Any Ideas would be appreciated?

GPRS settings
The following is some info I got from O2 when struggling with the same problem
--------------
Initial Setup (normally done when switching the XDA on for the first time)
1. Tap 'Start'.
2. Tap 'Programs'.
3. Tap 'O2 Operator Settings'.
4. Check that the 'I want to do auto configuration now...' box is ticked.
5. Tap on the drop down box and tap the settings you require.
6. Tap 'OK'.
7. The phone will now download the settings then ask you to restart the phone for the settings to work.
8. The phone may hang at this point – it is now time to learn about the soft re-set mechanism !
Data Setup
The following may be required to make the default network connection HTTP rather than WAP:
1. Go to settings/connections/connections
2. Click on the advanced tab and "select networks", make sure BOTH say using "MY ISP"
Standard Settings
The following are all the manual settings for connecting to data if yours get lost
How do I manually check / setup the GPRS Web settings?
Go to [Start]
Tap [Settings]
Tap [Connections]
Tap [Connections]
Under [My ISP] tap [Manage Existing Connections]
Tap [Edit]. If this is not present tap [Add a new modem connection]
The [Select a Modem] drop-down box should be set to:
XDA Exec: [Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)]
XDA Mini S / Orbit: [Cellular Line (GPRS)]
Tap [Next]
The [Access Point Name] should be set to: mobile.o2.co.uk
Tap [Next]
The [Username] should be set to: o2web
The [Password] should be set to: password
Leave [Domain] blank
Tap [Advanced]
On the [TCP/IP] tab, only [Use Server-assigned IP Address] should be selected
Tap the [Servers] tab
Select [ Use Specific Server Addresses]
DNS: 193.113.200.200
Alt DNS: 193.113.200.201
Tap [ok]
Tap [Finish]

Thank you very much for your quick reply .
your very kind gonna have a bash now
EDIT tried this when i try to connect it does the gprs sign with arrows going left and right
then its says "cannot connect the remote party has ended the connection"
There is a problem connecting to the GPRS service in your registered home network
Soft reset thats the power button held in and follow screen options isnt it?
regards andy

O2 GPRS
Soft reset sometimes helps - stick the stylus into the little hole on the bottom left.
Also, the instructions I got were for O2 in the UK, don't khow what happens if you are elsewhere
Hope this helps

that error is usually either the wrong user name or password.

Very nice, Mr Tilbury - fixed my O2 with a flashed ROM image a treat!

GPRS won't work
Glad to be of service

Contacts

I run the B&B 4.0 on my artemis. I copied al my contact from my sim to the phone. When i want to call somebody the name of the contacts is twice. How can i delete the contacts on my phone easily.
Another question. When I touch the weather tab on the htc home. It connects to the gprs. Is there a way to cancel the weather tab?

You could remove the sim, restart. Then select all contacts and delete them. Then when you re-insert your sim you should see only one set of contacts.
NOTE: BE SURE YOU'VE GOT THEM ON ON YOUR SIM BEFORE DELETING THEM FROM YOUR PHONE.
For the second issue, there's a program amongst these forums called NoData. This allows you to enable/disable gprs with a single click.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=310087
Stopping Auto Download of Weather Data
Alternatively yo can select the city name on the weather display which gives you the city selection page. Select Menu option > Weather Options and there you can uncheck the Download Weather Automatically tick box (and also select the Temperature scale to be used).
After doing this select Done, then OK on the city select page.
Now the weather data will not download automatically but you can refresh the data if you click on the time since last download displayed in the top right of the download window.
Hope this helps,
Neil

Thats a much better solution!
Thanks mates it worked.
for the contacts issue, I use the hide SIM contact.cab found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1424544&postcount=1
Another option is to use the Start > Programs > Applications > SIM Manager in B&B 4.0, this program allows you to copy contacts to and from the SIM and to delete contacts from the SIM.

