.21.40.144 , since I live in Brazil and the phone was bought here. I followed all the steps one by one till it got updated.
The problem is, since then my GPS is not working (Waze, Googlemaps ans several apps).
I tryed:
1. Giving all permissions of location to the apps
2. Puting the settings in High Accuracy
3. Restarting the phone several times.
4. Switch on and off Airplane mode and 2G 3G ands 4G (I read sometimes its interference from that)
5. Waiting almost an hour with the phone outside (sunny day) to see if it detects the satellites.
6. Every app inthe appstore that promise GPS Fixing (reseting, A-GPS and all kind of tests. Funny thing, the sensor IS working acording to those apps.
7. Factory Reset
8. Factory Reset and Erase Cache from the bootmenu. (as indicated in the Asus Forum)
9. Downgraded to Lolipop again. WW-52.20.40.196
10. Again every app to reset the GPS.
Nothing worked.
To my surprise, now I have Lolipop and no GPS. So back to basics but, worst.
The Asus forum told me to Update to the latest version, which I did:
1. Updated my phone with the latest MM version. 4.21.40.223.
2. Put the location options in "High Accuracy" and permissions needed for the apps.
3. As the old software was installed after that, I tried Waze. No GPS Signal was found.
4. Did a factory reset.
5. Put the location options in "High Accuracy" and permissions needed for the apps
6. Installed the apps GPS Toolbox and Waze again, the both can't find a GPS signal. I left the phone outside for 10 minutes.
7. Tried to install the version UL-Z00A-WW-2.20.40.198-user by bootloader, but it says it cannot update to an older version, which sounds about right. (I had to try)
What else can I do? I don't mind going back to Lolipop, but when I did GPS didn't work.
Is there any chance the new Update wrote something apart from software in the chipset that cannot be undone?
Help please, I really need the GPS!
Phone not rooted.
Thanks!
Juan
After long hours of searching, reading and trying I got it fix. How?
0. Have a full charged battery or have your phone plugged to the wall (except for the USB stuff on step number 2, obviously)
0.1. Make backups of all the info in the phone, because everything is going to be erased.
1. Download the version WW-52.20.40.196 from Asus website.(unless you need the other like CN, JK, etc, see Asus site to be sure)
2. Copy it to the internal storage of your phone in the root of it (not in any folder), via USB.
3. Get to the boot loader (Turn off phone and once is off, push the power button with the Up volume one until it vibrates 2 times. Release only the power button until the menu appears) - Search the forum for more details.
4. Select "Recovery Boot" with the volume buttons and press the power button to confirm.
The next steps are all in the Recovery Menu (once it finishes every step it goes back to the original menu, no alerts, sounds or nothing. So check every now and then)
5. Make a Wipe/factory reset, and wait, it takes some time. (use the volume buttons and press the power button to confirm)
6. Make a Wipe of the cache. (use the volume buttons and press the power button to confirm)
7. Install update from Internal storage selecting the name of file you copied on step number 2 (use the volume buttons and press the power button to confirm). It will take a while.
8. Reboot the system (use the volume buttons and press the power button to confirm)
It will restart with the phone in the Lolipop version and the GPS working fine. Even after the Lolipop updates.
Marshmallow update has a bug, that at least with my phone the GPS doesn't work. Tried reinstalling marshmallow latest version after the GPS got fix, just to prove the point, and in fact, it stopped working again.
Then I did all the steps above again and went back to normal again.
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO UPDATE TO MARSHMALLOW WITH THE ACTUAL FIRMWARE VERSIONS AVAILABLE.
I also had this problem with Marshmallow ROM, as the GPS is not working in terms of unable to locate any signal from satellites.
However, I also solved the problem with a method sounds very silly.
I turn on my GPS overnight using an application called GPS Status.
The night I turn it on, it was locating 0 satellite (it will write 0/0 SAT). However in the morning, I found that the GPS is now working, locking on 8 out of 24 discovered satellite (it wrote 8/24 SAT).
Now my GPS is working seamlessly.
Thanks! I will try it next weekend. I need my phone this week. Hahaha
I ll post when I do so.
Do you know other similar cases of people who did that and worked?
The thing is, now I have Lollipop again an I noticed how slow the system is running with applications. I d love to have the update, but not sacrificing the GPS
I decided I won't make the test because it doesn't justify the risk and time.
