Hardware key to disconnect GPRS? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Does anyone know of an app that will allow me to assign a hardware key to close a GPRS/3G connection? I have AE Button Plus but that doesn't offer this option.

Go to SETTINGS-PERSONAL-BUTTONS and you will find a tab named "End Key". You can set there to close data connection by long pressing the home button.

Long pressing end buttton does close data connection, but it start automatically a few minutes later. Any ideas?

search this section for "no push internet" and you will find the cabfiles to install that will mean when you terminate the data connection it STAYS terminated until you manually trigger it (updating weather, running a browser etc)

02 ORBIT cant get gprs to work

I cant get a "G" signal on my screen where as on my wizard it was there all the time.???
Any Ideas would be appreciated?
GPRS settings
The following is some info I got from O2 when struggling with the same problem
--------------
Initial Setup (normally done when switching the XDA on for the first time)
1. Tap 'Start'.
2. Tap 'Programs'.
3. Tap 'O2 Operator Settings'.
4. Check that the 'I want to do auto configuration now...' box is ticked.
5. Tap on the drop down box and tap the settings you require.
6. Tap 'OK'.
7. The phone will now download the settings then ask you to restart the phone for the settings to work.
8. The phone may hang at this point – it is now time to learn about the soft re-set mechanism !
Data Setup
The following may be required to make the default network connection HTTP rather than WAP:
1. Go to settings/connections/connections
2. Click on the advanced tab and "select networks", make sure BOTH say using "MY ISP"
Standard Settings
The following are all the manual settings for connecting to data if yours get lost
How do I manually check / setup the GPRS Web settings?
Go to [Start]
Tap [Settings]
Tap [Connections]
Tap [Connections]
Under [My ISP] tap [Manage Existing Connections]
Tap [Edit]. If this is not present tap [Add a new modem connection]
The [Select a Modem] drop-down box should be set to:
XDA Exec: [Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)]
XDA Mini S / Orbit: [Cellular Line (GPRS)]
Tap [Next]
The [Access Point Name] should be set to: mobile.o2.co.uk
Tap [Next]
The [Username] should be set to: o2web
The [Password] should be set to: password
Leave [Domain] blank
Tap [Advanced]
On the [TCP/IP] tab, only [Use Server-assigned IP Address] should be selected
Tap the [Servers] tab
Select [ Use Specific Server Addresses]
DNS: 193.113.200.200
Alt DNS: 193.113.200.201
Tap [ok]
Tap [Finish]
Thank you very much for your quick reply .
your very kind gonna have a bash now
EDIT tried this when i try to connect it does the gprs sign with arrows going left and right
then its says "cannot connect the remote party has ended the connection"
There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network
Soft reset thats the power button held in and follow screen options isnt it?
regards andy
O2 GPRS
Soft reset sometimes helps - stick the stylus into the little hole on the bottom left.
Also, the instructions I got were for O2 in the UK, don't khow what happens if you are elsewhere
Hope this helps

that error is usually either the wrong user name or password.
Very nice, Mr Tilbury - fixed my O2 with a flashed ROM image a treat!
GPRS won't work
Glad to be of service

Network Managing Today Screen

Hi,
i hope someone can help me with my little issue with WM6. In the connection manager i have 2 connections "My ISP" & "My Work" and on each there are again 2 connections "Nothing" & "T-Mobile". What i want is that i can change via shortcut or button on the todayscreen between "Nothing"&"T-Mobile" from "My ISP" & "My Work".
My Problem is that my interent goes by time and sometimes he just connects to the internet and i don't recognize it. Last time i was over 30 minutes online until i recognized
I also don't understand why he sometimes chooses "My ISP" and then "My Work" (however, both have the same entrys), but the important thing for me is that i need to change it quickly via button on the today screen. I found a registry entry where the connections are - in HKCU/Comm/Rasbook/ - but i can't find the value where he chooses which connection is currently used/active.
Hope someone can help me

Connection pop-up

I somehow managed to stop the pop up that shows up when starting a connection. The little window that pops up when starting a data connection, it says what network you are connecting to, and gives you the cancel or hide option. I don't know how I did this, but I got it to stop. I never really noticed until I reflashed my ROM and it came back. I looked in Schap's advanced config, but don't see that option.
If anyone knows how I can disable this again I would enjoy not seeing this anymore.
Thanks!

start, settings, connections, click on menu and untick the enable on startup!
PS, if you are flashing again, why not try CRC's latest, definitely faster than 9.2!

