DJ Droid Rom Overclock to 1.27Ghz possible? - Desire General

Hello Guys,
I'm using DJ Droid Rom on Desire, Question is, DJ Droid Rom Overclock to 1.27Ghz possible?
if yes, then how?
Secondly, I understand that once we OC the snapdragon to 1.27Ghz its basically OC it's GPU as well, and then the 3D Power of Desire also goes up by good bites, right? Can it ever match 3D Gaming and Interface smoothness as on stronger devices with this OC activated?
For example this game runs sooooo smooth on MileStone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQ7qbqSnLU0&feature=related
and Soooo bad/laggy on Desire... :/ will it get fixed soon with better snapdragon GPU support by game developers?
Third, I understand that HTC Sense isn't yet supported by GPU, Any patch to enable it? would it work smoother then?
Thanks!

Which game specifically?
Raging Thunder is the only one I know out of a quick skim of the video? How is it for you? If it's not really smooth, try a different ROM - because it's perfect for me.

[Q] Overclocking over 1190mHz??

Hello everyone. I have wondered if there is a way to overclock HTC Desire over 1190 mHz. and how far keeping it stable?
1305MHz
i found a kernel that should work on all sense/sense hd roms, its by Capychimp or someone who made it OC to 1305MHz. Try it out
Does it work with non-sense roms?
im not sure. i strongly advise not overclocking pass 1900MHz because the phone will heat up when playing minor games like doodle jump and such

i think that 1305 is false walue. it was discused before
I also think it's false value... I tried and took quadrant benchmark and it gave me about 1000 points.
id say no theres no a way to overclock higher then that and you wouldnt want to if you could. stick with stable lvls. i know u wanna get the most out of your device but desire just isnt on par with phones like desire hd, nexus s, or galaxy s. stick with 1190 and if its not fast enough, buy a better phone. but most phones arent super powered quite yet. except the motorola atrix. but after testing the motorola xoom, ill never purchase a moto device again. go htc or google official phones

[Q] best gaming ROM for Desire HD?

What is the best gaming ROM for my DHD? Dungeon Hunter 2 is struttering even when I overclock at 1.8 GHz ://
personally i best like ARHD because of the speed and the ext 4 support i got special kernel by Apache (dont know how its spelled ) wich can be overclocked up to 1.2 Ghz then you can always consider to get an other one but the stock one is quiet awesome btw a bit overclock is not as good as an better made ROM
hope it helped you out a bit be free to ask again
just use a relatively cleened up rom without much extras... also use leedroid kernel.... its lightening fast and you can OC up to 1.8 ghz...
Besides that most roms are capable to run games smooth... I don't see a special need to get a "gaming rom"
what is the best rom for backstab HD??

[Q] What's the best rom for performance on games?

I gave my Evo 4G to a friend and i've flashed a couple different sense roms for him to try out. Would going to a rom like a CM7(.1) give him a noticeable performance increase for games like GTA III or other 3D rendered games, and possibly better HDMI Mirroring performance?
I thought GTAIII would run like a champ on the EVO4G, but its not. Phones currently running the Swagged out Stock. But it is pretty choppy, so is counter strike.
Normally I would just flash the roms myself and see, but since it's not my phone I dont have that type of access to it.
Any input is appreciated.
Salvage mod (rom) g0dm0de kernel and chainfire3d is the best combo for graphics intensive games if its not going to be used as a phone stripping the messaging app and other items such as calculator and stuff like that will increase the available ram to improve performance
Edit: overclocking to 1.19ghz will help as well, the problem with games like gta3 is the available ram when the phone is booted is only around 200 MB or so on an AOSP ROM and less than 200 MB on a sense rom and that's really not enough ram to render the graphics with the gpu in the evo
Great suggestions. Bummer to hear that GTA III probably doesn't have a good chance of running smooth on the Evo. Definitely was going to over clock. I know that helped me on the PSX emulator.
Im going to look into salvage mod. Sense roms seem to be less reliable. and I believe HDMI mirroring would work smoother too.
Thanks for the feedback, really great to hear someone speaking from experience.
Salvage mod is one of the lightest ROMs around its not real fancy but removing alot of nonessential apps from it will free up more ram making the game smoother chainfire3d will accelerate the graphics as well helping to improve performance

[Q] Problems with laggy games on HOX

hi..
I make this thread because I get sick of my HOX..
As you know, it's Tegra 3 GPU in this phone and I expected much more.
First, many games are laggy, who even built for this phone / Tegra 3
Mine is rooted and uses the IceColdJelly with NCX kernel.
A game that I like very much is SG: Dead Zone that is build for Tegra GPU. But why the hell does it lagg? It should be the other way around.
Is anyone having problems with this game?
It does not matter what I use for graphics settings, Low,medium, high or ultra high
The game works much better on my Galaxy Nexus, but would far rather use my HOX!
Is there anyone who can give me a tip on what kernel / rom / sense rom that is good for gaming?
It would be wonderful and grateful
Hi.. im looking at a kernel from NCX what called NCX gaming kernel at NCX
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33805830&postcount=10399
or EternityProject Kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33672330&postcount=10158
Does this need a sense rom? or does it work with CM10 / AOKP rom? If it need a sense rom ? Which rom? i dont understand how to install it ? is there any one who has done this before and maybe give me a little guide how to install ?
It would be sweet. Thx, maybe this is a solution for laggy games?
Turning back from JB to ICS was the best thing i ever done.. running viper with NCX gaming kernel and Gaming booster and it really runs great. But dont know anything battery life yett..
Case close.

[Q] JB game performance question

I've used to run Jelly Bean on Desire until I installed Nikez's ICS 4.0.4 to check how games run there, and they ran much much faster, no lag at all. Still, JB is smoother in every other aspect besides gaming.
But ofcourse, no ROM has same speed and I was wondering are there any good/known tweaks to improve performance in games for JB 4.2.2?
Nikez's JB is faster than other JBs I tried but I still need little performance boost to make them run fast like on 4.0.4....
This is an interesting discussion.
I was on froyo before and jumped to JB 4.2.2 directly.
I can't compare some games because the newest ones work only on 4.x and did not work on 2.2... but the games working in froyo are working smooth on JB.
I'm using CyanoMod007 v21.
I think I could try the Nikez ICS you mentioned.
I am using it. It is faster than other Jb roms but not as ics.
JB is a resource hog compared to ICS and you can't get the same GPU perf on JB. It's a fact and you can't really change it unless we somehow become able to change the GPU clock on Adreno 200. I had the same experience on my Defy; CM9 is much faster for gaming than CM10.
Don't be disappointed, Adreno 200 is crap anyways and Qualcomm made a wrong decision in using the AMD Z430 in their debut GPU

I agree with you. But still, CM9 has laggy animations and feels slower then CM10. Gaming is it's only advantage IMO...
I used to play this mobile version of BFBC2 on my Defy all day and although it wasn't the best game I could easily get playable FPS on any CM9 or CM9-based MIUI ROM. The move to CM10 made my frame rates drop to the boundaries of unplayability. I can't even play it on my Desire, QSD8250 is so bad.
I think the system is just so focused on hitting 60 fps on JB ROMs because of Project Butter, that the GPU really has to push hard so there aren't resources left for gaming especially on a device with 512MB LPDDR1.
It's really a tradeoff; either you can have smoother animations on other apps because of Project Butter in CM10, or you can have better gaming performance with CM9.
The system isn't trying to hit 60fps since the desire doesn't have project butter
Benchmarks
Here are some benchmarks of Quadrand Standard on 2 rooms that i tryed on both roms
Cpu: 1113 Mhz on both roms
