Phone stolen/phone recovered/phone wet--NOW WHAT? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

It is bad news , then good news, then bad again. My phone was stolen from where I work. It was found 5 hours later. It was really wet when it was found. (we don't know how it got wet, nor for how long it was in water..)I dried it off, put it in rice for 48 hours...I have turned it on, and it stays on for about 3 min. Then it shuts off. It will not start up again unless I take out the battery. And will do the on thing for 3 min again, etc...
So I have questions...If I keep this thing in rice for a longer period, does it have a chance of working? I filed a police report. I have a case #. What are the chances of HTC covering this by warranty? The water indicator mark on the phone itself is pink/red. The battery is pink cross-haired. It doesn't look as pink as the phone unit itself.
I called HTC just now. They are closed until Monday. I just wanted to get some varied opinions. Thanks.

well first question is, do you have insurance for the phone? i dont think HTC would take care of it as of they only replace if the phone has defects, but insurance would, theyll be your best friend in situations like this, happened to my Touch Pro, i put the sucker in rice for 5 days and its working great, only thing is that there still some spots left from the water on the screen, but its barely noticeable, but the day it got wet, called up AT&T and they said theyll send me a new phone, which how i ended up having a Tilt 2
also to add on to this, i dont think the cops can find out who stole it who knows....someone can come up and admit it....

my phone was stolen about a month ago...i just called tmo and submitted a claim via asurion...from your sig, it appears this may not be an option for you...
chances are, they will deny your claim, as the phone is in you possesion and is wet. how are they to know that your phone was stolen as opposed to you getting it wet. as a former claims adjuster, that's how I would view it.
lastly, do you have a cell phone repair shop in your area, it may be worth your while having them take a look at it, rather than getting htc involved...

if you have asurion insurance they shouldnt deny you a claim but it may be different in the area you live in, for me with sprint i must pay a $100 deductible but it covers theft, physical damage, and water damage for a replacement

No, I do not have any insurance on the phone. I have Home Owner's Insurance, but I believe my deductible is prob pretty high.
I don't know about Asurion. It looks like they cover the Carrier's phones, not an unlocked one.
I was in hopes that HTC would cover it since I didn't get it wet myself. It was stolen from my office at school...( a &*#@ student did it). Since I have a police report and case #, I can verify that it was stolen and discovered "wet." You don't think HTC would accept that? I mean, it is all true.
It is so discouraging.

It's unfortunate what happened yes, but HTC only feels responsibility to cover repairs that are related to faulty manufacturing...even though you can prove that it's not your fault the phone was stolen or damaged, those are both issues that only some type of insurance would cover, I'm sorry to say. Assurion is the company that provides harware insurance to most of the major carriers, but yes I think it's only offered on phones bought from/through the carrier itself....you would know if you had it because there'd be a small (~$10) charge on your bill each month for it.

What if I got a Square Trade warranty?

Well sure if you had that on the phone then you should be just fine...their terms clearly say they cover immersion, so they shouldn't give you any hassle about it. Although, I do see that their fine print states "unlocking a cell phone after purchase will void the warranty"...so don't know if you might get a hassle for the custom ROM, or if they only care about carrier unlocking.
Now, if you don't have the Square Trade warranty yet and were thinking about purchasing it and then submitting this claim, they might have an exclusion period where you can't make a claim within the first x number of days after buying the warranty, if the phone isn't brand new when you purchase the coverage (that's not unheard of in the 3rd-party warranty business)
EDIT: Yes, they do have a 60-day exclusion period...anything happening in that period is considered to be "pre-existing". And, it looks like you have to purchase the coverage within the first 30 days after the auction that you bought it from.

Suggest you do the following:
1) Batteries are easily damaged by water and can become a silent fire hazard, so remove and dispose of the battery Leave the back cover off the phone.
2) Give the phone a very thorough bath in distilled water (no soap or anything) to remove any contaminants. Optionally, disassemble phone first.
3) Shake as much water as possible out of the phone
4) Wrap phone securely in paper towel
5) Place phone in a bowl of instant rice, and cover bowl with plastic wrap
6) Put bowl in a sunny place
7) 24 hrs after there is no more condensation on the plastic wrap, your phone is as dry as it ever is going to be
8) Put new battery in phone, replace cover, and charge for full charge cycle
With a little luck, your phone will be working as good as new.

Thanks. I will try above steps. I will keep you posted here.