I must be missing something... Start > Settings > Connections, where is "menu"? If I click on Connections, there is Tasks or Advanced.
What am I missing?
Also, I am downloading CRCs 13.0 right now.

connection setup sorry
I see what you mean. We are talking about different things. I mean the little pop-up at the top of the screen that pops up when you open IE or something else that uses data connection. It has the little arrow pointing to the signal meter, it says "Connecting to GPRS, 3G" then has 2 buttons that say Cancel or Hide. It goes away once connected. This isn't the network setup wizard, it's just the warning that you are starting a data connection.

whoa sorry, ... didn't know you can do that! will wait for some other expert to come up with solution.
Found it!!!
Go to <Start>, <Settings>, then click on <Sounds and Notifications>.
In there, go to "Notifications" tab and then choose "Connection established" from the drop-down box. You should see "Display message on screen" checked. Uncheck that box and those connection messages should not show up again!

I see this in all the ROMs i have flashed, everytime the phone an internet connction thru GPRS or 3G. I think this is a part on the software's notifications. So maybe there is now way of disabling it.

Quakie, you are an absolute star! This has been driving me mad for over a year. With TomTom running, and as you drift in and out of phone service area, this pop-up would appear. TomTom would then freeze until the pop-up was physically cancelled. Really annoying.
Now fixed, and one less distraction when driving.

Verizon Touch Pro 2 Network Login Prompt

Hi guys, sorry if my question has been asked and answered, but I've done a weeks worth of searching and just haven't found anything relevant.
Whenever I open a browser (Opera, Skyfire, IE) I get a 'Network Logon' prompt. If I hit the ok button it goes away and I can surf just fine, if I hit the cancel button it keeps popping back up.
I must of hit something because this didn't happen right out of the box. Hopefully someone can tell if this annoying prompt can be disabled or configured correctly so it won't popup anymore.
Thanks Ahead!

Luckily I was able to find a resolution. As stated above shouldn't require to enter any login info just to wireless surf. What I did is simply check the 'remember me' radio button and presto no more nag screen
I would get this prompt also. I narrowed it down to a few app I was installing. For me hitting cancel you work but I would often lose the ability to get stock quotes updates. I hit ok once and lost all ability to connect. I have stopped installing the fallowing and no longer have the issue:
1. Internet Radio
2. Groovefish

Bypass "factory data protection" help?

tl;dr bought phone with box and everything, had pattern in it, put into recovery wiped it, now it's a brick.
So I bought a HTC One M9 from someone off of craigslist for $350. It was dead when I bought it, but I got pics of it with it on and functioning. It came with the box, charger and everything. So it had a pattern lock on it so I just put it into recovery mode and wiped it. Now it needs the original account to activate it. I've got a hold of the original person and they gave me the password and email but they reset the password so I think I have to wait 72 hours which is Tuesday night hopefully. But what if it doesn't work? Can I bypass it?

So i have managed to get into the settings of the phone, so I've managed some progress at least!!
From the start up press next
Go to add another network, click advance options, proxy manual
add a couple letters under proxy hostname, push and hold what you added and select share
Select Messages, select yes, then allow
Push the three dots on the top right corner and select "Tips & Help" Press allow
Push the three lines by "how tos" select "diagnostics tools" push "phone storage"
Select Apps, scroll down to "Setup Wizard" select it, then push the i that's in a circle " force stop" it, select "ok"
At this point you should have all three navigation buttons on the screen at the bottom, pull the notification bar down and hit the gear. You're now in the settings of the phone!
You can enable developer options but it won't let you access them, but you're able to access all of the settings in the phone, but I'm not able to get to the home screen. But it's progress, maybe we can figure out a bypass with this information....

Yes, but it doesn't show any intonation in it. I was able to wipe the phone but it didn't clear the protection. The password the person gave to me after 72 hours finally worked, so I have a somewhat functioning M9. The signal is messed up it keeps dropping service. Verizon is sending me a new device, should be here later today.