Auto Connection

Hi,
my Vario V (T-Mobile Version of the TP2) automatically connects to the internet all the time, even after a softreset!
It happens even if no other application is open. Push-Mail is not enabled!
Are there any hints what I can do, to get that fixed?
Best Regards,
Ulaef
Mine too! it connects at a random fashion, even though everything is turned off. Anyone with probable rootcause & solution
Possible solution
Not sure whether this works but this is what I do to disable my TP2 auto connection
1. Disable push emails in activesync
2. In the weather tap, go to menu -> settings -> untick "download weather automatically"
3. In the internet tap, go to menu -> schedule settings -> untick all day & time scheduled download
4. In the internet tap, menu -> data settings -> turn off "push internet"
5. In the people tap, -> all people -> updates and events -> menu -> data connection settings -> untick download data automatically (it downloads every 2 hours).
Hope i didn't miss out anything. Please try and see
Cheers,
Push email and weather update is disabled. The T-Mobile branding has no option for push internet! I removed the registry value. Even in my contact tab i found no event option. Maybe its a feature hidden by t-mobile which is still active!?
Can't wait for HardSPL to get an official HTC-ROM.

MMS Messaging for 3VOLUTION SERIES 3VO.1.40.070109 ?

I've installed the 3VOLUTION SERIES 3VO.1.40.070109 and I noticed that although I can configure the MMS settings in GPRS, I can't configure the additional options required in the MMS settings (per T-Mobile's instructions) as these options do not exist.
I also tried the ArcSoft software, although it installs it seems to be only designed for PPC's or Windows Mobile Professional as the menus bleed beneath the S621's screen size. Although I was able to configure it, I couldn't confirm my settings and exit the screen.
I also tried the later ROM, but I experienced too many issues with my Internet connections that I didn't experience with the earlier ROM.
Are there any options for establishing the required MMS settings with this ROM or is there a WM6 Standard version of ArcSoft that I could use to enable MMS settings to work?
Thank you,
Tim
what countries tmobile mms setting do you need? perhaps then we can help find you a solution. you should be using the 3VO.2.00.071809 release since it is the most recent and is nearly flawless. although ookba had made and additional settings cab for earlier version for mms setting. i'll send you the cab in a pm if you don't want to reflash to the newest version
I have T-Mobile USA, came over with my HTC-S621 from Suncom. The settings are configured in the 'settings, connection, gprs area'. But in the actual MMS area which is now threaded with SMS, there is no longer an option to input the required settings. The option just no longer exists... must be a 6.5 feature or something.
Thank you,
Tim
attached cab here since i couldn't send it to you.
Thank you! I'll try it out and let you know.

if it doesn't work you should reflash to the latest version and set you connection setting the tmobile usa. it should fix everything from that point. i got my phone in israel and the settings work fine with tmobile usa. additionally if you don't want to flash again reset you connection with the connection setup found in the start menu and restart your phone.
I installed the update, but the '3VO Settings Update.cab' file doesn't seem to address the missing MMS settings field.
Here are the T-Mobile instructions.
T-Mobile MMS Settings:
Setting up the data account <---- This portion is available for setup.
1. Tap Start.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap on the Connections tab.
4. Tap the Connections icon.
5. Tap Add a new modem connection under T-Mobile GPRS.
6. Enter PictureMessaging in the Enter a name for the connection field.
7. Tap to select Cellular Line (GPRS) from the Select a modem drop down list.
8. Tap Next.
9. Enter wap.voicestream.com in the Access point name field.
10. Tap Next.
11. Tap Finish.
Setting up the MMS profile <--- this part isn't available in the new ROM.
1. Tap Start again.
2. Tap Messaging.
3. Tap Menu.
4. Tap MMS Configuration.
5. Tap the Servers tab.
6. Tap New.
7. Enter PictureMessaging in the Server Name field.
8. Enter 216.155.165.050 in the Gateway field.
9. Enter 8080 in the Port number field.
10. Enter http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms in the Server address field.
11. Tap to select T-Mobile GPRS from the Connect via drop down list.
12. Tap to select WAP 2.0 from the WAP Version dropdown.
13. Tap OK.
14. Scroll to PictureMessaging and tap Set As Default.
15. Tap OK.
The new MMS profile is now configured and ready for use.
Any other ideas?
Thank you,
Tim
These are not present in the NRG27 Energy 6.5 ROM either. This is the first I heard of these setting too. Although that does not mean much since I have never used picture messages.
I just go to start/accessories and run the connection setup, set my phone to USA and T-mobile and it works as it should...my MMS messages go through just fine
Maybe posting this in the correct thread would be a good idea??
There is a "MMS Settings" selection in Settings.

