I just installed the EVO 6.5 ROM, and every time I hit the center button it launches the celetask application. This needs to be fixed in my phone for it to be usable. Any ideas how to fix it? I believe the eT9 file is in the ROM files when installed. The D-pad works; up, dn, left, and right, but when you press it it launches the celetask program? Very annoying!
I posted this thread in the EVO thread posts, not sure how to delete it out of there, because I don't think it has anything to do with the ROM, it’s just a key mapping issue, or a registry problem?
Any help would be great,
Thanks,
Captain

Nope hard reset didn't fix it. Center D-pad button is still launching celetask.

Flash stock rom "to clean nand" check if anything adverse on stock, if not flash custom again and hard-reset after.

OK I think I just did a stupid thing!
I thought that a Radio only upgrade didn't require a Hard Reset (i.e. to Factory defaults and losing all your local data / program installs).
So I went from 1.09 to 1.11, hit the 'reset' button on completion and the stupid thing did a hard reset!
So where did I go wrong - well I think it is because I did the radio upgrade as a standard upgrade just by running the normal update files with only the new radio ROM file present and no other ROM files.
What I didn't do was to enter the BootLoader manually first I left it all up to the RUU files to do the job
Is it this (not manually entering the bootloader first - like the Wiki tells you to - mind you it also tells you to hard reset) which caused the hard reset which was beyond my control :?:
I'm sure I've changed the Radio ROM only on my old BA without all this hassle - just can't remember what I did differently.
From what I remember, you are supposed to press the reset pin hole while pushing down on the ON/OFF button. This would cause it to soft reset according to the on-screen instructions, and it did on mine when I tried it. But of course, I also performed a backup to be on the safe side.
Really not my day today - Whilst reinstalling and going through reset cycles my Exec turned into a brick
Stuck at boot-screen with ROM versions showing
Hopefully the Wiki resolution to this one is going to work..
Ever wish you'd just left the thing alone
Whenever I've done a radio upgrade, I've simply pressed the reset button with the tip of the stylus - that's it.
I've done about 6 up/downgrades, I would guess, and not had any problems. I hope you get yours sorted out.
Cheers,
Steve.

At least I'm not going mad then - That's exactly what I did before this all went pear-shaped.
Did you upgrade whilst in the bootloader or just from WM5 running normally?

WM5 running normally - to be fair, it sometimes took a few attempts for the upgrade to "take", but once it was going, I've had no problems - glad to hear you manage to de-brick it.
Cheers,
Steve.

The problem is that...
when i click START - SYSTEM - SCREEN - ALIGN SCREEN...
it freezes when it shows the first 'star' where you have to align. (the star at the centre of the screen when you press align screen)
Is there a fix or patch on this?
It's happening on most ROMs i put on my SPV M3100...
apart from the official rom (which is boring compared to other cooked roms).
Thanks

No... :S ive not got ftouchflo installed.
Can you please give more details about your device? Bootloader, ROM name (the one you are using now)... It will help troubleshoot your problem.
i assume it works when you first have to allign it, after a flash...
am i right?
if yes then it probably has to do smth. with the programs in your extended rom that get installed on the first boot

Yes I think you are right because with I can a align the screen infinite times with the original WM6 Hermes ROM... but with any other ROM e.g. Shwaps or TNT or Black ROM I can only align it once... just after putting the ROM on. But i know for sure its not FTouchFlo as I do not have that installed.

Later Schap's ROMs (4.20 and 4.22) and some other cooked ROMs contain FTouchFlo, FTouchFlo is also contained in various Touch Cubes installations for Hermes - even commercial Touch Commander contains it. Be sure not to have any of these installed. That might be the culprit. The behavior you describe seems to be FTouchFlo - after you click the first star, the screen does not react, but the buttons work, functionality of screen returns after a soft reset. It can also be a different problem, but we need to single FTouchFlo out completely before digging deeper.

yes I am 100% sure anything with touchflo is not installed
e.g. the cube.. touch flo... etc
And yes it is exactly how u desribed about ... if you soft reset if just returns to the today screen. its just my SPV m3100 keeps on moving out of alignment... i tried to follow the instructions on some forums to get the screen alignment to stop but i dont seem to get them...
but anyway... thanks
use file explorer to go to \Windows\Startup. Rename this to \Windows\Startup-off and create a new folder Startup (now empty)
Restart.
Use align screen without problems, reverse what you did with the Startup programs.
I will bet you this works for you. One of those programs that start automatically (But do not show up in the task manager) stops your align screen from work.
disable touchflow
I've had the same problems with the screen allignment.
After disabling touch flow the problem was gone
I bought a S620 on Ebay and it arrived yesterday with some info still on it and I want to reset the phone.
I have read the online user guide and it says to go into 'Expert' and there should be a 'Clear Storage' icon, that icon is missing. Is there a hidden security measure that will bring that icon back.
Is there any other way to clear all the storage, I am very new to this phone so its all a bit new to me and I hope someone can help.
Thanks for your time in advance

It does not seem to have an accessories icon either so that form of hard reset is not possible either, I think it was set up to a certain corporate program and I can't seem to get it back to normal

Ok, so I am a Newb, but I am a start guy... 153 IQ, was always top of my class - however I have no F**ng clue what the guys in the development and hacking section are talking about.
Basically, I have a TP2 for Tmobile that I would like to do something with... ANYTHING~! Preferable install a cooked WM6.5 rom, or a 6.1 rom with Manilla 2.5 for the time being. An android or Sense UI port would be nice as well.
Can someone please either help me get started by pointing my in the correct direction of a helpful sticky, because frankly its tough searching through threads like this:

Any help would be appreciated by me, and other not so technically inclined individuals.

i had the windows mobile device center running and it said my phone was connected. plug in the usb and put active sync on the device and the wmd will show your phone is connected. i was confused also since it said active sync failed.
as for the hardspl
*Go into BootLoader Mode (do a Soft Reset while holding the "volume down" key on the left side of the device. Keep holding the "volume down" key until you see tricolour screen which is the bootloader mode, then release it) and verify the screen shows 0.85.OliNex, which is the HardSPL version*

(if you have tmobile it's the lil circular slot on the right) just power off your device when you turn it on just hold the volume down
I did that and its already showing SPL - ).85.01 olinex
I didnt think the process worked as it said it takes 10 min, and it took about 6 seconds.
Is this all i needed to do and can i start the rom flash now?

it says 10 mins but it doesn't take that long. now you can flash away. i've flashed my phone like 3 times and ended with the touch it rom. i never tried tom codon rom. if you do try and landscape works let me know!
also you only need to hardspl once. so if you get tired of the rom just plug it in. run the customruu.exe and flash the new rom but ofcourse follow the instructions on the site lol
Upon every reboot I get the following error message:
Your device is unable to boot because either you have turned off the device incorrectly or tried to install an application from untrusted source... ... ...
It goes on to say press the UP VOL button to hard reset or any other button to continue.
I press any other button and it proceeds to boot correctly.
Any way to disable the message?
VZW TP2 - Stock 6.5 ROM
EDIT / UPDATE: If don't touch anything when it is on this screen it will eventually continue to boot normally... so again I would just like to disable this message if at all possible.
Anybody???
Or maybe an idea of where to look for log files so I can tell what specifically is causing it?
I've had the same message at least twice now. Almost had a heart attack the first time. Mine also rebooted fine after a minute or so. Not sure what caused this.
For me this happens everytime I reboot.
I did a hard reset and after installing and configuring everything, it is happening again.
It isn't affecting anything, just annoying.
Anybody?
Having this screen come up after every reboot is really annoying.
Surely somebody has had this happen before..
after you hard reset did you reinstall all your applications again... is that what you mean by configured it? If so it's likely one of your programs that's causing it. If you didn't install anything and it still pooched out like that then, well I'm stumped!
It started happening after I installed everything, but everything works on it.
There has to be some type of log file somewhere that will tell me what is causing it
You may just want to go and take the time to install a program and then see if it happens... when you get to the one that you know causes it.. uninstall it and see if the issue is still there. If not then carry on with installing all your other aps you have left doing the same thing to see if any of them cause the issue. It may take some time to do but it cant take along longer then waiting around for someone to chime in on some advice for you. Gotta do what you gotta do right?
