Hi all,
Im using Froyo on my Kaiser, ive tried using the different panels.
I have been using Myns Warm Donut with panel 3 and it was ok, but not using Froyo its playing up.
Using Froyo, when I slide my keyboard out it rotates right 90 degrees correctly, but when i slide it back in, it rotates it 180 degrees?
Help? lol
Thanks,

Yes that worked thanks very much.
Thanks akmalxxx for the tip
Sometimes someone asks a question like this, I often wonder if it would not just be simpler to unset that option in build, rather than relying on the user to know how to do this in advance, ( don't even know if it's possible ?).
Yes a lot of us 'old hands' do this almost automatically after installing a build, along with other settings we have come to prefer.
But the screen orientation one really catches a lot of newer users out.

Not exactly sure what you mean by this, but the question has been asked lots of times (just do a search on keyboard backlight) as many people complain about it. No great solution so far though unless you install a custom ROM (I know CM6 allows you to customize all of the backlight levels) or cover up your light sensor to keep it lit...
Alternatively, I think there they might be some apps on the market like Power Manager that keep the backlight on, but I have tried any since I use CM6...
ok thanks, i'm running virtuous but idk if its possible to customize it, ill check it out and search the market otherwise thx!
It would only turn off if there's lots of light. There's no timer.

not talking about a timer, just the sensitivity of the sensor regarding the lighting on keys.... it just goes of to quick imo....
Hi guys. Well here's the deal. I used to have the very app for this, but deleted it while ago so need to find it again. Basically, I want the screen orienation to change when I tilt the phone, but only to normal landscape. I do NOT want the phone to going into the upside down landscape because I NEVER use it that way and it sometimes switches to that side which delays me and such so it gets annoying. How can I prevent the phone from switching to the other side of landscape, but it be able to go into landscape? I tried Tasker, but that didn't work too well.
thanks for the help guys!
P.S. I am rooted and have CM7
its either in cm settings or spare parts.
I couldn't find it :/

That's not what he's talking about. He's talking about the opposite of land so 260?
LOL, basically when I enable auto-rotate, I only want the screen to switch to portrait and landscape. I don't want it to switch upside-down, or to the other side of landscape.
When you enable auto-rotate, the screen can rotate in 3 diff positions. I only want it to be able to switch into 2.

This is great, I also did not like the 3rd rotation like the OP, but it never bothered me enough to complain about it.
The app suggested works GREAT. Thank you for this little quiet gem!

no its not on all versions of android at all. if you tilt your phone to the right it goes into landscape. mine did not do that on my g1 but does on my desire z. only if you tilt the phone to the left would it go landscape.
Is it possible that someone could come up with a flashable mod that will disable the 180 degree rotate, and go back to eclair's 90 degree rotate?
I googled this, and found the following:
1. you can install an apk (http://forum.androidcentral.com/att...egree-screen-rotation-com.norightrotate_3.apk) - but then you get some battery drain because it's a service that runs continuously.
2. another suggestion was to edit the build.prop and find "270rotation=true" and change true to false. Later found out that that line was only in eclair - not in froyo.
So a challenge to all android programmers! Can you make a flashable mod that will disable the 180 degree screen rotation?

No need for a APK go to Settings>Display> uncheck auto rotation. This sets to 180 and with keyboard out. If you are playing videos or games it will auto rotate with out moving the keyboard out.

Yeah - already knew that. What I'm looking for is bringing it back to Eclair's native setting. 90 rotate on demand - not keyboard dependant.

Sorry about that I didn't spend a whole lot of time on Eclair. I had the phone like 3 days when Foroy came out.

I have 2.3.4 and sense 2.1. Everything works fine except the lock screen is very unresponsive. I literally have to punch the screen with my finger a few times before it wakes up. I was wondering if the newer versions of sense fix the lock screen?
I have the same problem from time to time. Restarting my phone normally sorts it out.
I wish that was my answer but Its not. At least not for me.
Others have found this post useful and it seems it is similar to your issue. ;-)
I've tried that several times. Infact it helped me calibrate my touch screen after I broke the original. I've honestly had the same issue even with the original screen.

