Bell doesn't have any android phones.
So I run it from my vogue..

Good luck!

Same here. Verizon says they are releasing two Android phone by the end of the year so I'm gonna wait to see what the other one is but by the end of the year I'll be using an Android phone. Tired of running it on my slow Vogue

man I saw that commercial today, I want one SOO bad.... too bad bell sucks for phones

Rumors seem to be that the second Motorola Android phone will be the forgotten Calgary, which some had thought to have changed into the Sholes/Toa/Droid. Leaked pictures of the Calgary shows a step down from the Droid, but the back indicates that it will include MotoBlur, as apposed to the Droid's "with Google" label. If that's the case, I will more than likely get the Droid for myself, and get the Calgary for my wife.

Unless there's something show-stopping about the Droid's default firmware, I'm sure we'll be able to just throw SenseUI or MotoBlur onto it without much trouble.
But yeah. I'm getting the Droid, hands down. Surely it won't be more than $200 on contract, right?

Finally a phone with a good UI and good hardware for Verizon. I can't wait to get one of these.

Don't hold your breath... Verizon will find some way to cripple it... they always do.
They are the masters at taking an otherwise great phone and stripping out the useful features and just "dumbing it down" in general

My roommate has the Hero, I am not very impressed. Very slow processor, even though it has the same as the vogue it runs really slow. The open source operating system is great (he has tons of free apps and games), doesn't quite make up for the processor. The capacitive touch screen isn't any where near the iphone either. Wait for the HTC Leo, that is when everything will change, 1 ghz processor makes me salivate.

I agree with navy, the Leo, which is set to come out in early 2010, is the iphone killer.

Yeah me too, but the wife says I have to many phones already. LOL
Guess I have some sucking up to do.
I gotta have a keyboard. If the phone starts lagging, typing on the screen lags too, it really sucks. $99 is not a bad price for the phone, I'm sure alot of people would jump on that.

Does yor G1 lag then? Just wondering as with the CPU speed we have in devices should be no lag, never use Hardware Keyboard on Kaiser as the expresion "Hard to Use & Hard to Find" pops into mind, but then never have any lag
the g1 does lag if im using too many programs (like pandora+messaging+opera mini) I usually run together. Like the Dash you can keep typing on the keyboard and the phone will catch up, with the onscreen touch keyboard when you type when and phone lags the buttons wont respond until the cpu catches up, you either gotta type slower or go back and fix all the errors. This happens also with the mytouch, im sure when better faster ROMS come out itmay not be such a problem.

To fix that gain root access of your phone and download Advanced Task Killer (Free) it lets you kill any apps running quickly and frees up ram quickly
yea its rooted, latest cyanogen stable rom, parted sd card for the apps2sd, i use task manager, i acually got a few task killer apps. i should overclock it but i can deal with a little lag to save battery. its all modded out like my dash is haha.
Does anyone know if this applies to upgrading/renewing for 2 years as well? I'm out of contract now and up for the $199 Mytouch upgrade. It would be pretty nice to get this $100 cheaper.
according to what i read online it applies to qualifying upgrades and new service.
Im gonna wait and see what the moto cliq is gonna be like. I know my next phone is definantly going to be Android unless the T-Mo TP2 price comes down. Yes folks flipped from WM.

I'm waiting to see the Cliq and the price as well. Rumor has it that it is going to be a major push from Motorola and T-Mobile and may even be FREE with a 2-year contract. If they do that, or even make it $50 or so, it is definitely going to be my next phone.