So out of curiosity, I tried the phone again. It comes on for 3 minutes, then goes blank. (shuts off) While it is on, the phone itself gets really hot, as well as the battery when I remove it. What is this a sign of?

Did you try following the advice where it said to replace the battery? You can get them dirt cheap on ebay if you havnt. I would try that first myself as that would save a lot of time AND money if thats all it is.
You also might be able to get a new battery from your carrier. I've heard of people walking in and saying hey I only get so many minutes out of my battery and they just give them a new one. I would go in NOT say anything about dropping your phone in the water and saying the battery only lasts three minutes, then show them how it turns off after. You may end up getting a free one.
Again thats assuming you bought it from your carrier and not direct from HTC. If you didnt.. ebay!

I finally got a different battery put in the phone. I also did a hard reset. The phone went thru the process of booting up, setting up phone for 1st time, etc...it stayed on for about 5 min. Then.....BLACK...BLANK screen. Now when I try to start it up, it will only last about 60 seconds.
Suggestions on what to do next? Thanks.

Yeah, it's time to throw in the towel on this one I'm afraid
EDIT: I don't see for sure that you followed steps 5-7 in datawrhsdoc's instructions above...did you? It may be past that point yet, but it's the only other thing that might have had any chance of helping you

I had already done the rice trick. Thanks for following up. dang this just pisses me off.

yeah, if you turned on the phone while the electronic components were wet, chances are something fried inside. time for a new phone.
and why would htc pay to repair this phone? warranty only covers manufacturer's defects.
on the positive side, you can find tp2's for about 250.00 right now.

Camera Glass

So sometime between friday and today I've managed to crack the glass over my camera. I have no clue how this could have happened since I have it in a seidio innocase, and the camera rests below the case. I don't get why they didn't use the same type of glass for the camera as they did for the scree!
In any case, I'm not sure what to do to fix it? I'm still within my 30 days (barely!) but I'm not sure if it's a widespread enough issue for me to try and get them to replace it.
Any advice you guys can give me would be appreciated.

They have to replace it if it's within 30 days. Go replace it no way you can fix that.
So basically tell them to fix it or that i'll return the phone and cancel my service? (i'm also a new customer)
well if you have the insurance that may help a little.. but im not sure if you would have to pay that crazy $100 fee
I'm not sure they'll take it back in the 30 days, since it's not a defect and the phone isn't in "like new condition." You broke it, so they probably won't accept it.
If you haven't purchased the phone insurance yet, I would just purchase that and then wait a while and attempt to get it exchanged that way. Also, a repair facility might be able to replace it..?
As I said on another forum, if you end up pulling out the glass (because it is very easy to replace yourself), take some measurements. We should be able to get a sapphire lens that will replace it and be much more durable.
I read somewhere, either here or one of the other forums that the camera lens cover is actually made of plastic. The poster said he heated a pin and was able to push it through like a hot knife through butter.

Interesting... Got a link?
I turned the phone over on day 18, and yes, my glass has a "popped" right down the middle. I babied this thing in a gooey case, b.c even though 2.5 years with an iphone with no case and no issues, i thought htc was being gusty with their protruding camera, so for that reason alone I went with a case.... and NO WAY, crack. and i did the run around yesterday. I called HTC, and even thought the person who called the rep right before me complained of the EXACT same issue, short ownership and glass crack, they said sadly the crack is considered physical damage and not yet a issue htc is aware of. so i called a local Sprint store who said oh yeah, no problem, your within the 30 days right? yes, call this number at sprint headquarters, they will send you a new one and a box to send the old one, bla bla bla like its totally no problem, however, the corporate sprint rep kindly regrets i have been misinformed, and its physical damage. then i call the local store back and they are bummed and send me to a different store, a cooperate repair place who they believe would swap it out. this guy says, bummer, looked at it via a microscope, says its a plastic sheet cracked straight through with small perpendicular cracks and due to popularity they don't even have any repair parts... basically they get them as people smash their front screen, then they part them out. b.c. the phones are so new and popular, they don't have any (i'm in a 4g area). so he just said take the phone to any cooperate store, not bestbuy radioshack, (third party dealers) and say that i received the phone damaged, and just noticed it now, and they should they will swap you with one due to being in 30 days. So i will try that today, but i feel caught in a catch 22. its not even 30 days and the device breaks, which qualifies as physical damage from the customer, so no one will swap phones with you, and b.c its so new and hard to get, no one has parts even, repair facilities, so our 30 day window will run out before we can get it fixed for free... Next day i try a second corporate store, for sure the cracked high strength plastic is considered physical damage so there is no way to return phone and cancel service, you will still be stuck with the cost of the phone. so. because its still early, you can add insurace 7 bucks a month, 100 buck deductible. so basically my options are 107 for a phone with a perfectly sealed camera that doesn't create any glare in low light pics or pics shot into a light source, or i can just ride it out, and hope over time htc does something or parts become available via ifixit.com. so. mega bummer no idea how it broke, obviously everyone who looks at the single crack has to believe you somehow maliciously directly hit it on something with a protruding point, and i'm pretty sure it wasn't there when i got it, but i do know i didn't do anything out of the ordinary, so its a real puzzler. but, i would say if you have this issue, take it to a sprint repair facility if only to have the tech log the problem on thier system ,b/c then more techs will add notes to the issue and sprint/htc will have actual legit feedback to see if its a trending problem. even though you are going to get nowhere, even within the 30 days, make the complaints so the problem get's noticed. oh and did i mention i bought 2 one for me, one for my wife... with hers, so far so good. would love to hear if any others had luck fabricating one out of sapphire or something else really durable. its got to be a 20 cent piece of plastic.
That sucks man, sorry to hear that. I know other people have had the same issue. Hopefully htc owns up and fixes it.

