hi guys,
i just checked out my ARTE160 battery. when i checked out the output voltage, i found that its 3.95~4.2 v when full charged. i jus checked this out with a multi meter. the battery is designed for 3.7v only, so does this mean there is a prob???
thx guys
I'm not a pro, but I think this means that everything is alright with the battery. I would rather worry if the voltage was below 3,7 V - that would definitely mean a problem.
well i find wat u say is logical but still im having some small prob in my phone.....
it keeps working well and suddenly the phone service alone wont work and gets hanged (means no calls and sms) after couple of mins mobile just researches the network and joins.
the prob is when this thing happens and someone calls me the call is ringing but i dont get any ring or alert in my mobile.......
also sms is not delivered kater but is lost completely......
i jus looked out somewhere that these probs may be due to battery........
Battery issue reply...........

I had to get a new battery and performed a hard-reset on my phone and all was well after that. make sure you have a back-up on your numbers....

I've just chcecked the output voltage of my battery - when 45% charged - the voltage was 3.82 V.
in my opinion, your problem has nothing to do with the battery. I had same problem that you described - I switched to WM6 from WM5 - it did the trick.
now it hangs very seldom.
I guess that would help you (at least if you're using WM5).
oh but im using 6.1 at present
its TOM'S ROM.....

*for battery issue;
buy a new battery and
charge <----- device must be off!...
when green led light shows, its done..
this should sort your battery issue..
* for issue with - ''suddenly the phone service alone wont work and gets hanged..''
try a hard reset, if it still happens, open the device - open through the back of the device and simply give it a clean, ensure all connections are connecting, in other words, scratch the pins inside device if they need it.. assemble correctly and hope this helps..
-use cotton buds, the ones you use to clean your ears with..
-use a pin/needle to scratch connections..
*sounds like a hardware issue, not rom issue so cleaning inside the device is recommended..
*I've fixed my p3300 plenty of times now by just simply cleaning inside it.
- including the ''not charging'' and ''no sim'' issue people have experienced..
Not charging
HI Geeks, I have a problem with my blackstone battery. It is getting charged only up to 50 to 55 percent. I kept on charger for one ful night. But no use. I am using official ROM. Can you suggest any solution for that?
Help PLZ
I tired both the charger and the USB cable. Still the problem remains.
A new problem
Now i am facing a new problem. When i switch off the Touch HD, it will not start. When i press the power button, it shows "Smart Mobility" then it will go off. I tried once and pressed the power button again. It lasted some more time, reaching to the HTC logo screen.
Then I Connect the phone using the usb cable to the desktop and press the power button. WOW. it started without any problem. Can you help me to get around this problem?

Does anyone have my issue ???
I am charging and charging and the indication shows as charging plus the percentage is increasing like normal. However, when I restart the system it shows more than charge percent. Most cases it shows 100%. For instance, show 82 % but after restart device shows 92 or 100%. Please help me experts. Thank a lot in advance for taking your time to reply

Hi all,
I've just spent a good amount of time browsing these forums - lots of good info here!
I've got my hands on a free i-mate jasjar from work as it is having battery issues and they just upgraded the user.
The issue is that it drains the battery in about 3-4 hours - thats with no sim in, phone / wireless / bluetooth turned off, very minimal use. We got a new battery for it in case that was the issue but it still loses it...
The other ones we have at work get at least a day / day and a half depending on usage.
I've reflashed it to the latest i-mate firmware (1.30.76 WWE) but stilll no luck....
Aside from sending it off for an expert to look at - does anyone have any suggestions on what i can do to diagnose / fix the problem?
Cheers
Sam
disable activesync checks
in wm5 activesync checks every 10 minutes or so for new data even if you do not have a server installed.... so.... here are the steps.....
with the device disconnected from the computer !
1. click "start"
2. click "programs"
3. click "activesync"
4. right soft button "menu"
5. click "add server to source"
6. fill in "1" in every field clicking "next" as you go through the proccess! (or any other fake data you want)
when you get to choosing what to sync, uncheck everything and click "finish"
7. right soft button "menu" again, now you'll have "schedule" lit
8. click "schedule"
9. change both drop down menus to "manually" and uncheck s"end outgoing items immediately"
10. click "ok"
11. right soft button "menu" again
12. click "options"
13. select the "exchange server", click "delete" and "yes"
14. click "ok"
YOUR DONE !
the device should last a lot longer !
have fun !
p.s.
don't forget to disable IR so the device won't try syncing with the sun ....
Great - I've set it up and will test it out over today - thanks for the reply
Make sure your infra red is also off, receive all beams is unticked.
Presumably you're not using any over clocking software? They disable the idle mode detection so make the battery less efficient, even at slow clocked speeds.
V
Infrared is off, currently its got fresh firmware as off yesterday, charged overnight - no sim, every conceivable option turned off, no extra s/w installed.
Since 9am its now down to 85% - roughly using 10% per hour with zero use....
I have the Same Issue ,the battey use very fast .
at the first I think may be is the net lock make that, But yesterday ,I try to use the unlock tools ,but same as it.
the charge complete. close all function ,can't use more than 8 hour's.
I've the same issue,...change a batery with a new one, BUT when it goes les than 70% all the problem start, loose the phone signal, shot down....I've a official Qtek 9000 ROM of febr. '06