If you aren't adamant about Sense, you could try flashing a Sense-less ROM. In my experience, it improves much on performance.
When i bought my WildfireS i had the same problem , stock came with 2.3.3 . But when i updated to the official 2.3.5 problem solved. U Can try different rom also .

sorry for taking so long to get back to you guys.
I've got a VM Wildfire S thats CDMA and well.....None of the other roms seem to work. I;ve tried Wildchild but its not picking up my service. Simonsense3.5 seems to be okay but things like music crash every now and again. I do still have the unresponsive screen issue but its not as bad with simonsense. I do seem to have a deadzone on my screen for the I key. Specificly the I key. if I switch into that horrible swipe the screen does not track any inputs exactly on or bordering that specific letter. Anyway I can fix that?
Also what else should I be doing now that i've been able to get this phone in a better rom?
Set the minimum overclock limit in No frills to something lieke 245 Mhz or above until it solves.
It worked for me when I used sense roms.
Hope it helped..

And which tweak are we talking about here? My lockscreen gets quite unresponsive as well. Tried reverting to the slide lockscreen off earlier versions but didn't help either. Tried the solution mentioned on the other thread (Post#4) and neither did that. I have a hunch it has something to do with the sensor, atleast on mine. I've noticed it acts crazy especially under low-light areas, or say if it had been in my pocket for ages. Ah well, hoping to find a solution soon.

Did you try turning off Settings -> Sound -> Quiet ring on pickup & Pocket mode & Flip for speaker?
As cpie20 also stated you can try doing the following to your build.prop to help speed things up.
CHANGE:
Code:
view.touch_slop = 2
ADD:
Code:
# Force Launcher into Memory
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ = 1
# Enable Graphic Processor Unit
debug.sf.hw = 1
# Improve Overall Touch Responsiveness
debug.performance.tuning = 1
video.accelerate.hw = 1
# Improve Scrolling Responsiveness
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec = 150
Thanks for that. I did switch off the Sound settings as you mentioned earlier. Apart from that, I noticed that most of the tweaks were already present on the build.prop I'm currently running on. Just changed the following:
Code:
view.touch_slop = 2 [COLOR="Red"](Was 15)[/COLOR]
# Force Launcher into Memory
ro.HOME_APP_ADJ = 1 [COLOR="red"](Wasn't there)[/COLOR]
# Improve Scrolling Responsiveness
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec = 150 [COLOR="red"](Was set on 120)[/COLOR]
So yeah, will see how that helps and report back later.
EDIT: Seems to work great upto now. The build.prop tweaks seem to have finally fixed it. Will report back if I head into any issues but seem quite unlikely.
help
Sorry but I didn't know where to add the other code
so I have to add them at the end ... or after the code:
view.touch_slop = 2
& with thanks and respect
Been a while since I tinkered and so with some trepidation I thought I'd try the switching between different launchers using Tasker.
After some swearing I managed to get it working using the guide HERE
Got Niagra on the front and Nova on the large screen!
Thanks, man! How well does it work for you?

Thanks for the tip. I got it going too. Now I remember why I hated it. I had some fun with it for a bit though. Definitely not efficient but without hex or root. It was a nostalgic trip back to 2010
Can't seem to get it to work. Just a question, once i set it up i get [ No active profiles (3 of 3 enable) ] on the notification panel for the tasker. Is it supposed to be like this or the profile should be active for it to work?

Sorry, I didn't get it. Can you please elaborate.
state > sensors > any sensor > hinge angle
That's awesome. I bought Tasker like a year ago. Everytime I download it I open it, get frustrated, then uninstall it, lol.
I think I love niagra though. It's so minimal on that big screen i think it would be better to just create a one page widget than run two launchers. That side animation was on one preset years ago. I sent my phone to safe mode play with stuff using adb today still have no idea what I did that prompted it.
@jemfalor Sorry I am a noob to the tasker. Where do I select hinge angel in the any sense?
under type, press magnifying glass
@jemfalor thanks for the help mate but it is not working for me. I will pass into it until someone post a detailed video as I have done everything right which Is mentioned in the guide but still no luck.
it is working. just learn to figure things out. change interval type to sample,
Works, but it's glitchy. Sometimes the stock home screen returns until I press the home key. When the device is unfolded and the main screen is visible, pressing the home button causes Nova Launcher to reload, which is pretty annoying. Worst of all, after configuring this, the keyboard keeps reverting back to the Samsung keyboard instead of Gboard, and sometimes the keyboard refuses to pop up at all. Time to undo this damage.

Pretty instantaneous I find, and if the wrong launcher shows, (although this is rare) a swipe up reverts the screen to the correct one.
The Bixby Routines version works well for me.
Now.... If there was only a way to have two instances of Nova Launcher running on the device at the same time, I could have version one layout on the cover screen and version two layout on the inner screen.
Anyone any ideas?

Maybe you can help sorry for bothering you. Everything seems to be setup except when folded or unfolded I have to hit the home button manually for the launcher to change. Do you happen to know how I can fix this?.