Its was a good flip for me I've been a Linux and Mac user my whole life so getting root access and being a mod an Android device is a whole lot more comfortable for me
ubuntu rox, I just wish I could run my favorite programs on it.
i was just thinking although the cliq looks like a badass looks and tech wise, i realised it wont get much xda support being a motorola. who knows if it will be rootable and be able to put cooked roms on it (if i cant run cyanogen with apps2sd it might be a no go for me). i dont want to be stuck using a standard t-mo rom on it. phones like moto q9h and the jack would be alot better if cooked roms, hacks and mods were availible (just the usual registry mods was all i could find) but little tech support makes them a dud IMO.
btw the pre order date is said to be oct. 19th no price yet. im still debating on the mytouch promo or just wait on the moto clit, but i dont wanna cough up 200 on the touch since the promo is ending soon (23rd or the 24th i think) decisions decisions.

please remember that you're talking about a motorola device. always have been shyt and always will be shyt phones. they made 1 good phone ever... the razr.. and that was.... 5 years ago.... they made the sidekick slide though.... nvmd that was shyt too.
yea your absolutely right about moto phones, i got the q9h with WM 6.1 thinking it would have been an upgrade from my dash since the tech specs said so, it was slower and froze up alot and just pissed me off all the time. i went back to the dash after about two weeks. my gf had the sk slide,it was a nice looking phone but i wasnt too impressed with it.
watch its probly gonna be all hype and end up discontinued in 6 months after the release.

i dont want to discourage you but i've had a g1 sitting in the box and just got mytouch. they run the exact same software. everything in the dream forums works well. tons of stable roms tons of free apps. battery life is fail but no more than the dash prior mods. 16-20 hours. i had to go to a store and play with it a while to make up my mind. if you dont like it and still want the moto cliq go for it
i agree about motorolas, they are pieces of ****. even the razor, it was only cool because of its size. the cliq is probably aimed for the "Hannah Montana" crowd. its tmobile's way of replacing the sidekick

New Phones coming out

Hey guys,
I was just wondering what all new phones you have heard were coming out. I got a Tilt2 and seems like I have 30 days to return it. I don't really love the phone. It's still slow. Constantly locking up. Not an upgrade over my Raphael at all other than the screen.
So basically, what are new ATT phones coming out? Anything Android I should look at? Anything HTC is releasing that is actually an upgrade?
No point in flaming, I've been with the newest and latest HTC versions of phones for the last 4+ years. They have been great. But they aren't even upgrading anything anymore, and Android is passing them and at the same time being cheaper. It is unfortunate, but I thought you guys might have some opinions or rumors on new phones that were actual upgrades.
Thanks!

be careful of how you want people to respond. claiming software on an htc device (against another htc device) is its downfall in the xda forum will make it too easy for people to lash out against you.

Really I mainly mean lock up as in the software can't work right because of the hardware. I'm mainly critiquing the hardware, not the software. The software would be awesome, if it had a processor to run it.
Don't all the recent HTC devices (not including HD2) have the same specs?

I think you mean't that the software was bad and then someone posted something slightly threatning... The truth is the software is bad. My phone locked up constantly and was awefully slow. I posted that I didn't like it and got a bunch of stupid comments but I did get a few useful ones. Here's what I did to get my phone working pretty well.
I didn't like touch flo, i thought it was slow and didn't offer things I need like tasks. I like the today screen but wanted more functionality. My answer is SPB Mobile Shell. Remove everything from the today screen and just use that. Somehow it uses memory better than touch flo or today screen. I can load the device up with running programs (like 80%) and it responds quickly. I have clearRam running at 12:15 everynight to close it all out while I'm asleep and I wake up to a fully ready to go phone...
Hope this helps...
LG Expo is out or should be out soon, it's packing a snapdragon processor, memory and RAM are the same as the tilt 2, but still it has a snapdragon. I'm also a little disappointed in HTC, i mean it's taking them 3 generations of the touch pro just to upgrade the processor, the touch pro 2 should have had at least a 600 mhz-800 mhz processor. But thats just my opinion.

