Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.
I have a HP IPAQ 2755 HX running Windows Mobile 2003 SE without problem. I have been searching through the internet trying to see if its a good idea to upgrade to WM5 or WM6. I am not sure if its even possible as I have seen some posts that WM5 runs with degradation. Can I upgrade to WM6?
Can I even find a download for Wm5/WM6? I am still gathering information and details and not clear the process to upgrade the ROM.
Any information / advice would be greatly appreciated.
If I do upgrade the ROM and there is problems how easy is it to fallback the original ROM? Could it damage the unit?

I've been reading a couple threads in the forum from users who have successfully upgraded their PDAs to WM2005. I've like to know if anyone was able to upgrade their Ipaq h6315?
Several threads in the forum have the link to the ROM and also instructions on how to do it but the intructions and ROM are based on the Himalaya PDA and several others.
I just dont want to start the upgrade on my device and then ended up with a non-working PDA.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I also check the MS Windows Mobile 2005 page on the microsoft site but it doesnt have any purchase information. It only talks about the features and the current devices with it.

I have a few questions about Typhoon 7000XL:
1. Is it possible to upgrade operating system from its original Windows Mobile 2003 Pro. second edition to WM5 or WM6?
2. Is it possible to change operating systems language from say German to English? if yes, how?
3. How to make a complete back-up before upgrading so that in case anything goes wrong, it can still be downgraded back to its original state?
I am new to this area and any help will be greatly appreciated.

Actually, I have a very simillar situation like yours with the Typhoon 7000XL. At the moment I don't have any solution to these problems, but I promise you if I get any, I will let you know.
Likewise, if you find any solution to those problems, I would be very appreciated if you could kindly let me know.

and cant share roms
if there is newer rom for the device it will likely
be on their site
or a site like this just for that range of devices

Just something other than wm2003. I've downloaded numerous wm6 and wm5 images from this site (They are extremely cool looking from the screenshots I've seen!) but I cannot seem to get any of them to work. I am running windows vista, so activesync isn't available. Its the windows mobile device center. It would just be easiest if I could rom upgrade from my 2gb sd card. Is there anyone who can help me either cook a wm5 or wm6 rom for my ppc4100 or give me some pointers on how to do this (remember, I'm a newbie!) I would really appreciate anyone's help. Thanks so much!

roms are custom made for devices only a rom which is made for that type of hardware setup will do you any good

My first post here. I could do with some help from the masters.
I have recently bought from the auction site an Axim X51v with WM6 OS on it (Windows Mobile 6 Classic)
CE OS 5.2.1908 (Build 18508.0.7.0).
I have installed several things after that (Resco Media Centre, Core Player, Opera 8.65, etc.) and have noticed that whenever a reminder pops up my PPC freezes and in order to use it again I need soft reset.
Is thid bug something that people have encountered before and if yes is there a cure against it? it is very annoying to have to do it on a permanent basis.
Is there any updates or fixes I need to install/upgrade/flash in order to get it up an running?

I have checked and mine is A03 version. Do you think that I could flash it to the latest Lenny's ROM upgrade without bricking it?

OK, obviously nobody would explain to me why the Calendar freezes my Axim but at least I hoped that someone could tell me whether I could flash it to the latest WM 6.1 and whether it would be possible from my WM 6.0 A03.
I am new in this and will appreciate your help.
