Account Currently Disabled? - About xda-developers.com

I had seen few users with "Account Currently Disabled" label which is not "banned". I am wondering if "Account Currently Disabled" is disabled by Mod/Admin or by the user himself.
.. and what is/are differences between Disabled and Banned account?
Thanks.

"Account Currently Disabled" is the same as "Banned", the admin's just updated the terminology to avoid a possible legal ramifications.
Ta,
Dave

Is there a way to find out y a guy was "Account currently disabled"ed?? But i doubt it.
Just out of curiosity....maybe a bit too much
Cos i came across one such acc who almost a year back was trolling...and getting on my nerves.
Anyway some1 banned can just create another account and enter xda again right?

No we don't share details of why someone was banned.
They can, but we have tools for checking for duplicate accounts.
Dave

Is a banned account just temporary or it is permanent?

That depends on the severity of the offence and the history of the user in question...

To answer your previous question before you're edit, that "tool" is actually a vast number of different tools from many different locations and considering the amount of posts that get made the amount that remain visible for any length of time is remarkably small.
One senior mod alone wiped out 40 accounts and jeebus only knows how many threads in just one hour this weekend. What you guys actually see isn't even a tenth of it so I think we're doing pretty well considering.

I didn't get an invite (that I know of, anyway). I just tried to +1 something & it asked me to sign in with my Google account. That was at least a month ago. I haven't used it since though, just thought I'd get my foot in the door. I'm not big on social networking - the only thing I use is Facebook, and I only check that once a week.

Thanks, but I have one
That's what I was saying, I don't think I've ever gotten an invite, but it just let me sign in. This was a while back, so I don't know if it was open to everyone or if I'm just special. After signing in with my Google account, I had to answer some questions, and voila - Google + account. I do remember that directly after signing in, I got a notification that this guy I went to NC State with added me or whatever, so maybe he sent me an invitation or something?
Unless you're saying that you want an invite? I don't think that's what you're saying, but it's late and I'm braindead from work. I tend to get delirious when I haven't slept

There are some aspects of it that look like Facebook.
However, there are some aspects of Facebook that looked like Myspace.
All websites of social networking nature have similar aspects.
In fact, most websites in general have similar aspects.
There are plenty of things about Google+ that make it quite different.

As far as I can tell, the 30 post limit is not mentioned anywhere. That's why I came to this thread.

XDA Hacked?

I have started getting phishing emails to the unique email address I supplied when I created my account here. I have seen this in the past when after SquareEnix and Garlic Jim's had their systems hacked.
I have been getting a lot of emails as well.
Is your email the same as your username?

May I ask what kind of emails you are receiving? Like, what are they saying?
Also, make sure that the URL for these forums are forum.xda-developers.com. If it's different to that, it's possible you could be on a clone site, as we've seen plenty of them pop up over the time.

Have a look here for some information regarding plus addressing with Gmail along with using dots in the username part of the address. Regardless of the method used, you can create a filter to auto-delete the specific offending address if its compromised; and, you know the where it was obtained if you use one or both of the methods to register a different e-mail at each Web site.

Worked fine for me when I just checked your profile and history and posts. It may have been a temporary issue.
I don't believe XDA has been hacked. I think it is more likely that a few people accidentally posted their email address in the clear and a screen scraper bot picked them up, or maybe they didn't realize their email contact info was shared through their profile.

If they do it for you, I understand charging for the service... But to sell what I am positive is software that they did not develop, was built to be free, nor do they have any rights to sell, is wrong and something should be done. This site in question is an obvious scam to get money from stupid/uninformed people.

Well. I dunno what we can do about this but tell as many people as possible. The sad thing is, they offer such a "low" price that people cant resist. I dont even think its real software at all.
Exactly. Go look at their disclaimer. It's bull****!

For start, you could remove the link so less people will click on it. Xda is well positioned on google and linking sth to da means higher ranking also

For start, you could remove the link so less people will click on it. Xda is well positioned on google and linking sth to da means higher ranking also

That's total bull crap it even says in the terms of use that it might not work
Sent from my d710 using xda premium
"125 ways to make money" = find 125 suckers to pay us $4.99 for a prerooted tar file to flash in odin, and/or a oneclick. All the files came from here or sxtp forums. just the unprofessional poorly translated site should scream "STAY THE FORK AWAY!" to anyone with 1 braincell left between their ears
I like to break stuff!
