Silence Ringer
Hmmm, anyone know how to silence the ringer when a call comes in and you just want to "shut the phone up" without declining the call? With my Wizard you can just hit the volume slider, and it'll make the ringer go off.
Thanks for your help in advance.
i don't have mine yet, but did you try the joggr when the call comes in?
Yep tried that.. Even put the JOGGR in volume only mode, and that didn't shut it up either... I know on a lot of other phones you tap the power button to shut it up, but no button's will do it.
I'll keep trying..
Argh, I've still not had any luck in finding a way to shut it up when a call comes in.. *sigh*
I don't think there is a feature to do what you want. Ignore or the end button send it directly to vm as you no doubt have figured out already.
I can touch the volume strip on the dash and it mutes the phone call.
I know, not very helpful, but thought i'd let you know.

Look in the registry around:
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\JogBar\Settings\
There's a key there called EnableRingVolumeMute
If there isn't, try creating it and setting it to 1. Mine seems to mute the call fine with that setting.
Ringer silencing on Dash
Hitting the "reduce volume" slider on my dash silences the ringer -- no registry hacks needed. Don't know if this works on HTC unit...
El Perfecto!!!!!!! The registry hack worked on the S620.. Apparently it comes with EnableRingVolumeMute set to 0.
Muchas thanks!
This needs to go in a FAQ.
Change JOGGR Outlook key to something else?
Has anyone figured out how to change the JOGGR's launch outlook button (bottom button) to launch something else, say, FlexMail? Even though I have FlexMail set as the default mail program, it still launches Outlook...any ideas?
I hate Outlook email (it does not work well with IMAP, like, it won't delete things unless you resync it manually. Painful!)

Never mind...
Got this from www.smartphonethoughts.com just now:
Well that sure didn't take long. Just 1 day after the Dash hit the streets, akil, staulkor, and some others over at Howard Forums has found a way to change the functionality of the volume jogger on the Dash to include scrolling and launching programs. You'll need to modify the registry to get this to work. So, make sure you back things up before making any changes. Here are the changes you need to make to get this working.
To Enable Scrolling:
• HKCU\ControlPanel\JogBar\Settings\SwitchToAudioFunc = 0
Tap on Bottom Key Launches IE Mobile:
• HKCU\ControlPanel\JogBar\Settings\BottomKeyApplicationName = \Windows\iexplore.exe
Tap on Top Key Performs Back
• HKCU\ControlPanel\JobBar\Settings\TopKeyApplicationName = BACK
You can replace any these with your favourite applications. Other common applications would be START (to Launch the Start menu), \Windows\tmail.exe to launch Outlook Mobile, or http://www.SmartphoneThoughts.com to launch IE Mobile with your favourite website Wink Let us know how you make out!
Here is a utility I wrote that will let you change almost all of the JOGGR settings on the phone. It will also let you change the apps that launch when you press the Camera key and the T-Zones key. The app shortcuts must be in the shortcut file format because I didn't know enough about the Windows CE LNK format to simply let you pick an EXE.
I am going to add support to let you change the apps that launch from the JOGGR bar, but wanted to get this version out now so you don't have to dig through the registry to get scrolling working.
It requires the .NET CF 2.0 or higher.
Sweet, good job! Will give it a shot.
This would be a good base for a simple DASH/S620 tweak util.. 'Cause there's a couple good tweaks out there as well.
Is there a way to do this on the Dash without having the touch strip/jogger enabled. So basically all I want it to do is silince the ringer.
which compact framework .net am I to install? I tried installing the ARM versions but they refused to install on the Dash.

The version for the ARMV4I is the correct one. Try the installer at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0c1b0a88-59e2-4eba-a70e-4cd851c5fcc4&DisplayLang=en. That link will take you to the .NET CF 2 SP1 MSI file.
Works like a charm. Very nice job
I have .NET CF 2.0 spk1 with a T-Mobile DASH.
But still does not work

