Its still closed, invite-only beta.
I didn't get an invite (that I know of, anyway). I just tried to +1 something & it asked me to sign in with my Google account. That was at least a month ago. I haven't used it since though, just thought I'd get my foot in the door. I'm not big on social networking - the only thing I use is Facebook, and I only check that once a week.

After signing in with my Google account, I had to answer some questions, and voila - Google + account. I do remember that directly after signing in, I got a notification that this guy I went to NC State with added me or whatever, so maybe he sent me an invitation or something?

Its either that he invited you or that you were apart of the invites from Google.

There are some aspects of it that look like Facebook.
However, there are some aspects of Facebook that looked like Myspace.
All websites of social networking nature have similar aspects.
In fact, most websites in general have similar aspects.
There are plenty of things about Google+ that make it quite different.
Been trying for weeks to get an invite and never thought of using xda. One would be greatly appreciated if anyone has one going spare. Many thanks in advance [email protected]

Fair question, quietpopcorn, and I understand why you might ask.
I picked this phone primarily because of it's screen size. After bringing it home,
I was disappointed with most of the app's installed. So I couldn't wait to delete them. That seemingly simple task brought me here. Now, having been a s/w developer for many years, I'm excited to start writing apps that do not require a "Market" account, and can be written using most any *NIX platform.
How would this be possible, you may ask? Because I'm well into the completion of a BSD ROM. I chose BSD, because of it's ability to run BSD applications, as well as Linux, w/o any trouble to speak of.
Hope that might clear things up a bit.

You may also want to consider Tapatalk app. Tapatalk.com is where you can look at the info. Its a paid app but its cheap. Also it will allow you to view tons of different forums. Having a Gmail account is actually very beneficial, Google email is actually bad ass. Then you can use gtalk which is sick. So many things that you can gain from signing up. To boot its free

I lurk on these forums a lot, never post but decided to post on this one.
You do know that gmail is free, correct? XDA is a great community and as you can see very helpful, but shouldn't be abused.
I'm fairly certain you know that gmail is free and either
1)Don't want to sign up for a gmail account that you'll never use and give all your information to "the man".
False information (first/last name) works well last I knew.
2)Don't want to "waste time" signing up for that, and instead would prefer to waste other people's time while they do your work for you.
I'm bothered because in my opinion you're abusing the helpfulness of XDA. If all the users did this "I don't want to register, can you just do all this stuff for me?" XDA wouldn't be a place where anyone wants to go, because it's simply people begging for help on the simplest of tasks.
To solve this problem I would simply go to gmail.com, sign up for an account, and get your own apps off the market. You were lucky that you found a helpful person that got you what you wanted but if XDA were full of people like you no one would come here. Luckily most posts are full of helpful contributions.
I'm not saying don't ask for help on something, but I'd say a good number to shoot for would be to respond helpfully to 10 posts for every 1 post you ask for help. And if it's something you're more than capable of doing yourself, just do it. Don't waste other people's time, it's just selfish.

NP. Here to help with what I can when I can. The XDA community has helped me tons. I have 6 different forums going ATM with Tapatalk. One mainly for my car. So it has a ton of different options.

Okay, everybody who PM'ed me should be able to get in... now spread the love! Here's how i did it: Go to the Circles page, create a new circle and start adding people. Then, go to your stream and choose to share with people in the circle you just created. Make sure you click the button to email the people not yet using Google+. You should be good then. I think you only can add Gmail accounts.
If anyone has any love to share I'd like one.

I know similar questions have been asked before and information won't be easy to obtain from anyone regarding this but I know so many poeple have the knowledge to answer. I obviously don't want to use a subscription service but here is my dilemma.
Yes I am trying to spy, however I own both devices and pay for the entire bill just granting the phone for use as is to my current girlfriend, I'm not accusing her of cheating however she is hiding something and its all within the texts she deletes, those texts are transmitted to and from the device I allow her to use, just looking for any options I have aside from shelling out hundreds or thousands on something that can be easily accomplished, however if the information is sensitive I don't want it uploaded to the web, just more of a forward type of thing I suppose but definately hidden from her view, she isn't tech savvy, but our evos are both rooted and custom Rom etc. If anyone could help me with this, that would be super. App / software / source / service doesn't matter to me.

A buddy of mine suspected his wife was cheating and she wouldn't admit to it. He decided to sift through her emails. No, you cant. Sprint does not make those available online.
When I check most plps public profile. Most all have Nirose as a recent viewer.
Who is he? Admin/Mod?

LOL, that is so wierd you said that Indrid. As I was just wondering the same thing today. I was checking out a few peoples info and I noticed the same thing. who is this nirose guy? So I looked him up and he has zero posts. Nor is he listed as a moderator. I do remember though that he was the first person who visited my page. I wonder if its like a tom from myspace thing. Either way kinda creepy.

LOL! He won't do it. He likes to stay mysterious. Check out my page without even introducing yourself, ill show him. Im going to pm him and ask if he wants to flash the brand new ics 4.0.3 ROM that just came out. Then give him the link to the internatoinal version.

Remarqued the same thing.
And the most curious is not that he had visited a lot of profiles (he does what he wants OR more likely he is a bot), but that without any post (so no reason a priori to check his profile) his profile has more than 11 000 visites
(Yep I'm adding somes with this link, and somes of us are curious, but this number seems very hight though)
Probably an Apple developer looking for ideas to steal.

Think about it, guys...
He(or she)'s got to be either a Mod or a troll/flamer that uses "nirose" as a throwaway account so he can check you out without you being able to link his curiosity to any "regular" user. So, it could be anyone, really: the fact that he has zero posts only means that he does all of his/her "real postings" under the true account.
(At least, that's my interpretation of the whole thing.)

i've not been active until just now since the board is all open for guests. i love the forums and have always been here just not logged in.
The profile thing was just a test bot wandering around profiles a long time ago. No spam and harm intended. it isn't active anymore.