I don't know anything about the Tilt2 locking up, because, well, I had it for less than an hour before I HardSPL'ed it and flashed a custom ROM to it. It has never locked up on me even once. Funny thing, even though the processor is the same as the Fuze, my Tilt2 is a LOT faster than my Fuze. I mean a LOT. I don't quite understand it myself, but it is self-evident when I perform actions on either device. It even took about one third the time to flash the same build/date ROM (check my sig.) to my Tilt2 that it took to flash to my Fuze.
I know this isn't the point of the thread but I've had a Tilt 2 for a couple of weeks now, running the stock ROM (with tweaks and regedits) and have had no lock-ups. The phone doesn'r seem slow or laggy at all to me. I had a Fuze last year for a week but returned it because it was so bad. The Tilt 2 is a major improvement IMO.
the lg expo is just not a better phone. it has a snapdragon processor but thats not going to be what makes the phone. lg is a bad brand and makes bad products. and if you keep windows mobile but stray away from htc youll regret it. people dont make roms for many other manufacturers. you wont beable to squeeze out more performance by flashing a new rom. youll be stuck on stock with all the bloat and none of the htc enhancements. if you really want it, buy it, its not my money.
As far as I can see with new devices not any real HTC replacement for Rhodium will come till 2011, so let´s enjoy it!!
there are ways to make the rhodium better. a better camera with flash. i would have liked to have a 5mp camera as is fashionable with this generation of phones. some would say a capacitive screen but compared to the hd2 the sensitivity is close to the same. and being a business phone i think having a stylus for notes is more important. the only thing you would really want a capacitive screen for is zooming and it has a zoom bar. i secretly miss a dpad though they always disappoint a little, knowing they could be better. and the chrome could have been skipped on a bit. i love a good hardware keyboard and the touch pro 2 has the best of any phone ive ever used. i cant see myself getting rid of it since almost no phone will have anything like it.

So did I. The latest version of Energy does help with the lock ups, although the previous one was locking up and this one is still slow.
Not a software thing, but some examples are things like:
If I have a lot of texts, it takes forever for them to load a thread, and when I exit the person's text part it will basically take 10 seconds to get back to the list of everyones texts. Sometimes the top bar(where Start menu is) will get stuck and show things like the top-right X and the previous top bar for the last program I was in even when I'm back at the home menu. The weather animations lag everything sometimes(Sense 2.1 ones, not 2.5 because 2.5 made it lag even crazier.)
Seriously though my favorite phone was the Tilt 1. Then the Fuze just blleewww. Now this one is an upgrade and I like it better than the original Tilt, but only slightly. The hardware and specs aren't even much better at all it seems, and it simply isn't worth $500 for almost no upgrade. I've played with some of the Android/Palm/Iphone phones with better specs and stuff and everything is just snappier and smoother. Once again, its nothing our chef's can fix, just HTC isn't giving us upgrades.
So thats why I was asking if anyone had heard anything about real upgrades on ATT. Even if I have to switch to Android, just an upgrade.
I obviously think switching to another WM6.5 that isn't made by HTC is a bad idea just because of the custom ROMs, so I can only look for a better HTC phone or Android, and neither seem available.

No need to read... I am just gonna vent a little

I was fooling myself that I got great phone, but I am done as of now... windows mobile is a piece of broken, plastered together laggy piece of ****. No miracle ROM is going to change that. Thanks to all the Chefs and great community here for at least trying to make this miserable phone work a little bit better.