evo accidentally submerged in water... couple questions

The other day I forgot to remove the evo out of my pockets and went swimming with it. It was submerged for a good 4 or 5 minutes and its been in a bag of rice for two days so far. The wetness indicator is pink on both battery and the device. Theres still some water in the lcd screen and its slowly drying little by little. However I tried to boot it up and its stuck on the "HTC EVO 4G" screen... I can only access the screen when you press vol down + power. Look like it needs to be replaced.
Couple questions that I have:
1. I have the $7 a month insurance option and I don't mind paying the $100 fee but do they cover water damage? Will they give me a new phone?
2. My phone is fully rooted with CM6 rom on there... are they going to find out? How can I fully wipe this out before I make the switch?
3. Do you know if the EVO are still out of stock/backordered at this moment? How long should I expect the new replacement?
Thanks in advance.
Covered
The asurion insurance certificate (that is what you have) says it covers liquid damage. I presume swimming leads to liquid damage.
My son's EVO was shattered in early July and it took about 10 days from start of claim until the replacement arrived.
I can't imagine that they would find out about the rooting. Even if they did, how can that explain why they should not cover the liquid damages. LOL
dude, if your paying the $7 insurance either way your stuck paying the $100 deductible so just report it stolen so you have an extra battery and back cover... just keep that bad boy for parts
bummer!
you are in luck thou.. anything accidental including water damage is covered.
Nobody cares about rooting that's just software which is re-written when the phone is refurbished (and yours is probably toast anyway).
My friend had one replaced and it took about 11 days or so...the supply is probably still low and demand high for these phone so it might be a bit of a wait
BTW when your submit the damaged phone to asurion, they do not want the battery.

do I have to file a police report in order to do report it stolen?
Don't mess with insurance fraud. Even for a damaged phone I had to sign an affidavit that this is what happened. Just submit for water damage - you can add a battery AND charger for less than 15 bucks on eBay.

Keep the battery. You don't have to send it to them. As for the back cover, I guess it sank in the river......
thanks. i will report it for water damage... but most likely i will receive a refurbished evo right?