What doesn't it do? Does it even run?
Basically when I run it it gives an Error.
An unexpected error has occurred in the DashConfig.exe
Select Quit and then restart this program or select Details for more information.
When I hit details:
UnauthorizedAccessException
at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError()
blah blah blah.. basically a whole lot of errors
I would love for this to work..
Hello everyone
After trying all the phone lock software out there I still can’t find what I’m looking for, what I’m looking for is so simple an icon in the start menu to lock the phone then r2u or t2u & unlock when phone rings and that’s it. I don’t like the idea of having to press the power button to wake up the screen to be able to unlock the device I’m also not interested in all of the other features that most of the phone lock’s have. Can someone help?
I have tried sensor lock I did like it a lot but I was unable to configure it and you could tell it was running in the background as the screen would jump. Plus throw in my case and a few beers and I know I’m going to drop it.
Many Thanks Jez
A list of phone lock programs you will need to search for them as some of the links aren’t applicable any more and I did need not save the ones that are working
Throttle lock
S2u2
Sunscape
Touchlock pro
Phone buddy
M lock
Organic lock
Pocket shield
Sensor lock
Lock me tight
Stylus lock
try Auto Lock (CSDEVCTRL), you could slide to the right on the screen to unlock the phone or use the windows default unlock.
Hello gbjack
Just tried that app and it’s just to much setting up and I don't think it’s going to do what I want it to do. Just hope someone is willing to write a program going by all the forums I have searched it will be popular
Cheer’s for the reply and suggestion
I tried many lock apps as well, but in the end the standard windows lock is what im using. No hassle, and it simply works as intended. I just press the "hangup" virtual button, and after the second vibration feedback i can be sure that the phone is locked. Doesn't get any simpler than that.
Then you have to try " WWE-Chobit Company SmartLock 1.7B". Only four or five options but it cannot lock your hardware key during call.

Then you have to try " WWE-Chobit Company SmartLock 1.7B". Only eight very simple options but it cannot lock your hardware key during call.

Just tried that app and it’s not even showing in programs for me to set it up, so I will have to keep looking, it amazes me that no one has written a program like I’m after considering it’s so simple.

This is good specialy the turn on bluetooth on call feature, but when we have an income call, the app takes ages to know what to do and the phone only begins to ring 5 secs after. Lockmelite it's the best one around but has a problem with alarms going to background after unlock. The "almost perfect" one is s2u but huge memory consuption makes background app's close or restart.
Hello jpl69
Tried this app found it to involved to setup and still does not do what I am looking for which is tap the screen to wake up so I than can unlock the phone using a s2u app. I find it bizarre that there are many apps to unlock the phone but you still have to push the power button to operate them. Surely it can’t take much program writing to add this feature. Jez
We have to push an hardware ley to wake up our devices from a low battery consuption state (suspend mode) and unfortunaly only have the power and volume hard keys so if you want to wake up your device with a tap on screen you'll only have a couple of hours with a full charge.
Now it makes sense why the screen sleeps if the battery only last for a couple of hours. Just a shame that the power button is so fiddly to operate. Jez
Yes, and it makes no sense having an device lock app (except on incoming calls). I only use it because of my 2 year old son that found the little tiny power on key , and made a couple of phone calls.
P.S. with a registry tweak you can enable the volume keys to wake up your device.
May be this could be your appropriate application:

That is brilliant and can be found here.
Simple and effective (needs a reboot after install, and is found under settings.
Just to be helpful... here's the brilliantly useful Reg tweak to allow wake-up from the volume keys.
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd
- set key: defaultkeylock from 1 to 0
- softreset
LockMeLite is definitely my favourite (especially with the above tweak), but as mentioned already, the alarm snooze / disappearing to background problem is a constant frustration.
Hello flid
Sorry for the delay everyone just got back from Canada so been busy catching up and sleeping. So how do I go about tweaking the reg key? I know how navigate to the reg key on a computer but not on my mobile
I changed my left soft key to lock the phone on the Home start screen as it was doing nothing useful except jumping to a phone operators website:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeLSKPath = windows\Endkey.exe
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\Manila\HomeLSKText = Lock (or whether text you want).
You just need a windows mobile registry editor. There are several free ones. My current Dutty ROM has one inbuilt, but from what I can gather the popular options are Total Commander (free!), Schap's Registry (free), PHM RegEdit (which is built in to Dutty's ROM) and Resco Registry Editor (not free - but definitely the most finger friendly). There may well be others.
Hello,
On all previous HTCs, including the original Touch Pro, I used to be able to drag down with my finger to select multiple messages in email (or even files in explorer). This is no longer possible as dragging down with the finger scrolls the whole page. I know it is possible to select messages by going through the menus, but it is a very long-winded way of doing this.
Is there a registry setting somewhere that can turn off this "feature" - it is the same problem even when turning off TouchFLO 3D.
Thanks in advance for any help on this.
Same Issue
I was begining to wonder whether it was just me that had this problem. Anyone know of a fix??
Thanks in advance.
You still can. highlight the item you like to begin with.
Use your soft or hard keyb. to hit "shift" or "ctrl" and start selecting the usual way.
Thanks for the suggestion. I wanted to do it without opening out the keyboard or workarounds like the soft keyboard.
It just really bugs me that perfectly good functionality has been removed in the name of "improvement".
Even a compromise such as being able to drag down to select on the left side of the screen (like Resco Explorer) would be good enough, with the rest of the screen being left for scrolling.
If anyone knows of a registry key or something to fix this, please enlighten me.
Thanks!
this is getting to me to i loke to quickly block delete emails that come in all the time thati dont need etc
Crazy isn't it! Removing the "D" Pad coupled with this loss of 'block selecting' functionality has made the device much more unusable.
even with the keyboard, i am no longer able to select multiple msgs
can someone confirm this?
same here.. still searching for the cause.
When looking at a folder, go Menu -> Select Messages -> Several. Then just touch those you want to delete
Mine lets me do menu.....select messages....several.
/beaten to it
i used to be able to do "SHIFT + DOWN direction key" to select several msg at 1 go
that was on TP1
the function disappeared..
I've been playing with my new Touch Pro 2 for a couple of days. Very nice device, but like any new technological tool it's taking some time to learn my way around.
There are two silly little things about the software keyboard (Touch Input for Pocket PC v2.1) that are driving me insane:
Firstly, it gives a little vibration feedback with each keypress that, for the life of me I cannot figure out how to turn off.
Secondly, I cannot work out how to make the keyboard drop down and disappear - with my old TytnII pressing the little keyboard icon on the screen would drop away the keyboard, but now it brings up a menu page (and there's no menu option either!).
I'd really appreciate some help on these two things - I'm sure it will turn out to be something painfully obviouse!!!
Thanks!
Solution to 1 problem!
Just in case anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, the keyboard can be dropped down again by pressing the keyboard icon on the middle-bottom of the screen BUT it must be pressed on the left side of the icon in Windows 6.5.5. (If you press the right side of the icon you get the menu options - I think this is a result of the old option arrow being hidden under the keyboard icon in 6.5.5 ROMs).
Still no solution to turning off the vibration. I now think it's an error (one of many) in the cooked ROM as the menu item seems to be just missing!
...and solved the other problem
again, just posting this in case anyone reads this thread later in hope of answers!
So, it seems some smart cookie at HTC decided weshould be allowed to turn off the keyboard vibrations (we clearly can't be trusted with such important decisions!) so there is no way to do it from the menus.
Luckily Miri developed a tool to control this on the HD2, and from my initial trial of the disabling cab on the touch pro 2, it seems to work.