How long did you have your device? I know your tired of it but Athine OS ROM may give it a fresh breath.
Why Apple? I mean that Sh*& is SOO locked down! you will likely have to jailbrake it to as much as tether(simular on windows/android but you dont have to boot connected to black box or PC)
And i do sympathize with you about WinMo it is laggy out of the box. myself I enjoy tweaking and learning how it ticks.
However if i may i would like to suggest the evo 4g. its android. people who know know. you know?
my beef with apple is while i like my apple II C i did not pay for it and ill never give them a cent. good luck running flash with Iphone 4g as they pissed off adobe and simply wont support it out of the box.
Now as for Windows Phone 7 thats just garbage! its so sad to see the HD3 coming out with that. poor thing wont be able to multi task or copy/paste!
Now I only use windows on a PC when I absolutely HAVE to other than that im on Linux.
The evo 4g and iphone 4g will debut around the same time (June/2010) and HD3 will come out when it does, i dont remember when.
In summary it cool to have beef with Microsoft but go Linux(Android) first NOT Apple!!
Thats my vent thanks if you read it have a great day
I have had my phone for 9 months. Long enough to express my opinion. Rhodium is great phone, best keyboard I have seen. You said that WinMo is great for tweaking, but I need my phone to work, funny that is has been advertised a business phone.
I don't want to tweak it, I want it to work. I need to take pictures wile on the job, email or MMS them to my partner, listen to streaming music while traveling between the work sites and use calendar. Is it too much to ask ? I have tried to use use iphone for week, it just works, I can do everything... no stress UI just flows, fast responsive, emailing taking pictures and listenig to online radio , everything working right out of the box. Paypal, grooveshark they dont even have applications for WinMo.... this OS is falling into obscurity and they don't want to put their applications on it. I feel like an imbecile that i fell work "business" marketing garbage. I will definitely look into evo 4g, but I am not going back to WinMo. Anybody wants to buy a Rhodium ?
Not that my suggestion will make any difference, but if you want a plain phone that just works throw HTC Sense into the virtual recycle bin...HTC sense is much more for multimedia than business. There are some great WinMo apps that spruce up the basic today screen to give you quick links. You can also try out Titanium, which a lot of people have done some cool UI stuff with.
You can actually download nanoshark, which I believe is a UI to interact with grooveshark. I've also found (not tested) a paypal software for WinMo in one search: http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-paypal-mobile-by-smarttouch.html
At the end of the day, it seems those who throw in the towels have made up their mind day 1. Best of luck w/ your next phone and I really do hope you think twice about over paying and lining apples pocket.
I had same feelings as you...... BUT!!

I bought my Tilt2 and had it about 6 months and was sick about how it preformed in every way. I taught myself how to flash ROM's by reading forum after forum after forum. Thanks to all the guys on this forum that has made me proud to be an owner of a Tilt2. There are many great ROM's here to try but if you only have time to try just one, please try valkyrie.ftp v6.2.25009TR2.5 you will love your phone. In my area my internet speeds are better than any iPhone I have came across. I take them to mobilespeedtest.com and they are like ... dang man ... now what kind of phone did you say you had. lol Trust me man, b4 you sell your phone or trade it off, try this ROM and let the fun begin ....... been there ..... now loving my Tilt2 .... good luck!!!

if anything go with the EVO 4g...it blows iphone 4g out da water..plus it has two cams for video conferencing and a 4.3 in. AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with pinch to zoom. plus the new wimax frequencies. or that new dell thunder coming out is looking pretty hot right now.
sorry to hear about ur bad experience with WM. after doing the various fixes and patches, my device NEVER lags on the TF3d UI or while in wm. everything works..can easily do all the stuff u said iphone 4g can do with no problems. fixes/patches meaning: memory leak mod, sd tune up, no push internet, dynamic proxy, deleted bloatware, plus my AtmDng 3d driver helps alot.
im due for an official upgrade from at&t. ima eventually let my girl have this one. i want a bigger screen...lol there are some powerhouse devices about to drop this summer and fall. this rhodium is just my training grounds for future devices. i got this as a warranty replacement for my original kaiser/tilt, since they stop makin them or whatever.. wrked out good for me..lol the phone now is a million times better and faster thn when i took it out the box. Go XDA
The Iphone/ipods are designed that anyone from the age of 3 years to 90 years old can pick it up and just use it. Which is great... BUT when you want to do something with it it wasnt originally intended to do you have to wait for their "official updates" or jailbreak your phone which alot of mac-aholics are nervous about. The great thing I have seen about windows phones is dev's have actually developed ways to get the phones up to par with newer models without having to flash and void warranties. This I realized very quickly when I moved from palm to htc and had my Vogue. I was able to get TF2D working on that before TF2D was even released. Now if you still have the Vogue you can actually have it working as a fully fledged android device!
The Touch Pro and Touch Pro 2 were the same. Right now you don't even need to have to flash a custom rom to get sense 2.5 running anymore. They have that all cabbed up for us (mind you I still flash.) Taking programs from other phones and tweaking them to work on ours seems to work fairly easy as well.
You can't do HALF the things possible with the iphones you can do with even the most basic windows mobile phone. The phone thing I thought the Iphone had that was better then the touch pro was the screen size. However, the display resolution was just garbage. That was quickly fixed with the Touch Pro 2 I would say.
Basically think of the Iphone like an automatic car..... then windows mobile phones are more like standard/stick cars. You have more control over what the "Car" can do and when... you can tweak its performance to better suit whatever your need might be.
If you like the Iphone interface guess what... you can download a skin that mimic's it almost exactly!!!