Manufacturing Floor - Cracked Screen

Good Morning Guys and Girls,
Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue as me and how they got on.
I have had my phone exactly 3 weeks today I was using my phone and it was absolutly fine (no scratches/dents etc) put it face up on a table went had a showever when I came back there is a very large split in the screen perfectly straight (which would indicate manufacturing problem) going from top left corner half way down the phone to the right side.
I have spoken to HTC and they say its a chargeable fix as the warranty doesn't cover accidental damage but its not accidental damage! I have just phoned up my provider who said it would have to be sent back for them to determine whether it was accidental or not before sending out a new one but then they realised I actually got it through the carphone warehouse (as T-mobile direct were out of stock) and have now said I will have to take it to them as its their phone even though my contract was taken out with T-mobile direct.
This is a pain!
can you upload a photo?
Sure you had no impact before that? Or excessive pressure like in a pocket. Maybe it cracked later.
If not I don't know, maybe some faulty panel indeed that had a weak area that cracked due to thermal stress or something. In the lab it is probably easy to determine if it was cracked from the inside or due to external impact or torsion.
I have had a couple of light bumpbs but no damage/scratches after them and it was sitting all night on charge in my front room got up this morning picked it up used it for a minute (still fine) walked away came back 15 minutes later to find a crack. Noone had touched it.
Normally when I break a screen its a tiny crack and not normally in a perfect straight line. This one is 2.6" long
Pretty upset with this as its only 3 weeks old. I have had HD / HD2 / TD / TYTN etc and really abused them and I only end up with minor chips and scratches after about 10 months. Where as this one I have really tried to look after it
Also to add I never put my phone in my back pocket wher eI can sit on it.
It never shares a pockets with coins / keys or anything else that can damage it
And I will try and get a photo of it somehow - only cam I have at the moment is on the phone so don't think I can use that
Heres a picture, you can see where the light is reflecting is roughly the start point of the crack and it goes out both ways. I just don't see how a crack like this can form on its own sitting face up on a table.
That really sucks man.
I am going to get a hard cover for my phone. Don't want a cracked screen.
Having a look at your picture though - there doesn't seem to be a pressure point of impact etc. So what you're saying looks to be correct.
Hope you get it sorted.
I know thats what is frustrating me. Everyone telling me its accidental damage and I know I am not lieing, I have broken screens in the past and seen many more and I know how accidental damage looks you normally have a point of inpact as you say, its normally small or if it is big normally has multiple fractors no just one long steady line.
Yes, exactly.
However - you're going to have a hard time proving this to any retailer. As they normally have a very strict policy on warranty claims.
I'll get my way I have a nack of getting things I want from shops and businesses
I am hoping like the guy said at T-mobile as its only 3 weeks they might just do a handset swap rather than fixing it.
Anyone by any chance know how much it is to get a screen replaced?
Done some research for you - you're looking at 70 + pounds to replace it.
Thanks. Hmmmm thats quite a bit that I don't really have. Just hope I can get them to accept it as warranty. Might have to visit all stores in Sussex until one agrees to repair it lol.
Well it is even more, if you didn't actually cause the crack on the screen!
Hoping my Desire doesn't suffer the same fate as yours!
Good luck. My advice is do not put it on a table and walk away!
Ill post here how I get on.
I will be sure to keep a constant look on it, while I leave it on the table. Will test later if the same situation arises when leaving it on a chair.
Jokes aside: mine fell twice already. Once it was after a week I had it, it landed from about 1 meter high, 50cm far away after it slipped from my hand when picking it up from ... a table ! (I see a pattern, the desire doesn't like tables). Landed and rolled on my polished floor and I still can't see no visual damage. From that day on, I grip it so firmly, that it almost behaves like an iphone4
Second time it was from about 30cm and obviously no damage.
I had it for about 2-3 months and -knock wood- screen is ok.
It does look as a factory defect.
Is ur handset not insured either mobile phone insurance or as it happened in your house - your house insurance
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Well, don't know how the law is over there with you. But here in the Netherlands (and I thought it was EU, but not sure). Within a certain period of time the seller of the device is the one that should prove it wasn't used properly etc.
So.. they can say whatever they want about it being accidental damage. But at least here in this country, it's not up to you to prove otherwise. THEY have to prove you mistreated the device.
Your screen cracks without mistreating the device, sounds like a proper warranty claim to me!
It could be there has always been some tension on the screen, and when it got hot or cold it finally cracked. Who knows. I'd say let them prove you mistreated the device.
i work for carphone warehouse mate i wouldnt no what to do really say some thing elswe is wrong with it like crashing or some thing. depends on how noticeable try putting a cheap screen protector on it and see if it cant been seen then take it back LOL gimme a message if you want any more info =]
Don't CPW give you 3 months insurance for free as a come on?
That's nasty. I dropped mine from 30cm onto a wooden floor and the battery cover flew off and it sticks up in one corner now so had to bend it back to shape!
Good luck getting it sorted out.

