[REQ] Train Time Application

I don't know about anyone else in the UK but I could really do with an app that allows me to search for train times.
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk just about works in Opera but it's slow to render and fiddly to have to fill in the boxes as it doesn't scale very well onto the WVGA screen. What I reckon would be great would be an app that can do the searching for you, with nice big boxes making it easier to type your start and end points.
I've searched around and not found anything out there that seems to do the job. I came across a .jar programme here (http://www.getjar.com/products/903/LiveUKTrainTimes) but It's not very user friendly and only does live departures/arrivals rather than a search of the National Rail Enquiries database.
Anyone know of anything out there that would do something like this? Or does anyone want to take a stab at developing it? I've seen the thread for the Australian train times but haven't tried it out as yet.

If you find anything, I'd also be interested.
What I've done is downloaded the timetable in pdf format and use adobe viewer to view this on the phone. Obviously there is more trainlines in the UK than there are in Ireland so this maybe wouldn't work for you. (Only 4 lines in Northern Ireland)

I would definitely use that! I love the national rail site because it lets you set favourite journeys. An app like that would be indispensable to me.

Have you tried the show directions option in google maps?
This uses the application Transit on the "Public Transport" tab and seems to work well for me in Switzerland. But, I don't know about UK - give it a go.

Looks good, I am also interested, especially since I use Chiltern, Virgin and TFL a lot. Being able to get train times in a minute on my phone would be great.

Annoyingly I don't think it does work in the UK (at least it doesn't for me). I can only use walking and driving. Mass Transit is a no-go.

Am I right in thinking this app lets you know how to get from a to b on underground systems? I'll have a look but I don't think it does the kind of thing I'm hoping for. I'd like to have an app that pulls data from the National Rail Enquiries website. Even better would be a push of any issues with 'Favourite' lines esepcially at rush-hour.
I'll have a look at that app; even a solid knowledge of the London Underground sometimes fails when meeting a friend at a pub in a random part of Town I seldom visit!

That is the dream my friend! I use a mixture of Southern, South Eastern and TFL. No so fussed about tube times; is there every such a thing as a timetable down there in reality? Certainly doesn't seem to be the case on the Northern Line coming out of London Bridge in the morning!

Use National Rail's WAP site which looks nice and big in WVGA -

or you can text the station you're going from and too and it will tell you the next 3 train times - all the info is here:

Weather not working???

I just noticed that my weather on touch isn't working properly. everytime i try to update it, it says there was a connection error... is anyone else getting this?
I did put Conflipper North American Weather v4 (forgot where I found it) on my TP2 so i got extra cities to choose from, if that makes a difference....
Anyone have a solution?

Yea I was having the same issue.
I un-installed the conflipper weather cab and weather is updating fine now.
Wonder if something is blocking the weather updates that the cab file uses.

I uninstalled and the weather is working for me, too. I posted this on the conflipper thread over here:

Ahh, ok so it was a server issue with Conflipper after all. Once he gets new hosting it should be back up and running again.
Hopefully this is soon.

I guess I'll uninstall mine too to get my old weather back, was nice having the cities I actually wanted.

[APP][LIVE WALLPAPER] FB Home Coverflow Live Wallpaper for Tumblr/Instagram

My first post here and obviously blatant self promotion so I expect to be flamed but I wanted to gauge interest.
Given the lack of Facebook Home support for the Nexus and the fact I didn't like the way it took over my whole phone I've been writing this live wallpaper that does coverflow type stuff with different social networks.
At some point I'd like to make lots of money from it (obviously) but I've set up a free version on the market for Tumblr and could do one for Instagram if there was enough interest and keep the one that does everything paid for.
I can't attach anything so all I can do is ask for people to search for "SocialWallpaper Tumblr" on the market and hope you can find it!
I'm really interested in hearing what people think so here are some screenshots, a link and the offer to flame on!

I realised I can at least attach some images!

This looks very promising! Would love something like this for instagram though, don't use Tumblr at all to be honest. Hope you can make a few bucks from the paid version. Good luck! (I think you are allowed to link to the app itself on the Play Store)

Added an Instagram version but not managed to test it from Play yet. If you get it/it works let me know else I'll have to try again tomorrow (pics attached)

Settings work if you launch from the app screen but not the live wallpaper picker. I've submitted 1.0.4 with a fix so that should hit at some point.

**UPDATE**
I've managed to test the new release and you should be able to get to the settings from either the app or the live wallpaper settings button for the Instagram version.
I'd obviously like to try and publicise this for other devices but don't want to spam every forum, could a more experienced member please point me in the right direction of where I should post?

Glad you like it - if you want to shift the profile pics down a bit go into settings and tweak the "Top Padding" a bit. I'm on stock launcher and have it on about 80 to keep it off the search bar, you should be fine with around 30

smart note weather alerts

Hi guys i seem to be having trouble with smart notice weather alerts. Every time i go to the widget settings and then thr places tab its greyed out and says location unavailable? I have turned on location settings and can use the gps on maps etc but this seems to not turn on and not track my location. Im unable to view weather animation at lockscreen as well? My phone is the korean version and im living in australia.

I cant its a korean widget just worked out it wont work overseas for alert cards.

You should ask on whirlpool - Pafc66

I reside in hong kong and the widget app seems to be working fine on most part. I say this because when its raining in HK, the phone says "Rain/Snow" and the animation shows a bunch of snow falling. This is kinda funny cuz its currently 30 degrees c and the phone is not smart enough to determine that it can't snow under such weather condition.

Hey there, i really want to help you with this but didn't you sell your phone on Gumtree? Surely you wouldn't need to know this info if you don't currently have the phone. Confused!

Haha yeah I noticed that too. It said snow here yesterday in Melbourne but it was like 14 degrees. Gets cold but not that cold!!

Im sharing my first Facer watch face for the MOTO 360.
This watchface has a battery meter and also shows your step counts for the day.
Very clean and simple design.
I also take requests so you can mail me for any requests.
I hope to keep this post updated!
UPDATE:
Adding an updated watchmaker face, you can change te color of the dial through watchmaker now and a nice subtle radar animation to it. Also updated weather icons are more accurate now ( hopefully)!

HEY!.. extract the '.face' file from the zip then import that to facer.. should work fine, the face is a little heavy so take SLIGHTLY longer to come onto the watch!

Looks very nice. The step count seems way off (unless I really walked 64K steps today) but I'll test tomorrow when things start from zero.

Looks cool, but I also noticed the step count is way off. Maybe it'll reset the next day, but I don't think I walked 25K steps today.
