Of course someone is selling root... I knew it was coming. Is there anything we can do to have pay for root sites taken down?
Are you serious!? I can't believe that. I hope no one falls for that. Thanks for the heads up though.

I don't know if it helps but I reported the web site to google as a possible fake/scamming site.
Plus the FB link isn't a face book link. just a dead web page. www h com
I'm not going to put in the link but that's what you get when you click on the "like us on FB banner"

There are phone flashing shops that charge for root and custom ROM flashing, in my opinion they are overpriced scams that target the inexperienced and those that are afraid of bricking or just do not have the time to do it themselves.

If they do it for you, I understand charging for the service... But to sell what I am positive is software that they did not develop, was built to be free, nor do they have any rights to sell, is wrong and something should be done. This site in question is an obvious scam to get money from stupid/uninformed people.

Well. I dunno what we can do about this but tell as many people as possible. The sad thing is, they offer such a "low" price that people cant resist. I dont even think its real software at all.
Exactly. Go look at their disclaimer. It's bull****!

For start, you could remove the link so less people will click on it. Xda is well positioned on google and linking sth to da means higher ranking also
Nothing can be done for real. Same as tons of "we'll scan and clean your PC" sites.

No. What he means is you posting a link on a reputable site improves their search engine rankings. This page doesn't have to show in the process.

So my buddy is starting a computer/networking/technology consulting/repair business and he's having trouble thinking of a catchy website/URL...He doesn't even have a name of the company yet - it's still in start up mode. (So trying to think of a good company name pretty much, that we can use for a url too).
Sorry if this is completely not wanted here or if it pisses someone off - I apologize in advance. I just know there is some pretty creative people in the evo community and I would like to know if you guys have any cool ideas.
He's going to be an on-site, in-home and remote based business.
Once again, I apologize if I have wasted anyones time reading this - just hoping to get some cool ideas.
Let's dig deep into those evo brains!

Also, if he's really, truly serious about this business, I'd highly recommend buying a domain name at the very least. If he can't be bothered to put in $10-$15/year for a domain for a tech business, then he needs to rethink some things.

I'm willing to be corrected here, but as far as I can tell, everyone wants to return to stock before seeking Sprint's help.
If this is correct, does that not make all the anti-cloning types (especially, say, my account to my account with my phone to my phone) huge hypocrites, right?
I've already noted that the admins decide which things to delete or not, based on whim.
There's a document a ways back that you could print out and take to sprint, and they would have to fix your phone rooted or not. Sprint really doesn't care if your rooted. Some people are a tad paranoid about it though. Lemme see if I can dig it up

Rooting is not illegal, cloning is and could get the xda in legal trouble if they allowed it to be discussed. Before you reply, let me find some threads where this was discussed extensively. I'll post them in a few min.

Maybe more to do with the FBI covering it's ass so they don't get caught.

I know similar questions have been asked before and information won't be easy to obtain from anyone regarding this but I know so many poeple have the knowledge to answer. I obviously don't want to use a subscription service but here is my dilemma.
Yes I am trying to spy, however I own both devices and pay for the entire bill just granting the phone for use as is to my current girlfriend, I'm not accusing her of cheating however she is hiding something and its all within the texts she deletes, those texts are transmitted to and from the device I allow her to use, just looking for any options I have aside from shelling out hundreds or thousands on something that can be easily accomplished, however if the information is sensitive I don't want it uploaded to the web, just more of a forward type of thing I suppose but definately hidden from her view, she isn't tech savvy, but our evos are both rooted and custom Rom etc. If anyone could help me with this, that would be super. App / software / source / service doesn't matter to me.
cool story bro, get a new girlfriend and leave the spying to the spy's. if you do not trust her, let her go.

Hit the nail on the head. If you know she is cheating get rid of her. Why would you want to put yourself through that BS only to get mad at her for something you already know. Once a cheat always a cheat. What are you going to do anyways after you confirm and confront?

Could he? He does own the phones and the contract is in his name. Should be able to do whatever he wants with the phone he's "lent" out, right?
A buddy of mine suspected his wife was cheating and she wouldn't admit to it. He decided to sift through her emails. He found she was, had proof, divorced her and is now happily married to a faithful woman. Just sayin.....had he not done that he would be far worse off. There's definately better ways to do it.....but every relationship and every person is different right?
That's weird, I thought he was asking for help with finding an app. Guess I missed the part where he asked for a bunch of relationship advice....