Question about TEP returns

I have a couple of questions when it comes to the deductible and TEP replacement.
1) Drop damage - I dropped my phone on some pretty rough concrete, scuffed up a corner pretty bad. If I sharpie it it's not really noticeable, but I was wondering if they'll charge me my deductible for that.
2) Water damage - I may have (idk) tripped my internal moisture sensor... left my phone in my pants pocket during a shower, and it was pretty damp when I pulled it out.... I'm not sure how easy those are to trip though. I assume this would result in a deductible charge though?
newalker91 said:
Cosmetic damage such as a corner scruff is not covered, not even with a deductible. Just something you have to live with. As for moisture sensor you can check it yourself by looking at your battery.
It's very difficult to damage your device with air moisture. I take my device into the shower multiple times per week and lay it on the edge of the tub on a wash rag to listen to music while I shower. I keep a Trident Aegis case on it (all ports covered). Had it since October and when I opened it to upgrade my cameras the internal indicators were still pristine.

Wasn't wondering so much about returning it FOR the damage as I was about returning it WITH the damage.
As for internal indicator: Is it white by default? Mine has little red X's on it, though the battery sensor is blank.
Can't you just say you lost it?
1) TEP DOES cover water exposure. I know from experience and it was posted on here by sprint tecs.
2) If your phone is damaged and your going to turn it you might as well say you lost it. You will have to pay the same either way, but you get to keep your old one for parts.

As a Sprint Repair tech i can answer this for ya
1) TEP does cover the water damage but it through assurion for a claim and a deductable of $100.
2) If it's an inhouse exchange you can get it done for free by bringing in your old device, we order a "new" one and then trade you for your damaged one. However if your going to claim lost or stolen that chalks it back upto having the assurion company involved again for the $100 deductable. Hope this helps and if you have anyother questions about it you can shoot me a PM

Need advice with a bad digitizer from ebay

http://db.tt/ANyYkLH1
That link is a video that I filmed with my amaze. I made it to prove to a guy that sold me the digitizer from ebay that I didnt damage it during installation. Basically, I installed the digitizer assembly last week, and I noticed the dead spot when texting a friend, and everytime that I try to type thw S or E key, a W would pop up, and also, while in recovery, I cant select any options that appear in the spot that is, in this video, a horizontal line where the day of the week is displayed on my weather widget in the lock screen.
I informed the guy of this problem, and he offered me $50 partial refund (it cost me $150) or if I can remove the assembly without damaging it, he will exchange it. Here is the problem, if I do damage it in the slightest, not only will he not warranty it out, but I would have to just throw my phone in the trash, because $300 is too much money to pay for just the screen. So I told him that I cant take the chance of removing it if I will be penalized for damaging a defective screen. So I was thinking about sending him that link to show him that the screen is good, the amoled isnt pierced, and the ribbon isnt damaged. I mean, I would know if I damaged the assembly, because I installed it myself, besides, unless he is accusing me of damaging this digitizer/amoled assembly with psychic powers professor x style, he has to know that he is just discouraging me to pursue a refund/exchange. I even offered to send him my phone, so that he can see for himself that its defective, yet not physically damaged before its removed. If he damages it during removal, atleast he will know that it was originally defective when I recieved it, before I ever installed it.
This is doing the same thing that happened to a friend of mine when he didnt line up the lcd to the digitizer, and I paid so much for this assembly for the very comfort of knowing that it was done right. He still insist that he tested that screen before he shipped it (he claims that all digitizer assemblies are tested before being shipped on his ebay page), but from watching the video, atleast in my opinion, its pretty obvious that something is wrong here. I opened a case with ebay, but until june third, I cant escalate the case to ebay, and it says that I should try to work it out by ourselves, but he is stalling and discouraging me. I think this is all bs man. So if anyone has any advice on how to get this situation resolved, please chime in. I am stuck at a stalemate now. Plus, I need my phone fixed. Thanks.

It'll be your word against his on weather you damaged it during install. EBay will probably stay out of it if his feedback on eBay is overall positive.
Afraid it sounds to me like your best option is to remove it carefully and go for the exchange. Or take his 50 and cut your losses.
Sorry, but that is how I see it going. If he has a solid eBay reputation, they aren't gonna force him to do anything.

Yea, thats why I went with him, because his reputation is 99.1%, where mine is a 100%, but I only purchased items, so its really hard to get negative feedback from purchasing anything on ebay when all of your purchases are the buy now type, and your payment isnt declined.
So, what if I do remove the display without damaging it, could I send it to someone at ebay first to independantly verify that its a defect and not physical damage? Do you think that my video will suffice for evidence that no physical damage has occured? I mean, look, the screen displays fine, which these are so sensitive that if I pierced the amoled display, it wouldnt light up right? Then the glass, its not cracked, not even a scratch, so surely no physical damage there. The third possibility that he listed was a torn ribbon, but again, as I am typing this up on the phone now, if I tore the ribbon by installing it, surely it would either work, or not work right? I am not an expert, so my only recourse is applying logic using common sense.
What bothers me is that he knows that I bought this assembly to permamently install it, its not like removing a sim card. I am going to write him back and link him to the video right now. I dont know what else to say.
Well, I hope it works out for you. I just can't see eBay doing anything about it....and if they were gonna, probably take forever.

