Update – HTC Desire Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update
In our commitment to providing you with the best user experience, we are pushing out a new firmware update to your phone. Your phone will receive a notification of this update when it is made available. Simply press OK to accept the update via a data connection such as Wi-Fi or GPRS/3G. After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Software Number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software information> Software number). The new software number after the update will be 1.15.405.4 for an HTC phone.
Haven't had it pushed out, but have done a manual update.
Went on fine.
Looks like us T-Mobile users are gonna have to wait ages.
I wanted to try an update before having the handset swapped for the pink hue issue. ffs
Yep, was notified there was an update available yesterday evening.
Downloaded and installed, can't notice any differences on the front-end, must have done something though!
Just noticed that there is another post RE this -

No, T-Mobile not done any updates as yet.
I've tried the Manual update and there is nothing as yet.

I received my handset from T-Mobile on friday with build 1.15.110.11
just held down the home button and there is a process running called 'Downloading Update'
I am guessing T-Mobile is pushing out an update right now?
any one else have this?
Edit: The process has now disappeared from the list of running programs and my build number hasn't changed. I wonder what it was?
It was probably a data update for any of the feeds - Could have been RSS/News/FriendStream stuff?

As far as I am aware updates for these applications don't run as an application.
I am fairly sure that this has something to do with the software update function.
Right now my evo is stuck on the original .1 software. When go to firmware update and htc software update it does not show that any updates are available. The only thing I have done to my phone is used unrevoked. What is the best way to get the .6 OTA update. I know I could go through the rooting process and do it that way, but I don't want to wipe my phone and would just like to do the regular update. Thanks for the help

Reboot and do not unrevoke and try to update.
If that doesn't work, *2

I just rebooted and went directly to software update and it still is not finding the .6 update. I work for sprint and I tried checking for an update on one of our demo phones and it did the same thing, so that rules out it being related to unrevoked.
If I call customer service, all their going to tell me to do is take it to a service center. Any more suggestions?

Would this wipe my phone back to factory?
When I go into Settings / About Phone / System updates, after a brief "Checking for available update" message the phone greets me with this:
Checking for updates is currently not available.
Try again later.

It doesn't say there are no updates, it says checking for them is not possible. Phone has been doing this since I bought it a month ago.
Is this a normal message that everyone else gets when there are no updates? Or should I be worried that my phone will not be able to check for and perform an OTA update for Froyo?
System version: Moto_Version.2.51.1.MB525.Retail.en.CEE
Carrier: T-Mobile Hungary
I have 2 defys. One running custom ROM and one stock (rooted with custom recovery). The stock one says the same message has yours. I called and asked T-Mo if this would affect me getting 2.2 if/when its released and was told not to worry about it. Not sure what causes it but I'm set up to receive an email notification if/when the upgrade is released so I'll find out then. Sorry I cant tell you why it does it but atleast you know you're not alone.
I havnt had any options to update my software come up on my G3 since owning it for a week, I see there was a update today but still no notification on my phone to update. Any other way I can get this update? Will plugging into a computer/pc suite update my phone? I need that improved battery life pronto! Thanks

That is the most recent update though isn't it?
It can't be cos this, phone has t been updated ever and a update came out today according to Google
V10j-505-02 is the latest from optus. Root shouldn't matter. I personally unfreeze the bloat and set the DPI back to 640 before updating. Not sure it's required though
I just got an S9 and have not been able to get it to apply all of the available updates. When I check for updates, it says that I have the latest one already. I tried the Smart Switch software and that says I am also up to date. I cleared the cache partition and then set the date to one day ahead and checked for updates. It took a few minutes checking but then it finished and said I was up to date.
My previous phone was an S8 and that phone had issues updating too. I had to go to ubreakifix to have them update the phone when Android 8 became available. After that update, my S8 never got an OTA again.
I fear that this S9 is having the same problem. I even activated the new S9 with a new sim card. I also verified that AT&T sees that I have an S9.
Anyone know what is going on? Anything else I can do to get it to update? I am currently on the previous version with baseband G960USQS3ARG8.

If you just got it, give it a week or so.
There was an S9+ that was added on another line within my account at the same time and it got all the updates right away. Hopefully time will fix mine but right now I doubt it.

Did you ever flash this to U1 Firmware? I had a similar issue when i decided to go back to U firmware. Ended up having to to revert back to an old version of U and then proceed with side loading updates from firmware science until the BR firmware (side note, the firmware i found on here to revert back to stock U did not have a direct upgrade path on Firmware science) then AT&T started updating as normal.
I have not flashed anything. This is new out of the box.

I would take it back to AT&T.
My previous phone did the same thing which is odd. I can't see why two consecutive new phones would not update for me. Is there a way I can download the update from AT&T and sideload it without having to reinstall everything?

Go to samsung.firmware.science and check.

I applied the next update from there and while it updated, it wiped my phone. now to spend a few hours again resetting everything up. i thought this wasn't supposed to wipe my phone?
Don't bother setting up your phone until you're all caught up with updates. I learned that the hard way. Just skip all the setup stuff after connecting to WiFi, then check for updates. Go back to the firmware science site if there are none available. I'm on 3BRJ6 with a November 1st security patch. This one was an OTA update after manually installing 3 or 4 from the firmware science site.
P.S. Under settings-about phone-software information do you show ATT/ATT/ATT at the bottom of the Service Provider SW ver.?

The problem with it resetting my phone is that if still continue to not receive ota updates directly, I'll never update again since I wouldn't want to reset again. As for the fw, I do see Att/att/att.
I updated up to the October security patch to see if it would offer the Nov security patch and my phone still won't offer ota updates.

Does your phone show the blue AT&T logo during boot up? Does it have all the AT&T bloatware?
Yup, it's an Att branded phone. I bought from Best buy. Came in Att box, has all the bloatware too.

Then I go back to my initial recommendation that you return it. I would also consider asking AT&T if there is some way to wipe your account data clean before activating a new phone and make sure you get a new sim card.