As requested I have begun development on a windows mobile version of a program on the iphone called "100 Pushups"
Web Link: http://www.hundredpushups.com/.
The idea of the application is to put you on a 6 week program which will lead you to being able to perform 100 push-ups. This is achieved by performing so many reps, for so many sets, 3 times a week. At the end of each week you will be tested on how many you can do and then a program is worked out for the following week. You can track your progress via bar charts and logs.
GUI PREVIEW VERSION ADDED. SEE POST #115 -(UPDATED 20-09-2010)
There will be 3 stages of the development of the program.
Stage 1 - Functionality.
At this point all I am concerned about is "does it work?". This means the GUI will probably look rubbish but the idea is to ensure the program is doing as it should.
Stage 2 - GUI
Once I'm happy with stage 1 I will begin developing a nice GUI to make a better user experience and to make the program look half decent
Stage 3 - Final
This is the point where I will start adding people's request/suggestions, fine tuning etc. Once done the version will then end Beta and become final build.
See Post 2 for changes log
Requirements:
.Net 3.5 for Windows Mobile
Developed for Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Not sure if it will work on anything less.
Example on how to use
Lets say you start this program on a Sunday
Sunday - Perform as many "good form" push-ups as you can and enter value.
Monday - Do first day Program.
Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - Do second day program.
Thursday - Rest
Friday - Do third day program.
Saturday - Rest
Repeat.
Using the above example, every time you get to Sunday you will be required to enter a new value. This will set the program up for the next weeks training.
NOTE: First Release - Please take the following under consideration before testing.
# This is at Stage 1 so yes it will look rubbish! lol
# The "Good Form" button is disabled at the moment so pushing it will do nothing.
# If the program is in first run mode i.e no push-ups have been logged, pushing the graphs button will display random data. This is just for beta testing.
# This was developed and tested on the HTC HD2 only. I'm not sure what it will look like on other devices as I have none to test with.
# Upon first launch a log file will be created in \My Documents\PushupLog\. I suggest backing this up when trying new versions of this program as it contains all your progress!
# The Graph may not display correctly on other devices and I'm already working on fixing that.
# To clear all the data simply delete the log file located in "\My Documents\Pushuplog\log"
NOTES FOR STAGE 1 BETA TESTERS
If you press the menu button you will notice a sub menu called Debug. Here is an explanation on what the options are.
# Reset Timer - In the "Todays Program" screen, pushing this buttons will set the rest timer to 2 seconds. This is if you wish to quickly skip through the rest periods.
# Maximize - Basically just makes the program full screen (covers top task bar).
# No Limit - Check this if you want the program to ignore when you can perform the next program.
IF YOU ARE UPDATING FROM VERSION 0.1.7 OR BELOW PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING
# Uninstall previous version.
# Go into "\Program Files" folder and delete folder "Pushups". There also maybe a file in the "\Program Files" folder called "100 push-ups - beta", delete this too.
# Go to "\My Documents" and delete the folder named "PushupLog"
Release Log
# 0.1.9 [23/07/2010]
- Added "No Limit" option to Debug menu. Pressing this will cause the application to ignore rest periods between programs. i.e You don't have to wait a day before continuing.
# 0.1.8 [22/07/2010]
- Fixed various issues with resetting log.
- Fixed Graph layout.
- Fixed issue where entering a test value and then resetting the log to a forward date would cause the wrong push-up program to be loaded.
- After performing a test and entering a value, the program will now not allow you to continue with "Todays Program" until 24 hours has passed.
- After completing push-up program for today, you must wait a day before continuing to the next program. This is so you get enough rest.
- After performing a test and entering a value, the new weeks program is added to the calender. Resetting the log will also update calender (not fully tested).
- Added basic Log View which can be accessed via "Logs and Graphs" button.
- Pushing "Rep Completed" button will cause "Perform X Pushups" text to change to "Rest Period".
# 0.1.7 [18/07/2010]
- Reset now only enabled in Main screen
- Fixed issue where entering Test value and then resetting log forward a day, causes you to enter test value again.
- Fixed issue where partially completing today's program and then returning back cause's the display of completed reps to be incorrect.
# 0.1.6 [17/07/2010]
- Complete re-write of log recording. (You old log file will be ignored if present)
- Added "Reset Log" to menu button.
- Added feature to reset log progress back and forward to any given week and week day. To reset log just select "Week 1 and Day 1".
- On first run, if you enter more than 20 on the test screen the program will move you to week 3
- Short cuts now in "Programs Folder" and "Start Menu"
- Program now remembers what set you was doing if you leave "Today's program" and then return back to it. NOTE: this only works while the program is running. You must restart sets again if you close the application.
# 0.1.5.40968 [13/07/2010]
- Removed top and bottom grey tabs to improve layout for low res screens.
- Added Menu button
- Moved Debug --> Rest Timer to Menu button
- Added Maximize to Debug in Menu button. Pressing this will maximize the application which hides the top bar in windows mobile. Press this button again to go back to normal view.
- Added Exit button to Menu button
- Added count down timer sound for stop watch/rest timer. Should kick in at about 6 seconds remaining
- Moved return button to bottom right
# 0.1.4.37187 [12/07/2010]
- Fixed various issues with logging.
- Fixed issue where entering test value and then exiting "Todays Program" will cause you to enter test value again.
- Fixed error occurring when repeatedly pressed "Reps Completed".
- Fixed error occurring when pressing "Return" button while rest timer is activated.
- Developed at 240 x 260 resolution so hopefully any display greater will work ok.
- Added debug Menu with item "Rest Timer". NOTE: Checking this item at the main screen will set the rest timer to always be 2 seconds. This is for people beta testing that want to speed up the rest periods.
# 0.1.3.11738 - [12/07/2010]
- Fixed error occurring when pressing return button on test screen.
# 0.1.2.41712 - [11/07/2010]
- Slight performance increase - switching screens is a little smoother
- A little GUI tweak to get a ruff idea of GUI layout
- After Completing a days program, if you try to do another a message is shown suggesting a days rest.
- Good Form button disabled - not implemented yet.
# 0.1.1.24890 - [10/07/2010]
- Fixed "ArgumentOutOfRangeException" which occurred after entering test result
# 0.1.0.23190 - [08/07/2010]
- First Release
Known Issues
Pressing the Return button on "Todays Program" will cause an error. Don't press it!
Pressing the completed button repeatedly on "Todays Program" may cause an error
This is being developed using a HTC HD2 so smaller screens may see error's with layout. Will try to fix this.