I'll wait for a newer update or just stay with Lollipop.
Just to let you guys know in case someone was waiting for this
I downloaded GPS Status as suggested by SleepingAran and ran it once. Now my Waze is working seamlessly. Thanks!
There's another simple solution that works:
Follow exact steps:
1. Turn on location and set high accuracy mode
2. Open google maps
3. Move your phone several times in the shape of 8 (8-10 times should be enough)
4. Close google maps and clear it from recents screen
5. Start google maps again. Profit

Hello, I have a rather strange problem with my phone.
After the Update which has just been released (MIUI Global 10.3.1.0 (ODEMIXM)
he began to behave in a strange way my mobile internet.
For example: Youtube, Facebook, Messenger, Google Maps work normally.
And all other applications no longer (even an application to Check system update)
I'm popping up a message: No connection.
I did different things: Reset Internet settings,
change network settings in options (* # * # 4636 # * # *)
and even a hard reset.
if you have questions Yes on Wi-Fi works normally.
Greetings!
Try factory reset first.
mine has similar problems after a call. Some Internet stuff still works, most don't, unless I disable and re-enable mobile internet from the dropdown menu. Did you find a solution, MrKaim?
Same problem in my phone too. The only app which is remain usable of the internet is the Chrome browser. Messeaging apps, navigation, ebay, etc... is always lost somehow the connection: even when I using the app: for example I browsing in the ebay app and after 10mins,its says sonetging got wrong and I can go on only when I turn wifi/adata off and on. And yes, ön my mi mix 2, the problem is still exist on wifi and mobil net too.
Mi Mix 2 Havoc OS 3.7 Mobile Internet
I am facing a similar issue.
Has anyone found a solution for this ?
I'm running a ROM : Havoc OS 3.7 Android 10
Also tried ROM : AICP and Lineage.. Same Issue!
I keep shuffling LTE / 3G it connects sometime but the connection is unstable.
Permanently displays an X in the mobile signal as if there is no mobile data connection.
Please share a solution if anyone has found one.
I realize only some data isn't working but you could save your apns-conf.xml from another setup where you have no data issues and everything works perfect (I always keep one handy) and delete your current apns-conf.xml in /system/etc and system/product/etc and paste the good one in your /system/etc and set permissions on new apns-conf.xml to 0644 using root explorer or whatever root file manager you use then go to settings on your device/networks and internet/mobile network/access point names/ and top right hit the three dot menu select reset to default and wait till you see LTE show in status bar and reboot. If it's an apn issue that will solve it.
My Mix 2 isn't hooked up anymore to a service but I do use it on wifi at home but the apns-conf.xml on stock rom/miui may be slightly different than they are on an AOSP custom rom. I know that's been the case for me on every device I've done this on so be sure if you do give this a shot that you use your miui apns-conf.xml on miui roms and AOSP apn xml on AOSP custom roms so that it will work.
I've been using this process when I have had any data issues at all on my last 3 devices and it's worked 100% every single time when after installing a custom rom I've had no data this works to get LTE going. Credit to spaceminer for this info on the apn delete and swap, data fix as he's who I first learned this from on another forum.
I just bought this phone and installed LineageOS 17.1.
Dual SIM / 64GB / 4GB version
I pretty much followed these instructions: https://asineth.ml/post/android-rav/
One issue I ran into was that the "OEM unlock" option in the UI was disabled (greyed out) because you need to be online for that. After connecting to Wifi i was able to continue.
Another issue: I couldnt execute `fastboot reboot fastboot` because my adb/fastboot binaries were to old. I followed https://wiki.lineageos.org/adb_fastboot_guide.html to get the latest versions.
I do experience some small bugs that I also had with 17.1. on my previous phone (Moto G7 Plus)
- cellular data stops working for some reason, turning mobile data off and on again fixes the problem until it occurs again.
- sometimes i cannot click "Read" on text notifications in the notification area.
- the signal cellular bar appears with a little x in the bottom right corner and I dont know what the x is supposed to indicate.
feel free to ask for help if you have the same phone and get stuck in the process.
cheers
sadly more bugs
- if I turn off wifi hotspot the phone freezes and reboots
- sometimes the phone swallows text messages that are sent to me
