I have a brand new T mobile branded DHD. I've only rooted, S OFF, ENG S OFF and SimUnocked it. tell me how to do a stock radio and i can help

thanks for your replies, i was hoping not to use the OTA as i will have to downgrade again. If you know if the OTA will also replace my splash screen with the original then i may do it.
@Rangnarok - could you tell me what the software version and baseband version are in setting>about phone.,I dont think you can extract a radio from the phone. Im not sure how you would extract the splash also. I know there are tools to flash them, but im not back home until tomorrow so i will have a look and if i can find a safe easy way i will PM you... thanks

Ok, to make sure I have what you need, I confirm again that, the Phone is new. I only Rooted. S-OFF and ENG S-OFF. It has a T-mobile splash screen, CID is TMOB005 at the moment.
Android version: 2.2
Baseband: 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M
Build number: 1.39.110.1 CL278886
I have made a back-up ROm, using ClockWorkMod, so I am not sure if this is what you are looking for?
I am researching to flashing a custom ROM on it. So hopefully I can help you before doing so

many thanks for the information, it was exactly what i was looking for, i have a backup of the stock rom that came with my phone, it just that it doesnt contain the radio, now i know the one it shipped with i can download it.
will get back to you on the splash screen, flashing a custom rom does not change this so have fun flashing.
I would reccomend trying the cyanogenMod 7 Rom, it has great customizable features, and once you get used to not having sense there will be no going back. The only thing i would look out for is i have noticed that GPS can be hit and miss with different roms, if you use it alot like i do then try using it before you spend too much time with one rom.
cheers

I have had a look inside the backup folder. It has
boot.img
system.img
etc
but nothing that indicates a radio back up. Is this already included in some file in the folder?

radio is not backed up. But there is a thread in dev that has a link to download different radio versions, i just wasnt sure which one came with a stock T-mobile phone.

There is a T-Mobile DE RUU available, you can download that, and get rom.zip from it. Then you can find splash1.img inside the rom.zip. I am pretty sure that T-Mobile DE's and UK's splashes are similar.

thanks for that jkoljo. I should have thought that i could get it from any t-mobile rom as long as the res is the same.
Been meaning to ask you, you quote "It will create a backup of your phone partition 7 (radio config) to the root of your sdcard, I recommend to keep that somewhere really safe!" from your radio tool thread. Does this mean the whole original radio is backed up and i can restore it from that?

Nope, it is not the radio, just radio configuration partition. The radio configuration has lots of important system values in it. Radio reads values from that config partition, and then acts accordingly. Radio is an important part of the system, and it does more than you could imagine

[Q] do original RUUs restore recovery image?

Hi all, would like to know if, after installing a custom ROM, if i use a RUU will the recovery image be restored to default?
Thanks in advance!
Yes it Will
Yay! thank you! so just using the RUUs i will totally reset my desire, so HTC won't be able to tell if it's been rooted before?
Don't know whether they can't tell, whether they look if they've no need to I don't know...so long as it's on a stock ROM I don't think they'd check

