If this is a software issue, maybe you should check http://www.htc.com/la/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=88&act=sd&cat=all, (it's the Latin American section). I've noticed they have a solution for better bluetooth communication with the HTC ELF gsm and personally I don't know if this same file works with the excalibur, you can ask HTC support they respond very quick. Or simply your motorola bluetooth device is not fully responsive with HTC.
thanks alot

Hi,
Newbie, just purchased an XDA2i with an O2 'blue' headset and I need some help in the voice dial area.
Turns out they are not compatible for one click voice dialing. Installed fonix VoiceDial 2.0 off the O2 installation CD but it will not activate from the Blue Headset Call button. In the XDA settings you can assign hardware buttons from the XDAii to start the voice dial feature but not from the headset pickup / make call button.
Any ideas if this can be resolved or if there is another voice dial software that can be activated to make a call by clicking the O2 blue headset? And/or another headset that works so I don't have to keep getting this thing out of my bag to make a call? - Would have thought this would have been a basic requirment of a phone/pda this size?
Cheers,
R
Same problem with Jabra BT250v
I have the same problem with my XDA IIi and Jabra BT250v headset. O2 Customer services are absolutely no help, they say "there is no headset available at the moment that will function properly with xda IIi". O2 Shops say all headsets will work but you need to buy one and then try", what does one believe and go to get help...........?

These PDA's dont support this functions, irrespective of where you buy it from. orange, voda, o2, t-mobile - they just can't do bluetooth voicedial. Naff but true.
Yes, strange but true, it seems the reason is that the xda series are pda's with phone capability, not phone with pda capability so they thought they would leave out that particular feature. Probably something to do with marketing but I cant see the logic of it for the life of me.

I have a O2 mini, and Sony BT Headset. I also have a disability and this 'non-feature' is more than just an 'annoyance' for me.
Calling out I can manage on the pda and the headset turns on automatically - though voice dial would be handy, it's the answering that I have trouble with.
Can you tell me, is the 'bit' that switches a incoming call to a BT headset part of the BT in MSWindows 2003se PPC software or part of the O2 firmware or part of hardware?
What does the answering? Could a utility be written that detects an incoming call and switch answer to a BT headset?

There are two known pocket pc phones that have bluetooth voice dialling; the Motorola MPX and the Eten M500. So its not a limitation of the OS, just short-sightedness of some app developers
Hi,
I just recived my BT800 today, and it pairs fine with the Hands Free profile, and i can hear things fine through the BT800's speaker... but it doesnt seem to be transmitting voice? at all... ie. like the mic is turned off or somthing?

BT800 - same problem
I have the same problem.. can hear loud & proud but no microphone.. although it works on voice calls. Will post a fix if I find one - anybody else got any suggestions?
Just got mine as well. I already upgraded firmware to 0.32. When I paired it with my i-mate Jasjar, it said "Bluetooth Headset" and "Seria Port" - I checked both, not knowing why I'd want the serial port, but thinking that it might be for general speaker and mic use. Still don't know...
New firmware 0.322 didn't seem to help. I could for sure be doing something wrong. I'll do more research and get back to this board.
are u using it with the universal?
i pair my bt800 with the universal and all i see is handsfree option, no serial port.
my problem is that the sounds cut, and i´ve very much noise on my conversations, in special in my talk...
I dont know If I am in the right area but I am frustrated right now I am using an 8525 with wm6 VP3G version 3.0 radio 1.48 and the motorola HS850 bluetooth. I paired the devices together and I can hang up phone calls with the bluetooth and I hear the end beep when i hang up but I do not hear any sound on it like when I am checking my voicemail. Is there a bug or am I doing something wrong? I enabled it as a handsfree device and as a serial device but no luck is it just supposed to be a serial device by itself? I would appreciate any help

this should be in the accessories forum but try removing and repairing with just hands free.
It seems that it is a compatibility problem. You can check there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=322019

