How do i set it up so all my gmail folders get synced and not just the inbox?
Including sent emails, trash, drafts, etc
Anybody?
+1 - Also interested in syncing more than just the inbox via IMAP.
I don't even know whether Google Sync (Exchange push) does this. I'll have to check on my wife's phone, since that is how I set her up.
hi guys, not sure if works the same as my exchange email but if it does...
go into your inbox
click menu
click tools
click manage folders
then put check marks in the boxes to the left of each folder
hope it works for u
Or what about System Seven ?
Very easy to use.

Good news for Googlemail/gmail users... IMAP supoport now implemented, so you can schedule checks of your mail account and manage mails whilst keeping synced up with the gmail servers...
serversettings: imap.gmail.com:993
smtp.gmail.com:587 use SSL
user name is [email protected] or [email protected] etc...
If you set up labels in gmail, these appear as folders in your artemis mailbox, so moving a mail to a folder on your atremis has the effect of adding a label to it and moving it to 'All Mail' in gmail.
In the advanced mail options, make sure you check to delete mail off server when deleting, otherwise all deleted mail stays in the gmail all mail folder.

How does this feature work if you want to download your email to both your artemis and a desktop? I reckon you need to leave a copy of the message on the server in order to download it twice (phone and pc) right?
thnx in advance.
greetings,
Bartse

That's exactly why you need IMAP instead of POP3 - IMAP leaves all the mail on the server, and keeps a folder structure on the server. When you download, it only downlaods a copy, the original stays on the server but gets marked as read. If you move it on your phone or pc, it will be moved on the server too - you effectively are syncing mail folders on the server, your phone and your pc.
I have a Tmobile Dash runniing WM6.1.
I use Gmail and have it correctly set up on my phone.
I would like to create another email folder, like stuff to keep or something like that but when I go to the manage folders page, I can not do anything. No create new folder or anything.
Does anyone know how I can create another email folder for my pop gmail account on my phone?
Thanks,
jeff

i have a question that i need help with too concerning gmail.
i set up the gmail account and i receive gmails just find and send just fine.
the problem is when i delete emails in my received box (and i have the DELETE OFF SERVER option checked under the WHEN DELETING EMAILS option in settings), well they DO NOT delete off the server. its so annoying. HELP!
I just want to be able to create a new folder so when I want to keep an email on my phone, from my gmail account, I can just put it there, and it wont fall off when I download the next three days messages.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff
Go to messaging and under your e-mail you setup go to 'tools' and then 'options' and 'Account settings'. Instead of downloading the last 3 days, set it to "keep all." Now your phone and outlook will be synced completely

Yes, it will
If you set the time to manual...the emails will be deleted after your next manual check.
If you have it set to every 15, after the 15 minutes is when they get deleted/

hello all, i seem to be having a problem with my e-mail in TF3D and was hoping someone would be able to help me...my problem is this, 1, whenever i read an e-mail in tf3d(not opera) it does not register in my actual yahoo acct that it has been read (or deleted for that matter)...also, whenever i send an e-mail using my TF3D (again, not opera) it does not register anywhere on my phone or at the actual yahoo site that i have sent a message...it doesnt appear in sent folder, draft, outbox etc...its like the message was never sent bc theres no visual proof (but the recipient always gets the message even tho its not showing up)...im hoping someone can help me fix these problems bc i love using the tf3d email tab, but i need proof that i sent and received/read this messages...any help would be greatly appreciated
I suppose that your Yahoo account is either setup either via POP3 or IMAP on your device. If you used the HTC Mail Setup wizard, then it's most likely IMAP. Anyway, the point is you're using a pull method to retrieve your mail (as opposed to push).
When you read or delete email from your device, Yahoo doesn't know that. So, that's why it doesn't show up as read/deleted when you check your email via a web browser.
Solution: after you've read or deleted any emails from your device, tap "Menu" and then "Send/Receive".
By default, when you set up email accounts on your device, only the inbox is synchronized with the server. If you want to see items in your "Sent" folder, you'll need to manually set that up. Luckily this is very easy.
Solution: In your inbox, tap "Menu", then "Tools", and then "Manage folders...". Toggle on the folders accordingly.