I posted it here because once a thread gets as large as yours a post can get lost in the 'noise'.
I did look for a MMS Settings page under settings, but I can't find one. I also tried the Internet Connections Wizard but that didn't work for me. In fact, using that messed up my other connections.
I used my SbBackup to restore it back so that my Internet would work again. However, I really don't think it's necessarily your ROM, I think that perhaps my SUNCOM Sim Chip doesn't want to cooperate with T-Mobile or something.
But I was hoping to find the menu page to configure the settings in MMS to try again, but it seems in WM6.5, Microsoft didn't think they were needed.
I would just run into a T-Mobile store and see if they could help me, but I don't think they would want to help me since I'm not on a ROM that they'd customarily support.
With exception to the MMS, everything else is working great!
Thank you,
Tim

the reason why people think that a post will get lost inside of any thread is 'cause people don't search, or search inside a thread. If a thread has 100 pages and anyone has a question, but doesn't want to sit thru 100 pages, they should use the search this thread feature a the top, that's available when you're reading a thread, you do a search like any other time except this feature will only search inside the opened thread.
By making multiple threads with different questions about the same rom, app, system, bug, whatever, all it does when someone actually does a search, it gives them that many more results , that are gonna have to be read in order to find the answer.
That's the main reason for all of us to encourage everyone to please post questions on the proper thread, instead of making a new one.

[Q] CM7 RC 1.5, help with MMS

Just flash my Defy with CM7 RC 1.5. It is very good, i am now happy.
Only one problem for now, can't send and receive any MMS message.
It is always: Currently unable to sent your message. It will be sent when service became available.
Checked APN, baseband, everything is OK. Also flash new nigthly, but without any result.
Any solution?
Tnx
Nordic works fine
After flashing nordic (step one, flashing CM 7 RC 1.5), i was able to send and receive MMS, but again, on CM 7 same error.
Please, anybody?
Tnx
I'm on same build and I have just tested sendind myself a MMS: works fine.
Just make sure that data is enabled and if you use DroidWall that you did not check the 3G/Data box of 'Messaging' or 'Any applications' [in the blacklist mode].
I also have problems receiving mms.
I received them because of froyo without 3g connection?

i have the same problem, and i do not know how to fix it.
PS, maybe it related to the setting "Data enable(enable data access over Mobile network)", i disabled it, if enable, huge data will transport and cost a lot.

Well, without [Wireless & networks/Mobile networks/Data enabled] checked you will will not be able to send MMS: plain and simple. You want to send a picture over your 2G phone carrier: yes there will be fees for that.
You don't want any other things to use 2G data while you send your MMS: fair enough! So now you have to learn how to do that.
So you could spend some time going through each and every application and service on your phone that might do so and disable any automatic updating: for emails, facebook, Market ads and what not... but it could be tedious.
The easiest way for you to achieve this would be to use Droidwall [like I originally referrred to above ]. In there you will find 2 modes: 1- black list that blocks selected apks to access either wifi or 3G/data and 2- white list that does the opposite.
So install Droidwall [free from Market], make sure you select black list mode on top. And oh! you need root to use this so make sure that you also click "Allow" and check the 'remember' box when you see the Superuser permission request screen the first time.
Once that is done, seleck/check everything on the second column EXCEPT "Messaging" AND the first box called "(Any application)- Same as selecting all applications"
Additionally, select any application from the first column that you KNOW should not access internet at all (on wifi this time) --> as a bonus, doing so will block any ads from those free applications
Press the menu button and press "Apply rules" [or "save rules" the first time??] and make sure that you see "Firewall enabled" with a green line through it.
On the picture attached, you can see that I've selected the (Any application) for 3G/data instead of all except the 2 I told you. I leave it that way to block all data and when I need to send MMS, I unchecked it (and press "apply rules") for just the short time of sending the message then I re-enable it afterwards.
Any other questions? Lol - just joking I'm no Android help line hehe!
But I hope that this helped you guys; if so, you can log-in and hit that "Thanks" button here bellow: -->

Using Active2 LTE with an independent phone plan

I'm using RM-R835F (this is LTE capable) which is paired to my phone using BT. My career currently doesn't support numbershare so I can't set LTE up from the phone Galaxy Wear app (I'm in Canada).
What I want to do is to get a new plan for the watch with a separate number and everything. So the watch should have a separate phone number and data plan.
I saw some steps to use the watch completely independent of the phone. However I want to keep getting app notifications from the phone over BT. For talk, text and data from the watch, I want to use the separate plan and number for the watch.
Is there a way to achieve this? I searched around but couldn't find a way so far.
Thanks in advance!
I use separate from the phone plane with indepedent number. I have all notifications from phone and use watches for calls and sms from its esim phone number. Set Always On in mobile settings on watch.
P.S? It may cause battery drain due always on mobile network on the watches.

