Dash Weather

Does anyone know if they are ever going to get Dash Weather working? The radar maps work, but the forecasts do not. Anyone else having any luck?

i wrote the dash weather app...i've found the bug (doesn't work on my moto q9h) but i plan to do a rewrite of the app to fix it. i might be able to release an interim build in the near future so look out for update after the new year.

TouchFLO 3D Weather Issue

Hi folks. I don't know what to do here. I have a brand new HTC Touch Pro2 (HTC Rhodium), as you probably know that this device offers TouchFLO 3D. TouchFLO has a weather gadget built in it. When I go ahead and tell it to find my CITY, it doesn't find it. I give it my ZIP code, it doesn't find it, I give it a nearby ZIP code it doesn't find that one also, nearby city is not found as well. My zip is 18966, but in regards to weather forecast we use nearby ZIP code. My zip code belongs to two towns and the town that usually comes up for my ZIP is a bit far from me. So we always use nearby city's ZIP code. But this app doesn't find any of them. My zip is 18966, but for this purpose we always use 18954. This city is 5 minutes away, rather then using my real zip code 18966 that is also shared with a town that is 25 minutes away.
So what can I do to maybe input more zip codes to find? AccuWeather.com - finds all of the zip codes mentioned. What should I do??

You can only add cities which are already listed. But you can add any city that is listed in AccuWeather, using the editor in the thread below:

Thank You. But as I understand this is a separate application. So I will have that on my TouchFLO and then this one that I will install would be just an application? I don't really want to have another application. It won't be on my TODAY's screen. I would need to run it. Unless I misunderstand this app. Is this going to replace the one I have??

Great, now I'm freak'in toasted. I tried to follow the directions in the linked instructions and now I have no weather at all andit crashes the touchflow on my TP2.
I am on the original rom.
Any suggestions please?

No, it replaces the original city/zip database with a much larger one, and the touchflo weather tab just uses the new database.

If so, than I need to understand this bit batter. If in future, after I do this, if I would need to do a hard reset; this won't affect it, right? If I do this, this will be permanently??

Help with your problem
If you don't mind doing a hard reset, then I would sugest that. You were given good info. go to the previous link. What you have to do is this. Have a storage card that you can download software to. keep a folder for the software that you have tried and want to reinstall if you have to do another hardreset. What you have to do is FIRST install MICROSOFT .NET CF 3.5 after that, then you can install CONFLIPPER NORTHAMERICA WEATHER v.5 After you do these two steps, then you can go to the WEATHER TAB and select to add a city. It will take a little while to get things going, but just be patient. I have it installed on my phone. I GOOGLED your zip. SOUTHHAMPTON,PA I then went to my weather tab and selected your city and it came up. As of 09:43 AM on Jan. 7,2010 the weather in your town was SUNNY 32% with a High of 37% and a Low of 26% for today. It works. Trust what you are being told. we all here were nubes at one time or another. We have tweaked and hacked our Smartphones. We share with everyone, so we can get help when we need it. This is just one issue. You will run into more and you will most likely get the answers that you need by keeping up with the forums. Try another browser called SKYFIRE. It's great. It is the browser that I have used almost since the day I got my TP2. Hope this also helps. Pay it foward!

strange as I live in Holland PA also. Yeah 18966 comes up as Southampton, but that is only a couple miles away. It should all be good.(Weather wont be that different!)
Also if your on the 6.5 ROM the my location function usually goes all the way to my development by name!

Not for me!! I need to find 18954 not 18966 (Richboro is closer to Holland/Northampton Township than Southampton)
But, it doesn’t find any of them. I turned it off, and I use regular Home Screen. Besides Regular Home screen also tells you what day of the week it is, TouchFLO 3D doesn't do it. I’ll be glad to try to update from my 6.1 to 6.5 though.

HTC Peep - Notification Sound Issue

When I fisrt login and HTC Peep downloads tweets for the first time, the notification sound works. When tweets are next downloaded, it doesn't. Doesn't matter if this is set to download automatically or manually.
Anyone got any ideas for a fix? (Apart from throwing my device at HTC)

Got exactly the same problem. Would be strange if nobody else is affected.
Have been using two different ROM's and installed the latest security update for HTC peep.
Still HTC peep is only making the notification sound the very first time.

I reported them some issues and they made a fix for me. After a month of continually reminding them ;D Also... Try to write in different languages to different HTC region departments. According to my experience it speeds up the process

That would be wrong to suggest the HD2 is out of support as I recently enquired about the old Peep problems and it got done almost instantly.
It never really bothered me that much but I'm finding I use Peep more and more and now require the instant notification anyway if you buy a product it should live up to the apps etc that it came with and my HTC HD2 with windows and Android is still pretty much in the game

How the heck did you get them to make you anything? I've been fighting with them for over a month now to make one single change to the Peep application to use HTTPS instead of HTTP basic for the session. I ever told them how to fix it. It would take one programmer half an afternoon at most to fix it, but they keep telling me that they have no information to give me. They are very frustrating people!

Yesterday I asked for help to get rid of that boring flip of the digital clock on Home Screen. Today they told me to do a long press on the clock to change clock layout, knowing that wouldn't give an answer to my original question...

No not a clue on that one I'm afraid!
I would love to know how to have just the home page background picture to look at instead of the clock, calender section, quick links, weather and quick lauch buttons at the bottom!

Change Weather Cities on TP2 WINMO 6.5

I just got my TP2 two days ago and I love it!
I need to change the weather to find my city but unfortunately none of the hacks on here work for me.
I looked in the windows folder to find certain file but it wasn't there.
Maybe it has to do with me being on the official HTC 6.5 update??
I would prefer to edit a file and not install another application.
Any help is appreciated.

if u got windows mobile 6.5 with TF3D, u should just be able to click on the weather tab. press menu. and a slew of options appear. one of them being to add a new location or city. i think u can have like 7 or 8 different cities set up.
im not sure where ur from but i didnt need any hack to pull up my city...

oh i see, u need some kind of wrk around. someone should chime in soon enough on that matter. hol on...i juss thought of somethin....u need a way to go into the system registry or that widget registry.....find out how the determine the different cites used(like by zipcodes or some ([email protected]). then once u do, put in ur cities info, in that place.........................i thinkkkkkkk...lmfao

If that idea doesn't work, search for a cab. There are some out there that will add different cities to your list, I used them on previous ROM's to try to fix a My Location issue I had. It didn't work for my issue with My Location,but I can definitely say that it opened up different cities that were not previously available.

You should tell everyone what you used, to assist others.

I don't know what he used, but I use the Conflipper weather database v5. Downside is that it takes FOREVER for it to parse the huge database to find a city as you type the name.

Anyway, I used the JVH3 Weather Editor. Worked perfectly.

No, you haven't posted enough comments, but you could still copy the address into the text here. That would work.

[Q] news and weather

Hi all,
I would ask a question about news and weather widget. I'm experiencing the following the strange behaviour:
1.. when I have a data connection available, I can click on the widget to get weather forecast page and everything is working fine
2.. when there is no data connection, weather forecast page is sometimes shown but sometimes not and I got a connection error.
How could that be possible?
Is there a way to get it work all the time?
Sorry if I'm asking something which may even be in some other thread but there are too many threads about this, that I'm not able to read all of them

What ROM / weather widget are you speaking of? I am thinking it is due to your update settings...
a. when you open and is due to update (no data), you will not see page as its trying refresh...
b. when you see it, it probably has refreshed previously when you had data and didnt need to update...
Fancy Widgets is the best I have found for weather, looks a lot like HTC Sense with a great deal more features and settings. Available from the Market