And what is so hard about taking pictures with the TP2? Its simple and works great. And low-light photos on the iPhone are absolutely aweful on the iPhone. In a side-by-comparison, indoor low light photos on the TP2 blow away the iPhone.
Going from the TP2 to the iPhone is one end of the spectrum to the other. I'll agree that if you don't like to tweak and customize, than the TP2 is probably not for you. And the iPhone is about as customizable as a microwave oven.

Godbye Rhodium

Loved you very much. Moved onto a Backflip. Couldn't take the lack of support for the speaker on Android. For those of you looking for an Android phone I recommend the Backflip... It's slicker, and even better: it's free with a new plan on AT&T
Even still good luck with this Android port.
If anyone wants to buy a used T-Mobile Touch Pro 2 I'm selling it on eBay and it's only at 125$ bidding so far...
The backflip is literally the worst Android phone made. Just trying searching google or side loading apps on it. You will be unpleasantly surprised.
Yeah, I'm moving to a iPhone next week and will also be putting my TP2 on eBay. Good luck on ur eBay auction.

LOL
There is a reason that with a new contract the backflip is free and the TP2 is still $250....
Motorola makes crap.
wow
this thread is pointless
It's ok, I just got a TP2 so there will always be new users!
no one cares... what is this? craigslist? go advertise somewhere else.
wow just wow

ok honestly you just made the WORST decision in history! why the heck would you drop the TP2 for the crappiest phone on the planet? slicker and better is more like uglier and horrible, worst perfomance, and of course Android Market is locked down, you cant load any third party apps! and why you didnt get the Aria? its 10000x more better but whatever and moving to a backflip just because you couldnt get speaker support on the Android port is a real unacceptable excuse, its a PORT! TouchPro2 was made for Windows Mobile, dont expect the devs to make everything to work in one shot, it seems like you insulted the port project by moving to an actual android because lack of sound, dont worry youll regret the whole decision!
ugh my venting session is done -.- total pointless thread, sorry but i just had to rant, because thats the worst decision ive seen from a consumer
xero_racer, roast much lol, I agree with you and all, cause Im like big time trying my best to get the sound working, and I am a noob when it comes to all of this, but im still tryin cause I speak tiny amounts of C++.and I can usually figure stuff out, and this kinda upset me cause that just makes me feel like i'm wasting my time towards something that people wont appreciate...
@reefer
Yeah. I haven't heard anything good about the Motorola Droid or the Droid X. /s
Just because one phone cost more than another doesn't mean squat.

Odd. The droid is one of the best performing phones on the market, period. The build quality is unusually high for Motorola. I'm sure the Droid X follows suit, the specs are nothing to laugh at.
Motorola Android phones that have extremely LOW build quality and are also low spec'ed:
Cliq
Cliq XT
Backflip
always liked the nexus one for a native android phone, just not a phone i feel like buying though.
Nice. Motorola's cell phones almost shut their entire mobile division down. The droid was their saving grace, but the backflip and the cliq have been plagued with problems, including a possible lack of upgradability to eclair without rooting. Lack of sound is to be expected in a build that's still in development, I hope you didn't get this pone with the sole intent of installing android.
Sorry about your lack of taste, but you should expect to be flamed when opening a thread bashing an excellent piece of hardware.
ive been thinking about switching to an android phone. but not a backflip. its horrible. its slow, ugly, outdated, have you tried using that thing they call a keyboard? my brother has an aria and i love it, but id prefer something like a touch pro 2 with android. i might settle in the future for something like a nexus one with an htc sense rom. a sense rom is whats tempting.
Have u ever used a backflip or cliq?