Hi, is the source available for this? i'd be interested in contributing if it is.
thanks for the interest donbing
Sadly I would have to say the source is not available. It's a nice small project for myself and I would like to see it through like this. Once completed, I may think about releasing the source.
If you have any idea's you wish to cntribute then I'm all ears!
Also, if you fancy doing a similar project like this, there is also a similar app called "200 Situps". Basically works the same but you do situps and not push ups. I could easily modify my program to do this but if you fancy doing it then go for it. I would gladly use it
Ok, I installed the tool.
It starts, but thats about it. On my first run, i got an unexpected error.
ArgumentOutOfRangeException.
On the second run, i got ObjectDisposedException. This happened after pressing "completed" in the "todays program" page.
Hope this helps.
Excellant!!! bugs is what I'm after lol
Ok when you first run it you should get a screen with 3 buttons like so
Todays Program
Logs and Gaphs
Good Form
When you click Todays program it should come up with the test screen and asking you to perform some push ups and enter a value. Enter the value, press OK and it should take you to a screen for your first program.
For the first run problem, I just installed a new ROM on my phone and installed the program and now I am having the same problem. Will have a look tonight and hopefully post a fix, if not then tomorrow latest.
As for the problem when pushing the 'Completed' Button, does that occour when you first push the button or the last time you push it? Seem to work fine on my phone.

Got some bugs for you;
first thing is: The goodform button doesn't work, i don't know for what it is used but it doesn't do anything. second of all; the graphs tab just shows some random pushups third: It doesnt say how much push ups you need to do. it says week 1 - day 1 and a complete button + timer. Not how much pushups you need to do. And when i press the complete button a couple of times it crashes.

Right lets take this 1 by 1.
Yes the Good forms button doesn't do anything at the moment, Sorry I should have mentioned. Basically it will just show you how to perform a correct push-up
The Graphs screen will show random stuff if nothing is stored in log i.e first run of the program. This was for beta testing purposes.
When you push the "Todays Program" button, on the first run it should come up with a screen asking for you to do so many push ups and then enter the value. When you enter a value and press ok it should then take you to the "Todays Program" screen where you see the following.
Today (Week 1 - Day 1)
Rest Timer 00
1 - Pushups to perform #
2 - Pushups to perform #
3 - Pushups to perform #
..... etc etc
Press the 'Completed' button after
each rep to start timer
Completed
When you push the 'Todays Program', does it take you to a test screen or does it go straight to the screen I mention in blue above?

I also made a little video for you, to help you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4HgEX_Lu4Q

I can see the problem. It's because your screen size is much smaller than mine so what has happened is the list of push-ups you must perform has shrunk so much that it has become invisible. I'm just about to upload another version which I'm now thinking may not look right on your phone.
Could you try it out and post another video clip?
on tonights version, I get error after return from Todays program on HD2.

Thanks noellenchris for the post
ok let me just understand a bit more on how this error happened.
You clicked "Todays Program" and test screen came up?
You then entered a value and was brought to "Todays Program" screen?
You then completed the days program which was indicated by a message?
Pressing ok on this message brought you back to the main menu?
Did the error occur when you was brought back to the main menu?
Edit
Never mind I think I see what your saying. The error comes when you press return on the "test screen". uploading fix now :-D
Im going to try the new version now! Btw, if you press the return button but the timer is still @ 0 its not crashing, only when the timers counts down
EDIT:
Hmm the GUI is better but the layout on the screen is pretty messed up @ 320x320.
Im uploading a new video now
EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvtB1ZASWAs
you videos are helping alot
ok the next course of action, which I hope I will get finished for tonight, will be this.
# Fix the crash when pressing the return button while the timer is running.
# Fix crash when hitting the completed button multiple times while timer is running.
# Fix the GUI layout for smaller screens :-D
Edit
Try newest version I just uploaded. I developed at a lower res so hopefully it will display better.
Please uninstall the old version first and delete \My Documents\PushupLog\log before installing new one.
Gonna install it now, and make a little video!
EDIT:
The text doesn't fit the screen, the size is ok but you cannot scroll down. Also, the timer uses 2 seconds each rep, it needs to be 60?
