IGO 8 on ARTEMIS

Hello
installed IGO 8 on my artemis with meschle rom vanilla 4.02 with cube
runs perfect, for the moment no diverence with speed as tomtom
tomorrow i will give it a special test with monumets , speedcams etc
for my onest opinion layout and design better then tomtom
i noticed for the moment just one minor problem;
Igo 8 gets stuck when s2u2 turns on,i just removed s2u2
are there some other user so i can hear there opinion

Ive installed S2U2 yesterday but haven't run IGO8 yet, so will do it now and post my findings in a bit.

Ok had it running for ten minutes now and has been fine?
i have got S2U2 setup so that it only comes on when the device is in standby and with IGO8 keeping the phone on it doesn't even start S2U2.

IGO 8 vs TomTom Navigator
Yeah,
installed IGO8 too, our 200MHZ TIO OMAP Processor is still fast enough
Maybe in future it will be too slow when 3D graphices are real to life, or like TomTom Navcore 8 (not for pda's). Tomtoms graphics are like a 80's computergame
My father in law still prefers tomtom (very user friendly) even with the 'easy mode' in IGO8.
I still have to test it passing monuments to see the better graphics, but runs smoothly, you can see that they worked on this one.
Any other competitive packages with great graphics ? (tested Destinator & Route 66 already in past). Maybe TomTom Navigator 7 will have better 3D graphics, any news ???

using IGO8 from begin of may with full details and works perfect.
I'm not using S2U2

I 'm using iGO8 full with 3d elevations, custom pois etc. Works fine on artemis with Vanilla 4.1 (not touch).
Problems (2) that I mention is:
1. it needs at least 16 MB ram free
2. when I press the call button to make a phone call during navigation, dialpad screen is a mess and no call can be made.
Waiting for a better Greek map because building numbers is totally wrong.

i also used the igo8. but as i made any turn it ran back in 2d modus. so i went looking for other navi software. tomtom i had for a very long time, but when i wanted to go to croatia for vacantion, i had to switch between 2 maps. western eu and eastern eu. now i use navigon, very convinced that this is really good. had no problems what so ever on the way to and back from croatia. fast and very good working for me.

Hey i've tested it too ... first I had the "not enough memory" error, now I use filesystem cache 125 kb so it starts at least ...
but if I want to plan a long route the error message of iGO appears: "Not enough Memory, use different parameters"
I've got 27,6 mb free program memory (Meschles Artemis Touch 4.02 Vanilla) ... whats the problem, any of you got an idea???
I think in general Artemis isn't really fitting the performance specifications for iGO 8.

How do you achieved this? I played around with the memory options for 4 hours -> no success

I don't know
but i closed all programs ( also pocketcm)
i removed everything from tomtom and i set the splash screen on disabled
with me no problems and i just have 19 mb free

Update
I am using igo now and it works perfect
i've got a 4 gb micro sd with full europe for igo 8 and full europe for tomtom
so i can use both now
works like a charm
no problems for me

Anyway, is there a real difference between Tomtom Navigator and Igo? I got Tomtom on my ARTEMIS and it's quite good but sure, I do not see buildings in 3D.

I have Igo8 on my Artemis (working on Artemis Touch 4.02 Full no cube ROM @ 473 MHz) with full details and some skins and works fine (need at least 16 MB free RAM)

realistic textures
full europe maps

Do IGO's maps take a lot of size on Micro SD card's or not? I know that for TOMTOM, maps can be about 100 Mb.

Hi I installed iGO 8 properly. But when it starts I see only blue igo screen and and " INIT API" then the program closes. Does anyone know what should be the problem.
I have Black&Blue 4.1 WWE Rom installed.

full TT europe map with POIs about 1,7 GB
full iGO europe map (including buildings, terrain, POIs) about 1,9 GB

what about free RAM before start IGO - more than 16 MB?

Tried to get TomTom Navigator 7 (from diamond) working on my Hermes but it fails to install and reports "the device is not supported".
Anyone had more luck or knows if a more generic version will be released soon?

I have no idea but to be honest i don't really think so. Hermes is no longer produced by HTC npw for quite some time so i doubt new versions of software will be supported by it...

I've read in other forums that hermes is not supported cos it doesnt have an integreated GPS, so if they can desactivate the part of the program that it checks if there's an internal gps it will work... i guess in sometime someone will make it.

The Tomtom7 that is being distributed has been ripped from the diamond. No maps are being distributed and there are a lot of people saying that Tom tom 6 maps don't work. If you can get the software working, you will still have to purchase the maps...

I've got TT7 working with the TT7 v710.1571 map since yesterday on my hermes. I've got a diffirent version then the diamond version because that one doesn't work. I don't know if I can post info about that because I think it is warez...

I tried to instal it on my hermes yesterday, no luck here. Phone saying that software cannot be instaled as is not signed, what is a bit strange as i have no problems with any other software.