What is a RUU and how can I do it, as I'm having the same problem.
I rooted to allow Titanium Backup to have root after using unrevoked but wasn’t aware that meant I also had a custom rom installed now.
I’ve been told I need to RUU as well.
RUU = ROM Upgrade Utility
It's the official way of flashing a ROM. Each phone has a software version running on it when you first get it and you should make a note of the one on yours before doing anything root-related for the very reason that if something goes wrong you can revert back to stock. Not all versions are available, e.g. there are no Orange RUUs about, but the ones that are can be found here:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Bravo
If you didn't happen to make a note of yours then it's hard to say what it came with. If you've only rooted and NOT flashed a new ROM yet then if you go to Settings>About phone>Software information and post the software version we might be able to help
Thanks for all the information it helps fill in some blanks.
I dont think I have put a different rom on it, I only rooted using revoked- does that mean it has a different rom now?
and my settings show
Android 2.2
Baseband version 32.46.00.32U_5.10.05.17_2
Kernel version 2.6.32.15-gd96f2c0 [email protected] #1
Build number 2.12.110.2 CL232610 release-keys
Software number 2.12.110.2
on a side note the link you posted - what do the numbers correspond to, my Kernel or build
Right you're on a T-Mobile FroYo ROM but the issue is there isn't that versions RUU available...how long have you had your Desire?
Damm.
I got mine in April this year, why do you ask.
Can I not use RUU_Bravo_Froyo_TMO_AT_2.12.112.1_Radio_32.46.00.32U_5.10.05.17_2_release_143754_signed.exe?
You CAN use that but it's the Austrian one...the reason I ask is to find out the screen type, you should be on an AMOLED screen so you can flash the older 1.21.110.4 RUU if you need to - you'll need a gold card to do it, though, I believe
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127570_signed.exe
If I do flash the older 1.21.110.4 version, are there any drawbacks, or will I just be able to update through OTA updates that will then be available to me through T-mobile to get me back to normal?
Also is there a best way to do this RUU as I have seen a few guides, can you recommend any to follow.
The way I'd do it is:
1. Download that RUU
2. Have gold card in your phone and HTC Sync installed on your PC
3. Connect phone to PC and select 'HTC Sync' from the options on the phone
4. Once HTC Sync on the PC shows connected, run the RUU
5. All being correct it'll flash the ROM
6. Assuming it's worked, you should get the OTA updates again as you did before
Replying on here and androidforums is getting confusing!!!
Thanks for all the help and I hope those instructions were meant for me and not some one else
Maybe you have to downgrade your hboot to 0.75.

Yes they're for you but there's someone on androidforums with EXACTLY the same issue - you sure you're not the same person??
Nope thats not me
I followed all the procedures. But the RUU gave me an error after a few minutes saying 'Error 140 Bootloader version error'.
What does that mean and how can I fix it.
Which RUU are you trying to use? And which HBOOT are you on now?
Im trying to use the one you recommended above RUU_Bravo_TMO_UK_1.21.110.4_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_127570_signed.exe
Bootloader version I found out by holding the back key and power button to swithc on, it says HBOOT - 0.93.0001

[Q] Stock RUU for Virgin Mobile UK

Hi all,
Been searching and looking for ages and I can't find a stock RUU for my Desire (Virgin Mobile UK) - I know on startup it says "T-Mobile" on the lockscreen and Virgin share the T-Mobile network, so I wonder whether it's the same.
I've rooted and s-off'ed and I'm about to flash a custom ROM but want to have a backup ready if I ever want to go back to stock again. If anyone knows where I can find such a thing it'd be greatly appreciated! (I've looked at the website (Shipped Roms) everyone links to with the RUU's on, none match my software version - below)
Build number - 2.22.351.3 CL283825 release-keys
Thanks in advance!
Smii
Edit: Won't let me post because of a hyperlink and because I'm new...funny thing is, no hyperlink?! I've got the full info if it's needed.
Forgot to add, Baseband version is 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14
I've been looking on Shipped Roms and the only one is:
RUU_Bravo_Virgin_Mobile_1.23.351.1_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_128941_signed.exe
or from the thread in the development folder, which is the same.
Would that one be okay with my Baseband and Software versions? My numbers are very different!
Edit:
Clockwork mod backups - if I flash a new ROM or a new RUU on, would I be able to go back to the state (entirely) as the CWM backup? I'm not 100% certain what it actually backs up, so if you can enlighten me as to that...!

New rom - yes.
RUU - no. Because flashing ruu sets phone back to complete stock, so you do not have cwm recovery any more.
Brilliant, so basically if I flash a new ROM - say for arguments sake, something like Oxygen, I can return to "stock" (albeit Rooted and S-off'd) HTC Sense as it came with (as I have backups for that) - is that right? (I guess what I'm asking is - so long as I don't flash an RUU, with CWM any change I make is reversible?)
Any clues as to whether the RUUs I mentioned are appropriate?

Yes you are right.
The RUUs you mention appropriate to past phone versions.
Sorry for asking daft questions...!
So if you say they're appropriate to past phone versions does that mean they're not for me?
Or would flashing one of those be okay? :-S I want to get it right, you see... ;-)

It means, they are not for you. You are phone is too new for them.
So short of hanging on to my nandroid backup and using that if I ever want to revert to stock, is there any way I can extract my own RUU from my phone, or anywhere else I can one from?
To be honest I spoke to HTC and they said they were okay with me rooting my phone and flashing custom roms so the warranty isn't invalidated if I ever did have to send it back. I just want to be able to reset it to stock if I have to! (In case I want to sell it in the future, for example)

[Q] Orange Desire Unroot help

Hey guys, I am selling my trusty desire now, it has served me well but its time has come...
If anyone would like to buy it off me, they are welcome to, message me, I'm looking for 110.
I am struggling a lot to get started on the unrooting process. I've been reading through posts, topics, on here and modaco and I'm getting more and more confused
Here are the facts.
Its a limited edition black version released by orange. It was locked. Unrooted using unrEVOked method.
Its currently on Oxygen.
BaseBand Version states 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.23
HBOOT is cm7r2
HBOOT version says its 6.93.1002
I tried to follow this but the nand link is dead.
I don't have the original backup I made, I must have deleted it somewhere down the line... silly me
I want to revert it to a stock GBB rom, no bloatware, and unlocked. I have the unlock code for my phone, but is it possible to revert it to a stock version?
I looked at this list to find the correct RUU, which one do I use?
Please, somebody help me out here! I have no clue what to do!
Sorry about all this...
First make sure to flash the bravo_stock bootloader, then the downgrader.
You need to make a goldcard and flash the WWE RUU, because Orange didn't release any.

I tried the FroYo RUU first, used the process in your thread that is stickied at the top of this forum (the rom.zip extraction) but that just stuck on the splash screen. So I went on the HTC Dev site and used the same method to extract the Gingerbread update and that worked no probs. Thank you so much for your help!

[Q][HELP][EMERGENCY] HTC One V Bricked REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE!

Hello guys,
I'm not gonna keep it short, because this is really important.
I recently bought my HTC One V and rooted it today. After a lot of trying, I flashed Clockworkmod on it.
After doing this, I tried to flash a custom ROM on it, so I wiped all system data, etc.
This went wrong, because I did something wrong that did not allow me to flash custom ROMs.
So here's my problem: I'm stuck! I cannot boot my phone, I get the HTC logo with some text like this:
"This version is distributed for developer purposes only...", etc.
So, I don't have any OS installed on my phone, I can only access my fastboot menu, CWM and stuff like that.
I tried installing other ROMs but it just does not work. This proves I screwed it up.
Then, after 2 hours of intensive Googling, I found this thing called RUU recoveries. I tried to find it for my HTC One V. Then, after another 30 minutes of Googling, I found it, downloaded it (took me another hour or so with the stupid server), opened it but got the error that I got the wrong version of the RUU Update Utility.
I cannot find the right one, I think it doesn't exist, because I live in the Netherlands and my carrier is Vodafone.
PLEASE HELP ME. How can I do a factory reset with the stock firmware? Please I really need help because I just bought this phone and I'm just a teenager so I can't afford another one.
ALSO PLEASE RESPOND ONLY IF YOU KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

Hello ofadlaoui,
I might be able to help if you can give me some information from your fastboot menu. Copy all of the text. It should look something like:
Code:
*** UNLOCKED ***
PRIMOU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT- 1.blah blah blah
RADIO- 1.blah blah blah
eMMC- boot
Some date in 2012, some time
Also as a second thought, did you flash the proper kernel/any kernel at all? That might be the problem that you're facing. Or the proper ROM... anyways, shoot me back a reply and I'll see if I can't find that goshdarn RUU for you.
Cheers, worldindo1.
Some personal notes: The CID for Vodafone NL is VODAPE17. Region code is x.xx.161.xx (Vodafone UK, which I found strange since Vodafone Switzerland-Germany is closer). Just need the hboot & radio versions you have and I can see if I might be able to get you a proper RUU.

Patiently waiting for your answer, thanks a lot!
Don't worry... I hope u haven't flashed kernel.. first flash kernel then ur ROM...follow the steps correctly from given link.

Hit thanks if I helped u...
Your device isn't bricked because it boots.. Just download the right kernel and the right rom and flash it according to the guides that can be found on this forum
Chill out man, yours is not bricked.
If you're using HOV CDMA, search custom rom in CDMA/PrimoC section.
But if you're using HOV GSM, then search in GSM/PrimoU section here or here.
Make sure if you choose Sense-based rom (MySense, MIUI, etc), pick the latest Titanium-Kiss kernel by Maxwen.
And if you choose CM10 based rom (PA, CM10, EverVolv, etc), pick the latest HellBoy by Maxwen, or SuperSick kernel by Simonsimons34.
Then after that, just copy the custom rom to your sd card, flash it to your phone.
Choose the right kernel & flash it too.
Voila! Your phone is ready to kick some asses.
Hope it turned out ok. Let us know how it goes. the advice others have given should get you back up and running.

You are on GSM so go pick out from those "here" or "here". If this doesn't work, do not despair as I will try to find the RUU for you. Hopefully it was just an improper ROM or kernel. If one of those ROMs/kernels works get back to me and I'll drop the search but from this point I will be scouring the stinkiest, smelliest, grungiest corners of the internet.
Hello, I'm completely new and completely stuck.
I decided yesterday to root my phone and try and install slim bean following these instructions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092572
It all seemed to install properly and I thought it was all a piece of cake. However, much like the original poster my phone is now stuck on the HTC logo screen.
I have tried restoring my nandroid backup (if that's the right name/term) but it doesn't help. I have tried all-sorts of other things but none seem to work. So I assumed I must have to use a RUU. I tried to find one that is compatible but I get an error which says the model is incorrect or wrong, or whatever when I use it.
I have pretty much exactly the same fastboot details as the original chap, except for the date is different.
I cannot find an RUU with the same radio numbers (I don't know if that is important), the current one I'm using is the Europe one from here...
http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/9187896-post22.html
The H3G UK ones are no longer available. I've also looked on androidfiles RUU page but they seem to have none for HTC One.
I am at a complete loss as to what I can do. You guys seems to have a wealth of knowledge and so I am hoping you'll be able to sort me out, if you can I thank you in advance!

As it said in the OP on the Slim Bean ROM topic, you have to use a CM10 compatible kernel, such as maxwen's kernel. You can find this on One V Original Android Development.

[Q] Flash L Firmware with KK radio?

I'm in Australia with a Telstra branded One M8, full RUU conversion to GPE, with manual flash to Telstra radio.
I want to try SkyDragon or Sinless Roms, but I have to flash L firmware and I noticed the firmware has a radio file in it.
Can I remove the radio file and flash the firmware, or, replace the radio file with the file I currently have from the KK GPE?
Thanks!
Are you S-off ?
If so you can flash any radii you want and stick with the one you think works best

I am S-Off, went back and did a more thorough search and found this (for N5) http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/help/lolipop-radio-t2939844
Will try tonight after work, thanks for the confirmation, gives me a bit more confidence!
You're not going to try to flash that on an m8 are you?
Sent from my HTC one m8 Google play edition
It must be for your device
Yeah, flashing a radio for another device is a great way to brick.
I feel like I must be super clear to the OP
If you don't understand radios are per device I now recommend just calling and texting with it.
Lol sorry guys for the panic, and I really appreciate you guys looking out for me, but no, I was not going to flash the N5 radio to my device, I was just posting it as it was an example I'd found of someone else flashing a radio from a different Android version to their rom.
Anyways, flashed Sinless with the Telstra One M8 radio provided here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56629450&highlight=telstra#post56629450
Everything works fine, although as a matter of preference I restored nandroid to GPE 4.4.4 as I can't live without Xposed :/
Edit: I realise going back and reading my post it sounds like that is exactly what I was going to do...