on the "add devices" page, with the headset shown already attached, if you tap and hold your device's name, select "headset".
I have the same problem and up to now I didn't solve it, I have also an HS810 and it works perfectly.
Bye prengo
Same problem. It worked for me with earlier WM6 releases, but with the latest version, I've the same problem. the only solution I think is to buy a new one!
Same Problem Here. any body found any solution?
First a BIG thanks to all for the fantastic work being done on this site. I too have the same problem with my HS850 connecting fine but having no sound. Has anyone been able to solve this HS850 problem? I've tried for 3 days without success
mine works
hs850 works fine on vp3g 3.0. Pair and go, no hassle.

I am using Dopod M700 with WM5. Working well with Motorola HS850. Then I flashed to Artemis Touch 2.1 WM6. The problem is when my call comes in, after I pressed on the answer button, no sound. Just a connected/disconnected sound. Doesn't even work with a2dp also.
Mines working with vp3G 3.62. Just make sure you check "handset" when u choose services.
I dont know what dialer you're using, but at least with the Kaiser dialer, a little headset icon appears in the dialer if you have it paired and the boom out. Might check that too.
Hello,
I've had my Tilt2 for 2 months now and am ready to get a headset. After many searches I can't find a definitive list of headsets that are working/ not working correctly.
I'm using a stock ROM and have the Tilt2 2 tweaked to 43% memory usage on boot-up. The phone is fast and everything works correctly. Also using SPB mobile Shell.
Has anyone tied in the Bluetooth 2.1 vs 2.0 headsets with correct operation? I want the voice command, audio passthrough, and buttons to work correctly.
Maybe we can start a list of Phone - ROM version - Headset - Whats working/not working.
I'm mainly concerned with the stock ROM but any info may assist others.
Thanks
Jim O
Well, I have the Jawbone Prime & Motorola HX-1 and both work fine.
Motorola H710 works fine as well.
Thanks for the info. Does the voice command work for making calls and you can also hear music files and audio from websites?
Thanks Jim O
Surely more folks can contribute to a good list. Lets get some more response going. This could be of great benefit to one and all.
Thanks!!!!!
Samsung WEP 850 with voice command works just fine.
The Sony DRBT100CX stereo bluetooth earbuds also work very well with the Tilt 2. All A2DP/AVRC audio and handsfree calling functions are supported. Nice bargain at $50 as well.
Yes, but...
... has anyone found a BT headset that announces the incoming caller ID over it instead of the phone's speaker?
I've tried a couple of older as well as one new BT headset. All pair and work flawlessly with my Tilt 2, but none of them will announce the incoming caller ID over the headset as it did with my original Tilt.
Yeh, I'm pretty sure this was a screwup in the Widcomm BT stack but just want to make sure. FYI, HTC tech support states that none of their phones do this! When I asked 'em why the old Tilts did, I didn't get any more response.
Well, I picked up a new Motorola H17 12/30/09. Everything works as advertised, except the incoming caller announcement (on phone announcement only). This headset was released only a couple months ago with the latest Bluetooth 2.1 and all the other amenities so this problem does seem to be a problem with the stack.
On a side note, this headset works great. Get ALL phone sounds transferred and also volume control on both the phone and headset. Works great with streaming video/audio. And it is loud, usually have it set to mid volume. Also, I bought it from an AT&T store ($80) and he stated that if anything goes wrong with it for 1 year just bring it in and he will replacement.

I have the Jabra HALO and works wonderfully well with my TP2, running Win6.5

The manager @ my local AT&T store has a Tilt 2 using a Blue Ant Q1 bluetooth & he says that his BT does all these things. I just ordered one so I will let you know when I get it. FYI he was using a Jawbone prior to the Q1.

I got my Blue Ant Q1 and it does announce the incoming calls over the blue tooth & your text messages, e-mail, reminders, your music- I like it. If you turn "announce incoming call off" in voice command it will not announce them over the speaker on the phone. I bought mine off e-bay for $48.99.