hey, forst of all i just want to thank u for not only your quick response, but also for your thorough explenation...the only problem is, IVE TRIED BOTH RECOMMENDATIONS!!! (NOT MEANT AS YELLING, MORE LIKE FRUSTRATED)....as far as the deleted messages, i figured that would "update" yahoo so i "resent/rereceived" the messages so it would (hopefully update) but it didnt work...also, nothing is showing up n the sent folder that your talking about on either the phone or on the actual website...its crazy, i really dont understand it...and yes, i do have the little option about saving a copy of sent messages n sent folder checked...any other ideas???
I think I would delete the account and then set it up again manually. Try different port numbers. Better yet. Forward everything to gmail and use it instead. push is awesome (except attachments still don't work right, but imap is easy too).
I have a Gmail IMAP acct setup (not using the Outlook Email acct; this is an ordinary IMAP acct for Gmail) and syncing with Inbox. However, other personal folders in my acct do not sync. I placed a checkmark in the box next to the folder I need to sync but mail in those folders is only downloaded. If I delete an email in one of them it does not get deleted in the same folder on the server.
Is this how it works for these folders?
Do I need to to set it up differently for full synchronization to work?
I think I finally got it to work! After trying all the settinngs I think that Delete on Connect/Disconnect did the trick.
I'm using Gmail Exchange ActiveSync and the HTC Mail App, because:
1. The Gmail App seems to be either Push Mail (Constant) or Manual (Menu --> Refresh), whereas I'd prefer it to check for me once an hour.
2. I dislike the Gmail interface
But when I click "Refresh", mail I've deleted via IMAP in Outlook or the Webmail doesn't disappear. It does download new mail though. This link:
http://email.about.com/od/iphonemailtips/qt/Set_Up_Push_Gmail_in_iPhone_Mail.htm
Refers to using Gmail Exchange ActiveSync on the iPhone, says:
"* To delete a message, move it to the [Gmail]/Trash folder.
* To archive a message, delete it from the Inbox or move it to [Gmail]/All Mail."
I don't mind if pressing DELETE Archives or Deletes the message but surely this isn't correct? Both the Gmail App and IMAP delete mail when you click "Refresh" (that have been deleted elsewhere). I shouldn't have to "Manually" delete mail, I've already deleted elsewhere.
Surely this does too?
Thanks
It's suddenly starting working. I must say Sync using Exchange ActiveSync is very hit and miss!
Last night I was finding it was trying to Sync (the white sync circle) for 5-10 minutes+, despite using Wireless and it only having to update 1-2 e-mail differences. I gave up in the end .
It's now not downloading mail in folders other than the Inbox!
I've had to move mail out, refresh, move it back in and then refresh again, it then downloads the mail but this is tricky to do for Sent Items. If it's still playing up tomorrow, I think I'll switch to IMAP. What a mess:
1. Google Sync: Has no ability to say how often it downloads mail. You either have to accept "Push Mail" (and the extra battery it needs) or Manually click Refresh
2. Gmail Exchange ActiveSync: Is proving very unreliable
Annoyingly IMAP doesn't offer Contacts/Calendar Sync, so I'll still have use one of the above methods for these two. Probably Google Sync, as Exchange ActiveSync will create a redundant Mailbox. Hopefully only Real-time Syncing Calendar/Contacts won't have too much draw on battery. I'm pretty sure it's the Mail part that does this.
Now it won't download anything in my Sent Items and instead just re-downloads the same e-mail, that isn't even in Sent Items any more!
IMO Gmail's (Beta) Exchange ActiveSync is well and truly broken! I'm off to re-configure (for the more basic but reliable) IMAP.
IMAP for me too, works well without any issues
IMAP is so much more reliable than Exchange ActiveSync. It's annoying it doesn't sync Calendar/Contacts too though.
I'm using Google Sync for those two, hopefully battery won't be hammered too much. I'm pretty sure it's E-Mail (not Calendar/Contacts) that does this, when Push is enabled.