Works fine on my TyTN with Western Europe map for TT6. I'm searching for the new Western Europe v7 map...
But to make it work, I didn't used the link which is in this thread but I downloaded it from an other thread. (No maps, no serial, only software)

It's working on my Hermes with map v710.1561.
UI is much better looking and there are a few new features like "where am I".
Help's you when you are lost with your navigator

I'm wondering if anyone has any version of TomTom Home to detect TT7 on the Hermes...
I'm interested in getting the mapshare features working...

Take your memory card out of your hermes and use a memory card reader, then TomTom Home will recognise it.

Tomtom 7 confirmed and working with New Zealand Map on Jasjam. Goodluck!

I've tried doing this, but I still get the "Connect your TomTom device" page...
Did you get it working with TT Home 2.3 or 1.5?
If with 2.3, are you able to advise me the directory layout and volume name of your SD Card? I'm guessing it's going to be something basic that is not working lol

I'm in the same boat. Can confirm working with UK & ROI 7.15

Got TomTom 7.450 (9028) working with Australia Map 720_1838 the latest 2008 Australia Map used the cab mentioned earlier in this thread thru Rapidshare.
I have not been able to hookup to TomTom home 2.3 yet

Got it working on CRC's stable 11 ROM on my Hermes 100.
I got my TTN 7.450 (9028) from TPB but the cab files appear to be identical to the ones posted in this thread... but it includes some other goodies that have been available for a long while.
Also apparently I have outdated maps though (damn you in2vnyl) as my maps were only v705_1485 but I am now upgrading to v1838 care of IPM.

IPM IP Mart Forum is really organized takes a bit of reading but the site has a lot of helpful information concerning TomTom GPS.
New TomTom setup with lastest TomTom application and 2008 Australia Map s really awesome. I don't think text to speech is featured for PPC Though

Navigation software for Blackstone

Hello.
I'm looking for some navigation software for my Blackstone.
It would be great if the phone was fully supported i.e fullscreen 800X480.
Maps have to cover Australia and also New Zealand if possible.

I like IGO, but I often got the issue that it leads me to road closed to car' traffic (or limited to residents only). Can be a real disturbance...

Alright. So.. which of these "cooked" versions is the best for Australia (and New Zealand?)
For your notice, Route 66 fully supports Blackstone(acc. to their website), but the price is sky high - 179,95$.

It is solved and works without problems, but it is necessary to make some modifications in sys.txt.

Igo 8 And TomTom
I have igo8 and TomTom 7 on my HD and i am happy with them both, they both look great on the big screen, but i think Igo 8 looks and works the better of the two, easy to instal and easy to use, very nice piece of software

TT7 with TT6 Maps

Hi all,
I got round to installing TTN on my HD yesterday after installing Miri's WM6.5 ROM.
I installed TT6 and then discovered it doesn't work so read around some threads on here about using TT7 instead.
I got the QVGA TT7 Black CAB from one of the threads on the forum and installed it, however my TT6 Western Europe maps aren't being shown and it's reporting No Maps.
According to TT Home my map is version 660.1219 (that's just the UK and Ireland part) - Will this map version work or am I going to have to buy the new one?
PS: Yes, this is a purchased and official map.

I Have installed TTN 7.450 under wm6.1 with official purchased italian maps 6.032.8355 and all is well running, also if the characters and the touch keyboard are very very little.
You can resolve this issue using WVGAfix (search in blackstone forums) in order to change the screen resolution
to standard Vga (from 800x480 to 640x480).

Where did you get 7.450 as all the threads I found point to 7.910.

The name of the file is "TT_Nav_7.450.9028_repack3-qvga-black.cab", it is a file of 12060kb.
You can find some discussions on this version within Xda for general information, but relevant links for download does not work.
You can try the mule...

Hey bruram, if you downloaded the italian map from the TomTom site, which phone did you select at step 1 (Select Your Product) after you picked Navigator 7? I see about a dozen devices listed but of course none of them are the Touch HD. Does it even matter?

6.75 works ok on Tomtom 7.45

If you switch to landscape when the keyboard is up you get a much bigger and easier to use keyboard instead.

TomTom 7 Touch HD

Hi. Can someone tell me which version of tomtom navigator 7 is best suited for a Touch HD Blackstone please. I am currently using TTN 7.915.9196 which is working but the display is not correctly sized.

Maybe I'm being fussy because tomtom is working fine on my touch hd with TTN 7.915.9196, it's just that the car symbol and compass are very small compared to when I had tomtom on my tytn ii, in fact the compass symbol is illegible.

i'm using ttn7.917 (9186) without issue

7.910.9185 is what I am using. Ive tried the other newer versions but I like this version better

Can I jump on the band wagon, I am sure i have seen a message like this before ..
I love tomtom, is there a way to keep navigating while the screen is off
it seems as soon as the screen goes off so does the gps
I would love to be able to use it while out on my motorcycle, the headphones keep the directions comming and the phone in my pocket
