Upgrade XDA PPC2002 to WM2003????

i've just bought my friends XDA (the 1st one), i was wondering if by any chance i can upgrade it to windows mobile 2003 & remove the PPC 2002 on it?
my only problem with this phone is that it does not have BT & WM2003, but i guess that a software issue??
can it be done.
can someone please give me a link for this...

Yes you can upgrade to WM2003 but about the BT this is a Hardware issue thus you cannot get an BT SD because it won't work the unit does not support SD/IO.
I recommend from you do not touch the "RSU" leave it as its .

Hello. Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but I am new to flashing roms, and I don't know who to ask for help. I have an audiovox ppc4100 and all I want to do is upgrade it to windows mobile 5 or 6. Just something other than wm2003. I've downloaded numerous wm6 and wm5 images from this site (They are extremely cool looking from the screenshots I've seen!) but I cannot seem to get any of them to work. I am running windows vista, so activesync isn't available. Its the windows mobile device center. It would just be easiest if I could rom upgrade from my 2gb sd card. Is there anyone who can help me either cook a wm5 or wm6 rom for my ppc4100 or give me some pointers on how to do this (remember, I'm a newbie!) I would really appreciate anyone's help. Thanks so much!

Here is a link to the files for the Dell Axim X51v A012 ROM. Someone posted this a while back under the A03 thread. I have used these with my Ax with success, but bear no responsibility if they don't work for anyone else. These must be flashed using the SD Bootloader method.
To read the steps for flashing from SD, look in WM6 A03 Thread.

If I might suggest, try the Wm6 upgrade again. I really like Wm6 A03 RTM, and the only reason I have this A012 ROM is because I had to downgrade and reupgrade, because my ax didn't like the fact that I went to A017 inbetween. Everything works well for me now.

Have you tried doing it with the original Dell firmware software (on the CD)? I read somewhere in this forum that you can use it to fix a bad flash, I never did myself (very happy wm6 user).

This is old but felt nostalgic today.

Follow this to downgrade but be warned the Axim or just old PDAs are picky on the SD cards you use, or maybe how its formatted. dug up many sd cards and micro sd adapters until i found one that finally worked. Also be patient because its slow to flash image.
Used a Nokia branded 1.0GB sd card that i dont remember where i found it, formatted on windows 11 to FAT32 and maybe guiformat-x64.Exe (so many sd cards and formatting combos)

WM6.5 Update for Symbol MC50 does not exist. Last available update was to WM5.

I followed the installation instructions that come with the installer and it failed. I sent an email to Moto 5 days ago and they have yet to get back to me. I'll udpate when I know more.

I feel like I'm going crazy...anyone have any ideas on what I'm missing here?
I cannot browse to my SD card with the File Manager OR with a third party file manager.
In Memory, the only "Removable Device"s I see are "Application" and "Plantform"
When booting into IPL, I can view the files on the SD card...
I've tried FAT32 and FAT16, no difference (except oddly, FAT16 could not be read from IPL)
What could I be missing to be able to view the SD card within Windows Mobile? I know I could just manually run the .hex files in IPL...but I trust doing that.
Also, anyone with experience doing this upgrade; will I loose the Symbol Demo Applications?

Rom Upgrade Question HP IPAQ

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.
I have a HP IPAQ 2755 HX running Windows Mobile 2003 SE without problem. I have been searching through the internet trying to see if its a good idea to upgrade to WM5 or WM6. I am not sure if its even possible as I have seen some posts that WM5 runs with degradation. Can I upgrade to WM6?
Can I even find a download for Wm5/WM6? I am still gathering information and details and not clear the process to upgrade the ROM.
Any information / advice would be greatly appreciated.
If I do upgrade the ROM and there is problems how easy is it to fallback the original ROM? Could it damage the unit?
