Well get 2GB LOL! No really you can also load it using an RUU. If you don't have an empty one I'll upload one for you tomorrow. Sorry can't do it tonight my DSL keeps going down.
yesterday i ended up just flashing the bell rom with the new radio and it worked but thanks anyway for your time

It should.
yes it should.
EASY WAY TO FLASH VIA SD CARD:
1) Download radio.
2) Rename NBH files to say VOGUIMG.nbh
3) Put phone into bootloader mode and it should do it on its own.
4) Reboot the phone. It should say 3.xx on startup.
I have the vzw 3.37 radio and i want to upgrade to 3.42 or whatever is the newest one. Can i use the radio file in a RUU and flash it like that? IF i can will it override my WM or anything other than the radio? Thanks.

Yes, you can do it via RUU. Like any radio upgrade, it will not touch the OS and you will not loose anything. Keep in mind that the phone needs to be SuperCID unlocked or else you will not be able to flash it. (different from HardSPL unlock)
thanks for replying. Im new to flashing. Can you point me in the right direction in terms of supercid?
or the easier way.
download it in the rru, there should be an nbh file.
USE A 2GB MEMORY CARD OR LESS
then just rename the nbh file as "VOGUIMG.nbh" or "VOGUIMG" and throw it into bootloader and it should flash.

radios wont be a problem as they are updated with every official update.. and i couldnt find any tmobile splash screen.. but i make many but i dont have the rite pic to make any splash
I have a brand new T mobile branded DHD. I've only rooted, S OFF, ENG S OFF and SimUnocked it. tell me how to do a stock radio and i can help
thanks for your replies, i was hoping not to use the OTA as i will have to downgrade again. If you know if the OTA will also replace my splash screen with the original then i may do it.
@Rangnarok - could you tell me what the software version and baseband version are in setting>about phone.,I dont think you can extract a radio from the phone. Im not sure how you would extract the splash also. I know there are tools to flash them, but im not back home until tomorrow so i will have a look and if i can find a safe easy way i will PM you... thanks
Ok, to make sure I have what you need, I confirm again that, the Phone is new. I only Rooted. S-OFF and ENG S-OFF. It has a T-mobile splash screen, CID is TMOB005 at the moment.
Android version: 2.2
Baseband: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Build number: 1.39.110.1 CL278886
I have made a back-up ROm, using ClockWorkMod, so I am not sure if this is what you are looking for?
I am researching to flashing a custom ROM on it. So hopefully I can help you before doing so
many thanks for the information, it was exactly what i was looking for, i have a backup of the stock rom that came with my phone, it just that it doesnt contain the radio, now i know the one it shipped with i can download it.
will get back to you on the splash screen, flashing a custom rom does not change this so have fun flashing.
I would reccomend trying the cyanogenMod 7 Rom, it has great customizable features, and once you get used to not having sense there will be no going back. The only thing i would look out for is i have noticed that GPS can be hit and miss with different roms, if you use it alot like i do then try using it before you spend too much time with one rom.
cheers
I have had a look inside the backup folder. It has
boot.img
system.img
etc
but nothing that indicates a radio back up. Is this already included in some file in the folder?
radio is not backed up. But there is a thread in dev that has a link to download different radio versions, i just wasnt sure which one came with a stock T-mobile phone.
There is a T-Mobile DE RUU available, you can download that, and get rom.zip from it. Then you can find splash1.img inside the rom.zip. I am pretty sure that T-Mobile DE's and UK's splashes are similar.
thanks for that jkoljo. I should have thought that i could get it from any t-mobile rom as long as the res is the same.
Been meaning to ask you, you quote "It will create a backup of your phone partition 7 (radio config) to the root of your sdcard, I recommend to keep that somewhere really safe!" from your radio tool thread. Does this mean the whole original radio is backed up and i can restore it from that?
Nope, it is not the radio, just radio configuration partition. The radio configuration has lots of important system values in it. Radio reads values from that config partition, and then acts accordingly. Radio is an important part of the system, and it does more than you could imagine

to make a long story short, whilst converting my M8 to GPE I forgot to remove the radio img...
By any chance would anyone have the VODAP001 radio or a radio thats compatible with it? I need it urgently as I currently have no reception which is obviously not a good thing...
UPDATE
I've got it working... but with some sort of magic aha.

Okay this is really weird... I just flashed a random Telstra radio from the Australia M8 thread and on first boot up it didn't work still...
So I put it into fastboot again to try another radio, the radio for some strange reason failed to work so I replaced the radio img in the Telstra.zip that's on my computer with the radio I wanted to flash so I can flash it in recovery.
In order to push the newly created zip to my phone, I needed to reboot it back into ADB mode which I did and for some strange reason, reception is working!
It sucks that I can't give an exact solution but here's the information I have on my phone after the reception started working:
CID - 11111111
RADIO - 1.14.2133156.UA13G
If anyone wants additional info I can easily give on request but those (I think) are the relevant factors.

Those are the full OTA .zip files, can just extract the radio.img from it and go on.

I downloaded it as well to make sure everything is good with the .zip files. Make sure it open it with a proper zip program, 7zip or winrar or something. I see that it doesn't want to extract with the windows explorer as default.

Vodafone UK? What was the version number you were on if you can remember...? 1.54.161.5 / 10 ? Or earlier version?

I'm actually from Voda Australia but due to prior experience I think a Vodafone UK radio would work as the CID number is exactly the same...
I think it's 1.54 from memory as well...

Yeah lol. Thanks for the help anyway man!
Hey guys,
I converted my M8 to GPE a few months ago and everything has been working fine, but lately I have noticed that my data connection is getting worse. Has anyone else noticed this? Or does anyone have any suggestions at a possible fix?
Thanks!
The way that sense Roms read out signal is always over exaggerated GPE actually reports it correctly

It's not really what it is showing that I am worried about. It's that a place I usually got a signal no problem is not getting a signal anymore.

Do I need to root my phone again to do that? I installed a Non-Rooted RUU when I did the conversion. Sorry I am pretty new to a lot of this stuff.
Also do I need to have SuperCID on it to do this even though I am installing the radio for carrier that it came from?
Need S-OFF I believe.
Anyone?

If you still have the Bell CID and flash the Bell radio, then no, you don't need to SuperCID.

Well when I converted to GPE I switched to GOOGL001 CID as was explained in the video I used to convert. Will that affect anything?

In that case, you may need SuperCID to flash the Bell radio.
Just a stupid suggestion, have you tried deleting cache partition via recovery?
That has mostly fixed minor bugs for me.

I did try doing that and it still seems to do the same thing.
Does anyone know where a good place to get the Bell radio.img from?