The guy told me that he doesnt want to separate the screen because if the cable rips, he cant prove that it wasnt already like that. I don't know, I just can't believe that there isn't a solution for this kind of problem. I need some objectivity here, am I just being paranoid? Its so easy to break these things, and if I damage it pulling it out, I wont get a refund or exchange, and if he would have really tested this thing, then I wouldnt have recieved a defective digitizer, and I would have no reason to remove it. Thats what really bothers me, I shouldn't even have this problem, but then again (might as well admit it before someone else says it), life isnt fair.
By the way, the guy said to process my refund or exchange by clicking on that link above, but ebay says not to respond if there is an offer to complete a transaction outside of ebay. I clicked on the link and saw the ebay logo, but the words are really fuzzy and I cant make em out. Anyone ever seen a page like this? Is this what the official ebay return page looks like? I cant get used to the screen like this, so if I have to accept the $50, then essentially I just lost $100 because I will have to buy another one, or sell this thing for $450 to be fiscally neutral. Thanks for answering back, I dont have much experience with ebay.
If it were me.. I would do a partial return and get the 50.
I don't know how hard it is to take the digitizer off but my past experience with ebay related purchases are never great. If you do manage to get it off without damaging it I'm sure he might even throw up the excuse that it is damaged on his end, and you will have to do an insurance claim through whoever did the shipment.
Speaking on the ebay site, that is definitely not a legit ebay affiliated site.
It's probably his own site use to track his sales and whatnot. I would say it's fine to use but dont put any personal information into it.
That first portal with item # and your ID seems ok to put in, but I wouldnt do any passwords or **** like that.

I have no clue how this guy has such a good reputation, I mean, does that short video clip not demonstrate that the glass doesnt have a single scratch, much less any cracks, the amoled display is perfect, so I obviously didnt pierce the display, and well, I dont think that the screen would show any sign of life if I tore the cable. He is pulling sneaky tricks to avoid refunding my money. I dont even want an exchange from him, because I don't want to deal with this type of situation. I have to wait until June 3rd to escalate to ebay, and I am going to stand my ground.
Hell, I really dont have a choice, it says right above his message that if I complete any transaction outside of ebay, I forfeit my buyer protection from ebay.
Thanks to everyone who responded to my thread, ebay sided with me, and told me to send the item back, and I would get a full refund, so I printed the shipping label that they supplied me, and I tried to be careful removing it, packed it up and shipped it last thursday, and just a few hours ago, it was delivered, ebay refunded the money to my prepaid credit card. So while I wait for the funds to post, im wondering, should I just keep the money, and just sell the phone without a screen, or is it worth ordering a digitizer from a different guy and try it again? You think that I could get any money for the motherboard and all of the pieces, or should I just put it back together and sell my htc amaze (what im using atm)? Thanks again for the advice!

Me ... for the money I would look online for a used one in your local area, online classifieds, etc. At least then if there's an obvious problem you can see it before handing over cash. I don't know about your area but the S2's come up pretty regularly where I'm at in the $125-200 price range. Everyone is onto the S3/4 band wagon. With your current phone ... if nothing else you'll have a spare for parts.

I live in jacksonville, florida, and typically s2's go for atleast $200-$225, sometimes even $275 if the screen and bezel don't have a bunch of scratches, so I have been looking online for those digitizers that include the midframe, and they are around $175, but it seems pike all that I have to do at this point is transfer the motherboard, front facing camera and earpiece/mic jack, and it would be mint. I just sanded down the bezel since it was all apart, and what a pita to get that chrome off, and make it all look uniform!
Btw, whats up with the led for the charging light? I never noticed it light up when I plugged it into charge. My htc amaze shines green when fully charged, and orange when charging. I already read that we dont have a notification led, but I see these tiny little round crystal looking dots next to the front facing camera, but no ribbon coming off of them, are those just samsung ricing out their phones like a civic with an exhuast tip?
I thought those were sensors.