On the watch just go into settings, connections, mobile networks and set mobile networks to always on. Make sure mobile data is on as well (right below mobile networks). Then under connections menu check to make sure under data usage, mobile data is on as well.

He means steps to connect esim with indepedent number. In my country no one operator have possibility to work in watch officially (menu with QR code is hidden). So we get to this menu by simple manipulations.
Here is an instruction:
1. Go to Galaxy Wearable on your phone -> at the bottom of the list, select "About Galaxy Wearable" -> tap quickly 5 times on the label " Galaxy Watch Plugin"
2. In the menu that opens, go to the "Test SIM Feature" section and turn on the "Current QR TestMode" and "Current Test Mode" items (the later may not be necessary)
3. Go Galaxy Wearable on your phone to "Mobile networks" - > select any SIM card
4. After the window displays that "failed", a button appears at the bottom of the screen, now you can to connect any esim card by scanning QR code.

Thanks! I have enabled the option on my phone. I'll get a QR code and give it a go today.
Update: Got my esim from a provider in Canada that's not officially supported by Samsung. However calls and texts seem to work just fine after adding the plan to watch. Haven't tried using data yet.

Yes mine gets notification from both. Your watch must be connected to your provider. Try disconnecting BT connection and send a text to your watch while it's connected to the provider to test.

Guys, please help me!
I tried these settings but something I f*cked up.
Now In step3, "select any sim card" is not possible for me, because it always uses some weird test data ((
So when I hit "Add mobile plan", it is not asking anything just goes ahead and tries activating some silly test plan
Is there a way out without wiping the phone to 0? And probably trashing it away..
Hi if you have already scanned the esim QR code then you need to ask your provider to generate another or find another esin somewhere as the QR can normally only be use once on many providers.
The watch can only hold 2 esim profiles so look under settings mobile plans to see if any are present ... and if required make space by deleting UNUSED esim plans.....
when you have checked that you will have space for the new esim profile ...proceed as described above ....by the other members...
but follow carefully and it should work ...

I haven't already scanned the esim QR. I just tapped 5 times on the plugin version, and looked around in that menu.
Before that, when I hit "Add mobile plan", my phone showed a dialog asking which plan I want to use (my phone holds 2 SIM).
But after I went into that hidden menu and tried some options there, my phone is not asking which plan I want to use.
And analysing the watch's SDB log, I can see that it tries activating a mobile plan which is not on my phone. It is the test plan I might selected when I was in that hidden plugin menu.
That's why I'm asking if you are aware of any option which could help my phone to get back it's "normal" operation and ask my desire of which mobile plan I want to activate.
after clicking 5 times on the plugin version a new menu pops up
if you have then selected QR testmode then go back to the main wear app you should get asked to scan a QR code with the phone cam when you select manage mobile plan ....note i normally reboot the phine after changing the test qr code.
to reset to nornal just click 5 times on plugin version then deselect QR testmode and any other options you have clicked in the past then reboot the ohone and then load the wear app again ..the next time you select manage mobile plan the app will try to add a mobile plan from your phones sim provider as normal...
First I haven't even selected QR testmode, I only looked into that menu, and tried selecting options within Automatic eSIM. I clicked eSim Auto Test, and selected an operator there. After that I clicked on "Reset auto test values".
After that wearable app is not asking me which SIM I want to use during "Add mobile plan" and it uses by default that test MCC and MNC which I selected in "Auto Test" in plugin's hidden menu.
I tried restarting the phone, the watch. Tried completely removing wearables, and reinstalling, this made my watch reset to factory as well.
Even after this process, wearable is not asking me which SIM I want to use.
Now after all, I finally succeed with activation with QR code, and don't want (can) add more plans to the watch, so I'm satisfied, just wanted to let you know that you can really have chance screwing up things in that menu!
Guys, this method is not working anymore as the updated Wearable app doesn't contain this 5tap-magic.
Do you know any other way to enable the QR-testmode with the latest wearable app (2.2.42.21.083061 + watch active2 plugin: 2.2.08.21081751)
Is (was) this menu implemented in the plugin or the wearable app? I'm trying to find the spots in the apks.
Thx
Forgive me. Have to press 5times on "Galaxy Wearable" label now.
Edit: i think i do not own the same model :/
