IGO Amigo 8.4.2. and EnergyRom on TP2 - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Does anyone have Igo Amigo 8.4.2.109504 running properly on Touch Pro 2 (with EnergyRom Series 21898 + Sense 2.5 )?
My problem is that Igo is responding, opening and starting, but then when it begins with "Autodetecting GPS Receiver..." ...it actually never finds it.
Any help, suggestion and resolution, maybe?
Tnx

Managed to find a solution myself...may help someone getting same problem with Igo 8.4 not managing to "Autodetect GPS Receiver"...:
go to amigo/save folder...then edit system.ini to add (change) gps configuration to:
[gps]
port="4"
baud="57600
In my case problem resolved and Igo is running.

Hi
is tomtom 7 available for the PDA?
Tomtom7 is available for ARTEMIS
But this topic is for IGO8
Just a probleme in IGO8, because my time is not the same when I close the program
For example : my Artemis says it is 08:00 am (French hour), +1 GMT
I launch IGO, I close the program, and after, my Artemis indicates 07:00 am
It is configured on "Minsk" and not "Paris, Madrid".
I tried many things but nothing to do.
Anyone has an idea for this, please?
the same problem... but I think it caused downloaded version
thats a general bug in Igo8. It will be fixed with the next release.
Meanwhile just add to your sys.txt on Artemis and SD-Card follwogin entry:
[timezone]
sync_os_timezone=0
reset_os_timezone=0
this will help
regards.
Seems like it's working
Thanks for the tip.
However, same problem with sound which is deactived or high when closing the program.
Before launching Igo, my Artemis is set on "vibrate" and I lose this parameter after closing Igo...
Any other Idea?

IGO8 on HTC P3600

Hi
I have on my mobile phone with ROM "DIAMOND Edition by Akeo_V3.1" IGO8 FINAL installed but I have some problems...
I go to www.poiplaza.com and download speedcams of my country in format .kml but where I paste them? what is correct folder?
one more question is why I cant rotate screen with IGO8? some one have this problem?
Best Regards, Filipe Abrantes
The file .kml must be converted. i don't remember the program's name (see gpsforum.biz).
location for speedcams: \iGo8\CONTENT\SPEEDCAM\
you can't rotate the screen because of the iGO version you have. Yours I presume it's a beta.
but have some version who I can rotate the screen?

if Igo8 the version you are using surporting this, then its OK,
also you can change the config for the file SYS,
example, If igo8 support 240x320 and also 320x240.
if you like to use 320x240
then you go to SYS to amend it
[rawdisplay]
screen_x=320
screen_y=240
or
[rawdisplay]
screen_x=240
screen_y=320

i challenge anybody in claiming igo8 works well on the trinity! try routing a long trip and you will get "not enough memory"...this is simply a lack of RAM memory.....

iGO8 on Trinity
Running iGO8 on a 64M device is a challange, I agree. Some claim it is impossible, and I was one of thenm until recently, but there are some go around that helps make it work. I currently run a fully loaded ROM, not even a naked one, and able to run TouchFlo Manila most of the time, and have iGO8 run with some tweaks.
First make sure the following lines are on your sys.txt:
[debug]
cache=2048
reserve_memory=1500000
[navigation]
sim_speed_factor=3
That by itself will allow iGO claculate long routs (at least 500 miles long), recalculate when taking the wrong turn, display 3D maps with terrain without delays, and most important - will not crash, while allowing phone to work, emails to be recieved, etc.
If your ROM does not have 20M RAM free before iGO runs, it is most likely because of today plugins. Here is a neat trick. Use mToday (see mobile.htc.com). It's a freeware that allows to have two today screens. Create a secondary today screen that has only iGO on it. I gain more than 20M with this trick, and iGO runs happily...
I have to admit I did not invent this, but I gathered this info into one place for the Trinity folks as somehow iGO8 is a big deal for me (ex TT user, but iGO rulez for me) but not mentioned too often in this forum for Trinity. I even made tynynt mad when I was asking him about his tynynt015 and iGO8..
Oh, and TT8 is not a PDA version as far as I know, not that I care right now. I have abandoned TT for good. I still have a TT paid acount until March 2009 (yes, I am legit) I can not care less...

TomTom On HD

Has anyone heard anything about TomTom on the HD? After watching the french review and her saying it doesnt work, is that because the tomtom 7 on the diamond is locked to the diamond?
I suppose we will never know until someone gets there hand on one?
And I wonder if it is because of applications made for VGA device is having problem on the 800x480 screen.
That may be the issue, however so far I have never seen the Diamond having any problems showing QVGA apps either it just blows them up. But because the aspect ratio is no longer 4:3 this may be an issue --- I can not image that HTC lets this be an issue though since hardly any application is made to suit WVGA.
There are 2 editions of TomTom (QVGA and VGA) as far as I know. The samsung omnia has also a different aspect ratio and the QVGA version works perfect. So I think the VGA version will work also on the Touch HD without any problems.
I have a Toshiba G900 (WVGA Display, 800x480) and I can confirm that TomTom works without problems on non standard screen resolutions.
This has also been confirmed by people with xperia's. It works without a problem!
Would TomTom 6 work on the HD?TomTom6 has worked fine on my HTC Universal, and its resolution is also different to the diamond. Or are there other problems to get TomTom6 work on the HD, like the internal GPS?
TomTom 6 works without any problems.
tomtom for htc diamond
i have tested both the tomtom 6 and tomtom 7 working on on the HTC diamond. It works a treat. Copilot 7 live also works well but the software is a lot older and doesnt pickup postcodes as well as tomtom.
Any more opinions as to screen compatibilty with popular software, like SB Pocket Plus and all the main apps?
Thanks!
Could anybody upload a screenshot picture of TomTom working on a WVGA Display (800x480)?