I think That's the Radio or Hard device error.
If other Rom have not This issue. I think that's this rom make it .
There are a number of threads regarding batteries and new ROM versions and I think the concensus is that its the battery and it is just coincidence about the new ROM.
I have had my device for about 8 months and it has behaved well until a few weeks ago when it started to shut-down at 70-80% battery. The shutdown only occured when I had a heavy drain on the device e.g. when using GPRS or phone and I started to think that the battery was dying and the heavy current drawn by the radio caused the battery voltage to drop below a sustainable threshold for powering the device - hence the shutdown. £20 later I have a new battery (from eBay) and can go 1-2 days without charging. I am leaving the old battery on charge for several days to see if it can be salvaged

Thank you help, But I return to the old version ROM. the batteries is OK. I don't know how to explain them
Try measuring the power consumption with acbPowerMeter and post your results so that we can see your device indeed has problems or not. See my related articles for more info (cross-posted to the General forum in here).
My Universal power consumption
With BT on and Wifi off power is at 642 mA...
Is it bad or good?

What that's mean?
it means that the device has bt turned of, and also wifi turned of and acbmeter indicates a power consumption of 642
I also seem to have started incurring a problem with battery, it is shutting down the device at 50%, and yes there was a slight draing GPRS and Push Email running, and trying to make a phone call.
It only really happened today, and am at a loss as to the cause. I would guess, the battery is 1 year old and probably needs replacing.
i have been using two different 3.2 roms ltcmdr, then jw's for a while now and no problems until today.
I suspect its the age of the battery. I am in the process of trying to suck the battery down as far as I can, then recharge it.
It appears to do a complete shutdown every 2% from 50% to 40%, I am now trying to get it to less than 40%.
My original battery lasted me for about 8 months when I started experiencing the shutdown / hanging problem whenever the charge would drop to 35%. I replaced the battery with a new original battery and all went okay. Unfortunately my second battery is only 5 months old and I have started experiencing the same problem again although this time the problem is occurring at a charge level of 15%. When the battery reaches this level and I try to connect GPRs or make or receive a call the unit hangs. If I try to soft reset I cannot do so till I connect the external charger.
I think such a low battery life is simply unacceptable.
Regards
Ever wonder how a battery tells the system that it is full and to stop charging?
If you get a new battery, take the old one down to somewhere below 100% -then install a new ROM and see what the battery meter reads after the hard reset.
The system must recognize a point which would be monitored and recognized as "full battery". When installing new ROM's, the system takes the battery power at the time of the install as 100%. This is why it is reiterated in almost all ROM upgrade instructions:
"Your device battery must be fully charged before installing this ROM".
However, I'm not so keen as to have a fix; but I've noticed that when the battery is fully charged and the device is then unplugged, turned on and then off, then plugged back in...it seems to charge alot longer than what I would expect necessary to reach 100% once again.

