Cooking A2SD in a Desire ROM? - Desire General

I did a lot of search without any success!
How would one go about adding A2SD (have the signed zip) to a ROM manually, i.e. without utilizing the Modaco online kitchen?
I would appreciate any input guys, thanx

Install VoIP after flashing ROM?

Hey Guys!
I flashed Pandora Naked ROM few days ago. But sadly there is no VoIP function included. Is it possible to install a VoIP driver after flashing ROM or does the voip function have to be included in the ROM?
If it is possible to install the 'driver' after flashing, do you know a tutorial or do you have a suitable cab for me??
Thx a lot!!

Is it correct to use this file WM6VoIP.CAB first and after that the SIP Config Tool 2.0.1 (or would you prefer SIPConfigTool 2.0.0?)? Are there still problems with this programs (sry, but I dont want to read more than 100 pages to know that this solution is working). I'm asking because there are some posts which describes problems / a not correctly working with that tools.
Thank you for your help!!

Not sure either way.
I just was trying to help you out in finding your answer.
I don't usually have any concerns trying different cabs, or the such, because I do a Sprite Backup before trying anything.
I installed WM6VoIP.cab first and after that Sip Config Tool 2.0.1. Than I did a soft reboot, setup the VoIP settings via the config tool and everything works.
But ... The bandwidth is too slow! Is there a possibility to reduce the voice quality that the used bandwidth become more less?

Ripping .cabs from other ROMS

I have searched for the last 2 hours and cannot come up with a good answer.
I have a collection of various ROMS that people have cooked up, for instance Blinky and others. There are some items I would like to grab from these ROM sets and either make my own or install a ROM and install these other file individually from the .cab files.
I guess the question is how would I go about tearing apart the .nbh file so I could get what I wanted from it?
ThanX in advance.
Use ROMDonalds kitchen to extract whatever you want out a ROM. Use the signature link before to search for the Kitchen!

OEM tutorial according to XDA WIKI

Hi guys,
I've been trying to cook my own ROM for quite some time now. It's been going pretty good, but I want to implement some custom CABs. I've been kindly pointed towards: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=OEM Package Tutorial. This page has a part called 'Converting Cabs to Packages with Ervius Package Creator', I've tried it SOOOOO many times now, but the package KEEPS crashing constantly and whining I didn't extract a CAB. Well I did, I've followed the instructions EXACTLY! I really don't know what I'm doing wrong, Ervius' package is so buggy. Is there any other tool that allows people to create packages for use with bepes buildOS?
How do people create HEAPS of OEM packages? They're surely not using Ervius' tool, it just can't be! Can anyone tell me which tool/method is being used?
Thanks in advance!
What version of package creator are you using? Search and use newer versions, that might help.
If it doesnt, then search for faria's kitchen from wizard forum. He has a wonderful manual for how to create your own OEM packages.
Good luck!

Extracting CAB from ROM

Sorry for this NOOB-Question... I really tried it by myself!
Didnt find the solution i was looking for,....
I simply want to have certain CAB out of different ROMs.
There are many nice ROMs here in the Forum... and all are a little different ...
Now i like to have one cab from ROM "A","B", "C"..and install it on together with ROM"X".
But how do I get the CABs out of the ROM?
For Example HTC Connetction Setup out of the Bepe 0.99d or Duttys_Diamond V1.8 to install it in the DIAMOND ROM V3.3
I found some "How to Cook"- Guidelines.. but none of them helped me getting the Cabs?! Did i make a mistake?? Or isnt it that easy?
Would be nice if you could help me out with that?!
And no.... the HTC ConnectionSetup_CAB you can find here in the Forum isnt working on my device... but the one in Bepes Rom is doing his job.
Thank.. and again sorry..
Bobo
Use CeCmd (attachment).
Copy it to your device, run it, adjust the file properties (show hidden and ROM files).
Choose the files you want (search the windows folder) and copy it to a (in advance created!) folder of your choice.
Thanks...
..it worked... Now I can pick out the CABs I like from the ROMs I like and install it into my favorite ROM! GREATING THE BEST ROM IN THE MILKYWAY!! UUUAAAHH!!
Thanks again!!

HELP: Customize a particular rom

hello,
I would like to ask help regarding a customization of a particular ROM file.
Actually it is not really a customization but I just want to remove some applications that I do not need inorder for me to save RAM since by default i only have less than 10MB ram left to me
would this be possible?
the only file I have is the nbh file of that ROM. [HTCPedia.com WM6.5 ROM with HTC Sense]
Hope somebody can help
Thanks and Godbless
Hi
The only wat to remove the built in apps is to cook the rom again, for that you need the kitchen it was made in
Good luck