I also would be MOST interested in this as TomTom will be what I put this device to most (when I get it!).

what do you mean "locked to the diamond"? I used both TomTom 6 and 7 for months on my VX8600
TomTom 7.451 is ok (7.9 ko) but keyboard is very little...
Currently I'm running TomTom 7 on my Touch Pro with maps for version 6.75. Working perfectly. TT 7 was installed from a cab file available on this forum which was extracted from Diamond. Will this same version of TT7 will work on HD with same maps (version 6.75)? I ma not sure what is the extended version of this TomTom i.e., it is 7 but is it 7.45 or 7.9 .... don't know. Tried to find it but couldn't find any such detail. Cab file was taken from Diamond forum on this site.
I run TT 7.910.9185 with WCE map 725.1906 and agree that the street names are too small to read in traffic, behind the wheel. The onscreen keyboard however is just fine, there are two settings small and large.
I have TTN7 installed on my Touch HD, and have inserted the micro sd card from my Polaris that had TTN7 running with purchased v7 (go520) map from TomTom.
I have followed the start up process and when I get to the "select a map" screen, it shows the "Manchester" map I got as a freebie and the "UK & ROI" map I purchased & used on my Polaris. However, when I select either map, TTN7 just closes down. Any suggestions please.
The maps you purchased have been activated for your Polaris only, according to your device ID.
Sorry, but where I find the 7.910 Vga version that see my Htc HD in Tomtom Home?
Thankyou IceMatrix
P.S. Can admin delete the post in software thread

WM6.5 Hermes and iGo 8??

I seem to be unable to run iGo 8 navigation software on WM6.5 on my Hermes.
I tried different (lite) ROMs but I keep running into memory errors.
iGo 8 will run fine after a hard reset, but as soon as I sync my contact with an exchange server (approx. 500 contacts) iGo will crash.
I really want to use iGo instead of TomTom cause I spend a lot of time in eastern europe and Tomtom has no good maps over there...
Anyone running iGo on WM6.5 and how????
Thanks
Hi drbrains,
I've running it on TAI's WWE V15. Never had any problems just installed, GPS configured and using it. I only have 200 contacts, using IContact. I've had a similar problem on older Roms running Manilla...
I have good experience with iGO 8
In order to get rid of memory problems, I delete 3D buildings leaving only maps. This allows me running iGO on my Hermes while many other apps are running with as low as 11Mb of free RAM before start.
Thanks guys!!!
I will install v15 right now, and I will delete the 3d buildings (I never see them anyway in my part of the world )
Edit:
Turns out I had to update from my 8.0.0 version to 8.3.2 and that solved my problems.

Q: general problem between tomtom and wm6.5?

hi all,
i tried so many wm6.5 roms, but always have problems to run tomtom 7.915 smoothy. The moovement in navigation is lagging and tomtom reacts very slow. Also with the new wm6.5 rom from tomme45i with more than 27mb when starting tomtom the navigation is still lagging.
Can someone confirm this? Is there an solution for this problem?
thanks alot,
John
I didn't notice any lagging. Using the chanvi 21900 build with TomTom 7.915.
I do have chainfire's GFXBoost installed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509704)
Did speed up my trinity
Oh, and also changed some dll that are used to access storage card.
Only problem is that tomtom is killed when minimized no matter if it is excluded in taskmanager or not.
Arjan
No Lag for me on Chanvi, or Tomme45i 23017. TomTom 795.9196 Runs about as quick as my TomTom Rider, except for finding satellites the first time.
It depends on how many POI are displayed during navigation.
Try to disable some and check if it lag.
This already happens to me in the past because all of my POI were selected to display during navigation.
thanks, i will try and report later
i disabled some POIs and now tomtom works good.
But anyway i think that wm6.1 is better for tomtom, because under wm6.1 i can able much more POIs without lagging...
But WM6.5 has it's advantage, especially the Rom from tomme45i. So i stay with wm6.5 and disable some POIs
Advanced Config Tool

Using Advanced Config Tool you can try to change the Glyph Cache parameter.
But as you say the problem may be because of choosing lots of POIs...

Does this tool really works with Trinity? someone else tried this tool?
Whilst we are on the subject, is anyone here in the UK using Tomtom 7.915?