Will still be able to browse with my device? thx
Hey,
I don't have any charger, so I have been always charging my Artemis via USB.
A couple of days ago it stopped charging. It happened after I discharged it to a very low level.
When I plug in the USB cable, the amber (or the orange) LED starts to blink. I can see the icon that says that the cable (which is ok) is plugged in, but the battery level is dropping instead of increasing.
I've tried even hard reset.
I haven't tried with another battery, but I've tried to charge the battery with a charger made by myself. It was OK - PDA is working, but I can't still charge it normal way.
Any ideas?
Blinking amber
I have the same problem on my htc p3300, and when i used batti 2.4 i saw that the battery temperature is 432675.5 etc something fake temerature. This is the reason, why my pda unable to charge my battery. If you set your pda in bootloader mode, it will charge your battery!. After 3 or more times i charged it in bootloader mode somethimes the battery temp sensor works normally, and the charge is working as well. Sometimes not.
Bat you can charge your battery allways in bootloader mode.
Sorry for my English.
Try it!
Good luck!
So it's a temp sensor problem? I've had the same problem with my SPV 650 a few times. Hopefully it was never permanent!
hey
Do you know how fix this problem ? Is there problem with battery or with mainboard ? I change rom, radio, battery, charger. If bootloader mode is the best solution?
I wait for answer and your ideas
Hi.
I have Prophet with the same problem. It doesn't charge batt, doesn't turn on - clouds then white screen. And it has happened after deep discharge.
Trying "bootloader mode"
i have the same problem with my dopod p800w. the device work only when it pluged, even when the battery is full (in another device) the notification message appear and it turn off ! Anyone can help me ? Sorry for my English !
im suffering from this problem
any solution?
i am about to purchase a new battery however.. i dont think that would solve the problem..
how do you enter bootloader menu?
Hi,
Yesterday I came across strange issue. In WinMo, when the phone was off it was charging normally untill the battery was fully charged...
After Flashing Android to NAND I can not do that. It seems to be charging (orange LED is on) for about 10 sec. and than the Display blinks with white light and the phone dies completely.
The only thing you can do after that is to pull out the battery and put it back. Than you can turn the phone on and charge as usually.
What is that issues origin? Battery driver? Or another thingie in Firmware? It seems to be quite strange, that it lights the display even with the phone being off...

My Kaiser does the exact same thing, and what it is, is for some reason the phone is booting back up. I came across this the other day, and my phone did the exact same thing described, and not sure what I did, but I managed to turn on the screen and Android was booted up to the lock screen.
It's even done it when I plug the phone into A/C power without the battery even connected.
so here is why it happens, basicly what would happen is in WinMo when the phone would turn off and boot into a charge loop and it would charge and shut off when finished our kernel doesnt have this built into it so it just boots like normal when power is applied

yup... happens to all of us, its not a big deal... there are a lot of worse problems devs are trying to solve... maybe whn they reach a point where the kernel is more stable they should pay attention to the details like this (and the camera driver, camcoder... etc)

Well that answers my question... Yah knew it was something inside the kernel, just didn't know if it was a bug, or something that wasn't implemented yet.
Of course this is low priority task but I just wanted to have that confirmed to know, that my oldie holdie is not broken or what
Quick question:
How old is your kaiser and/or battery ?
About 5 years with original battery
Sent from my Full Android on Kaiser using XDA App
It used to be that if Linux NBH was flashed, the phone wouldn't charge at all when off. Then somebody (dzo I believe) added code to the kernel so that the phone turns on when it is plugged in, so that it will charge. That used to work, with a full complete boot. Now, as you say, the phone tries to wake up but doesn't really make it. Maybe we should look into that, we should be able to fix that, maybe by looking carefully at the git logs for the past six months or so.
There are bigger problems, like data reliability, but if somebody wants a problem in the kernel that they can study and perhaps fix, this is a good one to start with.
To correctly charge the battery system need to be on so i can do this:
start kernel
in initrd:
if it found the power connected then the phone wait for power button (trying the sleep mode)
else
start the system
i need some testing to do it.
Windows do quite the same thing.

If only the real code was as easy as the pseudocode =)
I've bought an LG G3 today. Everything worked fine at first, but then when I restarted it for the first time this happened:
Device boots
Lockscreen is visible
Asks for pincode -> I enter correct pin
Few seconds later screen turns black..
After the screen turns black, the only thing I can do is remove battery and try to boot again. Or plug it in to the charger.
If I plug it in to the charger it shows a battery icon in the middle of the screen and when I press the power button it boots, and does not shut down after it's fully booted.
I've read the other shutdown thread but it looks like that is not entirely the same issue I'm facing?
Have you customized anything? Sounds to me like either a bad battery or a faulty device. Take it back to the store.

It's rooted with TowelRoot and exposed installed, just installed - nothing changed yet. Today I was not able to reproduce the issue when rebooting. Although it did shutdown when I just tapped send in the default messaging app.. Couldn't get it back on without plugging it in to the charger. Battery level was around 25%.. Removing the battery also does the trick.. So it looks like it totally freezes..
When I got the device, I immediately started configuring and testing it and only charged fully when battery level was +- 25% (started out at 45%).

Hey all. I made a recovery flash, and for some reason im not able to start the device. Is very hot, like chargin (but it's not), I press hole button and at 8 seg of press ir vibrate 1 time, ando do nothing more...
My computer dont recognize it so i cant adb it
SOLVED.
Seems there is a bug. When you power off and connect the watch to charge it, it starts the charging screen. If you start the device connected and with this screen, enter in a loop black screen draining battery. Until the battery is not at 0% the watch don't start.
I can confirm there is some kind of bug when you are charging your SW3, I did as you said and worked for me. now my SW3 is working again! thanks!
