Bluetooth, OSX and browsing... - Desire General

Ok - Ive managed to pair the phone with the mac, so I can transfer files.
What I can't do though is browse the phone using the mac, as it says the phone doesn't have the required services.
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
My phone's a T Mob Desire, no rom tweaks or anything like that, and on the mac I have OSX Leopard.
So, what do you think people?

Same problem here. Can't think what the issue is. Anyone any ideas?

connect to internet via usb

Moving from windows mobile base to android, anyway knows that with help of activesync it is possible to use PC internet connection from device.
From what I've searched it is not possible in android, just the opposite is possible, meaning use device internet from PC.
I just ran into this

I was wondering if any kernel is built with this?
Thanks
Hi,
I was wondering if you found any solution for this. It is indeed abit annoying not to have this feature built in in Android.
Thanks, Babak

Bluetooth to Windows 7 x64

Alright, so I'm trying to get my EVO to connect to Windows 7 64-bit in order to try out the Bluetooth tethering (via android-wifi-tether) and FTP server. I can connect the phone via bluetooth to my laptop, but as soon as I do, it just disconnects. I can't get them to reconnect (either from Windows or EVO). Windows shows no services, hardware, or anything.
Do I need a special driver or app for Windows? Some hidden setting in the EVO? A known bug?
And please refrain from super-obvious things, I've updated the driver for my bluetooth adapter, I've Googled around, and tested this on a Windows XP netbook, it paired and could transfer a file using OBEX just fine.
I am having this same problem. Have you been able to find any solution to this?

I'm having the same issue. I've been scouting forums, have paired and unpaired my EVO and Win7 Home Premium x64 Laptop over and over again, I've paired it from my phone and paired it from the laptop, and no difference.
I'm able to push files from my laptop to my phone but the reverse doesn't work at all. I get several errors which I believe are associated to the fact that my phone's bluetooth icon on the laptop shows no services or bt profiles in the properties box.
Did either of you figure this out?

SOLVED.
I went to my Laptop's manufacturer's website (lenovo) and downloaded the latest BT driver - an update from 2 months ago, although my last update was only 6 months ago.
It loaded all of the services I needed and once I paired my EVO to the computer about 7 different BT services were installed and connected to my EVO.

probems with the internal memory

hi there..
after browsing 5 sites here to look if there is allready a post whit this problem, i open my own one..
so the problem:
the internal memory on my samsung is very very unstable.. im not able to copy anything to the device.. all the time i get a error, the device stop working, and the copy job could not complete.. i notice that very very soon after i get the device, the memory is very slow, and really unstable. im trying to copy some pictures on the device, but whitout success.
i try it in mtp and ptp mode, but get the same problem..
is this a know problem, is there any solution for this? somebody here with same issue??
many thanks!
What OS is on the machine you're copying from?
Both mtp and ptp are problematic in linux, many have reported problems with XP, with Vista HP 64 bit I can copy to but not from my GN whereas with win 7 64 bit I have no problems. I have no experience with iOS.
It's more likely to be a problem with the protocol than actually with your GN's memory; more people seem to be successful with a wireless transfer, try an app such as airdroid if you don't want to set up a wireless ftp.
hi, im using win7 64bit.. regarding wireless its working, but sometimes i will make a backup from my files on the phone, and there are some gigs on it, so its much easier to do that with the usb cable, but this connection is terrible.. is that a problem on the side from google or microsoft?? i mean, with android 2.3.x i cant notice this problems, the connection was very stable and fast.. but since the 4.0.x is out, its not usable..

Try a different cable and a different USB port, unplug other unnecessary USB devices as well. Also, your anti virus (if you're running any) maybe causing a problem.

USB Connection Not Recognized.

So I was having a problem with my laptop recognizing my S3 when connected via USB. The notification would not appear in the status bar that a connection was made, and neither Fedora Linux or Windows 7 would recognize that the device was connected. I tried reinstalling Kies/drivers under Windows, and checking the output of dmesg/lsub on Linux. Nothing.
Did some googling and found this thread that help solve the problem!

Just in case anyone else has this issue, this link should fix it.
I was just having this issue at work today. Looking forward to trying it tomorrow. Thanks.

What's the AOKP equivalent to PhoneUtil?
I would be really nice if this works. I can't seem to get an MTA connection with my Ubuntu machine.

If it is anything like the diagnostics mode menu to dump the imei it would have to be done via command line. As far as what commands to run i'm afraid i can't be much help.

Bluetooth Drivers for Windows 7

Smello. I've never tried transferring anything between my phone and Windows 7 machine via bluetooth before, so I never bothered to pair them. Now that I'm trying, Windows can't find the drivers (though it does detect the phone just fine).
Just wondering if someone could point me to them or help me find them. Thanks! :cyclops:
