anyone where i can get this cab to install on my hermes?
Is this the one you mean?
Is a very nice plugin but running WMPlayer and this plugin 15MB of Ram
If Someone can hack it to just a today player will be better.
Hi there,
Here is a better plug-in for the WMP for Today's screen!
This is more better wmp today plug-in.
and it is freeware

Was that sarcasm??
Thanks to everyone for sharing the available plugins
Really appreciated !!
Im not 100% but I think you can dl an audio codec for CORE that uses .5mb. if anyone is interested check out htc-devs
Is there a consensus as to which plugin is better?
And can someone please post screen shots of the plugin?
Thanks.
I prefer the HTC plugin myself. I finally got the SPB one to work, but it would cause my TyTN to hang all of the time requiring a soft reset. And even then, sometimes it would fail to boot, hanging on the today screen. No hanging or wake-up problems with the HTC version.
FOR WHO WANTS ORIGINAL TOUCHFLO 2D MANILA ON ARTEMIS:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=425694
IT WORKS REALLY FINE AND SMOOTH ON
I HAVE AN ARTEMIS ANJA AND MOSSI ROM 6.1
i second this on yues extra-clean!
greetz
p.s. one thing i really dont fancy about those manila guys is their not displaying the version details in the cab name, this way you find various .cab version posted everywhere and never know which one it is!
this 1 is much better thn all those throttle launcher themes
... just one thing i am missing:
how to change the buttons of the bottom row- order and showing buttons-- i just dont need all of them!
greetz
p.s.. the manila dialer is cooked into yue_v9.1 extraclean !!!!
thormdac edit the file HTCHomeSettings.xml search for tabs and disable what you wont!i gonna try to make a lite version... the last cab install around 330 files to windows directory!!! insane
I haven't tried that combined package yet, but everything installed from single packages works fine on Tom's oops.
Are you going to release this rom in a single package?

will try that!
would be nice if you could make a light version
thanx
Works but not so impressed
Tested it on YuE's clean rom, it works but that's all.
Don't find it so spectacular cause I work with SPB Mobile Shell 2.0 with Diamondskin 2.1
This Manilla thing it's a combination of Spb Mobile Shell Diamond Theme & Throttlelauncher.
BUT it would be nice to implement in any new roms, don't like the HTC Diamond home plugin in the middle of the screen... And they cannot implement the Mobile Shell 2.0 with Diamond theme as homescreen cause it's not freeware...
Only the clock is not so nice on the startup screen, but this can maybe be changed.
just installed it on my artemis touch 4.02 lite no cube rom, it took about ten minutes to install, then when i restarted it about 7 minutes for the pda to load back up, and everything was so sluggish ! I then tried to uninstall it and that took about 15 mins then gave up and said it could'nt uninstall it properly.
Thanks god i have a sprite backup to restore.
It may have been my fault though, i selected install to storage card ? or maybe it just installs to windows anyway.
oh well...
you must install to the device, even though it lets you choose.
oh well i cant even restore, so i have to reflash again, what a pain
i tend to agree,
even on my rocket fast yue extraclean, i feel extremely slowed down (in comparison to without it) in trade for which gain?- optics? hope we can lighten this baby down

The same for me (with an extralight rom and installing Manila 2d in device).
It works but.......very slowwww.
I unistalled it (correctly) but starting time after soft reset was too long: only solution a hard reset.
What about RAM consuption... What can you tell me about it?
I'm also uninstalling it, Spb Mobile Shell with Diamondskin 2.1 is much nicer to work with...
I haven't experienced any slow down of my P3300 with this either...
The Manilla 2D is still in beta, maybe some programmers can speed it up so that rom-builders can cook it in their roms.
HI,
I don't know why your manila 2d is slow , I only can suppose that must install a wm 6.1 diamond rom based , for example i get the anja and mossi on it , or must look for some rom similar
My manila 2d it is fast and works really well, anyway before installing it I uninstall all gui stuff like SPB shell
I installed manila on memory device and not on sd card
I have 14 MB ram free once manila is working , and is working well
i second to the past users' comments
i have tom's oops black 1.0 installed, and i've installed manilla on my device.
everyone should agree that touchFLO 3D aka manilla wasnt actually designed for artemis.. bt it was targeted for diamond which has higher ROM, higher RAM and a higher processors with a graphics device to assist its processes. it would be slow on any device with 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM and a 200MHz processor.
however, its not that slow.. i have 15MB free after Manilla is up and running after power-on.. i can use other applications fine.. bt surely the startup is slow.. takes a bit of patience heheh..
anyway its nice work from another xda developer.. i greatly appreciate ur work...
i've been using manilla on my artemis since it was launched for artemis.. im happy abt it..
hope that somebody can make it less bloating, more efficient, faster and more usable with better customizations..
xda developers rules!

how about reflashing but this time with 8mb pagepool ?
From where can I download Touch flo Manilla 2D or 3D even for my artemis (arte110)?
I found a great cab in Kaiserforum for a larger Startmenu.
Its not like HTC-enlargestartmenu and is really fingerfriendly.
Works smooth and without any problem sinice 2 month, I dont want to miss anymore.
Only problem:
On my Hermes with WM6.0 it closes with an error when I slide out hardwarekeyboard (error: cant open file....no certificate or some components not found....blablabla.......)
I´m searching for this little program (touchstartmenu.cab) wich works in landscape too.
Anyone knows where the cab is from? (Touchstartmenu.cab) maybe the developer of this cab can help. (searched up and down and asked the poster in kaiserforum too, but got no answer)
here is a screenshoot :
Its from Touch Commander, which is not freeware.
Surur
Thanks.
(I thought Touch Commander is a cube programm, as I see now, this is only the start menu part of this programm)
did try the trial of Touch commander 3.2 and my Hermes (WM6.0) got very slow. Not recommendable, there are other programs around, that do the job much better.
But I really like the "Start menu " part. In TC 3.2 I can switch to only use that, and disable the cube, ect., but it still slow down my Hermes.
So I have to keep searching for a similar little program (like touchstartmenu.cab) wich works in landscape too.
Instead of disabling parts, you can actually choose which parts to install when you first run the cab file.
I only use the start menu and the task manager from it, and then I run SPB MobileShell as well, rather than using the cube.
Start menu didn't work properly for me with PDACorner V27. It wouldn't open the programs or settings. Could be that I was loading it on to a system with a large number of 3rd party apps and it may have had a software conflict so might try again on a "virgin" system...Later....
I've had my Tilt 2 for several weeks now and for some reason, I cannot seem to have more than one app open at the same time. As soon as I open a second program, it kills whatever else was running.
Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I have Auto Kill disabled...
Help!?
It also happens with my Hermes and Raphael..
My Hermes (Dopod 838 pro) running official WM6 ROM
My Raphael (HTC Touch Pro) running stock WM6.1 ROM (Version 1.9)
It's a big problem, I can't keep my Twitter, downloader, and Messenger app to run at the background..

So let's say you open File Explorer. You press the Windows button. Now you open Word Mobile and make a new document. Now press the Windows button and go to Home. It still says you closed everything in the HTC Task Manager?
If so, that's weird... looks like you bought yourself an iPhone with a keyboard!
For some unknown reason Windows Mobile 6.x will only run a maximum of 32 processes at one time no matter how much RAM is free. This includes all the basic phone etc that's running.
Clever eh ?
That's some amazing forward thinking Microsoft did. It obviously didn't occur to them that someone might come along and release a device with a faster processor and a load of RAM.
Find yourself a process manager program, not the HTC taskmanager. While typing this I had a quick look and I am running 28.
As I recall, WinMo will close apps if it runs low on memory so the first thing I would do is reboot the phone and bring up task manager and see how much free memory you have left. Then keep watching memory as you do what you normally do with the phone. It's not how WinMo is supposed to act by default and my phone doesn't act that way so it's either an app, how you use it or a hardware fault.

Lots of threads on this, and no, it's NOT memory. It's processes.

Not seen one. If you do plz give me a shout ! Don't even know if it'd be possible. To me it seems like it could be a Kernel level issue.

install dotfred's taskmanager.
I use everapp.. http://www.modaco.com/content/pocke...app-v0-2-application-persistence-under-wm6-x/
it installs a service which runs when u boot up ur phone and u just add w/e programs u want to everapp and it'll keep them running in the bg..great for opera 10 which never stays open for me
try everapp, http://www.modaco.com/content/pocke...app-v0-2-application-persistence-under-wm6-x/
Hi i have tried on Omnia Pro B7610 to avoid auto-closing of apps but the result is not satisfactorie, as everapp is also stopped and besides i cant launch the app (excel or word) from the shorcut after the taskmanager autoclose these. If you have some usefull information regarding this issue i will appreciate it.
i dont understand this why is this so hard to multitask in rhodium... i cant multitask while i browse.. crap !!!.. tried all the browsers they close once i try to open any other application??? WTH??.... what do i do... i have flashed nearlly ll the cooked roms , in all of them i experience the same problem.. in some roms i get this error if i try to open a heavy web page
"Memory low, please choose an application to close" i only have windows media player and a browser.. cant even two applications run .. huff man.. even my elfin was able to multitask better... this 256mb ram is good for nothing.. all the cooked roms are also filed with junk.. total 176 in that 100 mb is already filled WTH!!!.. and in a day it come to 150mb and i am left with only 20mb .... ...
try ucbbrowser and see
its good for browsing
heavy memory use is due to screen resolution being high
do not use windows media player, it consumes heavy ram
use coreplayer, nitrogen or whatever
NEVER WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER
even with nitrogen it closes... the real point is, i open the browserand open some webpage.. by the time it loads i want to run some software.. for that i press the red key.. by the time i open the second software the browser would have closed already... so it's not even 2 programs just one browser it cant handle..
I think you must have some other factor in play here...
On my TP2 (Tmo US, stock 6.1 rom), I currently have open:
-IE, on ESPN
-Nitrogen, playing a 95MB mp3 file
-Word Mobile, with a 2MB doc open
-Google maps, with GPS running
-HTC photo album, listing ~200 hi-res pics.
I have a slight slowdown in menu scrolling, but that's it...other than that, each program is running and running smoothly. I even loaded IE before all the others, just to see if it shut down when I added anything in particular, but it never did.
You mentioned that you hit "the red button"...do you mean the far-right hardware button in the row along the bottom? It was always my understanding that would close the app you're "in" at that moment, but I could be wrong. To back out of an app, but still leave it running, and then open another, I just hit the "home" button to take me back to the home screen, then I can navigate to any other program and start it without closing any of the ones I have open.
Oh cool...i am never able to runthis many apps.... maybe i need to flash some 6.1 rom and check how it goes... maybe 6.5.5 is the issue .. but again 6.1 looks like **** .... have to find a better trade off.... or is sense 2.5 the real issue???... even with 2.1 i had problems i guess... man i should find a better combination here..
6.1 with titatnium or 6.1 with 2.1 or 6.5 with titanium or 6.5 with 2.1 or 6.5 with 2.5 or 6.5.5 with titanium or 6.5.5 with 2.1 or 6.5.5 with 2.5
Also red button wont close the app.. it just gets you to home screen..
Even though I never had issues multitasking on here before this, I will mention that I recently installed the 2 .cabs which have been shown to reduce memory usage on the TP2:
"SSK TP2 Dynamic Resource Proxy.cab"
and
"NoPushInternet_v2.cab"
They should both be available here, but if not, they can be found by a simple search of other similar forums as well (I think I found them at PPCGeeks, not sure). Like most other people that have tried them, I noticed an immediate, and constant, 20-40% reduction in memory usage overall.

i use 6.1 with stock rom on sprint and use the stock opera browser to surf the web. i can use pocket player while browsing the web and no problems. have you tried pocket player?? its much better then wmp, coreplayer i think. pocket player isnt free though,a quick search and you will find it.
i guess i finallly understood the problem.... switched back to a 6.5 rom... whoa... i can multitask like hell... ****on 6.5.5 was the problem.. worst memory management there... also battery drains like hell... people who are using 6.5.5 for a long tmi switch to 6.5 you will note considerable difference