Totally second that lol
what about the Samsung Epic 4G. It has almost the same form factor as the tp2 but a larger screen.
I cant wait to get that in gsm.
The Backflip is not that bad depending on what type of user you are. If you active in this forum then most likely it is not the phone for you. My wife got one and she loves it. She is not a power user though. She likes to make phone calls, text messaging, the occasional photo upload, very light web surfing and facebook. She has no interest in side loading apps or any of that other stuff. For her the backflip suites all of her need.
For anyone else here that would like to switch over to a native Android phone I suggest you take a look at the Samsung Captivate. It is a highly anticipated phone and is supposed to be just as powerful as the Droid X. It releases this coming sunday the 18th of July. For those of you who can't live without a keyboard then you maybe out of luck cause the Backflip is the only Android phone on AT&T witih a keyboard.
I myself am a power user who needs the latest and greatest in both hardware and software. I though have grown very tired of Windows Mobile and the daily reboots just to keep it running well enough to use. I am also out of patients waiting for a full working port of Android. The developers here do an awsome job and I am not puttingi them down. I just want to switch to Android and I want to do it yesterday. I to have put my Tilt 2 up on Ebay and will be purchasing the Captivate this coming Sunday.
Samsung Epic 4G/Captivate/Vibrant/Fascinate (all versions of the Samsung Galaxy S) looks like the go-to phone if you're leaving XDAndroid. I'll probably be getting the Vibrant once it's released on T-mo.
Nothing against the Rhodium, but mine's beat up (probably only good for parts) and I don't normally keep a phone as long as I've kept this one. If anyone needs a t-mobile Touch Pro 2 for parts or whatever, PM me after the 15th.
Woah
Am i missing something or did any one realize he spelled goodbye wrong?

HTC Rhodium still useful in an iPhone/WP7/Android era.

I still love my Cricket flashed TP2 (Sprint) and enjoy customizing it in fact. Very flexible like the HD2 and the keyboard is still one of the best in the industry. Anyone still using theirs today?

Hell yeah I still use mine. It still does everything I want to do and its not the run of the mill phones of today.
Next up is taking it to europe for a couple weeks, swapping the sim card and still enjoying it there...
I would still use mine if I did not switch to Verizon.

I still have mine too. I had to turn off that stupid slow Sence, but with Titanium is Rhodium fast and working great. And it does all what I need My lovely Rhodium.

This piece of Krapp Fone (yes with a K), its freakin slooooooooooooooowwwww. I use to think iphone 3G's was inferior back in 09. I still have my rhodium I honestly would love to use my sledge hammer, and cripple the dam thing!!! but if i can make $50 bucks of it, I'll be happier. couldn't stand memory leak issue with Windows mobile. Gladly, I am in the Samsung Galaxy S2 scene now, where there is not such thing as slowdowns.
HTC Rhodium, I REGRET YOU and DENOUNCE that you were ever my phone!
Same here. I still use my TP2 like it was brand new. I'm not parting with it until it dies. It does everything I need it to, and does it fairly quickly. Sure I can get an Arrive or a droid phone with a Ghz CPU, but I'd lose all the tweaks and programs I have amassed over the last year and a half. Screw that. Co0kies Home Tab still rules the roost round here!

A month ago I would've agreed with you. But now that I finally got an Android native phone, I could never go back. You think there a lot of customizations with winmo and CHT, take that times 100 and you have Android. The things you can do is off the charts. You'll know what I mean when you finally move on from your TP2.

i totally agree with you. this phone has caused me nothing but trouble in the longrun. it was quite good for a short period of time. ive just got myself a samsung galaxy s2 myself and there is no effin way im going back to tp2 ever. this phone i have now is crazily fast, there's truly no competition whatsoever (even an older android phone would beat the tp2).

