Signal Problem - Radio upgrade and/or downgrade - Touch CDMA Windows Mobile ROM Development

I'm having a signal problem, where my signal levels goes up and down the entire day, sometimes it could say No Signal....
Any idea???
I was thinking maybe upgrading or downgrading my Radio Version, please help... right now I'm on 3.42.30, is that the latest? Which other radio version u guys recommend....
Thanks

Are you on a road trip?
Do you have Verizon?

I notice the thing happening in places where I use to have full signal before changing my old Motorola w385.

I was asking about Verizon because they have done 2 roaming updates in the last 2 months.
What carrier?

Try to re-flash the radio to 3.42.30 again....I have radio 3.42.50 on my old Vogue

I'm on MetroPCS I have just re-flashed the phone with original Sprint ROM and problem persists....
How can I upgrade to 3.42.50???? My phone is Sprint, can I load Bell ROM to get that radio version???

I was able to upgrade my radio version to 3.42.50, thanks to ski21.... however my problem persists. I read that could be something with the wrong Checksum....
Someone has an idea on how can I verify the checksum?
PD. I have the radio versions, 3.42.30, 3.42.40 and 3.42.50... if someone need one of them PM.

Issue with Radio Upgrade

My radio initially is the original official radio, but then I want to upgrade to it 1.17.25.09.
Then I read some post saying that I should downgrade it to 1.02.xxxx or below, then I can unlock the security lock.
However, I think I misunderstand it and just downgrade it by flashing the radio, I think I am supposed to flash a rom which has an old radio with it.
But lucky that time I was able to upgrade it without security unlock my phone.
Now I just flash the radio 1.17.25.09 straight away, and now my radio is 1.17.25.09.
However, there is a little problem now.
I wasn't able to connect to the wifi internet I usually connect to, is it the problem of the radio? or is the problem of the ROM? Can I do some test to ensure my wifi function is correctly working?
Just one more question, what does the flashing a new ROM affect/change the performance of the phone?
Many thanks for reading this long thread, hope I can get some answers
I think the wifi Problem is a Problem of the rom, because 2 years ago i put a new rom on my htc wizard and then i was no longer able to connect to my home network.
Hope i was able to help a bit!
Thank you for your reply, I will try to flash a new room tonight and see whether it is functioning

Baseband question

Hey guys I have a question about baseband compatibility
My GNex is completely stock 4.1.1 and is rooted.
I was on bigxies ROM running uglc1 and I seemed to have better reception with it.
Thing is, ever since I went back to stock, I've tried flashing the same radio over xxlf1 and I can't get any service. I am experiencing the same issues once again such as random signal loss and no service. I ran GetRil and everything is good there.
So is it that you just cant run a different baseband on a factory installed rom or am I doing something wrong?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Not all radio versions are compatible with every version of Android. This sounds like you have a GSM version of the GNex as I myself have a the CDMA/LTE version but in some cases when new version of Android come out or leak or what have you it's best to keep current the radio versions with the OS.... If that helps or makes sense at all. I do know that on the CDMA/LTE JellyBean updates I'm still using the radio versions from 4.0.4 with it and it's perfectly fine. Have you always had the loss in signal or is this only of recent with testing different radios?

I got it to work. Apparently some thunderstorms knocked out at&t service last night and I was flashing radios during it so when I got done, I couldn't pull any service down. While I'm still without signal, I know its not a radio issue now. Thanks for the response

[Q] Radio flashing?

Assuming that most users use their phone in the region they bought it why would you flash a another one, since the original was probably optimized for their region. Will flashing all these various ROMs also change my radio? Also...is radio the baseband?

Depending on where and when you got your phone could mean a newer, faster radio might have come out. I do believe radios are area specific, but not sure.
I think any radio for the t989 will work but your data speeds, call clarity or even phone performance might take a hit.
Usually roms wont erase or put another radio on and if they do you can always just flash the proper radio.
Generally going from rom to rom while doing a full wipe will not remove your installed radio. And yes the baseband is your radio version.
Hope this helps, I only have a basic understanding and usually try to stick to the radio my provider pre-loaded.

[Q] Phone has no signal

This is my first smart phone, I had a Asus TF700 tablet that i unlocked and did a lot of custom ROM work on. Well I am military moving back to the US soon and i was visiting to take my wife back. I bought a Verizon M8 that of course was unlocked but i was going to use t-mobile. While in the states i had the issues that is common with this setup and was losing 4g, couldnt text while on 4g, etc. At this point i flew back over to europe and thought i could use t-mobile's deal of unlimited text and data in other countries. But i dont receive a signal at all. Started looking into how to unlock and custom ROM to fix the issues. I watched all the videos and read the how-tos that i could find and did the firewater to S-off and unlock. I installed TWRP 2.7.1.0 since it was the latest on the TWRP website. I changed over to superCID. I have installed viperONE M8 ROM. I tried flashing the ATT radios that i could find in tread on the regular M8 boards but after i flashed it, it would boot up all the way, i still didnt get any bars for signal but after about 5 minutes it would just reboot. i reflashed my originial radio and it worked fine again. Well i just tried to flash the WWE radio and same thing happened. Is there something i am missing to flash radios and not have it bootloop? Also, anyone have any ideas on what i can do to get signal on my phone? I have data roaming enabled and anything else i can find about roaming enabled. Thanks for any help.
In a nutshell you purchased the wrong unit.
The Verizon unit is a CDMA based version of the HTC One M8. So the Sprint and verizon share similar radios.
Your trying to use that on a GSM network. Not compatible.
You would need an AT&T / T-Mobile or Google Play Edition version for what your trying to do.
Some people have bricked their phones flashing CDMA to GSM and visa verse so be careful. Theres a lot more detail there but that pretty much covers it.

Signal Dropping after Bootloader/Modem Downgrade

heyho!
the last week i nstalled the MM version for the LG G4 and flashed the required bootloader/modem/boot. After having tested the rom and being unconfident with it, i downgraded to a 5.1.1 Version and flashed again bootloader/modem/boot.
Now i got lots of Signal Dropping during the usage, cant even figure out, but i guess it has to do something with the downgraded stuff. Even tried to upgrade to MM again, but after having flashed the Bootloader modem stuff, the problem still exists. I even got only H+ in Areas where i former had LTE.
Did somebody got these problems too and can tell me how to fix it?
Hello Flooi,
for if you were able to fix? also I have your same problem and I'm going crazy.
I'm going crazy too. G4 finds networks, but no 3G networks. What can I do? I'm at Genisys Rom.