I agree. Many think the Rhodium and winmo is the end all be all of customizability... but things have changed.

Had tp2 for two years. Beautiful phone aesthecally unbeatable keyboard. The mistake I made was upgrading to Sense. The phone was never designed to run sense....slowed it down completely. Also it began to have random shut downs and crashes with Sense. It was irritating to have to install apps like Clean Ram in order to rescue my phone from crashing and keep it workable each day.
The straw that broke the camels back was when youtube hq video support for tp2 stopped.....it finally hit home that I had an aging phone that was unable to keep up with the times....a phone that youtube and adobe flash were now overlooking. Windows mobile had had its day it seemed. As such, it was time to put my tp2 in my 'museum' drawer along with my htc diamond and old ipaq.
I switched to a phone that was ahead of the times and might provide at least two years of futureproof peace of mind due to its specs...samsung gs2. Android is the future imho. I still occasionally use my htc hero without any problems - bar the smallish screen...

Yup, with Android you get the customization options, and you also get an OS that actually works and has a ton of good software. If you need to stay with WinMo for personal reasons, then its tolerable. But if you compare Winmo to Android side to side, there is no contest.
I believe you. I've been using the Tilt 2 for a long time now, and I was waiting for DFT's Android NAND to be out but I gave up waiting last week. It's been lying around for a week without a sim card in it and still has battery life left. It's been running for a week on standby without charging. I moved to the Galaxy S, but I still love the TP2. Great phone it is. I will use it to test if they do come out with a proper android ROM for it.
Still using mine. All love love with it.
Im still using mine. My wife upgraded from the touch pro to the arrive running windows 7. It is nice but I still prefer 6.5. I would like a better camera and some sort of d pad to allow one hand use but still have not found a replacement. The xperia x2 looked perfect but it is not available in the US and I would have to switch to ATaT because it is GSM. I love the tp2 and it does almost everything I want. I use it with the stock rom and spb mobile shell. It allows me to customize the phone exactly how I like it.
My precious....
After running an old Kaiser with a very stable ROM for the last 2 years I "upgraded" my equipment with tp2, which I ever wanted to have. Must say, the Keyboard is great, don't wanna miss it any more! But WM 6.5 is a hard experience...
Till now I've fought over 3 months with this phone! It's such a brilliant concept of a phone, why is it so hard to get it stable??? I think I've tried out nearly any german ROM out in the field, including Energy Rom and the original one from HTC, not a single one was without a bug! The only thing I want it is to be stable, smooth and, well, just working!
Now I stay with the original Stock ROM, by now it seems to be stable, but memory using is a monster, and the phone slows down over the day.
And, after all, I also think of leaving good old WM and change to Androiid, but all I can read is that syncing Android with all my Data in Outlook via USB is also such a tricky job like using ActiveSync...
Has anyone here experience in that?
I have mine for now a year. I dont understand why HTC started to screw their Touch and Type phones. If you look in past, if you buyed a HTC with full qwerty, you became much faster phone than only Touch. Last better Touch and Type was Touch pro. If you compare witch Diamond, it had more Ram. From this point the Touch and type had worse hardware. I dont understand why they made Touch pro 2 with hardware from Touch pro. It was old and in that year came HTC touch HD2 with Snapdragon. So why Touch pro 2 didnt became also? This is only thing what i miss on this phone.
But... i had now for 2 days HTC Desire. I know, it had overheating issue, but i made some tricks to made it working I tryed and i must say, AMOLED, camera, speed, android was the hammer. There are only 2 reason i wouldnt buy one for common use. Absent full qwerty and my TP2 still do all i want. I would miss my 5 row keyboard :-D So still, TP2 is still numero uno for me ;-)
